In this paper we study the dynamics of trajectory of a spinning particle in a Schwarzschild spacetime involving a global monopole. We set up the equations of motion and find three types of trajectories. We study the conditions that a spinning particle, originally moving in the innermost stable circular orbit around the black hole involving a global monopole, will escape to infinity after it is kicked by another particle or photon. Three types of trajectories of a spinning particle in a Schwarzschild spacetime involving a global monopole are simulated in detail and the escaping energy and velocity of the spinning particle is also obtained in the present paper.

The singular field of a point charge has recently been described in terms of a new Green's function of curved spacetime. This singular field plays an important role in the calculation of the self-force acting upon the particle. We provide a method for calculating the singular field and a catalog of expansions of the singular field associated with the geodesic motion of monopole and dipole sources for scalar, electromagnetic and gravitational fields. These results can be used, for example, to calculate the effects of the self-force acting on a particle as it moves through spacetime.
In this paper, we study Hawking radiation as a massless particles tunneling process across the event horizon from the Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordström black holes pierced by an infinitely long spinning cosmic string and a global monopole. Applying the WKB approximation and using a generalized Painlevé line element for stationary axisymmetric spacetimes, also by taking into account that the ADM mass of the black hole decreases due to the presence of topological defects, it is shown that the Hawking temperature remains unchanged for these black holes. The tunneling of charged massive particl…
Integrable spinning extension of a free particle on 2-sphere is constructed in which spin degrees of freedom are represented by a 3-vector obeying the Bianchi type-V algebra. Generalizations involving a scalar potential giving rise to two quadratic constants of the motion, or external field of the Dirac monopole, or the motion on the group manifold of SU(2) are built. A link to the model of a relativistic spinning particle propagating on the near horizon 7d Myers-Perry black hole background is considered. Implications of the construction in this work for the D(2,1;a) superconformal mechanics a…
The spinning-hairy black holes that occur in Einstein gravity supplemented by a doublet of complex scalar fields are constructed within an extension of the model by a $U(1)$ gauge symmetry involving a massless vector potential. The hairy black holes then acquire an electric charge and a magnetic moment; their domain of existence is discussed in terms of the gauge coupling constant.
The Blandford-Znajek (BZ) mechanism describes a physical process for the energy extraction from a spinning black hole (BH), which is believed to power a great variety of astrophysical sources, such as active galactic nuclei (AGNs) and Gamma ray bursts (GRBs). The only known analytic solution to the BZ mechanism is a split monopole perturbation solution up to $O(a^2)$, where $a$ is the spin parameter of a Kerr black hole. In this paper, we extend the monopole solution to higher order $\sim O(a^4)$. We carefully investigate the structure of the BH magnetosphere, including the angular velocity of…
We study the existence of classical soliton solutions with intrinsic angular momentum in Yang-Mills-Higgs theory with a compact gauge group $\mathcal{G}$ in (3+1)-dimensional Minkowski space. We show that for \textit{symmetric} gauge fields the Noether charges corresponding to \textit{rigid} spatial symmetries, as the angular momentum, can be expressed in terms of \textit{surface} integrals. Using this result, we demonstrate in the case of $\mathcal{G}=SU(2)$ the nonexistence of stationary and axially symmetric spinning excitations for all known topological solitons in the one-soliton sector, …
The radiation reaction in compact spinning binaries on eccentric orbits due to the quadrupole-monopole interaction is studied. This contribution is of second post-Newtonian order. As result of the precession of spins the magnitude $L$ of the orbital angular momentum is not conserved. Therefore a proper characterization of the perturbed radial motion is provided by the energy $E$ and angular average $\bar{L}$. As powerful computing tools, the generalized true and eccentric anomaly parametrizations are introduced. Then the secular losses in energy and magnitude of orbital angular momentum togeth…
Using a recent, novel Hamiltonian formulation of the gravitational interaction of spinning binaries, we extend the Effective One Body (EOB) description of the dynamics of two spinning black holes to next-to-leading order (NLO) in the spin-orbit interaction. The spin-dependent EOB Hamiltonian is constructed from four main ingredients: (i) a transformation between the ``effective'' Hamiltonian and the ``real'' one, (ii) a generalized effective Hamilton-Jacobi equation involving higher powers of the momenta, (iii) a Kerr-type effective metric (with Padé-resummed coefficients) which depends on the…
