In this article we study the existence of solutions to the system \begin{equation*}\left\{ \begin{array}{ll} -\left(a+b\int_Ω|\nabla u|^{2}\right)Δu +ϕu= f(x, u) &\text{in }Ω\hbox{} -Δϕ= u^{2} &\text{in }Ω\hbox{} u=ϕ=0&\text{on }\partialΩ, \hbox{} \end{array} \right. \end{equation*} where $Ω$ is a bounded smooth domain of $\mathbb{R}^N$ ($N=1,2$ or $3$), $a>0$, $b\geq0$, and $f:\overlineΩ\times \mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}$ is a continuous function which is $3$-superlinear. By using some variants of the mountain pass theorem established in this paper, we show the existence of three solutions: one positive, one negative, and one which changes its sign. Furthermore, in case $f$ is odd with respect to $u$ we obtain an unbounded sequence of sign-changing solutions.
In this paper, we consider Kirchhoff-Schrodinger equations with singular exponential nonlinearities in R^4,using singular Adams inequality and variational techniques, we get the existence of ground state solutions. Moreover, we also get the same results without the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz (AR) condition.
In this paper we establish the orbital stability of standing wave solutions associated to the one-dimensional Schrödinger-Kirchhoff equation. The presence of a mixed term gives us more dispersion, and consequently, a different scenario for the stability of solitary waves in contrast with the corresponding nonlinear Schrödinger equation. For periodic waves, we exhibit two explicit solutions and prove the orbital stability in the energy space.
In this paper we prove the existence of positive ground state solution for a class of linearly coupled systems involving Kirchhoff-Schrödinger equations. We study the subcritical and critical case. Our approach is variational and based on minimization technique over the Nehari manifold. We also obtain a nonexistence result using a Pohozaev identity type.
We consider the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation on the star graph with the Kirchhoff boundary condition. We prove modified scattering for the final state problem and the initial value problem. Moreover, we also consider the failure of scattering for the Schrödinger equation with power-type long-range nonlinearities. These results are extension of the results for NLS on the one dimensional Euclidean space.
In this paper, we study the existence of infinitely many weak solutions to a fractional Kirchhoff-Schrödinger-Poisson system involving the weak singularity, i.e. when $0<γ<1$. Further, we obtain the existence of a solution with the strong singularity, i.e. when $γ>1$. We employ variational techniques to prove the existence and multiplicity results. Moreover, a $L^{\infty}$ estimate is obtained by using the Moser iteration method.
In this paper we establish the existence of mountain pass and negative energy weak solutions for a Kirchhoff-Schrödinger type problem in $\mathbb R^4$ involving a critical nonlinearity and a suitable small perturbation. The arisen competition between the terms due to the nonlocal coefficient and critical nonlinearity turns out to be rather interesting. The main tools used in the present work are variational methods and the Lions' Concentration Compactness Principle.
We consider the nonlinear Schrödinger equations on the star graph with the Kirchhoff boundary and the repulsive Dirac delta boundary at the origin. In the present paper, we show the scattering-blowup dichotomy result below the mass-energy of the ground state on the real line. The proof of the scattering part is based on a concentration compactness and rigidity argument. Our main contribution is to give a linear profile decomposition on the star graph by using a symmetrical decomposition.

We prove the existence of infinitely many nontrivial weak periodic solutions for a class of fractional Kirchhoff problems driven by a relativistic Schrödinger operator with periodic boundary conditions and involving different types of nonlinearities.
