Supersymmetric terms in the effective action of N=2 supergravity in four dimensions are generically classified into chiral-superspace integrals and full-superspace integrals. For a theory of N=2 vector multiplets coupled to supergravity, a special class of couplings is given by chiral-superspace integrals that are governed by a holomorphic prepotential function. The quantum entropy of BPS black holes in such theories depends on the prepotential according to a known integral formula. We show, using techniques of localization, that a large class of full-superspace integrals in the effective action of N=2 supergravity do not contribute to the quantum entropy of BPS black holes at any level in the derivative expansion. Our work extends similar results for semi-classical supersymmetric black hole entropy, and goes towards providing an explanation of why the prepotential terms capture the exact microscopic quantum black hole entropy.

This paper presents a detailed discussion of the issue of supergravity perturbations around the flat five dimensional superspace required for manifest superspace formulations of the supergravity side of the AdS_{5}/CFT_{4} Correspondence.
Linearized supergravity in arbitrary dimension is reformulated into a first order formalism which treats the graviton and its dual on the same footing at the level of the action. This generalizes previous work by other authors in two directions: 1) we work in arbitrary space-time dimension, and 2) the gravitino field and supersymmetry are also considered. This requires the construction of conformally invariant curvatures (the Cotton fields) for a family of mixed symmetry tensors and tensor-spinors, whose properties we prove (invariance; completeness; conformal Poincaré lemma). We use these geo…
We give a simple proof of the relation $Λ\p_artialΛ\F= {i\over2π}b_1\langle\Trϕ^2\rangle$, which is valid for $N=2$ supersymmetric QCD with massless quarks. We consider $SU(N_c)$ gauge theories as well as $SO(N_c)$ and $SP(N_c)$. Aa analogous relation which corresponds to massive hypermultiplets is written down. We also discuss the generalizations to $N=1$ models in the Coulomb phase.
Proposals are made to describe the Weyl scaling transformation laws of supercovariant derivatives $\nabla{}_{\underline A}$, the torsion supertensors $T{}_{{\underline A} \, {\underline B}}{}^{\underline C}$, and curvature supertensors $R{}_{{\underline A} \, {\underline B}}{}_{\, \underline c} {}^{\underline d}$ in 10D superspaces. Starting from the proposal that an unconstrained supergravity prepotential for the 11D, $\mathcal{N}$ = 1 theory is described by a scalar superfield, considerations for supergravity prepotentials in the 10D theories are enumerated. We derive infinitesimal 10D super…
We study the mass-deformed sphere free energy of three-dimensional $\mathcal{N} = 2$ superconformal field theories with holographic duals. Building on previous observations, we conjecture a proportionality relation between the sphere free energy on the boundary and the prepotential of the four-dimensional $\mathcal{N} = 2$ supergravity theory in the bulk. We verify this formula by explicit computation in several examples of supergravity theories with vector multiplets and hypermultiplets.
We present a complete solution of the constraints for three-dimensional N=2 conformal supergravity in terms of unconstrained prepotentials. This allows us to develop a prepotential description of the off-shell versions of N=2 Poincare and anti-de Sitter supergravity theories constructed in arXiv:1109.0496.

We present a complete solution of the constraints for two-dimensional, N=2 supergravity in N=2 superspace. We obtain explicit expressions for the covariant derivatives in terms of the vector superfield $H^m$ and, for the two versions of minimal (2,2) supergravity, a chiral or twisted chiral scalar superfield $ϕ$.
We calculate one-loop contributions to the Kaehler potential in 4D effective theory of 5D gauged supergravity (SUGRA) on S^1/Z_2 with a generic form of the prepotential and arbitrary boundary terms. Our result is applicable to a wide class of 5D SUGRA models. The derivation is systematically performed by means of an N=1 superfield formalism based on the superconformal formulation of 5D SUGRA. As an illustrative example, we provide an explicit expression of the Kaehler potential in the case of 5D flat spacetime.
We study the supersymmetry breaking patterns in four-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=2$ gauged supergravity. The model contains multiple (Abelian) vector multiplets and a single hypermultiplet which parametrizes SO$(4,1)/{\rm{SO}}(4)$ coset. We derive the expressions of two gravitino masses under {\it{general}} gaugings and prepotential based on the embedding tensor formalism, and discuss their behaviors in some concrete models. Then we confirm that in a single vector multiplet case, the partial breaking always occurs when the third derivative of the prepotential exists at the vacuum, which is consis…
The holomorphic homogeneous prepotential encoding the special geometry of the special Kähler manifolds ${\textstyle SU(1,n)\over \textstyle U(1)\otimes SU(n)}$ is constructed using the symplectic embedding of the isometry group $SU(1,n)$ into $Sp(2n+2,{\hbox{\bf R}})$. Also the automorphic functions of these manifolds are discussed.
