The theory of Bogoliubov is generalized for the case of a weakly-interacting Bose-gas in harmonic trap. A set of nonlinear matrix equations is obtained to make the diagonalization of Hamiltonian possible. Its perturbative solution is used for the calculation of the energy and the condensate fraction of the model system to show the applicability of the method.

We prove that in the Weak Harmonic Trap (WHT) limit there are two phases distinguished by the boson condensation and by a different behaviour of the local particle density. We consider systems of $N$ bosons in $\mathbb{R}^3$, trapped by an external potential. The interaction is repulsive and has a scattering length of the order $N^{-1}$ (Gross-Pitaevskii regime). We determine the ground state energy and the low-energy excitation spectrum up to errors that vanish in the limit $N\to \infty$.
The one-particle density matrix of the one-dimensional Tonks-Girardeau gas with inhomogeneous density profile is calculated, thanks to a recent observation that relates this system to a two-dimensional conformal field theory in curved space. We study the many-body dynamics of an initially factorized bosonic wave function in the mean-field regime. We prove large deviation estimates for the fluctuations around the condensate. We derive an upper bound extending a recent result to more general interactions. Furthermore, we derive a new lower bound which agrees with the upper bound in leading order.
We study condensation of trapped bosons in the limit when the number of particles tends to infinity. For the noninteracting gas we prove that there is no phase transition in any dimension, but in any dimension at any temperature the system is 100% condensated into the one-particle ground state. In the case of an interacting gas we show that for a family of suitably scaled pair interactions, the Gross-Pitaevskii scaling included, a less-than-100% condensation into a one-particle eigenstate, which may depend on the interaction strength, persists at all temperatures.

We study the evolution of a N-body weakly interacting system of Bosons. Our work forms an extension of our previous paper I, in which we derived a second-order correction to a mean-field evolution law for coherent states in the presence of small interaction potential. Here, we remove the assumption of smallness of the interaction potential and prove global existence of solutions to the equation for the second-order correction. This implies an improved Fock-space estimate for our approximation of the N-body state.
The ground state properties of interacting Bose gases in external potentials, as considered in recent experiments, are usually described by means of the Gross-Pitaevskii energy functional. We present here the first proof of the asymptotic exactness of this approximation for the ground state energy and particle density of a dilute Bose gas with a positive interaction.
