Space-time correlations between produced particles, induced by the composite nature of hadrons, imply specific changes in the properties of the correlation functions for identical particles. The expected magnitude of these effects is evaluated using the recently published blast-wave model analysis of the data for $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV.
We analyse in detail the possibility of Bose-Einstein condensation of pions produced in heavy-ion collisions at the beam energy $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV. Our approach is based on the chemical non-equilibrium thermal model of hadron production which has been generalised to include separately the contribution from the local zero-momentum state. In order to study both the hadronic multiplicities and the transverse-momentum spectra, we use the Cracow freeze-out model which parameterises the flow and space-time geometry of the system at freeze-out in a very economic way. Our analysis indicate…
Using a quark combination model with the equal-velocity combination approximation, we study the production of hadrons with strangeness and charm flavor quantum numbers in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=$5.02 TeV. We present analytical expressions and numerical results for these hadrons' transverse momentum spectra and yield ratios. Our numerical results agree well with the experimental data available. The features of strange and charm hadron production in the quark--gluon plasma at the early stage of heavy ion collisions are also discussed.
We show that the data of $p_{T}$ spectra of $Ω^{-}$ and $ϕ$ at midrapidity in inelastic events in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 13 TeV exhibit a constituent quark number scaling property, which is a clear signal of quark combination mechanism at hadronization. We use a quark combination model under equal velocity combination approximation to systematically study the production of identified hadrons in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$= 13 TeV. The midrapidity data of $p_{T}$ spectra of proton, $Λ$, $Ξ^{-}$, $Ω^{-}$, $ϕ$ and $K^{*}$ in inelastic events are simultaneously well fitted by the model. …
We show that the experimental data of mid-rapidity $p_{T}$ spectra for proton, $Λ$, $Ξ$ , $Ω^{-}$, $\text{K(892)}^{*0}$ and $Ξ(1530)^{*0}$ in minimum-bias $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV can be systemically explained by the quark combination mechanism of hadronization. The averaged transverse momentum $\langle p_{T}\rangle$ and spectra ratios such as $Ξ/Λ$ and $Ω/ϕ$ calculated from quark combination reproduce the data much better than those from traditional string and/or cluster fragmentation. The available data of hadronic $p_{T}$ spectra released by ALICE collaboration in the first three…
We point out that Bose enhancement in a hadronic wave function generically leads to correlations between produced particles. We show explicitly, by calculating the projectile density matrix in the Color Glass Condensate approach to high-energy hadronic collisions, that the Bose enhancement of gluons in the projectile leads to azimuthal collimation of long range rapidity correlations of the produced particles, the so-called ridge correlations.
We present an analysis of hadronic multiplicities measured in Pb-Pb collisions at \sqrt s_{NN} = 2.76 TeV as a function of the collision centrality within the statistical hadronization model. Evidence is found of a dependence of the chemical freeze-out temperature as a function of centrality, with a slow rise from central to peripheral collisions, which we interpret as an effect of post-hadronization inelastic scatterings. Using correction factors calculated by means of a simulation based on the UrQMD model, we are able to obtain a significant improvement in the statitical model fit quality an…
The Bose-Einstein correlation (BEC) in forward region ($2.0<η<4.8$) measured at 7 TeV in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) by the LHCb collaboration is analyzed using two conventional formulas of different types named CF$_{\rm I}$ and CF$_{\rm II}$. The first formula is well known and contains the degree of coherence ($λ$) and the exchange function $E_{\rm BE}^2$ from the BE statistics. The second formula is an extended formula (CF$_{\rm II}$) that contains the second degree of coherence $λ_2$ and the second exchange function $E_{\rm BE_2}^2$ in addition to CF$_{\rm I}$. To examine the physical …
Bose-Einstein correlations in proton-proton collisions is an effective tool to study the space structure of the production amplitude. Usually rather simple parametrization of particle-emission distribution function has been used - exponential or gaussian form. However if one consider a particle source as an expanding media the symmetric Levy distribution as the generalization exponential can be used. Then additional parameter - the index of stability - will appear. All parameters dependencies on the charged particle density and on the mean transverse momentum of the pion/hadron in the correlate…
Under the assumption that a quark-gluon plasma droplet is produced and its evolution can be described by hydrodynamics in p + A collisions, $γ$-triggered hadron spectra are studied within a next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD parton model with the medium-modified parton fragmentation functions. The initial conditions and space-time evolution of the small QGP droplet are provided by the superSONIC hydrodynamic model simulations and parton energy loss in such a medium is described by the high-twist (HT) approach. The scaled jet transport coefficient $\hat{q}/T^3$ in this HT approach is extrac…
Predictions and comparisons of hadronic flow observables for Pb+Pb collisions at 2.76 A TeV and 5.02 A TeV are presented using a hydrodynamics + hadronic cascade hybrid approach. Initial conditions are generated via a new formulation of the IP-Glasma model and then evolved using relativistic viscous hydrodynamics and finally fed into transport cascade in the hadronic phase. The results of this work show excellent agreement with the recent charged hadron anisotropic flow measurements from the ALICE collaboration of Pb+Pb collisions at 5.02 A TeV. Event-by-event distributions of charged hadron v…
