We systematically construct tetraquark currents of $I^GJ^{PC}=1^-1^{++}$ and classify them into types $\mathbf{A}$ (antisymmetric), $\mathbf{S}$ (symmetric) and $\mathbf{M}$ (mixed), based on flavor symmetries of diquarks and antidiquarks composing the tetra quark currents. We use tetraquark currents of type $\mathbf{M}$ to perform QCD sum rule analyses, and find a tetraquark current $η^M_{5μ}$ with quark contents $q s\bar q \bar s$($q=u$ or $d$) leading to a mass of $1.44 \pm 0.08$ GeV consistent with the $a_1(1420)$ state recently observed by the COMPASS collaboration. Our results support tetraquark explanations for both $a_1(1420)$ and $f_1(1420)$, assuming that they are isospin partners. We also study their possible decay patterns. As tetraquark candidates, the possible decay modes of $a_1(1420)$ are $S$-wave $a_1(1420) \rightarrow K^*(892)K$ and $P$-wave $a_1(1420)\rightarrow f_0(980) π$ while the possible decay patterns of $f_1(1420)$ are $S$-wave $f_1(1420) \rightarrow K^*(892)K$ and $P$-wave $f_1(1420) \rightarrow a_0(980) π$. We speculate that $a_1(1420)$ is partly responsible for the large isospin violation in the $η(1405)\to f_0(980)π_0$ decay mode which is reported by BESIII collaboration in the $J/ψ\toγ3π$ process.
New data for X(3872) production in B decays provide a separation between X production and decay, sharpen several experimental puzzles and impose serious constraints on all models. Both charged and neutral B decays produce a narrow neutral resonant state that decays to both J/ψρand J/ψω, while no charged resonances in the same multiplet are found. This suggests that the X is an isoscalar resonance whose production conserves isospin, while isospin is violated only in the decay by an electromagnetic interaction allowing the isospin-forbidden J/ψρdecay. A tetraquark isoscalar X model is proposed w…
In the simple color-magnetic interaction model, we investigate possible ground $cs\bar{c}\bar{s}$ tetraquark states in the diquark-antidiquark basis. We use several methods to estimate the mass spectrum and discuss possible assignment for the $X$ states observed in the $J/ψϕ$ channel. We find that assigning the Belle $X(4350)$ as a $0^{++}$ tetraquark is consistent with the tetraquark interpretation for the $X(4140)$ and $X(4270)$ while the interpretation of the $X(4500)$ and $X(4700)$ needs orbital or radial excitation. There probably exist several tetraquarks around 4.3 GeV that decay into $…
We present a study of the isospin-violating one-pion strong decays of single heavy tetraquarks $X_Q = X(s q \bar q \bar Q)$, $Q=c, b$, and $q=u, d$ with spin-parity $J^P = 0^+$. We assume that the tetraquarks have the configuration of a color diquark and a antidiquark. Three mechanisms of isospin violation can contribute to the decay rate: (1) mixing of the $X(s u \bar u \bar Q)$ and $X(s d \bar d \bar Q)$ tetraquark currents, (2) an explicit $m_d-m_u$ quark mass difference in the quark diagrams describing the corresponding decay transitions and (3) $π^0-η$ mixing in the final state. Our main …
The observed mass pattern of scalar resonances below 1 GeV gives preference to the tetraquark assignment over the conventional $\bar qq$ assignment for these states. We present a search for tetraquarks with isospins 0, 1/2, 1 in lattice QCD, where the isospin channels 1/2 and 1 have not been studied before. We determine three energy levels in each isospin channel using the variational method. The scattering states and possible tetraquark states are distinguished by considering the volume-dependence of spectral weights and by considering the time-dependence of correlators near t~T/2. We find no…
Flavor-exotic tetraquark mesons have recently been observed in the heavy-quark pair sectors of QCD, including two isospin multiplets in the b b-bar sector, Z_b(10610) and Z_b(10650), and one isospin multiplet in the c c-bar sector, Z_c(3900). We identify Z_b and Z_c as tetraquark mesons that are analogs of quarkonium hybrids with the gluon field replaced by an isospin-1 excitation of the light-quark fields. Given the identification of Y(4260) and Z_c(3900) as a ground-state charmonium hybrid and tetraquark, respectively, lattice QCD calculations of the charmonium spectrum can be used to estima…
