We harness the freedom in the celebrated gauge transformation approach to generate dark solitons of coupled nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) type equations. The new approach which is purely algebraic could prove to be very useful, particularly in the construction of vector dark solitons in the fields of nonlinear optics, plasma physics and Bose-Einstein condensates. We have employed this algebraic method to coupled Gross- Pitaevskii (GP) and NLS equations and obtained dark solitons.
A new integrable (2+1)-dimensional nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation is proposed. The $N$-soliton solution is given by Gram type determinant. It is found that the localized N-soliton solution has interesting interaction behavior which shows change of amplitude of localized pulses after collisions.
In the framework of extended nonlinear Schrodinger equation (ENSE) the classification of self-similar solutions by the relation between the amplitude and phase is performed. New solutions of ENSE - ``gray soliton'' and ``gray soliton chain'' are presented. The properties of these solutions and the possibility for using theirs in physical applications are discussed.
In this paper, we report a more general class of nondegenerate soliton solutions, associated with two distinct wave numbers in different modes, for a certain class of physically important integrable two component nonlinear Schrödinger type equations through bilinearization procedure. In particular, we consider coupled nonlinear Schrödinger (CNLS) equations (both focusing as well as mixed type nonlinearities), coherently coupled nonlinear Schrödinger (CCNLS) equations and long-wave-short-wave resonance interaction (LSRI) system. We point out that the obtained general form of soliton solutions e…
We numerically investigate the long time dynamics of spatially periodic breather solutions of the 1-D nonlinear Schrödinger equation under parametric forcing of the form $f(x)=f_0 \exp(iKx)$ along with dissipation. In the absence of dissipation, robust soliton-like excitations are observed that travel with constant amplitude and velocity. With dissipation, these solitons lose energy (and amplitude) yet gain speed - a characteristic not observed in an ordinary soliton. Moreover, these novel solitons are found to be stable against random perturbations.
General $N$-solitons in three recently-proposed nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equations are presented. These nonlocal equations include the reverse-space, reverse-time, and reverse-space-time nonlinear Schrödinger equations, which are nonlocal reductions of the Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur (AKNS) hierarchy. It is shown that general $N$-solitons in these different equations can be derived from the same Riemann-Hilbert solutions of the AKNS hierarchy, except that symmetry relations on the scattering data are different for these equations. This Riemann-Hilbert framework allows us to identify new t…
In this paper, we succeed to bilinearize the $\cal{PT}$-invariant nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger (NNLS) equation through a nonstandard procedure and present more general bright soliton solutions. We achieve this by bilinearizing both the NNLS equation and its associated parity transformed complex conjugate equation in a novel way. The obtained one and two soliton solutions are invariant under combined space and time reversal transformations and are more general than the known ones. Further, by considering the two-soliton solution we bring out certain novel interaction properties of the $\cal{P…
Solitons confined in a channel are studied in the two-dimensional nonlinear Schroedinger equation. When a channel branches into two channels, a soliton is split into two solitons, if the initial kinetic energy exceeds a critical value. The branching point works as a pulse splitter. If it is below the critical value, the soliton is reflected. The critical kinetic energy for splitting is evaluated by a variational method. The variational method can be applied in the design of channel systems with reduced reflection.
We construct soliton solution of a variable coefficients nonlinear Schrödinger equation in the presence of parity reflection - time reversal $(\mathcal{PT})-$ symmetric Rosen-Morse potential using similarity transformation technique. We transform the variable coefficients nonlinear Schrödinger equation into the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with $\mathcal{PT}-$symmetric potential with certain integrability conditions. We investigate in-detail the features of the obtained soliton solutions with two different forms of dispersion parameters. Further, we analyze the nonlinear tunneling effect of …
We point out certain basic misconceptions and incorrect statements given by Gürses and Pekcan in the recent paper {\bf J. Math. Phys. 59, 051501 (2018)}. We re-emphasize the soliton solution derived by us earlier in {\bf Phys. Lett. A. 381, 2380 (2017)} for the reverse space nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation is correct and more general and contains the solutions given by Gürses and Pekcan as special cases.