We show that Bose-Einstein correlations of identical particles in hadron and nucleus high energy collisions, lead to long range rapidity correlations in the azimuthal angle. These correlations are inherent features of the CGC/saturation approach, however, their origin is more general than this approach. In framework of the proposed technique both even and odd $v_n$ occur naturally, independent of the type of target and projectile. We are of the opinion that it is premature to conclude that the appearance of azimuthal correlations are due to the hydrodynamical behaviour of the quark-gluon plasm…
The possibility of formation of Bose-Einstein Condensation (BEC) is studied in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt s$ = 7 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider. A thermodynamically consistent non-extensive formulation of the identified hadron transverse momentum distributions is used to estimate the critical temperature required to form BEC of charged pions, which are the most abundant species in a multi-particle production process in hadronic and nuclear collisions. The obtained results have been contrasted with the systems produced in Pb-Pb collisions to have a better understanding. We observe an explicit …
Explanation of hadron transverse-momentum spectra in heavy-ion collisions at sqrt(sNN) = 2.76 TeV within chemical non-equilibrium statistical hadronization model
Transverse Momentum, $p_T$, spectra is of prime importance in order to extract crucial information about the evolution dynamics of the system of particles produced in the collider experiments. In this work, the transverse momentum spectra of charged hadrons produced in $PbPb$ collision at $5.02$ TeV has been analyzed using different distribution functions in order to gain strong insight into the information that can be extracted from the spectra. We have also discussed the applicability of Pearson distribution on the spectra of charged hadron at $5.02$ TeV.
In this presentation I report on the results of the paper we published recently together with Kacper Zalewski. It exploits the consequences of the observation that the hadrons, being the composite objects, cannot be produced too close to each other and thus must be correlated in space-time. One of these consequences, which we discuss here, is that the correlation function need not be larger than 1 (as is necessary if the space-time correlations are absent). Since the data from LEP and from LHC do show that the correlation function falls below 1, the particles must be correlated and we show tha…
Identified-hadron (PID) $p_t$ spectra from 13 TeV $p$-$p$ collisions are compared with a two-component (soft+hard) model (TCM) that accurately distinguishes jet-related hadron production (hard component) from nonjet projectile-nucleon dissociation (soft component). The present $p$-$p$ study is similar to and is guided by recent TCM studies of PID spectra from 5 TeV $p$-Pb collisions. The combined analyses serve to establish a well-understood quantitative description of PID hadron production in small collision systems as a control experiment. The control can then be contrasted with conventional…
We show that the experimental data of $p_T$ spectra of identified hadrons released recently by ALICE collaboration for $p$-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.02$ TeV exhibit a distinct universal behavior --- the quark number scaling. We further show that the scaling is a direct consequence of quark (re-)combination mechanism of hadronization and can be regarded as a strong indication of the existence of the underlying source with constituent quark degree of freedom for the production of hadrons in $p$-Pb collisions at such high energies. We make also predictions for production of other hadrons.
Using iEBE-VISHNU hybrid model with the AMPT initial conditions, we study the higher order flow harmonics of identified hadrons in 2.76 A TeV Pb+Pb collisions. Comparison with the recent ALICE measurements at 20-30\% centrality shows that our calculations nicely describe the data below 2 GeV, especially for the $v_2$, $v_3$ and $v_4$ mass-orderings among pions, kaons and protons. We also extended the calculations to other centrality bins, which presents similar mass-ordering patterns for these flow harmonics as the ones observed at 20-30\% centrality. In the later part of this article, we expl…
Using a relativistic hydrodynamics + hadronic afterburner simulation we explore resonance production in PbPb collisions at 5.02 TeV, and demonstrate that many resonance yields, mean transverse momenta, and flows are very sensitive to the late stage hadronic rescattering. Out of all measured resonances $Λ(1520)$ is affected strongest by the hadronic rescattering stage, which allows to estimate its duration, and even constrain branching ratios of $Σ^* \to Λ(1520)π$ decays. Strong suppression of $Λ(1520)$, which in vacuum has a lifetime of 12.6 fm/$c$, is explained by its small lifetime in a hadr…
Bose-Einstein correlations of identical hadrons produced in high- energy pp collisions at the LHC is a good instrument to probe the size of the domain which emits these hadrons in different classes of events. This provides an additional information on the dynamics of multiparticle production. In particular this way we may measure the radius of the colour tube/string which create the secondary pions.
The ALICE collaboration at the large hadron collider (LHC) recently reported high-statistics $p_t$ spectrum data from 5 TeV and 13 TeV $p$-$p$ collisions. Particle data for each energy were partitioned into event classes based on the total yields within two disjoint pseudorapidity $η$ intervals denoted by acronyms V0M and SPD. For each energy the spectra resulting from the two selection methods were then compared to a minimum-bias INEL $> 0$ average over the entire event population. The nominal goal was determination of the role of jets in high-multiplicity $p$-$p$ collisions and especially th…
