This paper investigates the problem of recovering the support of structured signals via adaptive compressive sensing. We examine several classes of structured support sets, and characterize the fundamental limits of accurately recovering such sets through compressive measurements, while simultaneously providing adaptive support recovery protocols that perform near optimally for these classes. We show that by adaptively designing the sensing matrix we can attain significant performance gains over non-adaptive protocols. These gains arise from the fact that adaptive sensing can: (i) better mitigate the effects of noise, and (ii) better capitalize on the structure of the support sets.
The literature on compressed sensing has focused almost entirely on settings where the signal is noiseless and the measurements are contaminated by noise. In practice, however, the signal itself is often subject to random noise prior to measurement. We tackle the issue of varying group size via group-sparse least absolute shrinkage selection operator (LASSO) as well as via latent group LASSO regularizations. This letter proposes a low-computational Bayesian algorithm for noisy sparse recovery in the context of one bit compressed sensing with sensing matrix perturbation. The proposed algorithm which is called BHT-MLE comprises a sparse support detector and an amplitude estimator. The support detector utilizes Bayesian hypothesis test, while the amplitude estimator uses an ML estimator which is obtained by solving a convex optimization problem. Simulation results show that BHT-MLE algorithm offers more reconstruction accuracy than that of an ML estimator (MLE) at a low computational cost.
In this paper, we propose majority voting neural networks for sparse signal recovery in binary compressed sensing. The majority voting neural network is composed of several independently trained feedforward neural networks employing the sigmoid function as an activation function. We give a new, very general, formulation of the compressed sensing problem in terms of coordinate projections of an analytic variety, and derive sufficient sampling rates for signal reconstruction. Our bounds are linear in the coherence of the signal space, a geometric parameter independent of the specific signal and measurement, and logarithmic in the ambient dimension where the signal is presented. We exemplify our approach by deriving sufficient sampling densities for low-rank matrix completion and distance matrix completion which are independent of the true matrix.
Performance guarantees for compression in nonlinear models under non-Gaussian observations can be achieved through the use of distributional characteristics that are sensitive to the distance to normality, and which in particular return the value of zero under Gaussian or linear sensing. The use of these characteristics, or discrepancies, improves some previous results in this area by relaxing conditions and tightening performance bounds. In addition, these characteristics are tractable to compute when Gaussian sensing is corrupted by either additive errors or mixing.