The extended nonlinear Schrödinger (ENLS) equation with third-order term and fourth-order term which describes the wave propagation in the optical fibers is more accurate than the NLS equation. A study of high-order soliton matrix is presented for an ENLS equation in the framework of the Riemann-Hilbert problem (RHP). Through a standard dressing procedure and the generalized Darboux transformation (gDT), soliton matrix for simple zeros and elementary high-order zeros in the RHP for the ENLS equation are constructed. Then the N-soliton solutions and high-order soliton solutions for the ENLS equ…
We analyze initial-boundary value problems for an integrable generalization of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation formulated on the half-line. In particular, we investigate the so-called linearizable boundary conditions, which in this case are of Robin type. Furthermore, we use a particular solution to verify explicitly all the steps needed for the solution of a well-posed problem.
It is shown that the $N$-dark soliton solutions of the integrable discrete nonlinear Schrödinger (IDNLS) equation are given in terms of the Casorati determinant. The conditions for reduction, complex conjugacy and regularity for the Casorati determinant solution are also given explicitly. The relationship between the IDNLS and the relativistic Toda lattice is discussed.
We investigate the focusing coupled PT-symmetric nonlocal nonlinear Schrodinger equation employing Darboux transformation approach. We find a family of exact solutions including pairs of Bright-Bright, Dark-Dark and Bright-Dark solitons in addition to solitary waves. We show that one can convert bright bound state onto a dark bound state in a two-soliton solution by selectively fine tuning the amplitude dependent parameter. We also show that the energy in each mode remains conserved unlike the celebrated Manakov model. We also characterize the behaviour of the soliton solutions in detail. We e…
We study the integrable nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation proposed by Ablowitz and Musslimani, that is considered as a particular example of equations with parity-time ($\mathcal{PT}$) symmetric self-induced potential. We consider dynamics (including collisions) of moving solitons. Analytically we develop a collective coordinate approach based on variational methods and examine its applicability in the system. We show numerically that a single moving soliton can pass the origin and decay or be trapped at the origin and blows up at a finite time. Using a standard soliton ansatz, the varia…
The Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) of a dilute gas of bosons is well described by the three-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation (3D GPE), that is a nonlinear Schrodinger equation. By imposing a transverse confinement the BEC can travel only in the cylindrical axial direction. We show that in this case the BEC with attractive interaction admits a 3D bright soliton solution which generalizes the text-book one, that is valid in the one-dimensional limit (1D GPE). Contrary to the 1D case, the 3D bright soliton exists only below a critical number of Bosons that depends on the extent of confinemen…
We find exact solutions to nonlinear Schrödinger equation in the presence of self-steepening and self-frequency shift. These include periodic solutions and localized solutions of dark-bright type which can be {\emph{chiral}}, and chirality being controlled by sign of self steepening term. A new form of self phase modulation, which can be tuned by higher order nonlinearities as also by the initial conditions, distinct from nonlinear Schrödinger equation, characterizes these solutions. In certain nontrivial parameter domain solutions are found to satisfy {\emph{linear}} Schrödinger equation, ind…
The Nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation is widely used in everywhere of natural science. Various nonlinear excitations of the NLS equation have been found by many methods. However, except for the soliton-soliton interactions, it is very difficult to find interaction solutions between different types of nonlinear excitations. In this paper, three very simple and powerful methods, the symmetry reduction method, the truncated Painlevé analysis and the generalized tanh function expansion approach, are further developed to find interaction solutions between solitons and other types of NLS waves. E…
The Peregrine soliton is often considered as a prototype of the rogue waves. After recent advances in the semi-classical limit of the 1-D focusing Nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation this conjecture can be seen from another perspective. In the present paper, connecting deterministic and statistical approaches, we numerically demonstrate the effect of the universal local appearance of Peregrine solitons on the evolution of statistical properties of random waves. Evidences of this effect are found in recent experimental studies in the contexts of fiber optics and hydrodynamics. The present appr…
The novel inelastic collision properties of two-soliton interaction for an $n$-component coupled higher order nonlinear Schrödinger equation are studied. Some interesting features of three soliton interactions, related to the integrability of the $n$-component coupled higher order nonlinear Schrödinger equation are also discussed.
