Construction of multiple soliton solutions of the quintic nonlinear Schrodinger equation

In this paper, an extended nonlinear Schrodinger equation with higher-order that includes fifth-order dispersion with matching higher-order nonlinear terms is investigated under zero boundary condition at infinity. Carrying out the spectral analysis, a kind of matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem is formulated on the real axis. Then on basis of the resulting matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem under restriction of no reflection, multiple soliton solutions of the extended nonlinear Schrodinger equation are generated explicitly.

Symmetry classification of variable coefficient cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equations

A Lie-algebraic classification of the variable coefficient cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equations involving 5 arbitrary functions of space and time is performed under the action of equivalence transformations. It is shown that their symmetry group can be at most four-dimensional in the genuine cubic-quintic nonlinearity. It is only five-dimensional (isomorphic to the Galilei similitude algebra gs(1)) when the equations are of cubic type, and six-dimensional (isomorphic to the Schrödinger algebra sch(1)) when they are of quintic type.

Hamiltonian form of extended cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation in a nonlinear Klein-Gordon model

We derive an extended cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation with Hamiltonian structure in a nonlinear Klein-Gordon model with cubic-quintic nonlinearity. We use the nonlinear dispersion relation to properly take into account the input of high-order nonlinear effects in the Hamiltonian perturbation approach to nonlinear modulation. We demonstrate that changing the balance between the cubic and quintic nonlinearities has a significant effect on the stability of unmodulated wave packets to long-wave modulations.

Coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equations with cubic-quintic nonlinearity: Integrability and soliton interaction in non-Kerr media

We propose an integrable system of coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equations with cubic-quintic terms describing the effects of quintic nonlinearity on the ultra-short optical soliton pulse propagation in non-Kerr media. Lax pair, conserved quantities and exact soliton solutions for the proposed integrable model are given. Polarized solitons in a cubic-quintic medium

The interaction of both scalar and counter-rotating polarized steady state pulses (SSP) is studied numerically for a medium characterized by nonlinear susceptibilities of the third and the fifth order (a cubic-quintic medium with,$χ_{3}>0,χ_{5}<0$). The collision of two plateau-shaped solitons proved to be essentially inelastic, as a number of secondary elliptically polarized solitary waves arise as a result of interaction of steady-state pulses.

Integrability of local and nonlocal non-commutative fourth order quintic nonlinear Schrodinger equations

We prove integrability of a generalised non-commutative fourth order quintic nonlinear Schrodinger equation. The proof is relatively succinct and rooted in the linearisation method pioneered by Ch. Poppe. It is based on solving the corresponding linearised partial differential system to generate an evolutionary Hankel operator for the `scattering data'. Exact Localized Solutions of Quintic Discrete Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation

We study a new quintic discrete nonlinear Schrödinger (QDNLS) equation which reduces naturally to an interesting symmetric difference equation of the form $ϕ_{n+1}+ϕ_{n-1}=F(ϕ_n)$. Integrability of the symmetric mapping is checked by singularity confinement criteria and growth properties. Some new exact localized solutions for integrable cases are presented for certain sets of parameters. In this paper we bring into attention variable coefficient cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equations which admit Lie symmetry algebras of dimension four. Stable NLS solitons in a cubic-quintic medium with a delta-function potential

We study the one-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation with the cubic-quintic combination of attractive and repulsive nonlinearities, and a trapping potential represented by a delta-function. Using Painlevé analysis, the Hirota multi-linear method and a direct ansatz technique, we study analytic solutions of the (1+1)-dimensional complex cubic and quintic Swift-Hohenberg equations. Bright N-solitons for the intermediate nonlinear Schrödinger equation

A previously unknown bright N-soliton solution for an intermediate nonlinear Schrödinger equation of focusing type is presented. This equation is constructed as a reduction of an integrable system related to a Sato equation of a 2-component KP hierarchy for certain differential--difference dispersion relations. Bright soliton solutions are obtained in the form of double Wronskian determinants.

Localized Solitons of a (2+1)-dimensional Nonlocal Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation

A new integrable (2+1)-dimensional nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation is proposed. The $N$-soliton solution is given by Gram type determinant. It is found that the localized N-soliton solution has interesting interaction behavior which shows change of amplitude of localized pulses after collisions.

Gray soliton solution in the extended nonlinear Schrodinger equation

In the framework of extended nonlinear Schrodinger equation (ENSE) the classification of self-similar solutions by the relation between the amplitude and phase is performed. Soliton Solution of the Integrable Coupled Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation of Manakov Type

The soliton solution of the integrable coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLS) of Manakov type is investigated by using Zakharov-Shabat (ZS) scheme. We get the bright N-solitons solution by solving the integrable uncoupled NLS of Manakov type. We also find that there is an elastic collision of the bright N-solitons.
