We review and explain the relation between U-dual branes in string theory and mixed symmetry tensors of various degrees. In certain cases these mixed symmetry tensors can be related to diverse types of fluxes that play an important role in compactifications of string theory.
In this article the action of T-duality on a mixed brane is studied in the boundary state formalism. We also obtain a two dimensional mixed brane with non-zero electric and magnetic fields, from a D$_1$-brane.
We consider D1-brane as a natural probe of the group manifold with mixed three form fluxes. We determine Lax connection for given theory. Then we switch to the canonical analysis and calculate the Poisson brackets between spatial components of Lax connections and we argue for integrability of given theory.
We present a general description of two mixed branes interactions. For this we consider two mixed branes with dimensions p_1 and p_2, in external field B_{μν} and arbitrary gauge fields A^1_{α_1} and A^2_{α_2} on the world volume of them, in spacetime in which some of its directions are compactified on circles with different radii. Some examples are considered to clear these general interactions. Finally contribution of the massless states on the interactions is extracted. Closed string with mixed boundary conditions and boundary state formalism, provide useful tools for calculation of these i…
In this article, applying different types of boundary conditions; Dirichlet, Neumann, or Mixed, on open strings we realize various new brane bound states in string theory. Calculating their interactions with other D-branes, we find their charge densities and their tension. A novel feature of $(p-2,p)$ brane bound state is its "non-commutative" nature which is manifestly seen both in the open strings mode expansions and in their scattering off a $D_p$-brane. Moreover we study three or more object bound states in string theory language. Finally we give a M-theoretic picture of these bound states…
In this article the interaction of branes at angles with respect to each other with non-zero internal gauge fields are calculated by construction of the boundary states in spacetime in which some of its directions are compact on tori. The interaction depends on both angle and fields.
We derive the noncommutative torus compactification of M(atrix) theory directly from the string theory by imposing mixed boundary conditions on the membranes. The relation of various dualities in string theory and M(atrix) theory compactification on the noncommutative torus are studied.
We consider B-type D-branes in the Gepner model consisting of two minimal models at k=2. This Gepner model is mirror to a torus theory. We establish the dictionary identifying the B-type D-branes of the Gepner model with A-type Neumann and Dirichlet branes on the torus.
Type II string theory or M-theory contains a broad spectrum of gauge potentials. In addition to the standard $p$-form potentials, various mixed-symmetry potentials have been predicted, which may couple to exotic branes with non-standard tensions. Together with $p$-forms, mixed-symmetry potentials turn out to be essential to build the multiplets of the U-duality symmetry in each dimension. In this paper, we systematically determine the set of mixed-symmetry potentials and exotic branes on the basis of the $E_{11}$ conjecture. We also study the decompositions of U-duality multiplets into T-duali…
In this article we consider open strings with mixed boundary conditions (a combination of Neumann and Dirichlet conditions at each end). We discuss how their end points show a $D_p$-brane with NS-NS charge, i.e. a bound state of a D-brane with a fundamental strings. We show that these branes are BPS saturated. In the case of one-branes, we show that their mass densities are in agreement with IIb SUGRA which is Sl(2,Z) invariant. Using Chan-Paton factors, we extend our results to the case of bound states of $n$ D-strings and $m$ F-strings. These string theoretic results are also checked in the …
We explore thick branes in $f(R,ϕ,X)$ gravity. We obtain the linear tensor perturbation equation of $f(R,ϕ,X)$ branes and show that the branes are stable against the tensor perturbations under the condition of $\frac{\partial f(R,ϕ,X)}{\partial R}>0$. In order to obtain thick brane solutions of the fourth-order field equations in this theory, we employ the reconstruction technique. We get exact solutions of the specific $f(R,ϕ,X)$ thick brane generated by a non-canonical scalar field. It is shown that the zero mode of the graviton for the thick brane is localized under certain conditions. This…
Charged scalar field is quantized in the background of a static d-2 - brane which is a core of the magnetic flux lines in flat d+1 - dimensional space-time. We find that vector potential of the magnetic core induces the energy-momentum tensor in the vacuum. The tensor components are periodic functions of the brane flux and holomorphic functions of space dimension. The dependence on the distance from the brane and on the coupling to the space-time curvature scalar is comprehensively analysed.