We continue our study of one-loop integrals associated to BPS-saturated amplitudes in $\mathcal{N}=2$ heterotic vacua. We compute their large-volume behaviour, and express them as Fourier series in the complexified volume, with Fourier coefficients given in terms of Niebur-Poincaré series in the complex structure modulus. The closure of Niebur-Poincaré series under modular derivatives implies that such integrals derive from holomorphic prepotentials $f_n$, generalising the familiar prepotential of $\mathcal{N}=2$ supergravity. These holomorphic prepotentials transform anomalously under T-duali…
We compute certain one-loop corrections to F^4 couplings of the heterotic string compactified on T^2, and show that they can be characterized by holomorphic prepotentials. We then discuss how some of these couplings can be obtained in F-theory, or more precisely from 7-brane geometry in type IIB language. We in particular study theories with E_8 x E_8 and SO(8)^4 gauge symmetry, on certain one-dimensional sub-spaces of the moduli space that correspond to constant IIB coupling. For these theories, the relevant geometry can be mapped to Riemann surfaces. Physically, the computations amount to no…
Starting with the prepotential description of two-dimensional $(2,2)$ supergravity we use local supersymmetry transformations to go to light-cone gauge. We discuss properties of the theory in this gauge and derive Ward identities for correlation functions defined with respect to the induced supergravity action.
We describe the linearized supergeometry of eleven dimensional supergravity with four off-shell local supersymmetries. We start with a background Minkowski 11D, N=1 superspace, and an additional ingredient of a global, constant, $G_2$-structure which facilitates the definition of a $4|4+7$ background superspace. A bottom-up construction of linear fluctuations of the geometric constituents (such as supervielbein, spin connection, and the super 3-form of 11D supergravity) is given in terms of 4D, N=1 prepotential superfields. This is complemented by a top-down description of the linearized super…
We find a class of d=4, N=2 supergravity with $R^2$-interactions that admits exact BPS black holes. The prepotential contains quadratic, cubic and chiral curvature-squared terms. Black hole geometry realizes stretched horizon, and consists of anti-de Sitter, intermediate and outermost flat regions. Mass and entropy depends on charges and are modified not only by higher curvature terms but also by quadratic term in the prepotential. Consequently, even for large charges, entropy is no longer proportional to mass-squared.
We describe various aspects of two-dimensional $N=2$ supergravity in superspace. We present the solution to the constraints in terms of unconstrained prepotentials, and the different superspace measures (full and chiral) used in the construction of invariant actions. We discuss aspects of the theory in light-cone gauge, including the Ward identities for correlation functions defined with respect to the induced supergravity action.
We give a twisted holomorphic superspace description for the super-Yang-Mills theory, using holomorphic and antiholomorphic decompositions of twisted spinors. We consider the case of the N=1 super-Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions. We solve the constraints in two different manners, without and with a prepotential. This might have further application for an holomorphic superspace description of N=1,d=10 theory. We also explain how the N=1 and N=2 holomorphic superspaces are related.
We show that in special Kähler geometry of $N=2$ space-time supergravity the gauge variant part of the connection is holomorphic and flat (in a Riemannian sense). A set of differential identities (Picard-Fuchs identities) are satisfied on a holomorphic bundle. The relationship with the differential equations obeyed by the periods of the holomorphic three form of Calabi-Yau manifolds is outlined.
In the framework of the prepotential description of superspace two-dimensional $(2,2)$ supergravity, we discuss the construction of invariant integrals. In addition to the full superspace measure, we derive the measure for chiral superspace, and obtain the explicit expressions for going from superspace actions to component actions. We consider both the minimal $U_A(1)$ and the extended $U_V(1) \otimes U_A(1)$ theories.