A previously unknown bright N-soliton solution for an intermediate nonlinear Schrödinger equation of focusing type is presented. This equation is constructed as a reduction of an integrable system related to a Sato equation of a 2-component KP hierarchy for certain differential--difference dispersion relations. Bright soliton solutions are obtained in the form of double Wronskian determinants.
Physically relevant soliton solutions of the resonant nonlinear Schrodinger (RNLS) equation with nontrivial boundary conditions, recently proposed for description of uniaxial waves in a cold collisionless plasma, are considered in the Hirota bilinear approach. By the Madelung representation, the model is transformed to the reaction-diffusion analog of the NLS equation for which the bilinear representation, soliton solutions and their mutual interactions are studied.
We use the Riemann-Hilbert problem to study the interaction of the soliton with radiation in the parametrically driven, damped nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The analysis is reduced to the study of a finite-dimensional dynamical system for the amplitude and phase of the soliton and the complex amplitude of the long-wavelength radiation. In contrast to previously utilised Inverse Scattering-based perturbation techniques, our approach is valid for arbitrarily large driving strengths and damping coefficients. We show that, contrary to suggestions made in literature, the complexity observed in th…
In this paper, we introduce the reverse-space and reverse-space-time nonlocal discrete derivative nonlinear Schrödinger (DNLS) equations through the nonlocal symmetry reductions of the semi-discrete Gerdjikov-Ivanov equation. The muti-soliton solutions of two types of nonlocal discrete derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equations are derived by means of the Hirota bilinear method and reduction approach. We also investigate the dynamics of soliton solutions and reveal the rich soliton structures in the reverse-space and reverse-space-time nonlocal discrete DNLS equations. Our investigation shows …
We derive a straightforward variational method to construct embedded soliton solutions of the third-order nonlinear Schödinger equation and analytically demonstrate that these solitons exist as a continuous family. We argue that a particular embedded soliton when perturbed may always relax to the adjacent one so as to make it fully stable.
An application of the Darboux transformation on a cnoidal wave background in the coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equation gives a new solution which describes a soliton moving on a cnoidal wave. This is a generalized version of the previously known soliton solutions of dark-bright pair. Here a dark soliton resides on a cnoidal wave instead of on a constant background. It also exhibits a new types of soliton solution in a self-focusing medium, which describes a breakup of a generalized dark-bright pair into another generalized dark-bright pair and an "oscillating" soliton. We calculate the shift …
We have considered cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation along with supersymmetric $\mathcal{PT}$ like potential and obtained exact stationary solutions in terms of bright and brigh-dark interacting solitons. The $\mathcal{PT}$ broken and $\mathcal{PT}$ unbroken regions are demonstrated also depicted. Connected and disconnected stable regions of bright and dark solitons are examined incorporating linear stability analysis validated by direct numerical simulations. Moreover, the strength of stability has been illustrated through excitations of bright and dark solitons.
The soliton solution of the integrable coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLS) of Manakov type is investigated by using Zakharov-Shabat (ZS) scheme. We get the bright N-solitons solution by solving the integrable uncoupled NLS of Manakov type. We also find that there is an elastic collision of the bright N-solitons.
A generalized inverse scattering method has been applied to the linear problem associated with the coupled higher order nonlinear schrödinger equation to obtain it's $N$-soliton solution. An infinite number of conserved quantities have been obtained by solving a set of coupled Riccati equations. It has been shown that the coupled system admits two different class of solutions, characterised by the number of local maxima of amplitude of the soliton.
The dynamics of soliton and quasisoliton solutions of cubic third order nonlinear Schrödinger equation is studied. The regular solitons exist due to a balance between the nonlinear terms and (linear) third order dispersion; they are not important at small $α_3$ ($α_3$ is the coefficient in the third derivative term) and vanish at $α_3 \to 0$. The most essential, at small $α_3$, is a quasisoliton emitting resonant radiation (resonantly radiating soliton). Its relationship with the other (steady) quasisoliton, called embedded soliton, is studied analytically and in numerical experiments. It is d…
We study the large order and infinite order soliton of the coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equation with the Riemann-Hilbert method. By using the Riemann-Hilbert representation for the high order Darboux dressing matrix, the large order and infinite order solitons can be analyzed directly without using inverse scattering transform. We firstly disclose the asymptotics for large order soliton, which is divided into four different regions -- the elliptic function region, the non-oscillatory region, the exponential and algebraic decay region. We verify the consistence between asymptotic expression a…
In this paper, we obtain a uniform Darboux transformation for multi-component coupled NLS equations, which can be reduced to all previous presented Darboux transformation. As a direct application, we derive the single dark soliton and multi-dark soliton solutions for multi-component coupled NLS with defocusing case and mixed focusing and defocusing case. Some exact single and two-dark solitons of three-component NLS equation are shown by plotting the picture.