We present a new general topological tensor current of $\tilde{p}$-branes by making use of the $ϕ$-mapping theory. It is shown that the current is identically conserved and behave as $δ(\vecϕ),$ and every isolated zero of the vector field $\vecϕ(x)$ corresponds to a `magnetic' $\tilde{p}$-brane. Using this topological current, the generalized Nambu action for multi $\tilde{p}$-branes is given, and the field strength $F$ corresponding to this topological tensor current is obtained. It is also shown that the `magnetic' charges carried by $\tilde{p}$-branes are topologically quantized and labeled…
In this article we present a general description of two moving branes in presence of the $B_{μν}$ field and gauge fields $A^{(1)}_{α_1}$ and $A^{(2)}_{α_2}$ on them, in spacetime in which some of its directions are compact on tori. Some examples are considered to elucidate this general description. Also contribution of the massless states to the interaction is extracted. Boundary state formalism is a useful tool for these considerations.
We present the intersecting brane configurations consisting of NS-branes, D4-branes(and anti D4-branes) and O6-plane, of type IIA string theory corresponding to the meta-stable nonsupersymmetric vacua in four dimensional N=1 supersymmetric SU(N_c) x SU(N_c') x SU(N_c'') gauge theory with a symmetric tensor field, a conjugate symmetric tensor field and bifundamental fields. We also describe the intersecting brane configurations of type IIA string theory corresponding to the nonsupersymmetric meta-stable vacua in the above gauge theory with an antisymmetric tensor field, a conjugate symmetric te…
Using world-sheet parity we show that mixed D and N components of D-strings are dual to the anti-symmetric $B_{μν}$ field. The contribution of the latter is responsible for the reduction and even removal of all the interactions between two dissimilar D-branes.
We discuss the evolution of cosmological tensor perturbations in the RSII model. In Gaussian normal coordinates the wave equation is non-separable, so we use the near-brane limit to perform the separation and study the evolution of perturbations. Massive excitations, which may also mix, decay outside the horizon which could lead to some novel cosmological signatures.
Recently, a new scalar-tensor braneworld model was presented in [Phys. Rev. \textbf{D 86} (2012) 127502]. It not only solves the gauge hierarchy problem but also reproduces a correct Friedmann-like equation on the brane. In this new model, there are two different brane solutions, for which the mass spectra of gravity on the brane are the same. In this paper, we investigate localization and mass spectra of various bulk matter fields (i.e., scalar, vector, Kalb-Ramond, and fermion fields) on the brane. It is shown that the zero modes of all the matter fields can be localized on the positive tens…
Inspired by the work [Eur. Phys. J. C 78 (2018) 45], we study the linear tensor perturbation of both the flat and bent thick branes with inner structure in two-field mimetic gravity. The master equations for the linear tensor perturbations are derived by taking the transverse and traceless gauge. For the Minsowskii and Anti-de-Sitter brane, the brane systems are stable against the tensor perturbation. The effective potentials of the tensor perturbations of both the flat and bent thick branes are volcano-like, and this structure may potentially lead to the zero-mode and the resonant modes of th…
The action for the long wavelength oscillations of a non-BPS p=3 brane embedded in N=1, D=5 superspace is determined by means of the coset method. The D=4 world volume Nambu-Goldstone boson of broken translation invariance and the two D=4 world volume Weyl spinor Goldstinos of the completely broken supersymmetry describe the excitations of the brane into the broken space and superspace directions. The resulting action is an invariant synthesis of the Akulov-Volkov and Nambu-Goto actions. The D=4 antisymmetric tensor gauge theory action dual to the p=3 brane action is determined.
Vacuum expectation values of the energy-momentum tensor for a conformally coupled scalar field is investigated in de Sitter (dS) spacetime in presence of a curved brane on which the field obeys the Robin boundary condition with coordinate dependent coefficients. To generate the corresponding vacuum densities we use the conformal relation between dS and Rindler spacetimes and the results previously obtained by one of the authors for the Rindler counterpart. The resulting energy-momentum tensor is non-diagonal and induces anisotropic vacuum stresses. The asymptotic behaviour of this tensor is in…
About a decade ago, using a specific expansion scheme, effective, on-brane scalar tensor theories of gravity were proposed by Kanno and Soda (Phys.Rev. {\bf D 66} 083506 ,(2002)) in the context of the warped two brane model of Randall--Sundrum. The inter-related effective theories on both the branes were derived with the space-time dependent radion field playing a crucial role. Taking a re-look at this effective theory, we find cosmological and spherically symmetric, static solutions sourced by a radion--induced, effective stress energy, as well as additional, on-brane matter. The distance bet…
We show that the Bagger-Lambert theory of multiple M2-branes fits into the general construction of maximally supersymmetric gauge theories using the embedding tensor technique. We apply the embedding tensor technique in order to systematically obtain the consistent gaugings of N=8 superconformal theories in 2+1 dimensions. This leads to the Bagger-Lambert theory, with the embedding tensor playing the role of the four-index antisymmetric tensor defining a ``3-algebra''. We present an alternative formulation of the theory in which the embedding tensor is replaced by a set of unrestricted scalar …
We study phase transitions induced by topological defects in Abelian gauge theories of open p-branes in (d+1) space-time dimensions. Starting from a massive antisymmetric tensor theory for open p-branes we show how the condensation of topological defects can lead to a decoupled phase with a massless tensor coupled to closed (p-1)-branes and a massive tensor coupled to open (p+1)-branes. We also consider the case, relevant in string theory, in which the boundaries of the p-branes are constrained to live on a Dirichlet n-branes.