An explicit surjection from a set of (locally defined) unconstrained holomorphic functions on a certain submanifold of (Sp_1(C) \times C^{4n}) onto the set HK_{p,q} of local isometry classes of real analytic pseudo-hyperkähler metrics of signature (4p,4q) in dimension 4n is constructed. The holomorphic functions, called prepotentials, are analogues of Kähler potentials for Kähler metrics and provide a complete parameterisation of HK_{p,q}. In particular, there exists a bijection between HK_{p,q} and the set of equivalence classes of prepotentials. This affords the explicit construction of pseu…
We consider the generating function (prepotential) for Gromov-Witten invariants of rational elliptic surface. We apply the local mirror principle to calculate the prepotential and prove a certain recursion relation, holomorphic anomaly equation, for genus 0 and 1. We propose the holomorphic anomaly equation for all genera and apply it to determine higher genus Gromov-Witten invariants and also the BPS states on the surface. Generalizing Göttsche's formula for the Hilbert scheme of $g$ points on a surface, we find precise agreement of our results with the proposal recently made by Gopakumar and…
We investigate the construction of five-dimensional supergravity solutions that don't have any tri-holomorphic U(1) isometries. We construct a class of solutions that in various limits of parameters reduces to many of previously constructed five-dimensional supergravity solutions based on both hyper-Kahler base spaces that can be put into a Gibbons-Hawking form and hyper-Kahler base spaces that can't be put into a Gibbons-Hawking form. We find a new solution which is over triaxial Bianchi type IX Einstein-hyperkahler base space with no tri-holomorphic U(1) symmetry. One special case of this so…
We present new results towards the construction of the most general black hole solutions in four-dimensional Fayet-Iliopoulos gauged supergravities. In these theories black holes can be asymptotically AdS and have arbitrary mass, angular momentum, electric and magnetic charges and NUT charge. Furthermore, a wide range of horizon topologies is allowed (compact and noncompact) and the complex scalar fields have a nontrivial radial and angular profile. We construct a large class of solutions in the simplest single scalar model with prepotential $F = -i X^0 X^1$ and discuss their thermodynamics. M…
In an earlier paper (hep-th/0101127), we developed heat kernel techniques in N = 2 harmonic superspace for the calculation of the low-energy effective action of N = 4 SYM theory, which can be considered as the most symmetric N = 2 SYM theory. Here, the results are extended to generic N = 2 SYM theories. This involves a prescription for computing the variation of the hypermultiplet effective action. Integrability of this variation allows the hypermultiplet effective action to be deduced. This prescription permits a very simple superfield derivation of the perturbative holomorphic prepotential. …
The N-extended supersymmetric self-dual Poincaré supergravity equations provide a natural local description of supermanifolds possessing hyperkähler structure. These equations admit an economical formulation in chiral superspace. A reformulation in harmonic superspace encodes self-dual supervielbeins and superconnections in a graded skew-symmetric supermatrix superfield prepotential satisfying generalised Cauchy-Riemann conditions. A recipe is presented for extracting explicit self-dual supervielbeins and superconnections from such `analytic' prepotentials. We demonstrate the method by explici…
We present, in the N=2, D=4 harmonic superspace formalism, a general method for constructing the off-shell effective action of an N=2 abelian gauge superfield coupled to matter hypermultiplets. Using manifestly N=2 supersymmetric harmonic supergraph techniques, we calculate the low-energy corrections to the renormalized one-loop effective action in terms of N=2 (anti)chiral superfield strengths. For a harmonic gauge prepotential with vanishing vacuum expectation value, corresponding to massless hypermultiplets, the only non-trivial radiative corrections to appear are non-holomorphic. For a pre…
Three-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=4$ supersymmetric field theories admit a natural class of chiral half-BPS boundary conditions that preserve $\mathcal{N}=(0,4)$ supersymmetry. While such boundary conditions are not compatible with topological twists, deformations that define boundary conditions for the topological theories were recently introduced by Costello and Gaiotto. Not all $\mathcal{N}=(0,4)$ boundary conditions admit such deformations. We revisit this construction, working directly in the setting of the holomorphically twisted theory and viewing the topological twists as further deformat…
The first complete and explicit SO(1,9) Lorentz descriptions of all component fields contained in $\mathcal{N} = 1$, $\mathcal{N} = 2$A, and $\mathcal{N} = 2$B unconstrained scalar 10D superfields are presented. These are made possible by the discovery of the relation of the superfield component expansion as a consequence of the branching rules of irreducible representations in one ordinary Lie algebra into one of its Lie subalgebras. Adinkra graphs for ten dimensional superspaces are defined for the first time, whose nodes depict spin bundle representations of SO(1,9). An analog of Breitenloh…
The embedding of the isometry group of the coset spaces SU(1,n)/ U(1)xSU(n) in Sp(2n+2,R) is discussed. The knowledge of such embedding provides a tool for the determination of the holomorphic prepotential characterizing the special geometry of these manifolds and necessary in the superconformal tensor calculus of N=2 supergravity. It is demonstrated that there exists certain embeddings for which the homogeneous prepotential does not exist. Whether a holomorphic function exists or not, the dependence of the gauge kinetic terms on the scalars characterizing these coset in N=2 supergravity theor…
This paper describes a fully covariant approach to harmonic superspace. It is based on the conformal superspace description of conformal supergravity and involves extending the supermanifold M^{4|8} by the tangent bundle of CP^1. The resulting superspace M^{4|8} x TCP^1 can be identified in a certain gauge with the conventional harmonic superspace M^{4|8} x S^2. This approach not only makes the connection to projective superspace transparent, but simplifies calculations in harmonic superspace significantly by eliminating the need to deal directly with supergravity prepotentials. As an applicat…
Based on recent proposals linking four and five-dimensional BPS solutions, we discuss the explicit dictionary between general stationary 4D and 5D supersymmetric solutions in N=2 supergravity theories with cubic prepotentials. All these solutions are completely determined in terms of the same set of harmonic functions and the same set of attractor equations. As an example, we discuss black holes and black rings in Gödel-Taub-NUT spacetime. Then we consider corrections to the 4D solutions associated with more general prepotentials and comment on analogous corrections on the 5D side.