Scalar tetraquark states are studied within the diquark-antidiquark picture in a non-relativistic approach. We consider two types of confining potentials, a quadratic and a linear one, to which we also add spin-spin, isospin-isospin, and spin-isospin interactions. We calculate the masses of the scalar diquarks and of the ground-state open and hidden charmed and bottom scalar tetraquarks. Our results indicate that the scalar resonances $D_{0}^{\ast}(2400)$ and $D_{s}(2632)$ have a sizable tetraquark amount in their wave function, while, on the other hand, it turns out that the scalar states $D_…
The observed mass pattern of scalar resonances below 1 GeV gives preference to the tetraquark assignment over the conventional $\bar qq$ assignment for these states. We present a search for tetraquarks with isospins 0,1/2,1 in lattice QCD, where isospin channels 1/2 and 1 have not been studied before. Our simulation uses Chirally Improved fermions on quenched gauge configurations. We determine three energy levels for each isospin using the variational method. The ground state is consistent with the scattering state, while the two excited states have energy above 2 GeV. Therefore we find no ind…
In the X(3872) decay, both of the J/ψππ and J/ψπππ branching fractions are observed experimentally, and their sizes are comparable to each other. In order to clarify the mechanism to cause such a large isospin violation, we investigate X(3872) employing a model of coupled-channel two-meson scattering with a ccbar core. The two-meson states consist of D0Dbar*0, D+Dbar*-, J/ψρ, and J/ψω. The effects of the ρ and ω meson width are also taken into account. We calculate the transfer strength from the ccbar core to the final two-meson states. It is found that very narrow J/ψρ and J/ψω peaks appear v…
We combine lattice QCD results for the potential of two static antiquarks in the presence of two quarks $q q$ of finite mass and quark model techniques to study possibly existing $q q \bar{b} \bar{b}$ tetraquarks. While there is strong indication for a bound four-quark state for $q q = (ud-du) / \sqrt{2}$, i.e. isospin $I=0$, we find clear evidence against the existence of corresponding tetraquarks with $q q \in \{ uu , (ud+du) / \sqrt{2} , dd \}$, i.e. isospin $I=1$, $q q = s s$ and $q q = c c$.
We investigate the recent evidence for a charged $X(5568)$ meson as an exotic open-flavor tetraquark state $su\bar b\bar d$ with $J^P=0^+/1^+$ in the framework of QCD sum rules. We use the color antisymmetric $[\mathbf{\bar 3_c}]_{su} \otimes [\mathbf{3_c}]_{\bar{b}\bar d}$ tetraquark currents in both scalar and axial-vector channels to perform evaluations and numerical analyses. Our results imply that the $X(5568)$ can be interpreted as both the scalar $su\bar b\bar d$ tetraquark state and the axial-vector one, which are in good agreement with the experimental measurement. We also discuss the…
In the present work, we investigate the scalar, axialvector and tensor doubly-charmed tetraquark molecular states without strange, with strange and with doubly-strange via the QCD sum rules, and try to make assignment of the $T^+_{cc}$ from the LHCb collaboration in the scenario of molecular states. The predictions favor assigning the $T^+_{cc}$ to be the lighter $DD^{*}$ molecular state with the spin-parity $J^P=1^+$ and isospin $I=0$, while the heavier $DD^{*}$ molecular state with the spin-parity $J^P=1^+$ and isospin $I=1$ still escapes experimental detections, the observation of the heavi…
Inspired by the detection of $T_{cc}$ tetraquark state by LHCb Collaboration, we preform a systemical investigation of the low-lying doubly heavy charm tetraquark states with strangeness in the quark delocalization color screening model in the present work. Two kinds of configurations, the meson-meson configuration and diquark-antidiquark configuration, are considered in the calculation. Our estimations indicate that the coupled channel effects play important role in the multiquark system, and a bound state with $J^{P}=1^{+}$ and a resonance state with $J^{P}=0^{+}$ have been predicted. The ma…
Following the recent confirmation of the Z+(4430) resonance with J^{PG}=1^{++}, we have re-examined the model of S- and P-wave tetraquarks. We propose a `type-II' diquark-antidiquark model which shows to be very effective at producing a simple and comprehensive picture of the J^{PG}=1^{++} and 1^{--} sectors of the recently discovered charged tetraquarks and of the observed Y resonances. The model is still faced with the unresolved difficulty of explaining why some states seem to have incomplete isospin multiplets.