We present brane constructions in Type IIA string theory for N=1 supersymmetric SO and Sp gauge theories with tensor representations using an orientifold 6-plane. One limit of these set-ups corresponds to N=2 theories previously constructed by Landsteiner and Lopez, while a different limit yields N=1 SO or Sp theories with a massless tensor and no superpotential. For the Sp-type orientifold projection comparison with the field theory moduli space leads us to postulate two new rules governing the stability of configurations of D-branes intersecting the orientifold. Lifting one of our configurat…
The cosmological constant on a D-brane is analyzed. This D-brane is in the background produced by the p-brane solutions. The energy-momentum tensor in this model has been found and the form of the cosmological constant has been derived. This energy-momentum tensor is interpreted as an energy-momentum tensor for a perfect fluid on the D-brane. The energy density and the pressure for this fluid have been derived. As it turned out the pressure is negative but the speed of sound is real.
In this work we consider the issue of localization of antisymmetric tensor fields of arbitrary rank in a D dimensional Space-time with a codimension two. A string-like defect is used to simulate the membrane. The localization of massless and massive fields is found. The mass spectrum is infinitely degenerate for each mass level and this is solved by coupling the $q-$form to fermions.
In a recent paper Shiromizu, Maeda and Sasaki derived the gravitational equations of motion which would hold on a brane which is embedded in a higher dimensional bulk spacetime, showing that even when the Einstein equations are imposed in the bulk, nonetheless the embedding leads to a modification of the Einstein equations on the brane. In this comment on their work we explicitly identify and evaluate a delta function singularity effect at the brane which they do not appear to have discussed in their paper, an effect which, while actually being of interest in and of itself, nonetheless turns o…
The effective four-dimensional, linearised gravity for a brane world model with higher order curvature terms and a bulk scalar field is analysed. Large and small distance gravitational laws are derived. The model has a single brane embedded in a five-dimensional bulk spacetime, and the scalar field represents the dilaton or a moduli field. The quadratic, Gauss-Bonnet curvature term (and corresponding higher kinetic terms for the scalar) is also included in the bulk action. It is particularly natural to include such terms in a brane world model. Boundary terms and junction conditions for the hi…
We present a gauge-fixed M 5-brane action: a 6-dimensional field theory of a self-interacting (0,2) tensor multiplet with 32 worldvolume supersymmetries. The quadratic part of this action is shown to be invariant under rigid OSp(6,2|4) superconformal symmetry, with 16 supersymmetries and 16 special supersymmetries. We explore a deep relation between the superconformal symmetry on the worldvolume of the brane and symmetry of the near horizon anti-de Sitter infinite throat geometry of the M 5-brane in space-time.
