We consider a $d$-dimensional SDE with an identity diffusion matrix and a drift vector being a vector function of bounded variation. We give a representation for the derivative of the solution with respect to the initial data.
In this work we prove Malliavin differentiability for the solution to an SDE with locally Lipschitz and semi-monotone drift. To this end we construct a sequence of SDEs with globally Lipschitz drifts. We show that the solutions of these SDEs converge to the solution of the original SDE and the p-moments of their Malliavin derivatives are uniformly bounded.
We construct a stochastic flow generated by an SDE with Lévy noise and a drift coefficient being a function of bounded variation on R. It is proved that this flow is non-coalescing and Sobolev differentiable with respect to initial data. The representation for the derivative is given.
We close an unexpected gap in the literature of stochastic differential equations (SDEs) with drifts of super linear growth (and random coefficients), namely, we prove Malliavin and Parametric Differentiability of such SDEs. The former is shown by proving Ray Absolute Continuity and Stochastic Gâteaux Differentiability. This method enables one to take limits in probability rather than mean square which bypasses the potentially non-integrable error terms from the unbounded drift. This issue is strongly linked with the difficulties of the standard methodology from Nualart's 2006 work, Lemma 1.2.…
In this paper we present a new method for the construction of strong solutions of SDE's with merely integrable drift coefficients driven by a multidimensional fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H < 1/2. Furthermore, we prove the rather surprising result of the higher order Frechet differentiability of stochastic flows of such SDE's in the case of a small Hurst parameter. In establishing these results we use techniques from Malliavin calculus combined with new ideas based on a "local time variational calculus". We expect that our general approach can be also applied to the study of…
In this paper, we consider quadratic forward-backward SDEs (QFBSDEs), for {which} the drift in the forward equation does not satisfy the standard globally Lipschitz condition and the driver of the backward system {possesses} nonlinearity of type $f(|y|)|z|^2,$ where $f$ is any locally integrable function. We prove both the Malliavin and classical derivative of the QFBSDE and provide representations of these processes. We study a numerical approximation of this system in the sense of \cite{ImkDosReis} in which the authors assume that the drift is Lipschitz and the driver of the BSDE is quadrati…
The large deviations principles are established for a class of multidimensional degenerate stochastic differential equations with reflecting boundary conditions. The results include two cases where the initial conditions are adapted and anticipated.
By establishing a characterization for Sobolev differentiability of random fields, we prove the weak differentiability of solutions to stochastic differential equations with local Sobolev and super-linear growth coefficients with respect to the starting point. Moreover, we also study the strong Feller property and the irreducibility of the associated diffusion semigroup.
In this paper, the strong solutions $ (X, L)$ of multidimensional stochastic differential equations with reflecting boundary and possible anticipating initial random variables is established. The key is to obtain some substitution formula for Stratonovich integrals via a uniform convergence of the corresponding Riemann sums and to prove continuity of functionals of $ (X, L)$.
In this paper, we address the problem of existence and uniqueness of a global classical solution to a multidimensional stochastic Burgers equation without gradient-type assumptions on the force or the initial condition. The equation is first transformed to a random PDE, and then solved via the associated forward-backward SDE. Additionally, we obtain a new a priori gradient estimate valid for a large class of second-order quasilinear parabolic PDEs which becomes an important tool in our approach. Also, we study the stochastic Burgers equation in the vanishing viscosity limit.
In this paper we study path-by-path uniqueness for multidimensional stochastic differential equations driven by the Brownian sheet. We assume that the drift coefficient is unbounded, verifies a spatial linear growth condition and is componentwise nondeacreasing. Our approach consists of showing the result for bounded and componentwise nondecreasing drift using both a local time-space representation and a law of iterated logarithm for Brownian sheets. The desired result follows using a Gronwall type lemma on the plane. As a by product, we obtain the existence of a unique strong solution of mult…
In this paper we prove the existence of strong solutions to a SDE with a generalized drift driven by a multidimensional fractional Brownian motion for small Hurst parameters H<1/2. Here the generalized drift is given as the local time of the unknown solution process, which can be considered an extension of the concept of a skew Brownian motion to the case of fractional Brownian motion. Our approach for the construction of strong solutions is new and relies on techniques from Malliavin calculus combined with a "local time variational calculus" argument.
We study existence and uniqueness of solution for stochastic differential equations with distributional drift by giving a meaning to the Stroock-Varadhan martingale problem associated such equations. The approach we exploit is the one of paracontrolled distributions introduced in [13]. As a result we make sense of the three dimensional polymer measure with white noise potential.