We investigate the nonisospectral effects of a semi-discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation, which is a direct integrable discretisation of its continuous counterpart. Bilinear form and double casoratian solution of the equation are presented. Dynamics of solutions are analyzed. Both solitons and multiple pole solutions admit space-time localized rogue wave behavior. And more interestingly, the solutions allow blow-up at finite time $t$.
By using the Darboux transformation, we obtain two new types of exponential-and-rational mixed soliton solutions for the defocusing nonlocal nonlinear Schrodinger equation. We reveal that the first type of solution can display a large variety of interactions among two exponential solitons and two rational solitons, in which the standard elastic interaction properties are preserved and each soliton could be either the dark or antidark type. By developing the asymptotic analysis technique, we also find that the second type of solution can exhibit the elastic interactions among four mixed asympto…
In this paper, via the generalized Darboux transformation, rational soliton solutions are derived for the parity-time-symmetric nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) model with the defocusing-type nonlinearity. We find that the first-order solution can exhibit the elastic interactions of rational antidark-antidark, dark-antidark, and antidark-dark soliton pairs on a continuous wave background, but there is no phase shift for the interacting solitons. Also, we discuss the degenerate case in which only one rational dark or antidark soliton survives. Moreover, we reveal that the second-order ratio…
We study standard and nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equations obtained from the coupled NLS system of equations (Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur (AKNS) equations) by using standard and nonlocal reductions respectively. By using the Hirota bilinear method we first find soliton solutions of the coupled NLS system of equations then using the reduction formulas we find the soliton solutions of the standard and nonlocal NLS equations. We give examples for particular values of the parameters and plot the function $|q(t,x)|^2$ for the standard and nonlocal NLS equations.
The $N$-soliton solution is presented for a two-component modified nonlinear Schrödinger equation which describes the propagation of short pulses in birefringent optical fibers. The solution is found to be expressed in terms of determinants. The proof of the solution is carried out by means of an elementary theory of determinants. The generalization of the 2-component system to the multi-component system is discussed as well as a (2+1)-dimensional nonlocal equation arising from its continuum limit.
The general multi-soliton solution of the integrable coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLS) of Manakov type is investigated by using Zakharov-Shabat (ZS) scheme. We get the bright and dark multi-soliton solution using inverse scattering method of ZS scheme. Elastic and inelastic collision of N-solitons solution of the equation are also discussed.
We analyse the structure of the exact, dark and bright soliton solutions of the driven non-linear Schrödinger equation. It is found that, a wide class of solutions of the higher order non-linear Schrödinger equation with a source can also be obtained through the above procedure. Distinct parameter ranges, allowing the existence of these solutions, phase locked with their respective sources, are delineated. Conditions for obtaining non-propagating solutions are found to be quite different for both the equations. A special case, where the scale of the soliton emerges as a free parameter, is obta…
We present the explicit dark-bright three soliton solution and the associated spectral problem for the variable coefficient integrable coupled NLS equation. Using asymptotic analysis as well as graphical analysis we study the interactions in soliton complexes. We present a correlation between the soliton parameters and the interaction pattern in three soliton complexes. Using asymptotic analysis, we present a few interesting features of complex three soliton bound state and interaction of dark-bright two soliton complex with a regular soliton. Using three soliton interactions we have shown tha…
We propose an integrable system of coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equations with cubic-quintic terms describing the effects of quintic nonlinearity on the ultra-short optical soliton pulse propagation in non-Kerr media. Lax pair, conserved quantities and exact soliton solutions for the proposed integrable model are given. Explicit form of two-solitons are used to study soliton interaction showing many intriguing features including inelastic (shape changing) scattering. Another novel system of coupled equations with fifth-degree nonlinearity is derived, which represents vector generalization of …
We develop a direct method of solution for finding the bright $N$-soliton solution of the Fokas-Lenells derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The construction of the solution is performed by means of a purely algebraic procedure using an elementary theory of determinants and does not rely on the inverse scattering transform method. We present two different expressions of the solution both of which are expressed as a ratio of determinants. We then investigate the properties of the solutions and find several new features. Specifically, we derive the formula for the phase shift caused by the…
Higher order and multicomponent generalizations of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation are important in various applications, e.g., in optics. One of these equations, the integrable Sasa-Satsuma equation, has particularly interesting soliton solutions. Unfortunately the construction of multi-soliton solutions to this equation presents difficulties due to its complicated bilinearization. We discuss briefly some previous attempts and then give the correct bilinearization based on the interpretation of the Sasa-Satsuma equation as a reduction of the three-component Kadomtsev-Petvishvili hierarchy.…
The present work addresses the study and characterization of the integrability of three famous nonlinear Schrödinger equations with derivative-type nonlinearities in 1+1 dimensions. Lax pairs for these three equations are successfully obtained by means of a Miura transformation and the singular manifold method. After implementing the associated binary Darboux transformations, we are able to construct rational soliton-like solutions for those systems.