Supergravity solution describing two intersecting M5-branes is presented. The branes are fixed in the relative transverse directions and are delocalized along the overall transverse ones. The intersection can be smoothed, so that the M5-branes present one holomorphic cycle. We also obtain a solution corresponding to an M5-brane on a holomorphic cycle of multi-Taub-NUT space. All these solutions preserve 1/4 of supersymmetry.
We briefly review the description of the internal sector of supergravity theories in the language of generalised geometry and how this gives rise to a description of supersymmetric backgrounds as integrable geometric structures. We then review recent work, featuring holomorphic Courant algebroids, on the description of $\mathcal N=1$ heterotic flux vacua. This work studied the finite deformation problem of the Hull-Strominger system, guided by consideration of the superpotential functional on the relevant space of geometries. It rewrote the system in terms of the Maurer-Cartan set of a particu…
We compute the quantum gravity partition function of M-theory on $AdS_4 \times X_7 $ by using localization techniques in four-dimensional gauged supergravity obtained by a consistent truncation on the Sasaki-Einstein manifold $X_{7}$. The supergravity path integral reduces to a finite dimensional integral over two collective coordinates that parametrize the localizing instanton solutions. The renormalized action of the off-shell instanton solutions depends linearly and holomorphically on the "square root" prepotential evaluated at the center of $AdS_{4}$. The partition function resembles the L…
We consider configurations of D7-branes and whole and fractional D3-branes with N=2 supersymmetry. On the supergravity side these have a warp factor, three-form flux and a nonconstant dilaton. We discuss general IIB solutions of this type and then obtain the specific solutions for the D7/D3 system. On the gauge side the D7-branes add matter in the fundamental representation of the D3-brane gauge theory. We find that the gauge and supergravity metrics on moduli space agree. However, in many cases the supergravity curvature is large even when the gauge theory is strongly coupled. In these cases …
We introduce a first order description of linearized non-minimal ($n=-1$) supergravity in superspace, using the unconstrained prepotential superfield instead of the conventionally constrained super one forms. In this description, after integrating out the connection-like auxiliary superfield of first-order formalism, the superspace action is expressed in terms of a single superfield which combines the prepotential and compensator superfields. We use this description to construct the supersymmetric cubic interaction vertex $3/2-3/2-1/2$ which describes the electromagnetic interaction between tw…
In this paper we study the thermodynamics of rotating black hole solutions arising from four-dimensional gauged N=2 supergravity. We analyze two different supergravity models, characterized by prepotentials $F = -i X^0 X^1$ and $F= -2i \sqrt{X^0 (X^1)^3}$. The black hole configurations are supported by electromagnetic charges and scalar fields with different kinds of boundary conditions. We perform our analysis in the canonical ensemble, where we find a first order phase transition for a suitable range of charges and angular momentum. We perform the thermodynamic stability check on the configu…
We construct supergravity solutions dual to the twisted field theories arising when M-theory membranes wrap holomorphic curves in Calabi-Yau n-folds. The solutions are constructed in an Abelian truncation of maximal D=4 gauged supergravity and then uplifted to D=11. For four-folds and five-folds we find new smooth AdS/CFT examples and for all cases we analyse the nature of the singularities that arise. Our results provide an interpretation of certain charged topological AdS black holes. We also present the generalised calibration two-forms for the solutions.