A generalized Chan-Paton construction is presented which is analogous to the tensor product of vector bundles. To this end open string theories are considered where the space of states decomposes into sectors whose product is described by a semigroup. The cyclicity properties of the open string theory are used to prove that the relevant semigroups are direct unions of Brandt semigroups. The known classification of Brandt semigroups then implies that all such theories have the structure of a theory with Dirichlet-branes. We also describe the structure of an arbitrary orientifold group, and show…
In this work we study localization of a Kalb-Ramond tensorial gauge field on a membrane described by real scalar fields. The membrane is embedded in an AdS-type five dimensional bulk space, which mimic a Randall-Sundrum scenario. First, we consider a membrane described by only a single real scalar field. In that scenarios we find that there is no localized tensorial zero mode. When we take into account branes described by two real scalar fields with internal structures, we obtain again a non-localized zero mode for a Kalb-Ramond tensorial gauge field. After modifying our model of one single sc…
We analyze the level-rank duality of untwisted and epsilon-twisted D-branes of the so(N)_K WZW model. Untwisted D-branes of so(N)_K are characterized by integrable tensor and spinor representations of so(N)_K. Level-rank duality maps untwisted so(N)_K D-branes corresponding to (equivalence classes of) tensor representations onto those of so(K)_N. The epsilon-twisted D-branes of so(2n)_2k are characterized by (a subset of) integrable tensor and spinor representations of so(2n-1)_2k+1. Level-rank duality maps spinor epsilon-twisted so(2n)_2k D-branes onto those of so(2k)_2n. For both untwisted a…
$p'$-brane solutions to rank $p+1$ composite antisymmetric tensor field theories of the kind developed by Guendelman, Nissimov and Pacheva are found when the dimensionality of spacetime is $D=(p+1)+(p'+1)$. These field theories posses an infinite dimensional group of global Noether symmetries, that of volume-preserving diffeomorphisms of the target space of the scalar primitive field constituents. Crucial in the construction of $p'$ brane solutions are the duality transformations of the fields and the local gauge field theory formulation of extended objects given by Aurilia, Spallucci and Smai…
It is shown that the introduction of a suitable function in the higher-dimensional gauge field action may be used in order to achieve gauge bosons localization on a thick brane. The model is constructed upon analogies to the effective coupling of neutral scalar field to electromagnetic field and to the Friedberg-Lee model for hadrons. After that we move forward studying the localization of the Kalb-Ramond field via this procedure.
In the context of brane solutions of supergravity, we discuss a general method to introduce collective modes of any spin by exploiting a particular way of breaking symmetries. The method is applied to the D3, M2 and M5 branes and we derive explicit expressions for how the zero-modes enter the target space fields, verify normalisability in the transverse directions and derive the corresponding field equations on the brane. In particular, the method provides a clear understanding of scalar, spinor, and rank r tensorial Goldstone modes, chiral as well as non-chiral, and how they arise from the gr…
We explore the tensor perturbation of the $f(T)$ brane embedded in an AdS$_5$ spacetime. With the transverse-traceless condition, we get the tensor perturbation equation of the $f(T)$ brane and show that the stability of this brane system can be ensured. In addition, we take $ f(T)=T+αT^2$ as an example to analyse the localization problem of the graviton zero mode. It is shown that the graviton zero mode can be localized on the brane.
We consider type IIB (p,q) 5-branes in constant non-zero background tensor potentials, or equivalently, with finite constant field strength on the brane. At linear level, zero-modes are introduced and the physical degrees of freedom are found to be parametrised by a real 2- or 4-form field strength on the brane. An exact, SL(2;Z)-covariant solution to the full non-linear supergravity equations is then constructed. The resulting metric space-times are analysed, with special emphasis on the limiting cases with maximal values of the tensor. The analysis provides an answer to how the various backg…
We study in detail certain brane solutions with compact extra dimensions M^4 x K in the IKKT matrix model, with K being a two-dimensional rotating torus embedded in R^6. We focus on the compactification moduli and the fluctuations of K \subset R^6 and their physical significance. Mediated by the Poisson tensor, they contribute to the effective 4-dimensional metric on the brane, and thereby become gravitational degrees of freedom. We show that the zero modes corresponding to the global symmetries of the model lead to Ricci-flat 4-dimensional metric perturbations, wherever the energy-momentum te…
We study multiple 3-branes on an F theory orientifold. The world-volume theory of the 3-branes is d=4, N=2 Sp(2k) gauge theory with an antisymmetric tensor and four flavors of matter in the fundamental. The solution of this gauge theory is found for vanishing bare mass of the antisymmetric tensor matter, and massive fundamental matter. The integrable system underlying this theory is constructed.