Stimulated by the recent observation of the $X(5568)$, we study the $X(5568)$ and its partners under the tetraquark scenario. In the framework of the color-magnetic interaction, we estimate the masses of the partner states of the $X(5568)$ and discuss their decay pattern, which provide valuable information on the future experimental search of these states.
Motivated by the latest discovery of a new tetraquark $T_{cc}^+$ with two charm quarks and two light antiquarks by LHCb Collaboration, we investigated the $DD^*$ hadronic molecule interpretation of $T_{cc}^+$. By calculation, the mass and the decay width of this new structure $T_{cc}^+$ can be understood in one-meson exchange potential model. The binding energies for these $DD^*$ hadronic molecules with $J^P=1^+$ are around $1MeV$. Besides, we also studied the possible beauty-partners $T_{bb}(10598)$ of hadronic molecule $T^+_{cc}$, which may be feasible in future LHCb experiments.
We study strong decays of the possible fully-charm tetraquarks recently observed by LHCb, and calculate their relative branching ratios through the Fierz rearrangement. Together with our previous QCD sum rule study [Phys. Lett. B 773, 247 (2017)], our results suggest that the broad structure around $6.2$-$6.8$ GeV can be interpreted as an $S$-wave $cc\bar c \bar c$ tetraquark state with $J^{PC} = 0^{++}$ or $2^{++}$, and the narrow structure around 6.9 GeV can be interpreted as a $P$-wave one with $J^{PC} = 0^{-+}$ or $1^{-+}$. These structures were observed in the di-$J/ψ$ invariant mass spec…
We consider the relative decay rates of B0 and Bs mesons into a Jψ plus a light scalar meson either the f0(500) (σ) or the f0(980). We show that it is possible to distinguish between the quark content of the scalars being quark-antiquark or tetraquark by measuring specific ratios of decay rates. Using current data we determine the ratio of form-factors in Bs->Jψf0(980) with respect to B0->Jψf0(500) decays to be 1.02(+0.14, -0.04) at a four-momentum transfer squared equal to the mass of the Jψ meson squared. In the case where these light mesons are considered to be quark-antiquark states, we gi…
Supposing the $Z_{c}^{+}(3900)$ as a charged partner of the X(3872), we use the QCD sum rules techinques in order to obtain the coupling constants of the $Z_{c}^{+} \, J/ψ\, π^{+}$, $Z_{c}^{+}\, η_{c}\, ρ^{+}$ and $Z_{c}^{+}\,D^{+}\, \bar{D}^{*}$ vertices and the corresponding decay width of these channels. We considered that the $Z_{c}(3900)$ can be described by a tetraquark current with the $J^{PC}=1^{+-}$ quantum numbers. As a result, we obtained a decay width value in good agreement with the experimental values reported by BESIII and Belle collaborations.