We consider the fractional Schrödinger-Kirchhoff equations with electromagnetic fields and critical nonlinearity $\varepsilon^{2s}M([u]_{s,A_\varepsilon}^2)(-Δ)_{A_\varepsilon}^su + V(x)u =$ $|u|^{2_s^\ast-2}u + h(x,|u|^2)u,$ $\ \ x\in \mathbb{R}^N,$ where $ u(x) \rightarrow 0$ as $|x| \rightarrow \infty,$ and $(-Δ)_{A_\varepsilon}^s$ is the fractional magnetic operator with $0<s<1$, $2_s^\ast = 2N/(N-2s),$ $M : \mathbb{R}^{+}_{0} \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^{+}$ is a continuous nondecreasing function, $V:\mathbb{R}^N \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^+_0,$ and $A: \mathbb{R}^N \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^N$ are t…
In this paper we are concerned with questions of multiplicity and concentration behavior of positive solutions of the elliptic problem $$\left\{\begin{array}{rcl} \mathcal{L}_{\varepsilon}u = f(u) \ \ \mbox{in} \ \ \mathbb{R}^3,\\ u>0 \ \ \mbox{in} \ \ \mathbb{R}^3,\\ u \in H^1 (\mathbb{R}^3), \end{array} \right.$$ where $\varepsilon$ is a small positive parameter, $f:\mathbb{R}\rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ is a continuous function, $\mathcal{L}_{\varepsilon}$ is a nonlocal operator defined by $$ \mathcal{L}_{\varepsilon} u = M \left(\frac{1}{\varepsilon} \int_{\mathbb{R}^3} |\nabla u|^2 + \frac{1}{…
We obtain the existence of ground state solution for the nonlocal problem $$ m\left(\int_{\mathbb{R}^2}(|\nabla u|^2 + b(x)u^2) \textrm{d}x\right)(-Δu + b(x)u) = A(x)f(u) \ \ \ \textrm{in} \ \ \ \mathbb{R}^2, $$ where $m$ is a Kirchhoff-type function, $b$ may be negative and noncoercive, $A$ is locally bounded and the function $f$ has critical exponential growth. We also obtain new results for the classical Schrödinger equation, namely the local case $m\equiv 1$. In the proofs we apply Variational Methods beside a new Trudinger-Moser type inequality.
We investigate the stability of ground states to a nonlinear focusing Schrödinger equation in presence of a Kirchhoff term. Through a spectral analysis of the linearized operator about ground states, we show a modulation stability estimate of ground states in the spirit of one due to Weinstein [{\it SIAM J. Math. Anal.}, 16(1985),472-491].
We consider the two-dimensional Kirchhoff-Love plate equation in the context of elasticity modeling the stresses and deformations in thin plates subjected to forces and moments. We establish global recovery of the material parameters like bending stiffness, Poisson coefficient, Lamé parameters from the associated boundary Cauchy data of the equation.
We obtain a sequence of solutions converging to zero for the Kirchhoff equation $$-\left( 1+\int_Ω\left\vert \nabla u\right\vert^2\right) Δu+V(x)u=f(u)\text{,\qquad}u\in H_{0}^{1}(Ω)$$ via truncating technique and a variant of Clark's theorem due to Liu--Wang, where $Ω$ is a bounded smooth domain $Ω\subset\mathbb{R}^N$. Similar result for Schrödinger-Poisson system on a bounded smooth domain $Ω\subset\mathbb{R}^3$ is also presented.
In this paper, we establish a type of uniqueness and nondegeneracy results for positive solutions to the following nonlocal Kirchhoff equations \begin{eqnarray*} -\left(a+b\int_{\mathbb{R}^{3}}|\nabla u|^{2}\text{d} x\right)Δu+u=|u|^{p-1}u & & \text{in }\mathbb{R}^{3}, \end{eqnarray*} where $a,b$ are positive constants and $1<p<5$. Before this paper, it seems that there have no this type of results even on positive ground states solutions to Kirchhoff type equations, much less on general positive solutions. To overcome the difficulty brought by the nonlocality, some new observation on Kirchhof…
Using minimax methods and Lusternik-Schnirelmann theory, we study multiple positive solutions for the Schrödinger - Kirchhoff equation $$ M\left(\dis\int_{Ω_λ}|\nabla u|^{2}dx+\dis\int_{Ω_λ}u^{2}dx\right)\left[-Δu + u \right]= f(u) $$ in $Ω_λ = λΩ$. The set $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^3$ is a smooth bounded domain, $λ>0$ is a parameter, $M$ is a general continuous function and $f$ is a superlinear continuous function with subcritical growth. Our main result relates, for large values of $λ$, the number of solutions with the least number of closed and contractible in $\barΩ$ which cover $\barΩ$.