We give a rather general recipe for constructing nonextremal black hole solutions to N=2, D=4 gauged supergravity coupled to abelian vector multiplets. This problem simplifies considerably if one uses the formalism developed in arXiv:1112.2876, based on dimensional reduction and the real formulation of special geometry. We use this to find new nonextremal black holes for several choices of the prepotential, that generalize the BPS solutions found in arXiv:0911.4926. Some physical properties of these black holes are also discussed.
The N-extended self-dual supergravity in the ultra-hyperbolic four-dimensional spacetime of kleinian signature (2+2) is given in the N-extended harmonic superspace. We reformulate the on-shell N-extended self-dual supergravity constraints of Siegel to a `zero-curvature' representation, and solve all of them but one in terms of a single superfield prepotential, by using a covariant Frobenius gauge in the Devchand-Ogievetsky approach. An off-shell superspace action, whose equation of motion yields the remaining constraint, is found. Our manifestly Lorentz-covariant action in harmonic superspace …
We use the relation between extremal black hole solutions in five- and in four-dimensional N=2 supergravity theories with cubic prepotentials to define the entropy function for extremal black holes with one angular momentum in five dimensions. We construct two types of solutions to the associated attractor equations.
We consider, at the linearized level, the superspace formulation of lower-dimensional F-theory. In particular, we describe the embedding of 3D Type II supergravity of the superstring, or 4D, N=1 supergravity of M-theory, into the corresponding F-theory in full detail, giving the linearized action and gauge transformations in terms of the prepotential. This manifestly supersymmetric formulation reveals some features not evident from a component treatment, such as Weyl and local S-supersymmetry invariances. The linearized multiplet appears as a super 3-form (just as that for the manifestly T-dua…
We propose a new superspace formulation for N=(4,4) conformal supergravity in two dimensions. This is based on a geometry where the structure group of the curved superspace is chosen to be SO(1,1) x SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R. The off-shell supergravity multiplet possesses super-Weyl transformations generated by an unconstrained real scalar superfield. The new supergravity formulation turns out to be an extension of the minimal multiplet introduced in 1988 by Gates et. al. and it allows the existence of various off-shell matter supermultiplets. Covariant twisted-II and twisted-I multiplets respectively…
We obtain holographic constraints on the microscopic degeneracies of black holes by computing the exact macroscopic quantum entropy using localization, including the effects of string worldsheet instantons in the supergravity effective action. For $\frac14$-BPS black holes in type II string theory on $K3 \times T^{2}$, the constraints can be explicitly checked against expressions for the microscopic BPS counting functions that are known in terms of certain mock modular forms. We find that the effect of including the infinite sum over instantons in the holomorphic prepotential of the supergravi…
In arXiv:0902.4814, a general recipe to construct fake supersymmetric solutions to fake N=2, d=4 gauged supergravity coupled to abelian vector multiplets was presented. We use these results to find new multi-centered black hole solutions in an asymptotically FLRW universe. These satisfy the weak energy condition and are maximally charged under two U(1) gauge fields coupled to a scalar, which drives the cosmic expansion while rolling down its potential. As a special subcase, our black holes include the ones constructed previously by Gibbons and Maeda in arXiv:0912.2809. The latter contain two n…
We discuss the degeneracies of 4D and 5D BPS black holes in toroidal compactifications of M-theory or type II string theory, using U-duality as a tool. We generalize the 4D/5D lift to include all charges in N=8 supergravity, and compute the exact indexed degeneracies of certain 4D 1/8-BPS black holes. Using the attractor formalism, we obtain the leading micro-canonical entropy for arbitrary Legendre invariant prepotentials and non-vanishing D6-brane charge. In particular, we find that the N=8 prepotential is given to leading order by the cubic invariant of $E_6$. This suggests that the minimal…
We study a new class of inhomogeneous pp-wave solutions with 8 unbroken supersymmetries in D=11 supergravity. The 9 dimensional transverse space is Euclidean and split into 3 and 6 dimensional subspaces. The solutions have non-constant gauge flux, which are described in terms of an arbitrary holomorphic function of the complexified 6 dimensional space. The supermembrane and matrix theory descriptions are also provided and we identify the relevant supersymmetry transformation rules. The action also arises through a dimensional reduction of N=1, D=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory coupled to 3 …