We study tetraquark resonances with lattice QCD potentials computed for two static quarks and two dynamical quarks, the Born-Oppenheimer approximation and the emergent wave method of scattering theory. As a proof of concept we focus on systems with isospin $I = 0$, but consider different relative angular momenta $l$ of the heavy $b$ quarks. We compute the phase shifts and search for $\mbox{S}$ and $\mbox{T}$ matrix poles in the second Riemann sheet. We predict a new tetraquark resonance for $l = 1$, decaying into two $B$ mesons, with quantum numbers $I(J^P) = 0(1^-)$, mass $m = 10576_{-4}^{+4}…
We discuss how the latest data on X(3872) in B and B_s decays speak about its tetraquark nature. The established decay pattern, including the up to date observations by CMS, are explained by the mixing of two quasi-degenerate, unresolvable, neutral states. The same mechanism also explains isospin violations in X decays and strongly suggests that the lurking charged partners are required to have very small branching fractions in J/psi rho^pm, well below the current experimental limits. In addition, a new prediction on the decay into J/psi omega final states is attained. The newest experimental …
The LHCb Collaboration discovered a double-charm tetraquark $T_{cc}^{+}$ with a very small width. We investigate the $T_{cc}^{+}$ as a $DD^{*}$ molecule with $J^{P}=1^{+}$ in the framework of the one-boson-exchange potential model. The isospin breaking effect and $S-D$ wave coupling are taken into account carefully. We adopt the complex scaling method (CSM) to study the $DD^{*}$ system and obtain a quasibound state corresponding to the $T_{cc}^{+}$. Its binding energy relative to the $D^{0}D^{*+}$ and width are $-354$ keV and $61$ keV respectively. The isospin breaking effect is found to be en…
We have calculated the mass spectra for the $\bar{D}_s^{(*)}D^{(*)}$ molecular states and $sc\bar q\bar c$ tetraquark states with $J^P=0^+, 1^+, 2^+$. The masses of the axial-vector $\bar{D}_sD^{*}$, $\bar{D}_s^{*}D$ molecular states and $\mathbf{1}_{[sc]} \oplus \mathbf{0}_{[\bar q \bar{c}]}$, $\mathbf{0}_{[sc]} \oplus \mathbf{1}_{[\bar q \bar{c}]}$ tetraquark states are predicted to be around 3.98 GeV, which are in good agreement with the mass of $Z_{cs}(3985)^-$ from BESIII \cite{besiii2020Zcs}. In both the molecular and diquark-antidiquark pictures, our results suggest that there may exist…
We analyze various possible interpretations of the narrow state $D_{sJ}(2632)$ which lies 100 MeV above threshold. This interesting state decays mainly into $D_s η$ instead of $D^0 K^+$. If this relative branching ratio is further confirmed by other experimental groups, we point out that the identification of $D_{sJ}(2632)$ either as a $c\bar s$ state or more generally as a ${\bf {\bar 3}}$ state in the $SU(3)_F$ representation is probably problematic. Instead, such an anomalous decay pattern strongly indicates $D_{sJ}(2632)$ is a four quark state in the $SU(3)_F$ ${\bf 15}$ representation wit…
Very recently the LHCb Collaboration reported their observation of the first two fully open-flavor tetraquark states, the $X_0(2900)$ of $J^P = 0^+$ and the $X_1(2900)$ of $J^P = 1^-$. We study their possible interpretations using the method of QCD sum rules, paying special attention to an interesting feature of this experiment that the higher resonance $X_1(2900)$ has a width significantly larger than the lower one $X_0(2900)$. Our results suggest that the $X_0(2900)$ can be interpreted as the $S$-wave $D^{*-}K^{*+}$ molecule state of $J^P = 0^+$, and the $X_1(2900)$ can be interpreted as the…
Open-heavy tetraquark states, especially those contain four different quarks have drawn much attention in both theoretical and experimental fields. In the framework of the improved chromomagnetic interaction (ICMI) model, we complete a systematic study on the mass spectra and possible strong decay channels of the $S$-wave open-heavy tetraquark states, $qq\bar{q}\bar{Q}$ ($q=u,d,s$ and $Q=c,b$), with different quantum number $J^P=0^+$, $1^+$, and $2^+$. The parameters in the ICMI model are extracted from the conventional hadron spectra and used directly to predict the mass of tetraquark states.…
We study tetraquark resonances with lattice QCD potentials computed for a static bbar bbar pair in the presence of two lighter quarks u d, the Born-Oppenheimer approximation and the emergent wave method. As a proof of concept we focus on the system with isospin I = 0, but consider different relative angular momenta l of the heavy quarks bbar bbar. For l=0 a bound state has already been predicted with quantum numbers I(JP) = 0(1+). Exploring various angular momenta we now compute the phase shifts and search for S and T matrix poles in the second Riemann sheet. We predict a tetraquark resonance …