Electrostatics on global Anti-de-Sitter (AdS) spacetime is sharply different from that on global Minkowski spacetime. It admits a multipolar expansion with everywhere regular, finite energy solutions, for every multipole moment except the monopole (arXiv:1507.04370). A similar statement holds for global AdS magnetostatics. We show that everywhere regular, finite energy, electric plus magnetic fields exist on AdS in three distinct classes: $(I)$ with non-vanishing total angular momentum $J$; $(II)$ with vanishing $J$ but non-zero angular momentum density, $T^t_φ$; $(III)$ with vanishing $J$ and…
We analyze in detail the spin precession equations in binary black hole systems, when the tidal torque on a Kerr black hole due to quadrupole-monopole coupling is taken into account. We show that completing the precession equations with this term reveals the existence of a conserved quantity at 2PN order when averaging over orbital motion. This quantity allows one to solve the (orbit-averaged) precession equations exactly in the case of equal masses and arbitrary spins, neglecting radiation reaction. For unequal masses, an exact solution does not exist in closed form, but we are still able to …
The excitation of $f$-mode in a neutron star member of coalescing binaries accelerates the merger course, and thereby introduces a phase shift in the gravitational waveform. Emphasising on the tidal phase shift by aligned, rotating stars, we provide an accurate, yet economical, method to generate $f$-mode-involved, pre-merger waveforms using realistic spin-modulated $f$-mode frequencies for some viable equations of state. We find for slow-rotating stars that the dephasing effects of the dynamical tides can be uniquely, EOS-independently determined by the direct observables (chirp mass ${\cal M…
We study quantum tunneling of charged and uncharged scalar particles from the event horizon of Schwarzschild-de Sitter and Reissner-Nordström-de Sitter black holes pierced by an infinitely long spinning cosmic string and a global monopole. In order to find the Hawking temperature and the tunneling probability we solve the Klein-Gordon equation by using the Hamilton-Jacobi method and WKB approximation. We show that Hawking temperature is independent of the presence of topological defects in both cases.
We study Hawking radiation of Dirac particles with spin-$1/2$ as a tunneling process from Schwarzschild-de Sitter and Reissner-Nordström-de Sitter black holes in background spacetimes with a spinning cosmic string and a global monopole. Solving Dirac's equation by employing the Hamilton-Jacobi method and WKB approximation we find the corresponding tunneling probabilities and the Hawking temperature. Furthermore, we show that the Hawking temperature of those black holes remains unchanged in presence of topological defects in both cases.
We review the current status of the problem of constructing classical field theory solutions describing stationary vortex rings in Minkowski space in 3+1 dimensions. We describe the known up to date solutions of this type, such as the static knot solitons stabilized by the topological Hopf charge, the attempts to gauge them, the anomalous solitons stabilized by the Chern-Simons number, as well as the non-Abelian monopole and sphaleron rings. Passing to the rotating solutions, we first discuss the conditions insuring that they do not radiate, and then describe the spinning $Q$-balls, their twis…
The topological nature of Chern-Simons term describing the interaction of a charge with magnetic monopole is manifested in two ways: it changes the plane dynamical geometry of a free particle for the cone dynamical geometry without distorting the free (geodesic) character of the motion, and in the limit of zero charge's mass it describes a spin system. This observation allows us to interpret the charge-monopole system alternatively as a free particle of fixed spin with translational and spin degrees of freedom interacting via the helicity constraint, or as a symmetric spinning top with dynamic…
We study a method to solve stationary axisymmetric vacuum Einstein equations numerically. As an illustration, the five-dimensional doubly spinning black rings that have two independent angular momenta are formulated in a way suitable for fully nonlinear numerical method. Expanding for small second angular velocity, the formulation is solved perturbatively upto second order involving the backreaction from the second spin. The obtained solutions are regular without conical singularity, and the physical properties are discussed with the phase diagram of the reduced entropy vs the reduced angular …
We develop a systematic framework to compute the conformal partial wave expansions (CPWEs) of tree-level four-point Witten diagrams with totally symmetric external fields of arbitrary mass and integer spin in AdS$_{d+1}$. Employing this framework, we determine the CPWE of a generic exchange Witten diagram with spinning exchanged field. As an intermediate step, we diagonalise the linear map between spinning three-point conformal structures and spinning cubic couplings in AdS. As a concrete application, we compute all exchange diagrams in the type A higher-spin gauge theory on AdS$_{d+1}$, which…
If there exist higher-spin particles during inflation which are light compared to the Hubble rate, they may leave distinct statistical anisotropic imprints on the correlators involving scalar and graviton fluctuations. We characterise such signatures using the dS/CFT$_3$ correspondence and the operator product expansion techniques. In particular, we obtain generic results for the case of partially massless higher-spin states.
