We show that the endomorphism ring of each cluster tilting object in a tubular cluster category is a finite dimensional Jacobian algebra which is tame of polynomial growth. Moreover, these Jacobian algebras are given by a quiver with a non-degenerate potential and mutation of cluster tilting objects is compatible with mutation of QPs.
We show that Jacobian algebras arising from a sphere with $n$-punctures, with $n\geq5$, are finite dimensional algebras. We consider also a family of cyclically oriented quivers and we prove that, for any primitive potential, the associated Jacobian algebra is finite dimensional.
There are several examples in which algebraic properties of Jacobian algebras from (unpunctured) Riemann surfaces can be computed from the geometry of the Riemann surface. In this work, we compute the dimension of the Hochschild cohomology groups of any Jacobian algebra from unpunctured Riemann surfaces. In those expressions appear geometric objects of the triangulated surface, namely: the number of internal triangles and certain types of boundaries. Moreover, we give geometric conditions on the triangulated surface $(S,M,\mathbb T)$ such that the Gerstenhaber algebra $\operatorname{HH}^*(A_{\…
We survey results on mutations of Jacobian algebras, while simultaneously extending them to the more general setup of frozen Jacobian algebras, which arise naturally from dimer models with boundary and in the context of the additive categorification of cluster algebras with frozen variables via Frobenius categories. As an application, we show that the mutation of cluster-tilting objects in various such categorifications, such as the Grassmannian cluster categories of Jensen-King-Su, is compatible with Fomin-Zelevinsky mutation of quivers. We also describe an extension of this combinatorial mut…
We show that the quivers with potentials associated to ideal triangulations of marked surfaces with empty boundary are not rigid, and their completed Jacobian algebras are finite-dimensional and symmetric.
We study infinite dimensional tilting modules over a concealed canonical algebra of domestic or tubular type. In the domestic case, such tilting modules are constructed by using the technique of universal localization, and they can be interpreted in terms of Gabriel localizations of the corresponding category of quasi-coherent sheaves over a noncommutative curve of genus zero. In the tubular case, we have to distinguish between tilting modules of rational and irrational slope. For rational slope the situation is analogous to the domestic case. In contrast, for any irrational slope, there is ju…
For a quiver with potential $(Q,W)$ with an action of a finite cyclic group $G$, we study the skew group algebra $ΛG$ of the Jacobian algebra $Λ= \mathcal P(Q, W)$. By a result of Reiten and Riedtmann, the quiver $Q_G$ of a basic algebra $η( ΛG) η$ Morita equivalent to $ΛG$ is known. Under some assumptions on the action of $G$, we explicitly construct a potential $W_G$ on $Q_G$ such that $η(ΛG) η\cong \mathcal P(Q_G , W_G)$. The original quiver with potential can then be recovered by the skew group algebra construction with a natural action of the dual group of $G$. If $Λ$ is self-injective, t…
In this article we describe indecomposable objects of the derived categories of a branch class of associative algebras. To this class belong such known classes of algebras as gentle algebras, skew-gentle algebras and certain degenerations of tubular algebras.
There are nontrivial dualities and parallels between polynomial algebras and the Grassmann algebras. This paper is an attempt to look at the Grassmann algebras at the angle of the Jacobian conjecture for polynomial algebras (which is the question/conjecture about the $ $ {\em Jacobian set} -- the set of all algebra endomorphisms of a polynomial algebra with the Jacobian 1 -- the Jacobian conjecture claims that the Jacobian set is a {\em group}). In this paper, we study in detail the Jacobian set for the Grassmann algebra which turns out to be a {\em group} -- the {\em Jacobian group} $Σ$ -- a …
We introduce and study potentials, mutations and Jacobian algebras in the framework of tensor algebras associated with symmetrizable dualizing pairs of bimodules on a symmetric algebra over any commutative ground ring. The graded context is also considered by starting from graded bimodules, and the classical non simply-laced context of modulated quivers with potentials is a particular case. The study of potentials in this framework is related to symmetrically separable algebras, and we have two kinds of potentials: the symmetric and the non symmetric ones. When the Casimir ideal of the symmetr…
We study quivers with potential (QPs) whose Jacobian algebras are finite dimensional selfinjective. They are an analogue of the `good QPs' studied by Bocklandt whose Jacobian algebras are 3-Calabi-Yau. We show that 2-representation-finite algebras are truncated Jacobian algebras of selfinjective QPs, which are factor algebras of Jacobian algebras by certain sets of arrows called cuts. We show that selfinjectivity of QPs is preserved under successive mutation with respect to orbits of the Nakayama permutation. We give a sufficient condition for all truncated Jacobian algebras of a fixed QP to b…
We study finite dimensional semisimple Hopf algebra actions on noetherian connected graded Artin-Schelter regular algebras, and introduce definitions of the Jacobian, the reflection arrangement and the discriminant in a noncommutative setting.
