Dressing Actions on Proper Definite Affine Spheres

We will first clarify the loop group formulations for both hyperbolic and elliptic definite affine spheres in R^3. Then we classify the rational elements with 3 poles or 6 poles in a real twisted loop group, and compute dressing actions of them on such surfaces. Some new examples with pictures will be produced at last.

Tzitzéica transformation is a dressing action

We classify the simplest rational elements in a twisted loop group, and prove that dressing actions of them on proper indefinite affine spheres give the classical Tzitzéica transformation and its dual. We also give the group point of view of the Permutability Theorem, construct complex Tzitzéica transformations, and discuss the group structure for these transformations.

Ordering Positive Definite Matrices

We introduce new partial orders on the set $S^+_n$ of positive-definite matrices of dimension $n$ derived from the homogeneous geometry of $S^+_n$ induced by the natural transitive action of the general linear group $GL(n)$. The orders are induced by affine-invariant cone fields, which arise naturally from a local analysis of the orders that are compatible with the homogeneous structure of $S^+_n$. We classify tube domains in $\mathbb C^{n+1}$ ($n\ge 1$) with affinely homogeneous base of their boundary and a.) with positive definite Levi form and b.) with Lorentzian type Levi form and affine isotropy of dimension at least $\frac{(n-2)(n-3)}2$.

Is affine invariance well defined on SPD matrices? A principled continuum of metrics

Symmetric Positive Definite (SPD) matrices have been widely used in medical data analysis and a number of different Riemannian met-rics were proposed to compute with them. Realisation of special Kaehler manifolds as parabolic spheres

We prove that any simply connected special Kaehler manifold admits a canonical immersion as a parabolic affine hypersphere. As an application, we associate a parabolic affine hypersphere to any nondegenerate holomorphic function. Also we show that a classical result of Calabi and Pogorelov on parabolic spheres implies Lu's theorem on complete special Kaehler manifolds with a positive definite metric.

Survey on real forms of the complex $A_2^{(2)}$-Toda equation and surface theory

The classical result of describing harmonic maps from surfaces into symmetric spaces of reductive Lie groups states that the Maurer-Cartan form with an additional parameter, the so-called loop parameter, is integrable for all values of the loop parameter. Riemannian Geometry of Symmetric Positive Definite Matrices via Cholesky Decomposition

We present a new Riemannian metric, termed Log-Cholesky metric, on the manifold of symmetric positive definite (SPD) matrices via Cholesky decomposition. We first construct a Lie group structure and a bi-invariant metric on Cholesky space, the collection of lower triangular matrices whose diagonal elements are all positive. Such group structure and metric are then pushed forward to the space of SPD matrices via the inverse of Cholesky decomposition that is a bijective map between Cholesky space and SPD matrix space.