An N=1 Poincare supergravity action, suitable for describing the Starobinsky inflation, is proposed. It extends f(R) gravity to supergravity in its old-minimal version. The action is parametrized by a single holomorphic potential and a single non-holomorphic potential, and can be dualized into the standard matter-coupled supergravity action, with the "matter" given by two chiral superfields. The action extends the earlier proposals for embedding the Starobinsky inflation into supergravity, and can be further generalized to include quantum corrections to the inflation. Our approach assumes the …
We study static BPS black hole horizons in four dimensional N=2 gauged supergravity coupled to $n_v$-vector multiplets and with an arbitrary cubic prepotential. We work in a symplectically covariant formalism which allows for both electric and magnetic gauging parameters as well as dyonic background charges and obtain the general solution to the BPS equations for horizons of the form $AdS_2\times Σ_g$. In particular this means we solve for the scalar fields as well as the metric of these black holes as a function of the gauging parameters and background charges. When the special Kahler manifol…
Supersymmetric black holes in AdS spacetime are inherently interesting for the AdS/CFT correspondence. Within a four dimensional gauged supergravity theory coupled to vector multiplets, the only analytic solutions for regular, supersymmetric, static black holes in AdS4 are those in the STU-model due to Cacciatori and Klemm. We study a class of U(1)-gauged supergravity theories coupled to vector multiplets which have a cubic prepotential, the scalar manifold is then a very special Kahler manifold. When the resulting very special Kahler manifold is a homogeneous space, we find analytic solutions…
We consider ${\cal N}=4$ conformal supergravity with an arbitrary holomorphic function of the complex scalar $S$ which parametrizes the $SU(1,1)/U(1)$ coset. Assuming non-vanishings vevs for $S$ and the scalars in a symmetric matrix $E_{ij}$ of the $\overline{\bf 10}$ of $SU(4)$ R-symmetry group, we determine the vacuum structure of the theory. We find that the possible vacua are classified by the number of zero eigenvalues of the scalar matrix and the spacetime is either Minkowski, de Sitter or anti-de Sitter. We determine the spectrum of the scalar fluctuations and we find that it contains t…
We investigate the existence of solutions with 16 residual supersymmetries to Type IIB supergravity on a space-time of the form $AdS_6 \times S^2$ warped over a two-dimensional Riemann surface $Σ$. The $SO(2,5) \times SO(3)$ isometry extends to invariance under the exceptional Lie superalgebra $F(4)$. In the present paper, we construct the general Ansatz compatible with these symmetries, derive the corresponding reduced BPS equations, and obtain their complete local solution in terms of two locally holomorphic functions ${\cal A}_\pm$ on $Σ$, subject to certain positivity and regularity condit…
We study the possibility of constructing non-BPS charged black holes in 5D Poincare supergravity by partially violating superconformal Killing spinor equations. However, solutions to these modified first order equations are inconsistent with the second order equations of motion beyond the near horizon region. Instead we find, for special prepotentials, that the consistent asymptotically flat extension of the non-BPS near horizon solution is generated by a symmetry transformation that leaves the two-derivative action invariant.
Using the general recipe given in arXiv:0804.0009, where all timelike supersymmetric solutions of N=2, D=4 gauged supergravity coupled to abelian vector multiplets were classified, we construct the first examples of genuine supersymmetric black holes in AdS_4 with nonconstant scalar fields. This is done for various choices of the prepotential, amongst others for the STU model. These solutions permit to study the BPS attractor flow in AdS. We also determine the most general supersymmetric static near-horizon geometry and obtain the attractor equations in gauged supergravity. As a general featur…
The generalised calibration for a wrapped membrane is gauge equivalent to the supergravity three-form under which the membrane is electrically charged. Given the relevant calibration, one can go a long way towards constructing the supergravity solution for the wrapped brane. Applications of this method have been restricted since generalised calibrations have not yet been completely classified in spacetimes with non-vanishing flux. In this paper, we take a first step towards such a classification by studying membranes wrapping holomorphic curves. Supersymmetry preservation imposes a constraint …
Freudenthal duality in N=2, D=4 ungauged supergravity is generated by an anti-involutive operator that acts on the electromagnetic fluxes, and results to be a symmetry of the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy. We show that, with a suitable extension, this duality can be generalized to the abelian gauged case as well, even in presence of hypermultiplets. By defining Freudenthal duality along the scalar flow, one can prove that two configurations of charges and gaugings linked by the Freudenthal operator share the same set of values of the scalar fields at the black hole horizon. Consequently, Freudent…