A classical spinning particle based on the Kerr-Newman black hole (BH) solution is considered. For parameters of spinning particles $|a|>>m$, the BH horizons disappear and BH image is drastically changed. We show that it turns into a skeleton formed by two coupled stringy systems. One of them is the Kerr singular ring which can be considered as a circular D-string with an orientifold world-sheet. Analyzing the aligned to the Kerr congruence electromagnetic excitations of this string, we obtain the second stringy system which consists of two axial half-infinite chiral D-strings. These axial str…
We consider the evolution of black hole involving an $f(R)$ global monopole based on the Extended Uncertainty Principle (EUP). The black hole evolutions refer to the instability due to the Parikh-Kraus-Wilczeck tunneling radiation or fragmentation. It is found that the EUP corrections make the entropy difference larger to encourage the black hole to radiate more greatly. We also show that the appearance of the EUP effects result in the black hole's division. The influence from global monopole and the revision of general relativity can also adjust the black hole evolution simultaneously, but ca…
We examine the rotation of the plane of polarization for linearly polarized light rays by the weak gravitational field of an isolated physical system. Based on the rotation of inertial frames, we review the general integral expression for the net rotation. We apply this formula, analogue to the usual electromagnetic Faraday effect, to some interesting astrophysical systems: uniformly shifting mass monopoles and a spinning external shell.
The existence of stable bound orbits of test particles is one of the most characteristic properties in black hole spacetimes. In higher-dimensional black holes, due to the dimensionality of gravity, there is no stable bound orbit balanced by Newtonian gravitational monopole force and centrifugal force as in the same mechanism of the four-dimensional Kerr black hole case. In this paper, however, the existence of stable bound orbits of massive and massless particles is shown in six-dimensional singly spinning Myers-Perry black holes with a value of the spin parameter larger than a critical value…
Starting from the leading soft term of the 5-point amplitude, involving a graviton and two Kerr black holes, that factorises into the product of the elastic amplitude without the graviton and the leading soft factor, we compute the infrared divergent contribution to the imaginary part of the two-loop eikonal. Then, using analyticity and crossing symmetry, we determine the radiative contribution to the real part of the two-loop eikonal and from it the radiative part of the deflection angle for spins aligned to the orbital angular momentum, the loss of angular momentum and the zero frequency lim…
A model of the gravitational dipole is proposed in a close analogy to that of the global monopole. The physical properties and the range of validity of the model are examined as is the motion of test particles in the dipole background. It is found that the metric of the gravitational dipole describes a curved space-time, so one would expect it to have a more pronounced effect on the motion of the test particles than the spinning cosmic string. It is indeed so and in the generic case the impact of repulsive centrifugal force results in a motion whose orbits when projected on the equatorial plan…
The gravitomagnetic monopole is the proposed gravitational analogue of Dirac's magnetic monopole. However, an observational evidence of this aspect of fundamental physics was elusive. Here, we employ a technique involving three primary X-ray observational methods used to measure a black hole spin to search for the gravitomagnetic monopole. These independent methods give significantly different spin values for an accreting black hole. We demonstrate that the inclusion of one extra parameter due to the gravitomagnetic monopole not only makes the spin and other parameter values inferred from the …
In this work we investigate the neutrino pair annihilation around a gravitational object involving an $f(R)$ global monopole. We derive and calculate the ratio $\frac{\dot{Q}}{\dot{Q_{Newt}}}$ meaning that the energy deposition per unit time is over that in the Newtonian case. It is found that the more deviation from general relativity leads more energy to set free from the annihilation with greater ratio value. It should also be pointed out that the existence of global monopole makes a sharp increase in the ratio $\frac{\dot{Q}}{\dot{Q_{Newt}}}$, causing heavier gamma-ray burst. We also discu…
Ringdown of a postinnermost stable circular orbit of a rapidly spinning black hole: Mass ratio dependence of higher harmonic quasinormal mode excitation
Blandford-Znajek (BZ) mechanism describes a process extracting rotation energy from a spinning black hole (BH) via magnetic field lines penetrating the event horizon of central BH. In this paper, we present a perturbation approach to study force-free jets launched by the BZ mechanism, and its two immediate applications: (1) we present a high-order split monopole perturbation solution to the BZ mechanism, which accurately pins down the energy extraction rate $\dot E$ and well describes the structure of BH magnetosphere for all range of BH spins ($0\leq a\leq 1$); (2) the approach yields an exac…

The scalar and electromagnetic fields produced by the geodesic and uniformly accelerated discrete charges in de Sitter spacetime are constructed by employing the conformal relation between de Sitter and Minkowski space. A special attention is paid to new effects arising in spacetimes which, like de Sitter space, have spacelike conformal infinities. Under the presence of particle and event horizons, purely retarded fields (appropriately defined) become necessarily singular or even cannot be constructed at the "creation light cones" -- future light cones of the "points" at which the sources "ent…
