The angular and frequency characteristics of the gravitational radiation emitted in collisions of massless particles is studied perturbatively in the context of classical General Relativity for small values of the ratio $α\equiv 2 r_S/b$ of the Schwarzschild radius over the impact parameter. The particles are described with their trajectories, while the contribution of the leading nonlinear terms of the gravitational action is also taken into account. The old quantum results are reproduced in the zero frequency limit $ω\ll 1/b$. The radiation efficiency $ε\equiv E_{\rm rad}/2E$ outside a narrow cone of angle $α$ in the forward and backward directions with respect to the initial particle trajectories is given by $ε\sim α^2$ and is dominated by radiation with characteristic frequency $ω\sim {\mathcal O}(1/r_S)$.
In this paper, we investigate the massless Reissner-Nordstrom de Sitter metric in the context of minimal length scenarios. We prove not only the confinement of the energy density of massless charged particles, both fermions and bosons, but also their ability to tunnel through the cosmological horizon. These massless particles might be interacting with Dirac sea and in this case they will appear outside the cosmological horizon in the context of dS/CFT holography. This result may formulate a fundamental reason for the expansion of the Dirac sea. Therefore, a spacetime Big Crunch may occur.
In the context of the superstring theory, we calculate the radiation amplitude of a general massless closed string from the interaction of two parallel D$p$-branes. The background field is the constant antisymmetric tensor $B_{μν}$, and the branes have been equipped with the different $U(1)$ gauge fields. For the large distance of the branes, the Kalb-Ramond emission will be investigated.
Classical soft graviton theorem gives the gravitational wave-form at future null infinity at late retarded time $u$ for a general classical scattering. The large $u$ expansion has three known universal terms: the constant term, the term proportional to $1/u$ and the term proportional to $\ln u/u^2$, whose coefficients are determined solely in terms of the momenta of incoming and the outgoing hard particles, including the momenta carried by outgoing gravitational and electromagnetic radiation produced during scattering. For the constant term, also known as the memory effect, the dependence on t…
In the context of the bosonic string theory, we shall extract the general radiation amplitude of a massless closed string from the interaction of two parallel unstable D$p$-branes. The branes are non-stationary and have been dressed by background fields. The foregoing amplitude will be rewritten for the massless state radiation from the branes with the large distance. Besides, we shall study the gravitational and dilatonic radiations from this configuration.
How long does a light bulb shine in odd dimensional flat spacetimes, according to a distant observer? This question is non-trivial because electromagnetic and gravitational waves, despite being comprised of massless particles, can develop tails: they travel inside the light cone. To this end, I attempt to close a gap in the literature by first deriving, strictly within classical field theory, the real-time electromagnetic dipole and gravitational quadrupole energy and angular momentum radiation formulas in all relevant dimensions. The even dimensional case, where massless signals travel strict…
We numerically study the primordial black hole (PBH) formation by an isocurvature perturbation of a massless scalar field on super Hubble scales in the radiation-dominated universe. As a first step we perform simulations of spherically symmetric configurations. For the initial condition, we employ the spatial gradient expansion and provide the general form of the growing mode solutions valid up through the second order in this expansion. The initial scalar field profile is assumed to be Gaussian with a characteristic comoving wavenumber $k$; $\sim\exp(-k^2R^2)$, where $R$ is the radial coordin…
Theories with massive gravitons have peculiarity called the van Dam-Veltman-Zakharov discontinuity in that the massive theory propagator does not go to the massless graviton propagator in the zero graviton mass limit. This results in large deviation in Newtons law for massive graviton theories even when the graviton mass vanishes. We test the vDVZ in massive graviton theories for single graviton vertex process namely the gravitational radiation from a classical source. We calculate the gravitational radiation from compact binaries using the perturbative Feynman diagram method. We perform this …
Infrared dressing of bosonic or fermionic heavy particles by a cloud of massless particles to which they couple is studied as a possible production mechanism of ultra light dark matter or dark radiation in a radiation dominated cosmology. We implement an adiabatic expansion valid for wavelengths much smaller than the Hubble radius combined with a non-perturbative and manifestly unitary dynamical resummation method to study the time evolution of an initial single heavy particle state. We find a striking resemblance to the process of particle decay: the initial amplitude of the single particle d…
We derive a universal expression for the gravitational radiation energy spectrum $dE^{GW}/dω$ at sub-leading order emitted from a generic gravitational hard scattering of multi-particles or multi-bodies. Our result includes all $\mathcal{O}(ω)$ corrections to the gravitational radiation flux from a generic $2\rightarrow N$ collision, in both the cases of massless and massive particles/bodies. We also show the dependence of the radiation energy fluxby the quantum spin in case of particle collisions. Then, we consider the specific case of a gravitational elastic scattering of two massive bodies,…