We consider a one-dimensional Stochastic Differential Equation with reflection where we allow the drift to be merely bounded and measurable. It is already known that such equations have a unique strong solution. Recently, it has been shown that non-reflected SDE's with discontinuous drift possess more regularity than one could expect, namely they are Malliavin differentiable and weakly differentiable w.r.t. the initial value. In this paper we show that similar results hold for one-dimensional SDE's with reflection. We then apply the results to get a Bismut-Elworthy-Li formula for the correspon…
We study in this paper the wellposedness of path-dependent multidimensional forward-backward stochastic differential equations (FBSDE). By path-dependent we mean that the coefficients of the forward-backward SDE at time t can depend on the whole path of the forward process up to time t. These kinds of forward-backward SDE appear when solving path-dependent stochastic control problem by means of variational calculus. At the heart of our analysis is the construction of a decoupling random field on the path space. We first prove the existence and the uniqueness of decoupling field on small time i…
Stochastic flows generated by reflected SDEs in a half-plane with an additive diffusion term are considered. A derivative in the initial data is represented a.s. as an infinite product of matrices. We use this representation and construct an example of a reflecting flow with a linear drift such that it is not locally continuously differentiable.
We consider the Itô SDE with partially Sobolev coefficients. Under some suitable conditions, we show the existence, uniqueness and stability of generalized stochastic flows associated to such an equation. As an application, we prove the weak differentiability of the stochastic flow generated by the Itô SDE with Sobolev coefficients.
In this paper, we prove a sufficient and necessary condition for the transition probability distribution of a general, time-inhomogeneous linear SDE to possess a density function and study the differentiability of the density function and the transition quantile function of the SDE. Moreover, we completely characterize the support of the marginal distribution of this SDE.

We prove that a stochastic flow of reflected Brownian motions in a smooth multidimensional domain is differentiable with respect to its initial position. The derivative is a linear map represented by a multiplicative functional for reflected Brownian motion. The method of proof is based on excursion theory and analysis of the deterministic Skorokhod equation.
We show the complete proof of the Markov property of the strong solution to a multidimensional SDE whose coefficients involve local time on a hyperplane of the unknown process.
We generalize the results of Ambrosio [Invent. Math. 158 (2004), 227--260] on the existence, uniqueness and stability of regular Lagrangian flows of ordinary differential equations to Stratonovich stochastic differential equations with BV drift coefficients. Then we construct an explicit solution to the corresponding stochastic transport equation in terms of the stochastic flow. The approximate differentiability of the flow is also studied when the drift is a Sobolev vector field.
The purpose of the article is to address the limiting behavior of the solutions of stochastic differential equations driven by a pointy $d$-dimensional gradient as the intensity of the underlying Brownian motion tends to $0$. By pointy gradient, we here mean that the drift derives from a potential that is ${\mathcal C}^{1,1}$ on any compact subset that does not contain the origin. As a matter of fact, the corresponding deterministic version of the differential equation may have an infinite number of solutions when initialized from $0_{{\mathbb R}^d}$, in which case the limit theorem proved in …
We consider multidimensional SDEs with singular drift $b$ and Sobolev diffusion coefficients $σ$, satisfying Krylov--Röckner type assumptions. We prove several stability estimates, comparing solutions driven by different $(b^i,σ^i)$, both for Itô and Stratonovich SDEs, possibly depending on negative Sobolev norms of the difference $b^1-b^2$. We then discuss several applications of these results to McKean--Vlasov SDEs, criteria for strong compactness of solutions and Wong--Zakai type theorems.
We establish well-posedness results for multidimensional non degenerate $α$-stable driven SDEs with time inhomogeneous singular drifts in $\mathbb{L}^r-{\mathbb B}_{p,q}^{-1+γ}$ with $γ<1$ and $α$ in $(1,2]$, where $\mathbb{L}^r$ and ${\mathbb B}_{p,q}^{-1+γ} $ stand for Lebesgue and Besov spaces respectively. Precisely, we first prove the well-posedness of the corresponding martingale problem and then give a precise meaning to the dynamics of the SDE. This allows us in turn to define an ad hoc notion of weak solution, for which well-posedness holds as well. Our results rely on the smoothing p…

Let X be the solution of the multidimensional stochastic differential equationdX(t) = b(t, X(t)) dt + sigma(t, X(t)) dW(t)\, with X(0)=x where W is a standard Brownian motion. We show that when b is measurable and sigma is in an appropriate Sobolev space, the law of X satisfies a uniform quadratic transportation inequality.
In this paper, we prove a comparison theorem for multidimensional G-SDEs. Moreover we obtain respectively the sufficient conditions and necessary conditions of the monotonicity and order-preservation for two multidimensional G-diffusion processes. Finally, we give some applications.
We consider a multidimensional SDE with a Gaussian noise and a drift vector being a vector function of bounded variation. We prove the existence of generalized derivative of the solution with respect to the initial conditions and represent the derivative as a solution of a linear SDE with coefficients depending on the initial process. The representation obtained is a natural generalization of the expression for the derivative in the smooth case. The theory of continuous additive functionals is used.
We quantize a multidimensional $SDE$ (in the Stratonovich sense) by solving the related system of $ODE$'s in which the $d$-dimensional Brownian motion has been replaced by the components of functional stationary quantizers. We make a connection with rough path theory to show that the solutions of the quantized solutions of the $ODE$ converge toward the solution of the $SDE$. On our way to this result we provide convergence rates of optimal quantizations toward the Brownian motion for $\frac 1q$-H\" older distance, $q>2$, in $L^p(¶)$.