General soliton solutions to a nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation with PT-symmetry for both zero and nonzero boundary conditions {are considered} via the combination of Hirota's bilinear method and the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy reduction method. First, general $N$-soliton solutions with zero boundary conditions are constructed. Starting from the tau functions of the two-component KP hierarchy, it is shown that they can be expressed in terms of either Gramian or double Wronskian determinants. On the contrary, from the tau functions of single component KP hierarchy, genera…
Using the matrix Riemann-Hilbert factorisation approach for non-linear evolution equations (NLEEs) integrable in the sense of the inverse scattering method, we obtain, in the solitonless sector, the leading-order asymptotics as $t$ tends to plus and minus infinity of the solution to the Cauchy initial-value problem for the modified non-linear Schrodinger equation: also obtained are analogous results for two gauge-equivalent NLEEs; in particular, the derivative non-linear Schrodinger equation.
A recent development in the derivation of soliton solutions for initial-boundary value problems through Darboux transformations, motivated to reconsider solutions to the nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation on two half-lines connected via integrable defect conditions. Thereby, the Darboux transformation to construct soliton solutions is applied, while preserving the spectral boundary constraint with a time-dependent defect matrix. In this particular model, $N$-soliton solutions vanishing at infinity are constructed. Further, it is proven that solitons are transmitted through the defect indepen…
The integrable nonlocal nonlinear Schrodinger (NNLS) equation with the self-induced parity-time-symmetric potential [Phys. Rev. Lett. 110 (2013) 064105] is investigated, which is an integrable extension of the standard NLS equation. Its novel higher-order rational solitons are found using the nonlocal version of the generalized perturbation (1, N-1)-fold Darboux transformation. These rational solitons illustrate abundant wave structures for the distinct choices of parameters (e.g., the strong and weak interactions of bright and dark rational solitons). Moreover, we also explore the dynamical b…
A direct method is developed for constructing the bright $N$-soliton solution of a multi-component modified nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Specifically, the two different expressions of the solution are obtained both of which are expressed as a rational function of determinants. A simple relation is found between them by employing the properties of the Cauchy matrix. The proof of the solution reduces to the bilinear equations among the bordered determinants in which Jacobi's identity and related formulas play a central role. Last, the bright $N$-soliton solution is presented for a (2+1)-dimen…
Soliton solutions of non-linear NLS and KdV equations are related to compatibility condition between matrices M and H describing the movement of an auxilary function Psi in the x,t plane with a zero curvature condition. Non-linear equation for a function u is obtained by the compatibility equation where the matrix elements of M and H include only functions of u and its derivatives. By solving the equations of motion for Psi a soliton solution for u is obtained. Explicit calculations are made with two-dimensional and one-dimensional wave functions Psi for the NLS and KdV solitons, corresponding…
In this paper, we obtain the Nth-order rational solutions for the defocusing nonlocal nonlinear Schrodinger equation by the Darboux transformation and some limit technique. Then, via an improved asymptotic analysis method relying on the balance between different algebraic terms, we derive the explicit expressions of all asymptotic solitons of the rational solutions with the order 1<=N<=4. It turns out that the asymptotic solitons are localized in the straight or algebraic curves, and the exact solutions approach the curved asymptotic solitons with a slower rate than the straight ones. Moreover…
We present an approach to the bright soliton solution of the NLS equation from the standpoint of introducing a constant potential term in the equation. We discuss a `nongauge' bright soliton for which both the envelope and the phase depend only on the traveling variable. We also construct a family of generalized NLS equations with solitonic sech^p solutions in the traveling variable and find an exact equivalence with other nonlinear equations, such as the Korteveg-de Vries and Benjamin-Bona-Mahony equations when p=2
Considering the coupled envelope equations in nonlinear couplers, the question of integrability is attempted. It is explicitly shown that Hirota's bilinear method is one of the simple and alternative techniques to Painlevé analysis to obtain the integrability conditions of the coupled nonlinear Schrödinger (CNLS) type equations. We also show that the coupled Hirota equation introduced by Tasgal and Potasek is the next hierarchy of the inverse scattering solvable CNLS equation. The results are in agreement with the known results.
