We construct a special embedding of the translation quiver $\mathbb{Z}Q$ in the three-dimensional affine space $\mathbb{R}^{3}$ where $Q$ is a finite connected acyclic quiver and $\mathbb{Z}Q$ contains a local slice whose quiver is isomorphic to the opposite quiver $Q^{op}$ of $Q.$ Via this embedding, we show that there exists an involutive anti-automorphism of the translation quiver $\mathbb{Z}Q.$ As an immediate consequence, we characterize explicitly the group of cluster automorphisms of the cluster algebras of seed $(X,Q)$, where $Q$ and $Q^{op}$ are mutation equivalent.
The matrix equation $AX-XB=C$ has a solution if and only if the matrices [A&C\\0&B] and [A &0\\0 & B] are similar. This criterion was proved over a field by W.E. Roth (1952) and over the skew field of quaternions by Huang Liping (1996). H.K. Wimmer (1988) obtained an analogous criterion for the matrix equation $X-AXB=C$ over a field. We extend these criteria to the matrix equations $AX-\widehat XB=C$ and $X-A\widehat XB=C$ over the skew field of quaternions with a fixed involutive automorphism $q\mapsto \hat q$.
The present paper develops a general theory of quantum group analogs of symmetric pairs for involutive automorphism of the second kind of symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebras. The resulting quantum symmetric pairs are right coideal subalgebras of quantized enveloping algebras. They give rise to triangular decompositions, including a quantum analog of the Iwasawa decomposition, and they can be written explicitly in terms of generators and relations. Moreover, their centers and their specializations are determined. The constructions follow G. Letzter's theory of quantum symmetric pairs for semisimpl…
We study the cluster automorphism group of a skew-symmetric cluster algebra with geometric coefficients. For this, we introduce the notion of gluing free cluster algebra, and show that under a weak condition the cluster automorphism group of a gluing free cluster algebra is a subgroup of the cluster automorphism group of its principal part cluster algebra (i.e. the corresponding cluster algebra without coefficients). We show that several classes of cluster algebras with coefficients are gluing free, for example, cluster algebras with principal coefficients, cluster algebras with universal geom…
For a coefficient free cluster algebra $\mathcal{A}$, we study the cluster automorphism group $Aut(\mathcal{A})$ and the automorphism group $Aut(E_{\mathcal{A}})$ of its exchange graph $E_{\mathcal{A}}$. We show that these two groups are isomorphic with each other, if $\mathcal{A}$ is of finite type excepting types of rank two and type $F_4$, or if $\mathcal{A}$ is of skew-symmetric finite mutation type.
We study the cluster automorphism group $Aut(\mathcal{A})$ of a coefficient free cluster algebra $\mathcal{A}$ of finite type. A cluster automorphism of $\mathcal{A}$ is a permutation of the cluster variable set $\mathscr{X}$ that is compatible with cluster mutations. We show that, on the one hand, by the well-known correspondence between $\mathscr{X}$ and the almost positive root system $Φ_{\geq -1}$ of the corresponding Dynkin type, the piecewise-linear transformations $τ_+$ and $τ_-$ on $Φ_{\geq -1}$ induce cluster automorphisms $f_+$ and $f_-$ of $\mathcal{A}$ respectively; on the other ha…
In this paper, we study the relations between groups related to cluster automorphism groups which are defined by Assem, Schiffler and Shamchenko in \cite{ASS}. We establish the relationship among (strict) direct cluster automorphism groups and those groups consisting of periodicities of respectively labeled seeds and exchange matrices in the language of short exact sequences. As an application, we characterize automorphism-finite cluster algebras in the cases with bipartite seeds or finite mutation type. Finally, we study the relation between the groups $\mathrm{Aut}\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathrm{A…
In this paper, we introduce a notion of unistructural cluster algebras, for which the set of cluster variables uniquely determines the clusters. We prove that cluster algebras of Dynkin type and cluster algebras of rank 2 are unistructural, then prove that if $\mathcal{A}$ is unistructural or of Euclidean type, then $f: \mathcal{A}\to \mathcal{A}$ is a cluster automorphism if and only if $f$ is an automorphism of the ambient field which restricts to a permutation of the cluster variables. In order to prove this result, we also investigate the Fomin-Zelevinsky conjecture that two cluster variab…
Every two seeds in a field of fractions $\mathcal{F}$ together with a symmetric group element gives rise to an automorphism of $\mathcal{F}$ called an exchange automorphism. For positive cluster algebras, we provide equivalent conditions for exchange automorphisms to be cluster isomorphisms of the corresponding cluster algebras. The equivalent conditions are given in terms of a symmetric group action on the set of seeds, which is also studied. Presentations of groups of cluster automorphisms of some seeds of ranks 1 and 2 are given.