Consider a multidimensional SDE of the form $X_t = x+\int_{0}^{t} b(X_{s-})ds+\int{0}^{t} f(X_{s-})dZ_s$ where $(Z_s)_{s\ge 0}$ is a symmetric stable process. Under suitable assumptions on the coefficients the unique strong solution of the above equation admits a density w.r.t. the Lebesgue measure and so does its Euler scheme. Using a parametrix approach, we derive an error expansion at order 1 w.r.t. the time step for the difference of these densities.
In this paper, we are interested in the following one dimensional forward stochastic differential equation (SDE) \[ d X_{t}=b(t,X_{t},ω)d t +σd B_{t},\quad 0\leq t\leq T,\quad X_{0}=\,x\in \mathbb{R}, \] where the driving noise $B_{t}$ is a $d$-dimensional Brownian motion. The drift coefficient $b:[0,T] \timesΩ\times \mathbb{R}\longrightarrow \mathbb{R}$ is Borel measurable and can be decomposed into a deterministic and a random part, i.e., $b(t,x,ω) = b_1(t,x) + b_2(t,x,ω)$. Assuming that $b_1$ is of spacial linear growth and $b_2$ satisfies some integrability conditions, we obtain the existe…
For a difference approximations of multidimensional diffusion, the truncated local limit theorem is proved. Under very mild conditions on the distribution of the difference terms, this theorem provides that the transition probabilities of these approximations, after truncation of some asymptotically negligible terms, possess a densities that converge uniformly to the transition probability density for the limiting diffusion and satisfy a uniform diffusion-type estimates. The proof is based on the new version of the Malliavin calculus for the product of finite family of measures, that may conta…
We establish weak well-posedness for critical symmetric stable driven SDEs in R d with additive noise Z, d $\ge$ 1. Namely, we study the case where the stable index of the driving process Z is $α$ = 1 which exactly corresponds to the order of the drift term having the coefficient b which is continuous and bounded. In particular, we cover the cylindrical case when Zt = (Z 1 t ,. .. , Z d t) and Z 1 ,. .. , Z d are independent one dimensional Cauchy processes. Our approach relies on L p-estimates for stable operators and uses perturbative arguments. 1. Statement of the problem and main results W…
We introduce operator scaled Wiener bridges by incorporating a matrix scaling in the drift part of the SDE of a multidimensional Wiener bridge. A sufficient condition for the bridge property of the SDE solution is derived in terms of the eigenvalues of the scaling matrix. We analyze the asymptotic behavior of the bridges and briefly discuss the question whether the scaling matrix determines uniquely the law of the corresponding bridge.
This paper develops a new efficient scheme for approximations of expectations of the solutions to stochastic differential equations (SDEs). In particular, we present a method for connecting approximate operators based on an asymptotic expansion with multidimensional Malliavin weights to compute a target expectation value precisely. The mathematical validity is given based on Watanabe and Kusuoka theories in Malliavin calculus. Moreover, numerical experiments for option pricing under local and stochastic volatility models confirm the effectiveness of our scheme. Especially, our weak approximati…
In this paper we solve a selection problem for multidimensional SDE $d X^\varepsilon(t)=a(X^\varepsilon(t)) d t+\varepsilon σ(X^\varepsilon(t))\, d W(t)$, where the drift and diffusion are locally Lipschitz continuous outside of a fixed hyperplane $H$. It is assumed that $X^\varepsilon(0)=x^0\in H$, the drift $a(x)$ has a Hoelder asymptotics as $x$ approaches $H$, and the limit ODE $d X(t)=a(X(t))\, d t$ does not have a unique solution. We show that if the drift pushes the solution away of $H$, then the limit process with certain probabilities selects some extreme solutions to the limit ODE. I…
This paper proves joint convergence of the approximation error for several stochastic integrals with respect to local Brownian semimartingales, for nonequidistant and random grids. The conditions needed for convergence are that the Lebesgue integrals of the integrands tend uniformly to zero and that the squared variation and covariation processes converge. The paper also provides tools which simplify checking these conditions and which extend the range for the results. These results are used to prove an explicit limit theorem for random grid approximations of integrals based on solutions of mu…

We consider a general multidimensional stochastic differential delay equation (SDDE) with state-dependent colored noises. We approximate it by a stochastic differential equation (SDE) system and calculate its limit as the time delays and the correlation times of the noises go to zero. The main result is proven using a theorem about convergence of stochastic integrals by Kurtz and Protter. It formalizes and extends a result that has been obtained in the analysis of a noisy electrical circuit with delayed state-dependent noise, and may be used as a working SDE approximation of an SDDE modeling a…
We combine the rough path theory and stochastic backward error analysis to develop a new framework for error analysis on numerical schemes. Based on our approach, we prove that the almost sure convergence rate of the modified Milstein scheme for stochastic differential equations driven by multiplicative multidimensional fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter $H\in(\frac14,\frac12)$ is $(2H-\frac12)^-$ for sufficiently smooth coefficients, which is optimal in the sense that it is consistent with the result of the corresponding implementable approximation of the Lévy area of fractional …