In U-duality-manifest formulations, supergravity fields are packaged into covariant objects such as the generalized metric and $p$-form fields $\mathcal{A}_p^{I_p}$. While a parameterization of the generalized metric in terms of supergravity fields is known for U-duality groups $E_n$ with $n\leq 8$, a parameterization of $\mathcal{A}_p^{I_p}$ has not been fully determined. In this paper, we propose a systematic method to determine the parameterization of $\mathcal{A}_p^{I_p}$, which necessarily involves mixed-symmetry potentials. We also show how to systematically obtain the T- and S-duality t…
We study linear responses of D0-branes in the low frequency region by using gauge/gravity correspondence. The dynamics of the D0-branes is described by Matrix theory with finite temperature, which is dual to a near extremal D0-brane black hole solution. We analyze the tensor mode and vector modes of a stress tensor and a Ramond-Ramond 1-form current of Matrix theory. Then, we show that if a cutoff surface is close to a horizon of the D0-brane black hole, the linear responses take forms similar to the hydrodynamic stress tensor and current on S^8. By taking a Rindler limit, those linear respons…
For a massive scalar field with general curvature coupling parameter we evaluate Wightman function, vacuum expectation values of the field square and the energy-momentum tensor induced by a $Z_{2}$-symmetric brane with finite thickness located on $(D+1)$-dimensional AdS bulk. For the general case of static plane symmetric interior structure the expectation values in the region outside the brane are presented as the sum of free AdS and brane induced parts. For a conformally coupled massless scalar the brane induced part in the vacuum energy-momentum tensor vanishes. In the limit of strong gravi…
We make an analysis about several aspects of localization of a scalar field and a Kalb-Ramond gauge field in a specific four dimensional AdS membrane embedded in a five dimensional space-time. The membrane is generated from a deformation of the $λϕ^4$ potential and belongs to a new class of defect solutions. The study of deformed defects is important because they contain internal structures and these may have implications to the way the background space-time is constructed and the way its curvature behaves. The main objective is to observe the contributions of the deformation procedure to the …
In this paper, we study the equations of motion for non-Abelian N=(2,0) tensor multiplets in six dimensions, which were recently proposed by Lambert and Papageorgakis. Some equations are regarded as constraint equations. We employ a loop extension of the Lorentzian three-algebra (3-algebra) and examine the equations of motion around various solutions of the constraint equations. The resultant equations take forms that allow Lagrangian descriptions. We find various (5+d)-dimensional Lagrangians and investigate the relation between them from the viewpoint of M-theory duality.
In this paper, thick branes generated by mimetic scalar field are investigated. Three typical thick brane models are constructed and the linear tensor and scalar perturbations are analyzed. These branes have different inner structures, some of which are absent in general relativity. For each brane model, the solution is stable under both tensor and scalar perturbations. The tensor zero modes are localized on the branes, while the scalar perturbations do not propagate and they are not localized on the brane. As the branes split into multi sub-branes for specific parameters, the potentials of th…
We consider the brane-world in the holographic point of view. Bearing the realistic models in mind, the bulk massless scalar field is introduced. First of all, we find the constraint on the coupling of the scalar fields with the matter(not holographic CFT) on the brane. We show that the traceless part of the energy-momentum tensor of holographic CFT is a part of the bulk Weyl tensor. The trace part which comes from the trace-anomaly is corresponding to the $ρ^2$-term appeared in the generalized FRW equation in the brane-world.
It is well known that in a braneworld model, the localization of fermions on lower dimensional submanifold (say a TeV 3-brane) is governed by the gravity in the bulk which also determines the corresponding phenomenology on the brane. Here we consider a five dimensional warped spacetime where the bulk geometry is governed by higher curvature like F(R) gravity. In such a scenario, we explore the role of higher curvature terms on the localization of bulk fermions which in turn determines the effective radion-fermion coupling on the brane. Our result reveals that for appropriate choices of the hig…
We consider brane solutions where the tensor degrees of freedom are excited. Explicit solutions to the full non-linear supergravity equations of motion are given for the M5 and D3 branes, corresponding to finite selfdual tensor or Born-Infeld field strengths. The solutions are BPS-saturated and half-supersymmetric. The resulting metric space-times are analysed.