Constructions of n-Lie algebras by strong n-Lie-Poisson algebras are given. First cohomology groups of adjoint module of Jacobian algebras are calculated. Minimal identities of 3-Jacobian algebra are found.
In this paper, we give a practical method to compute the Jacobian matrices of generalized Chebyshev polynomials associated to arbitrary semisimple Lie algebras. The entries of each Jacobian matrix can be expressed as a linear combination of characters of irreducible representations of the underlying Lie algebra with integer coefficients. These integer coefficients can be obtained by basic computations in the fundamental Weyl chamber.
The aim of the paper is to prove two conjectures that the (left and right) global dimension of the algebra of polynomial integro-differential operators $\mathbb{I}_n$ and the Jacobian algebra $\mathbb{A}_n$ is equal to $n$ (over a field of characteristic zero). An analogue of Hilbert's Syzygy Theorem is proven for them. The algebras $\mathbb{I}_n$ and $\mathbb{A}_n$ are neither left nor right Noetherian. Furthermore, they contain infinite direct sums of nonzero left/right ideals and are not domains. It is proven that the global dimension of all prime factor algebras of the algebras $\mathbb{I}…
It is known that every 3-dimensional noetherian Calabi-Yau algebra generated in degree 1 is isomorphic to a Jacobian algebra of a superpotential. Recently, S. P. Smith and the first author classified all superpotentials whose Jacobian algebras are 3-dimensional noetherian quadratic Calabi-Yau algebras. The main result of this paper is to classify all superpotentials whose Jacobian algebras are 3-dimensional noetherian cubic Calabi-Yau algebras. As an application, we show that if $S$ is a 3-dimensional noetherian cubic Calabi-Yau algebra and $σ$ is a graded algebra automorphism of $S$, then the…
Using the author's inversion formula for automorphisms of the Weyl algebras with polynomial coefficients and the bound on its degree a slightly shorter (algebraic) proof is given of the result of A. Belov-Kanel and M. Kontsevich that the Jacobian Conjecture implies the Dixmier Proplem. No originality is claimed.
A polynomial endomorphism $σ\in {\rm End}_K(P_n)$ is called a Jacobian map if its Jacobian is a nonzero scalar (the field has zero characteristic). Each Jacobian map $σ$ is extended to an endomorphism $σ$ of the Weyl algebra $A_n$. The Jacobian Conjecture (JC) says that every Jacobian map is an automorphism. Clearly, the Jacobian Conjecture is true iff the twisted (by $σ$) $P_n$-module ${}^σ P_n$ is 1-generated for all Jacobian maps $σ$. It is shown that the $A_n$-module ${}^σ P_n$ is 1-generated for all Jacobian maps $σ$. Furthermore, the $A_n$-module ${}^σ P_n$ is holonomic and as a result h…
Thanks to recent results on ring homomorphisms of Azumaya algebras and to the following ones about endomorphisms of canonical Poisson algebras and Dirac quantum algebras, and about the reformulation in positive characteristic of these conjectures in characteristic zero, we prove the equivalence of these three conjectures in any characteristic, giving also by this way a new proof of the equivalence of the complex version of the two first conjectures recently proved by Y. Tsuchimoto.
Let $ K[x, y]$ be the polynomial algebra in two variables over a field $K$ of characteristic $0$. A subalgebra $R$ of $K[x, y]$ is called a retract if there is an idempotent homomorphism (a {\it retraction}, or {\it projection}) $φ: K[x, y] \to K[x, y]$ such that $φ(K[x, y]) = R$. The presence of other, equivalent, definitions of retracts provides several different methods of studying them, and brings together ideas from combinatorial algebra, homological algebra, and algebraic geometry. In this paper, we characterize all the retracts of $ K[x, y]$ up to an automorphism, and give several appli…
The Jacobian conjecture in dimension $n$ asserts that any polynomial endomorphism of $n$-dimensional affine space over a field of zero characteristic, with the Jacobian equal 1, is invertible. The Dixmier conjecture in rank $n$ asserts that any endomorphism of the $n$-th Weyl algebra (the algebra of polynomial differential operators in $n$ variables) is invertible. We prove that the Jacobian conjecture in dimension $2n$ implies the Dixmier conjecture in rank $n$. Together with a well-known implication in the opposite direction, it shows that the stable Jacobian and Dixmier conjectures are equi…