In this paper, we present the two-dimensional generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equations with the Lax pair. These equations are related to many physical phenomena in the Bose-Einstein condensates, surface waves in deep water and nonlinear optics. The existence of the Lax pair defines integrability for the partial differential equation, so the two-dimensional generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equations are integrable. We obtain bilinear forms of the two-dimensional GNLS equations. One- and two-soliton solutions are derived via the Hirota bilinear method, a procedure quite useful in the solutio…
In this paper, an extended nonlinear Schrodinger equation with higher-order that includes fifth-order dispersion with matching higher-order nonlinear terms is investigated under zero boundary condition at infinity. Carrying out the spectral analysis, a kind of matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem is formulated on the real axis. Then on basis of the resulting matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem under restriction of no reflection, multiple soliton solutions of the extended nonlinear Schrodinger equation are generated explicitly.
We show the complete integrability and the existence of optical solitons of higher order nonlinear Schrodinger equation by inverse scattering method for a wide range of values of coefficients. This is achieved first by invoking a novel connection between the integrability of a nonlinear evolution equation and the dimensions of a family of matrix Lax pairs. It is shown that Lax pairs of different dimensions lead to the same evolution equation only with the coefficients of the terms in different integer ratios. Optical solitons, thus obtained by inverse scattering method, have been found by solv…
We find that localized quantum N-body soliton states exist for a derivative nonlinear Schrodinger (DNLS) model within an extended range of coupling constant (ξ_q) given by 0 < | ξ_q | < 1/\hbar \tan [π/(N-1)]. We also observe that soliton states with both positive and negative momentum can appear for a fixed value of ξ_q. Thus the chirality property of classical DNLS solitons is not preserved at the quantum level. Furthermore, it is found that the solitons with positive (negative) chirality have positive (negative) binding energy.
The integrable vector nonlinear Schrodinger (vector NLS) equation is investigated by using Zakharov-Shabat (ZS) scheme. We get a Lax pair formulation of the vector NLS model. Multi-soliton solution of the equation is also derived by using inverse scattering method of ZS scheme. We also find that there is an elastic and inelastic collision of the bright and dark multi-solitons of the system.
In this paper, a general bright-dark soliton solution in the form of Pfaffian is constructed for an integrable semi-discrete vector NLS equation via Hirota's bilinear method. One- and two-bright-dark soliton solutions are explicitly presented for two-component semi-discrete NLS equation; two-bright-one-dark, and one-bright-two-dark soliton solutions are also given explicitly for three-component semi-discrete NLS equation. The asymptotic behavior is analysed for two-soliton solutions.
In this paper, we consider a general form of nonlinear Schrödinger equation with time-dependent nonlinearity. Based on the linear eigenvalue problem, the complete integrability of such nonlinear Schrödinger equation is identified by admitting an infinite number of conservation laws. Using the Darboux transformation method, we obtain some explicit bright multi-soliton solutions in a recursive manner. The propagation characteristic of solitons and their interactions under the periodic plane wave background are discussed. Finally, the modulational instability of solutions is analyzed in the prese…