We systematically study the mass spectrum and strong decays of the S-wave $\bar c\bar s q q$ states in the compact tetraquark scenario with the quark model. The key ingredients of the model are the Coulomb, the linear confinement, and the hyperfine interactions. The hyperfine potential leads to the mixing between different color configurations, as well as the large mass splitting between the two ground states with $I(J^P)=0(0^+)$ and $I(J^P)=1(0^+)$. We calculate their strong decay amplitudes into the $\bar D^{(*)}K^{(*)}$ channels with the wave functions from the mass spectrum calculation and…
The low-lying bottomonium-like tetraquarks $b\bar{b}q\bar{q}$ $(q=u,\,d,\,s)$ with spin-parity $J^P=0^+$, $1^+$ and $2^+$, and isospin $I=0,\,1$ or $\frac{1}{2}$, are systematically investigated within the theoretical framework of real- and complex-scaling range of a chiral quark model, which has already been successfully applied in analysis of several multiquark systems. A complete four-body $S$-wave function, which includes meson-meson, diquark-antidiquark and K-type arrangements of quarks, along with all possible color configurations are considered. In the $b\bar{b}q\bar{q}$ $(q=u,\,d)$ tet…
The recent observation by the D0 collaboration of a narrow structure X(5568) consisting of four different quark flavors bdus, has not been confirmed by LHCb. More data and dedicated analyses are needed to cover a larger mass range. In the tightly bound diquark model, we estimate the lightest bdus, 0^+ tetraquark at a mass of about 5770 MeV, approximately 200 MeV above the reported X(5568), and just 7 MeV below the B Kbar threshold. The charged tetraquark is accompanied by I=1 and I=0 neutral partners almost degenerate in mass. A bdus, S-wave, 1^+ quartet at 5820 MeV is implied as well. In the …
The lowest-lying charmonium-like tetraquarks $c\bar{c}q\bar{q}$ $(q=u,\,d)$ and $c\bar{c}s\bar{s}$, with spin-parity $J^P=0^+$, $1^+$ and $2^+$, and isospin $I=0$ and $1$, are systematically investigated within the theoretical framework of complex-scaling range for a chiral quark model that has already been successfully applied in former studies of various tetra- and penta-quark systems. A four-body $S$-wave configuration which includes meson-meson, diquark-antidiquark and K-type arrangements of quarks, along with all possible color wave functions, is comprehensively considered. Several narrow…
We systematically study the chiral structure of local tetraquark currents of flavor singlet and J(P)=0(+). We also investigate their chiral partners, including scalar and pseudoscalar tetraquark currents of flavor singlet, octet, 10, 10_bar and 27. We study their chiral transformation properties. Particularly, we use the tetraquark currents belonging to the "non-exotic" [(3_bar,3)+(3,3_bar)] chiral multiplets to calculate the masses of light scalar mesons through QCD sum rule. The two-point correlation functions are calculated including all terms and only the connected parts. The results are c…
The isospin breaking effect plays an essential role in generating hadronic molecular states with a very tiny binding energy. Very recently, the LHCb Collaboration observed a very narrow doubly charmed tetraquark $T_{cc}^+$ in the $D^0D^0π$ mass spectrum, which lies just below the $D^0D^{*+}$ threshold around 273 keV. In this work, we study the $D^0D^{*+}/D^+D^{*0}$ interactions with the one-boson-exchange effective potentials and consider the isospin breaking effect carefully. We not only reproduce the mass of the newly observed $T_{cc}^+$ very well in the doubly charmed molecular tetraquark s…
Charmed tetraquarks $T_{cc}=(cc\bar{u}\bar{d})$ and $T_{cs}=(cs\bar{u}\bar{d})$ are studied through the S-wave meson-meson interactions, $D$-$D$, $\bar{K}$-$D$, $D$-$D^{*}$ and $\bar{K}$-$D^{*}$, on the basis of the (2+1)-flavor lattice QCD simulations with the pion mass $m_π \simeq $410, 570 and 700 MeV. For the charm quark, the relativistic heavy quark action is employed to treat its dynamics on the lattice. Using the HAL QCD method, we extract the S-wave potentials in lattice QCD simulations, from which the meson-meson scattering phase shifts are calculated. The phase shifts in the isospin …
In this work, an Effective Field Theory (EFT) incorporating light SU(3)-flavour and heavy quark spin symmetry is used to describe charmed meson-antimeson bound states. At Lowest Order (LO), this means that only contact range interactions among the heavy meson and antimeson fields are involved. Besides, the isospin violating decays of the X(3872) will be used to constrain the interaction between the $D$ and a $\bar{D}^*$ mesons in the isovector channel. Finally, assuming that the X(3915) and Y(4140) resonances are $D^*\bar{D}^*$ and $D_s^*\bar{D}_s^*$ molecular states, we can determine the four…
The Theta+(1540), recently observed at LEPS, DIANA and CLAS, is hypothesized to be an isotensor resonance. This implies the existence of a multiplet where the Theta++, Theta+ and Theta0 have isospin-violating strong decays, and the Theta+++ and Theta- have weak decays and so are long-lived. Production mechanisms for these states are discussed. The J^P assignment of the Theta is most likely 1/2^- or 3/2^-.