We study the relation between the cluster automorphisms and the quasi-automorphisms of a cluster algebra $\mathcal{A}$. We proof that under some mild condition, satisfied for example by every skew-symmetric cluster algebra, the quasi-automorphism group of $\mathcal{A}$ is isomorphic to a subgroup of the cluster automorphism group of $\mathcal{A}_{triv}$, and the two groups are isomorphic if $\mathcal{A}$ has principal or universal coefficients; here $\mathcal{A}_{triv}$ is the cluster algebra with trivial coefficients obtained from $\mathcal{A}$ by setting all frozen variables equal to the int…
In this article, we introduce the notion of cluster automorphism of a given cluster algebra as a $\ZZ$-automorphism of the cluster algebra that sends a cluster to another and commutes with mutations. We study the group of cluster automorphisms in detail for acyclic cluster algebras and cluster algebras from surfaces, and we compute this group explicitly for the Dynkin types and the Euclidean types.
We conjecture a characterization of a cluster automorphism as an algebra homomorphism from the cluster algebra to itself that restricts to a bijection between two clusters. This formulation does not require that the map commutes with mutations as in the original definition of cluster automorphisms. We prove the conjecture in the case where at least one of the two clusters is bipartite.
We show that the Gelfand character $ χ_G$ of a finite group $G $ (i.e. the sum of all irreducible complex characters of $G$ ) may be realized as a `` twisted trace'' $ g \mapsto Tr( ρ_g \circ T) $ for a suitable involutive linear automorphism $T$ of $L^2(G)$, where $(L^2(G), ρ)$ is the right regular representation of $G$. Moreover, we prove that under certain hypotheses $T(f)= f \circ L \;\; (f \in L^2(G)), $ where $ L $ is an involutive antiautomorphism of $ G.$ The natural representation $τ$ of $G$ associated to the natural $L$-conjugacy action of $G$ in the fixed point set $Fix_G(L)$ of $L$…
A cluster automorphism is a $\mathbb{Z}$-algebra automorphism of a cluster algebra $\mathcal A$ satisfying that it sends a cluster to another and commutes with mutations. Chang and Schiffler conjectured that a cluster automorphism of $\mathcal A$ is just a $\mathbb{Z}$-algebra homomorphism of a cluster algebra sending a cluster to another. The aim of this article is to prove this conjecture.
Cluster automorphisms have been shown to have links to the mapping class groups of surfaces, maximal green sequences and to exchange graph automorphisms for skew-symmetric cluster algebras. In this paper we aim to generalise these results to the skew-symmetrizable case by introducing a marking on the exchange graph. Many skew-symmetrizable matrices unfold to skew-symmetric matrices and we consider how cluster automorphisms behave under this unfolding with applications to coverings of orbifolds by surfaces.
It is conjectured by Ibrahim Assem, Ralf Schiffler and Vasilisa Shramchenko in "Cluster Automorphisms and Compatibility of Cluster Variables" that every cluster algebra is unistructural, that is to say, that the set of cluster variables determines uniquely the cluster algebra structure. In other words, there exists a unique decomposition of the set of cluster variables into clusters. This conjecture has been proven to hold true for algebras of type Dynkin or rank 2 by Assem, Schiffler and Shramchenko. The aim of this paper is to prove it for algebras of type ${\widetilde{\mathbb{A}}}$. We use …
We provide a concrete realization of the cluster algebras associated with Q-systems as amalgamations of cluster structures on double Bruhat cells in simple algebraic groups. For nonsimply-laced groups, this provides a cluster-algebraic formulation of Q-systems of twisted type. It also yields a uniform proof of the discrete integrability of these Q-systems by identifying them with the dynamics of factorization mappings on quotients of double Bruhat cells. On the double Bruhat cell itself, we find these dynamics are closely related to those of the Fomin-Zelevinsky twist map. This leads to an exp…
We prove that any skew-symmetrizable cluster algebra is unistructural, which is a conjecture by Assem, Schiffler, and Shramchenko. As a corollary, we obtain that a cluster automorphism of a cluster algebra $\mathcal A(\mathcal S)$ is just an automorphism of the ambient field $\mathcal F$ which restricts to a permutation of cluster variables of $\mathcal A(S)$.