We construct for the first time an energy-momentum tensor for the electromagnetic field of a p-brane in arbitrary dimensions, entailing finite energy-momentum integrals. The construction relies on distribution theory and is based on a Lorentz-invariant regularization, followed by the subtraction of divergent and finite counterterms supported on the brane. The resulting energy-momentum tensor turns out to be uniquely determined. We perform the construction explicitly for a generic flat brane. For a brane in arbitrary motion our approach provides a new paradigm for the derivation of the, otherwi…
The defining properties of Yano tensors naturally generalize those of Killing vectors to anti-symmetric tensor fields of arbitrary rank. We show how the Yano tensors of flat spacetime can be used to construct new, conserved gravitational charges for transverse asymptotically flat spacetimes. The relationship of these new charges to Yano tensors parallels that of ordinary ADM conserved charges to Killing vectors. Hence, we call them Y-ADM charges. A rank n Y-ADM charge is given by an integral over a co-dimension $n$ slice of spatial infinity. In particular, a rank (p+1) Y-ADM charge in a p-bran…
We investigate the thick brane model in Palatini $f(\mathcal{R})$ gravity. The brane is generated by a real scalar field with a scalar potential. We solve the system analytically and obtain a series of thick brane solutions for the $f(\mathcal{R})=\mathcal{R}+α\mathcal{R}^2$-brane model. It is shown that tensor perturbations of the metric are stable for $df({\mathcal{R}})/d{\mathcal{R}}>0$. For nonconstant curvature solutions, the graviton zero mode can be localized on the brane, which indicates that the four-dimensional gravity can be recovered on the brane. Mass spectrum of graviton KK modes…
Positive frequency Wightman function, vacuum expectation values of the field square and the energy-momentum tensor induced by a Z_{2}-symmetric brane with finite thickness located on (D+1)- dimensional AdS background are evaluated for a massive scalar field with general curvature coupling parameter. For the general case of static plane symmetric interior structure the expectation values in the region outside the brane are presented as the sum of free AdS and brane induced parts. For a conformally coupled massless scalar the brane induced part in the vacuum energy-momentum tensor vanishes. In t…
In this thesis we discuss some nonperturbative and noncommutative aspects of string theory. We present low-energy background field solutions corresponding to various D-branes (and their bound states) and intersecting branes in flat and pp-wave spacetime. A class of D-brane bound states are constructed from charged macroscopic strings and they are shown to satisfy the mass-charge relationship of 1/2 BPS bound states. Another class of D-branes and intersecting branes are constructed, by solving the type II field equations explicitly, in pp-wave background with constant and non-constant flux. The…
We consider a braneworld model in the scalar-tensor gravity. In order to solve the gauge hierarchy problem in this model, our world should be confined on the positive tension brane rather than on the negative one. This is crucial to reproduce a correct Friedmann-like equation on the brane. Interestingly, it is found that the spacing of mass spectrum in this scenario is very tiny, but the light gravitons cannot be observed individually in colliders because of their sufficiently weak interaction with matter fields on the visible brane.
We study a scalar-tensor bimetric cosmology in the Randall-Sundrum model with one positive tension brane, where the biscalar field is assumed to be confined on the brane. The effective Friedmann equations on the brane are obtained and analyzed. We comment on resolution of cosmological problems in this bimetric model.
It appears that having our own brane to somehow interact with other branes could give rise to quite an interesting system and that that interaction could lead to some observable effects. We consider the question of whether or not these signatures of interaction between the branes can be observed. To answer this question, we investigate the effect induced by the inflaton in the WMAP7 data using the warm inflationary model. In this model, slow-roll and perturbation parameters are given in terms of the inflaton thermal distribution. We show that this distribution depends on the orbital radius of …
We analyze the tensor perturbations of flat thick domain wall branes in $f(R)$ gravity. Our results indicate that under the transverse and traceless gauge, the metric perturbations decouple from the perturbation of the scalar field. Besides, the perturbed equation reduces to the familiar Klein-Gordon equation for massless spin-2 particles only when the bulk curvature is a constant or when $f(R)=R$. As an application of our results, we consider the possibility of localizing gravity on some flat thick branes. The stability of these brane solutions is also shortly discussed.
We present a new approximation method for solving the equations of motion for cosmological tensor perturbations in a Randall-Sundrum brane-world model of the type with one brane in a five-dimensional anti-de Sitter spacetime. This method avoids the problem of coordinate singularities inherent in some methods. At leading order, the zero-mode solution replicates the evolution of perturbations in a four-dimensional Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe in the absence of any tensor component to the matter perturbation on the brane. At next order, there is a mode-mixing effect, although, importantly,…
We propose the recently defined "Holoraumy Tensor" to play a critical role in defining a metric to establish a correspondence between 4D, N-extended 0-brane-based valise supermultiplet representations and, correspondingly via "SUSY Holography," on the space of 1D, 4N-extended network-based adinkras. Using an analogy with the su(3) algebra, it is argued the 0-brane holoraumy tensors plays the role of the "d-coefficients" and provides a newly established tool for investigating supersymmetric representation theory.
Consistent couplings between a massless tensor field with the mixed symmetry of the Riemann tensor and a massless vector field are analyzed in the framework of Lagrangian BRST cohomology. Under the assumptions on smoothness, locality, Lorentz covariance, and Poincare invariance of the deformations, combined with the requirement that the interacting Lagrangian is at most second-order derivative, it is proved that there are no consistent cross-interactions between a single massless tensor field with the mixed symmetry of the Riemann tensor and one massless vector field.