The spectrum and dominant strong decay properties of the doubly heavy baryons are revisited by using a chiral effective model with chiral partner structure. By regarding the doubly heavy baryons in the ground states and light angular momentum $j_l = 1/2$ sector of the first orbitally excited states as chiral partners to each other, we estimate the mass splitting of the chiral partners which arises from the spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry to be about $430$ MeV for baryons including an unflavored light quark and about $350$ MeV for that including a strange quark. We point out that, simil…
The $P_c(4380)^+$ and $P_c(4450)^+$ states recently discovered at LHCb have masses close to several relevant thresholds, which suggests they can be described in terms of meson-baryon degrees of freedom. This article explores the phenomenology of these states, and their possible partners, from this point of view. Competing models can be distinguished by the masses of the neutral partners which have yet to be observed, and the existence or otherwise of further partners with different isospin, spin, and parity. Future experimental studies in different decay channels can also discriminate among mo…
The recently observed Y(4260) lies far above the decay threshold with a width less than 100 MeV. We argue that it's very difficult to accommodate Y(4260) as a conventional $c\bar c$ radial excitation or a D-wave state. It can't be a hadronic molecule. Its production mechanism and special decay pattern do not favor the glueball interpretation. If Y(4260) is a scalar tetraquark, it must be produced by the I=0 component of the virtual photon. Then the $I=1, I_z=0$ component of the virtual photon should have produced its isovector partner $Y^\prime (4260)$, which may be searched for in the decay c…
Stimulated by the state $Y(4626)$ recently reported by Belle Collaboration, we utilize a multiquark color flux-tube model with a multibody confinement potential and one-glue-exchange interaction to make an exhaustive investigation on the diquark-antidiquark state $[cs][\bar{c}\bar{s}]$. Numerical results indicate that the appearance of the states $[cs][\bar{c}\bar{s}]$ like a dumb-bell, the larger the orbital excitation $L$, the more distinguished the shape. The mixing of the color configurations $\left[[cs]_{\bar{\mathbf{3}}_c}[\bar{c}\bar{s}]_{\mathbf{3}_c}\right]_{\mathbf{1}}$ and $\left[[c…
Recently, the BES collaboration observed a broad resonant structure X(1576) with a large width being around 800 MeV and assigned its $J^{PC}$ number to $1^{--}$. We show that the isospin of this resonant structure should be assigned to 1. This state might be a molecule state or a tetraquark state. We study the consequences of a possible $K^*(892)$-${\bar κ}$ molecular interpretation. In this scenario, the broad width can easily be understood. By using the data of $B(J/ψ\to Xπ^0)\cdot B(X\to K^+K^-)$, the branching ratios $B(J/ψ\to Xπ^0)\cdot B(X\to π^+π^-)$ and $B(J/ψ\to Xπ^0)\cdot B(X\to K^+K…
We introduce the hypothesis that diquarks and antidiquarks in tetraquarks are separated by a potential barrier. We show that this notion can answer satisfactorily long standing questions challenging the diquark-antidiquark model of exotic resonances. The tetraquark description of X and Z resonances is shown to be compatible with present limits on the non-observation of charged partners X^+-, of the X(3872) and the absence of a hyperfine splitting between two different neutral states. In the same picture, Z_c and Z_b particles are expected to form complete isospin triplets plus singlets. It is …
We investigate the newly observed $X(4500)$ and $X(4700)$ based on the diquark-antidiquark configuration within the framework of QCD sum rules. Both of them may be interpreted as the $D$-wave $cs\bar{c}\bar{s}$ tetraquark states of $J^P = 0^+$, but with opposite color structures, which is remarkably similar to the result obtained in Ref.~\cite{Chen:2010ze} that the $X(4140)$ and $X(4274)$ can be both interpreted as the $S$-wave $cs\bar{c}\bar{s}$ tetraquark states of $J^P = 1^+$, also with opposite color structures. However, the extracted masses and these suggested assignments to these $X$ sta…