Given a symmetrizable generalized Cartan matrix $A$, for any index $k$, one can define an automorphism associated with $A,$ of the field $\mathbf{Q}(u_1, >..., u_n)$ of rational functions of $n$ independent indeterminates $u_1,..., u_n.$ It is an isomorphism between two cluster algebras associated to the matrix $A$ (see section 4 for precise meaning). When $A$ is of finite type, these isomorphisms behave nicely, they are compatible with the BGP-reflection functors of cluster categories defined in [Z1, Z2] if we identify the indecomposable objects in the categories with cluster variables of the…
We consider (iced) quiver with potential $(\bar{Q}(D), F(D), \bar{W}(D))$ associated to a Postnilov Diagram $D$ and prove the mutation of the quiver with potential $(\bare{Q}(D), F(D), \bar{W}(D))$ is compatible with the geometric exchange of the Postnikov diagram $D$. This ensures we may define a quiver with potential for a Grassmannian cluster algebra. We show such quiver with potential is always rigid (thus non-degenerate) and Jacobian-finite. And in fact, it is the unique non-degenerate (thus unique rigid) quiver with potential associated to the Grassmannian cluster algebra up to right-equ…
As a continuation of the previous paper, we find a combinatorial interpretation of Dorey's rule for type $C_n$ via twisted Auslander-Reiten quivers (AR-quivers) of type $D_{n+1}$, which are combinatorial AR-quivers related to certain Dynkin diagram automorphisms. Combinatorial properties of twisted AR-quivers are useful to understand not only Dorey's rule but also other notions in the representation theory of the quantum affine algebra $U_q'(C_n^{(1)})$ such as denominator formulas. In addition, unlike twisted adapted classes of type $A_{2n-1}$ in the previous paper, we show twisted AR-quivers…
Kontsevich and Soibelman defined the notion of Donaldson-Thomas invariants of a 3d Calabi-Yau category with a stability condition. A family of examples of such categories can be constructed from an arbitrary cluster variety. The corresponding Donaldson-Thomas invariants are encoded by a special formal automorphism of the cluster variety, known as Donaldson-Thomas transformation. Fix two integers $m$ and $n$ with $1<m<m+1<n$. It is known that the configuration space $\mathrm{Conf}_n(\mathbb{P}^{m-1})$, closely related to Grassmannian $\mathrm{Gr}_m(n)$, is a cluster Poisson variety. In this pap…
We study the set S of labelled seeds of a cluster algebra of rank n inside a field F as a homogeneous space for the group M_n of (globally defined) mutations and relabellings. Regular equivalence relations on S are associated to subgroups W of Aut_{M_n}(S), and we thus obtain groupoids W \ S. We show that for two natural choices of equivalence relation, the corresponding groups W^c and W^+ act on F, and the groupoids W^c \ S and W^+ \ S on the model field K=Q(x_1,...,x_n). The groupoid W^+ \ S is equivalent to Fock-Goncharov's cluster modular groupoid. Moreover, W^c is isomorphic to the group …
We introduce and study the twisted adapted $r$-cluster point and its combinatorial Auslander-Reiten quivers, called twisted AR-quivers and folded AR-quivers, of type $A_{2n+1}$ which are closely related to twisted Coxeter elements and the non-trivial Dynkin diagram automorphism. As applications of the study, we prove that folded AR-quivers encode crucial information on the representation theory of quantum affine algebra $U_q'(B^{(1)}_{n+1})$ such as Dorey's rule and denominator formulas.
We construct tilting modules over Jacobian algebras arising from knots. To a two-bridge knot $L[a_1,\ldots,a_n]$, we associate a quiver $Q$ with potential and its Jacobian algebra $A$. We construct a family of canonical indecomposable $A$-modules $M(i)$, each supported on a different specific subquiver $Q(i)$ of $Q$. Each of the $M(i)$ is expected to parametrize the Jones polynomial of the knot. We study the direct sum $M=\oplus_iM(i)$ of these indecomposables inside the module category of $A$ as well as in the cluster category. In this paper we consider the special case where the two-bridge k…