In this paper we are concerned with the existence and multiplicity of solutions for the fractional Choquard-type Schrödinger-Kirchhoff equations with electromagnetic fields and critical nonlinearity: \begin{eqnarray*} \begin{cases} \varepsilon^{2s}M([u]_{s,A}^2)(-Δ)_{A}^su + V(x)u = (|x|^{-α}*F(|u|^2))f(|u|^2)u + |u|^{2_s^\ast-2}u,\ \ \ x\in \mathbb{R}^N,\\ u(x) \rightarrow 0,\ \ \quad \mbox{as}\ |x| \rightarrow \infty, \end{cases} \end{eqnarray*} where $(-Δ)_{A}^s$ is the fractional magnetic operator with $0<s<1$, $2_s^\ast = 2N/(N-2s)$, $α< \min\{N, 4s\}$, $M : \mathbb{R}^{+}_{0}\rightarrow …
We study the existence and multiplicity of solutions for a class of fractional Schrödinger-Kirchhoff type equations with the Trudinger-Moser nonlinearity. More precisely, we consider \begin{gather*} \begin{cases} M\big(\|u\|^{N/s}\big)\left[(-Δ)^s_{N/s}u+V(x)|u|^{\frac{N}{s}-1}u\right]= f(x,u) +λh(x)|u|^{p-2}u\, &{\rm in}\ \ \mathbb{R}^N,\\ \|u\|=\left(\iint_{\mathbb{R}^{2N}}\frac{|u(x)-u(y)|^{N/s}}{|x-y|^{2N}}dxdy+\int_{\mathbb{R}^N}V(x)|u|^{N/s}dx\right)^{s/N}, \end{cases}\end{gather*} where $M:[0,\infty]\rightarrow [0,\infty)$ is a continuous function, $s\in (0,1)$, $N\geq2$, $λ>0$ is a par…
In this paper we investigate the existence of positive solutions and ground state solution for a class of fractional Schrödinger-Poisson equations in $\mathbb R^3$ with general nonlinearities.
In this paper we use a concentration and compactness argument to prove the existence of a nontrivial nonradial solution to the nonlinear Schrodinger-Poisson equations in R3, assuming on the nonlinearity the general hypotheses introduced by Berestycki & Lions
We prove the existence of least energy nodal solution for a class of Schrödinger-Poisson system in a bounded domain $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^3$ with nonlinearity having a subcritical growth.
We prove the existence of non-trivial solutions for a fractional Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger-Poisson equation in $\mathbb{R}^{3}$. The proof is based on the perturbation method and the mountain pass theorem.
In this paper, we prove the asymptotic stability of nonlinear Schrodiger equations on star graphs, which partially solves an open problem in D. Noja \cite{DN}. The essential ingredient of our proof is the dispersive estimate for the linearized operator around the soliton with Kirchhoff boundary condition. In order to obtain the dispersive estimates, we use the Born's series technique and scattering theory for the linearized operator.
We prove the existence of infinitely many high energy sign-changing solutions for some classes of Schrodinger-Poisson systems in bounded domains, with nonlinearities having subcritical or critical growth. Our approach is variational and relies on an application of a new sign-changing version of the symmetric mountain pass theorem.
We find a sign-changing solution for a class of Schrödinger-Poisson system in $\mathbb{R}^3$ as an existence result by minimization in a closed subset containing all the sign-changing solutions of the equation. The proof is based on variational methods in association with the deformation lemma and Miranda's theorem.
We prove that in the nonrelativistic limit, solutions of the Klein-Gordon-Maxwell system in 1+3 dimensions converge in the energy space to solutions of a Schrodinger-Poisson system, under appropriate conditions on the initial data. This requires the splitting of the scalar Klein-Gordon field into a sum of two fields, corresponding, in the physical interpretation, to electrons and positrons.
This paper is intended to review recent results and open problems concerning the existence of steady states to the Maxwell-Schrödinger system. A combination of tools, proofs and results are presented in the framework of the concentration--compactness method.
We study the Schrödinger-Poisson-Slater equation $$-Δu + u+λ(I_{2}*|u|^2)u=|u|^{p-2}u\quad\text{in $\mathbb R^3$},$$ where $p\in (3,6)$ and $λ>0$. By using direct variational analysis based on the comparison of the ground state energy levels, we obtain a characterization of the limit profile of the positive ground states for $λ\to \infty$.
