We formulate a fully microscopic approach to large-scale nuclear dynamics using a hyperradius as a collective coordinate. An adiabatic potential is defined by taking account of all possible configurations at a fixed hyperradius, and its hyperradius dependence plays a key role in governing the global nuclear motion. In order to go to larger systems beyond few-body systems, we suggest basis functions of a microscopic multicluster model, propose a method for calculating matrix elements of an adiabatic Hamiltonian with use of Fourier transforms, and test its effectiveness.
We formulate a hyperspherical approach within standard configuration interaction calculations aiming at a description of large-scale dynamics of $N$-particle system. The channel wave function and the adiabatic channel energy are determined by solving a hyperradius-constrained eigenvalue problem of the adiabatic Hamiltonian. The needed matrix elements are analytically evaluated using correlated Gaussians with good orbital angular momentum and parity. The feasibility of the approach is tested in three-$α$ system. A spectrum of the adiabatic channel energies is determined depending on the degree …
The Hyperspherical Harmonics (HH) method is one of the most accurate techniques to solve the quantum mechanical problem for nuclear systems with $A\le 4$. In particular, by applying the Rayleigh-Ritz or Kohn variational principle, both bound and scattering states can be addressed, using either local or non-local interactions. Thanks to this versatility, the method can be used to test the two- and three-nucleon components of the nuclear interaction. In the present review we introduce the formalism of the HH method, both for bound and scattering states. In particular, we describe the implementat…
We have studied the solution of the six-nucleon bound state problem using the hyperspherical harmonic (HH) approach. For this study we have considered only two-body nuclear forces. In particular we have used a chiral nuclear potential evolved with the similarity renormalization group unitary transformation. A restricted basis has been selected by performing a careful analysis of the convergence of different HH classes. Finally, the binding energy and other properties of ${}^6$Li ground state are calculated and compared with the results obtained by other techniques. Then, we present a calculati…
In this paper, we presented the ground state energies calculated for some single and double cascade hyperon($Ξ^{-}$) hypernuclei. For hypernuclei of the type $_Ξ^{A_c+1}$X we applied $Ξ+^A_c$X two-body model and for hypernuclei of the type $_{ΞΞ}^{A_c+2}$X we adopted $Ξ+Ξ+^A_c$X three-body model. A two-term Gaussian (Isle type) potential with adjustable parameters is chosen as the $Ξ$-nucleus interaction, while a two-term Yukawa-type potential has been chosen for the $ΞΞ$ pair. In the three-body model calculation, we adopted the hyperspherical harmonics expansion (HHE) formalism. The resulting…

Background: Solving nuclear many-body problems with an ab initio approach is widely recognized as a computationally challenging problem. Quantum computers offer a promising path to address this challenge. There are urgent needs to develop quantum algorithms for this purpose. Objective: In this work, we explore the application of the quantum algorithm of adiabatic state preparation with quantum phase estimation in ab initio nuclear structure theory. We focus on solving the low-lying spectra (including both the ground and excited states) of simple nuclear systems. Ideas: The efficiency of this a…
We investigate the adiabatic index $Γ_{\mathrm{th}}$ of hot and dense nuclear matter from chiral effective field theory and find that the results are systematically larger than from typical mean field models. We start by constructing the finite-temperature equation of state from chiral two- and three-nucleon forces, which we then use to fit a class of extended Skyrme energy density functionals. This allows for modeling the thermal index across the full range of densities and temperatures that may be probed in simulations of core-collapse supernovae and neutron star mergers, including the low-d…