Spinning black holes tend to expel magnetic fields. In this way they are similar to superconductors. It has been a persistent concern that this black hole "Meissner effect" could quench jet power at high spins. This would make it impossible for the rapidly rotating black holes in Cyg X-1 and GRS 1915+105 to drive Blandford-Znajek jets. We give a simple geometrical argument why fields which become entirely radial near the horizon are not expelled by the Meissner effect and may continue to power jets up to the extremal limit. A simple and natural example is a split-monopole field. We stress that…
We study the prospects of detecting continuous gravitational waves (CGWs) from spinning neutron stars (NSs), gravitationally lensed by the galactic supermassive black hole. Assuming various astrophysically motivated spatial distributions of galactic NSs, we find that CGW signals from a few ($\sim 0-6$) neutron stars should be strongly lensed. Lensing will produce two copies of the signal (with time delays of seconds to minutes) that will interfere with each other. The relative motion of the NS with respect to the lensing optical axis will change the interference pattern, which will help us to …
The spin Hall effects of light represent a diverse class of polarization-dependent physical phenomena involving the dynamics of electromagnetic wave packets. In a medium with an inhomogeneous refractive index, wave packets can be effectively described by massless spinning particles following polarization-dependent trajectories. Similarly, in curved spacetime the gravitational spin Hall effect of light is represented by polarization-dependent deviations from null geodesics. In this paper, we analyze the equations of motion describing the gravitational spin Hall effect of light. We show that the…
We consider a general class of scalar tensor theories in three dimensions whose action contains up to second-order derivatives of the scalar field with coupling functions that only depend on the standard kinetic term of the scalar field, thus ensuring the invariance under the constant shift of the scalar field. For this model, we show that the field equations for a stationary metric ansatz together with a purely radial scalar field can be fully integrated. The kinetic term of the scalar field solution is shown to satisfy an algebraic relation depending only on the coupling functions, and hence…
We study the process, within classical general relativity, in which an incident gravitational plane wave, of weak amplitude and long wavelength, scatters off a massive spinning compact object, such as a black hole or neutron star. The amplitude of the asymptotic scattered wave, considered here at linear order in Newton's constant $G$ while at higher orders in the object's multipole expansion, is a valuable characterization of the response of the object to external gravitational fields. This amplitude coincides with a classical ($\hbar\to0$) limit of a quantum 4-point (object and graviton in, o…
The parabolic-hyperbolic form of the constraints is integrated numerically. The applied numerical stencil is $4^{th}$ order accurate (in the spatial directions) while 'time'-integration is made by using the method of lines with a $4^{th}$ order accurate Runge-Kutta scheme. The proper implementation of the applied numerical method is verified by convergence tests and monitoring the relative and absolute errors determined by comparing numerical and analytically known solutions of the constraints involving boosted and spinning vacuum single black hole configurations. The main part of our investig…
In this paper we derive for the first time the N$^3$LO gravitational spin-orbit coupling at order $G^4$ in the post-Newtonian (PN) approximation within the effective field theory (EFT) of gravitating spinning objects. This represents the first computation in a spinning sector involving three-loop integration. We provide a comprehensive account of the topologies in the worldline picture for the computation at order $G^4$. Our computation makes use of the publicly-available \texttt{EFTofPNG} code, which is extended using loop-integration techniques from particle amplitudes. We provide the result…
We study eccentric equatorial orbits of a test-body around a Kerr black hole under the influence of gravitational radiation reaction. We have adopted a well established two-step approach: assuming that the particle is moving along a geodesic (justifiable as long as the orbital evolution is adiabatic) we calculate numerically the fluxes of energy and angular momentum radiated to infinity and to the black hole horizon, via the Teukolsky-Sasaki-Nakamura formalism. We can then infer the rate of change of orbital energy and angular momentum and thus the evolution of the orbit. The orbits are fully …
We examine quantum corrections of time delay arising in the gravitational field of a spinning oblate source. Low-energy quantum effects occurring in Kerr geometry are derived within a framework where general relativity is fully seen as an effective field theory. By employing such a pattern, gravitational radiative modifications of Kerr metric are derived from the energy-momentum tensor of the source, which at lowest order in the fields is modelled as a point mass. Therefore, in order to describe a quantum corrected version of time delay in the case in which the source body has a finite extensi…
The general relativistic gravitomagnetic clock effect consists in the fact that two point particles orbiting a central spinning object along identical, circular equatorial geodesic paths, but in opposite directions, exhibit a time difference in describing a full revolution. It turns out that the particle rotating in the same sense of the central body is slower than the particle rotating in the opposite sense. In this paper it is proposed to measure such effect in an Earth laboratory experiment involving interferometry of slow neutrons. With a sphere of 2.5 cm radius and spinning at 4.3 x 10^4 …