In this article we study the existence and concentration behavior of bound states for a nonlinear Schrödinger-Poisson system with a parameter $\varepsilon>0$. Under some suitable conditions on the potential functions, we prove that for $\varepsilon$ small the system has a positive solution that concentrates at a point which is a global minimum of the minimax function associated to the related autonomous problem.
We consider the stationary one dimensional Schrödinger-Poisson system on a bounded interval with a background potential describing a quantum well. Using a partition function which forces the particles to remain in the quantum well, the limit $h\rightarrow0$ in the nonlinear system leads to a uniquely solved nonlinear problem with concentrated particle density. It allows to conclude about the convergence of the solution.
We consider the Schrödinger--Poisson--Newton equations for finite crystals under periodic boundary conditions with one ion per cell of a lattice. The electron field is described by the $N$-particle Schrödinger equation with antisymmetric wave function. Our main results are i) the global dynamics with moving ions, and ii) the orbital stability of periodic ground state under a novel Jellium and Wiener-type conditions on the ion charge density. Under Jellium condition both ionic and electronic charge densities of the ground state are uniform.
We perform a semiclassical analysis for the planar Schrödinger-Poisson system \[ \cases{ -\varepsilon^{2} Δψ+V(x)ψ= E(x) ψ\quad \text{in $\mathbb{R}^2$},\cr -ΔE= |ψ|^{2} \quad \text{in $\mathbb{R}^2$}, \cr } \tag{$SP_\varepsilon$} \] where $\varepsilon$ is a positive parameter corresponding to the Planck constant and $V$ is a bounded external potential. We detect solution pairs $(u_\varepsilon, E_\varepsilon)$ of the system $(SP_\varepsilon)$ as~$\ge \rightarrow 0$.
In this paper we consider the following quasilinear Schrödinger-Poisson system $$ \left\{ \begin{array}[c]{ll} - Δu +u+ϕu = λf(x,u)+|u|^{2^{*}-2}u &\ \mbox{in } \mathbb{R}^{3} \\ -Δϕ-\varepsilon^{4} Δ_4 ϕ= u^{2} & \ \mbox{in } \mathbb{R}^{3}, \end{array} \right. $$ depending on the two parameters $λ,\varepsilon>0$. We first prove that, for $λ$ larger then a certain $λ^{*}>0$, there exists a solution for every $\varepsilon>0$. Later, we study the asymptotic behaviour of these solutions whenever $\varepsilon$ tends to zero, and we prove that they converge to the solution of the Schrödinger-Poiss…
In this paper we consider the following quasilinear Schrödinger-Poisson system in a bounded domain in $\mathbb{R}^{2}$: $$ \left\{ \begin{array}[c]{ll} - Δu +ϕu = f(u) &\ \mbox{in } Ω, -Δϕ- \varepsilon^{4}Δ_4 ϕ= u^{2} & \ \mbox{in } Ω, u=ϕ=0 & \ \mbox{on } \partialΩ\end{array} \right. $$ depending on the parameter $\varepsilon>0$. The nonlinearity $f$ is assumed to have critical exponencial growth. We first prove existence of nontrivial solutions $(u_{\varepsilon}, ϕ_{\varepsilon})$ and then we show that as $\varepsilon\to0^{+}$ these solutions converges to a nontrivial solution of the associa…
In this paper, we study the following nonlinear problem of Kirchhoff type with pure power nonlinearities: (a+b\ds\int_{\R^3}|D u|^2\right)Δu+V(x)u=|u|^{p-1}u, u\in H^1(\R^3), u>0, $x\in \R^3, where $a,$ $b>0$ are constants, $2<p<5$ and $V:\R^3\rightarrow\R$. Under certain assumptions on $V$, we prove that \eqref{0.1} has a positive ground state solution by using a monotonicity trick and a new version of global compactness lemma. Our main results can be viewed as a partial extension of a recent result of He and Zou in [16] concerning the existence of positive solutions to the nonlinear Kirchhof…
In this paper, we study the existence of multiple positive solutions for a class of fractional Schrödinger-Poisson systems involving sign-changing potential and critical nonlinearities on an unbounded domain. With the help of Nehari manifold and Ljusternik-Schnirelmann category, we investigate how the coefficient $g(x)$ of the critical nonlinearity affects the number of positive solutions. Moreover, we present a novel relationship between the number of positive solutions and the category of the global maximum set of $g(x)$.
In this paper, we prove a multiplicity result of solutions for the following stationary Schrödinger-Poisson-Slater equations \begin{equation}\label{eq-abstract} -Δu - λu + (\left | x \right |^{-1}\ast \left | u \right |^2) u - |u|^{p-2}u = 0 \ \mbox{ in } \ \mathbb{R}^{3}, \end{equation} where $λ\in \R$ is a parameter, and $p\in (2,6)$. The solutions we obtained have a prescribed $L^2$-norm. Our proofs are mainly inspired by a recent work of Bartsch and De Valeriola [7].
The existence and $L^{\infty}$ estimate of positive solutions are discussed for the following Schrödinger-Poisson system {ll} -Δu +(λ+\frac{1}{|y|^α})u+ϕ(x) u =|u|^{p-1}u, x=(y,z)\in \mathbb{R}^2\times\mathbb{R}, -Δϕ= u^2,\ \lim\limits_{|x|\rightarrow +\infty}ϕ(x)=0, \hfill y=(x_1,x_2) \in \mathbb{R}^2 with |y|=\sqrt{x_1^2+x_2^2}, where $λ\geqslant0$, $α\in[0,8)$ and $\max\{2,\frac{2+α}{2}\}<p<5$.
The present study is concerned with the following Schrödinger-Poisson system involving critical nonlocal term $$ \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} -Δu+u-K(x)ϕ|u|^3u=λf(x)|u|^{q-2}u, & x\in\mathbb{R}^3, -Δϕ=K(x)|u|^5, & x\in\mathbb{R}^3,\\ \end{array} \right. $$ where $1<q<2$ and $λ>0$ is a parameter. Under suitable assumptions on $K(x)$ and $f(x)$, there exists $λ_0=λ_0(q,S,f,K)>0$ such that for any $λ\in(0,λ_0)$, the above Schrödinger-Poisson system possesses at least two positive solutions by standard variational method, where a positive least energy solution will also be obtained.
Using variational methods we prove some results about existence and multiplicity of positive bound states of to the following Schrödinger-Poisson system: $$ \left\{ \begin{array}{l} \vspace{2mm} -Δu+V(x)u+K(x)ϕ(x)u=u^5 -Δϕ=K(x)u^2\qquad x\in\R^3 \end{array}\right.\quad\quad (SP) $$ We remark that $(SP)$ exhibits a "double" lack of compactness because of the unboundedness of $\R^3$ and the critical growth of the nonlinear term and that in our assumptions ground state solutions of $(SP)$ do not exist.
We consider the Schrödinger-Poisson-Slater (SPS) system in $\R^3$ and a nonlocal SPS type equation in balls of $\mathbb R^3$ with Dirichlet boundary conditions. We show that for every $k\in\mathbb N$ each problem considered admits a nodal radially symmetric solution which changes sign exacly $k$ times in the radial variable. Moreover when the domain is the ball of $\mathbb R^3$ we obtain the existence of radial global solutions for the associated nonlocal parabolic problem having $k+1$ nodal regions at every time.
In this paper we investigate the existence of positive solutions to the following Schrödinger-Poisson-Slater system [c]{ll} - Δu+ u + λϕu=|u|^{p-2}u & \text{in} Ω-Δϕ= u^{2} & \text{in} Ωu=ϕ=0 & \text{on} \partialΩ. where $Ω$ is a bounded domain in $\mathbf{R}^{3},λ$ is a fixed positive parameter and $p<2^{*}=\frac{2N}{N-2}$. We prove that if $p$ is "near" the critical Sobolev exponent $2^*$, then the number of positive solutions is greater then the Ljusternik-Schnirelmann category of $Ω$.
This paper is motivated by the study of a version of the so-called Schrodinger-Poisson-Slater problem: $$ - Δu + ωu + λ(u^2 \star \frac{1}{|x|}) u=|u|^{p-2}u,$$ where $u \in H^1(\R^3)$. We are concerned mostly with $p \in (2,3)$. The behavior of radial minimizers motivates the study of the static case $ω=0$. Among other things, we obtain a general lower bound for the Coulomb energy, that could be useful in other frameworks. The radial and nonradial cases turn out to yield essentially different situations.
