The characterization of hot quasi-projectiles produced in symmetric or quasi-symmetric reactions (Au + Au, Xe + Sn, Ni + Ni, Ar + KCl) at di erent incident energies are estimated by means of two di erent procedures. The advantages and disadvantages of each method are analyzed on the basis of simulations using events produced by two slightly di erent models: HIPSE and ELIE.
An investigation of the isospin equilibration process in the reactions $^{58,64}$Ni+$^{58,64}$Ni at two bombarding energies in the Fermi regime ($32\,$MeV/nucleon and $52\,$MeV/nucleon) is presented. Data have been acquired during the first experimental campaign of the coupled INDRA-FAZIA apparatus in GANIL. Selecting from peripheral to semi-central collisions, both the neutron content of the quasiprojectile residue and that of the light ejectiles coming from the quasiprojectile evaporation have been used as probes of the dynamical process of isospin diffusion between projectile and target for…
In nuclear thermodynamics, the determination of the excitation energy of hot nuclei is a fundamental experimental problem. Instrumental physicists have been trying to solve this problem for several years by building the most exhaustive 4Pi detector arrays and perfecting their calorimetry techniques. In a recent paper, a proposal for a new calorimetry, called "3D calorimetry", was made. It tries to optimize the separation between the particles and fragments emitted by the Quasi-Projectile and the other possible contributions. This can be achieved by determining the experimental probability for …
We investigate the isospin transport with 40,48 Ca+ 40,48 Ca reactions at 35 MeV/nucleon, measured with the coupling of the VAMOS high acceptance spectrometer and the INDRA charged particle multidetector. Using the quasi-projectile remnant measured with VAMOS and carefully selected light-charged-particles measured in coincidence with INDRA, a reconstruction method is applied to estimate the excited quasi-projectile (QP) on an event-by-event basis. The isospin diffusion is investigated using the isospin transport ratio with the asymmetry $δ$ = (N -- Z)/A of the projectile as an isospin-sensitiv…
This paper reports a new route for production of 190-193Au radionuclides from natW target. For the first time the production cross section of 11B induced reactions on tungsten for production of 190-193Au were measured up to 63 MeV boron energy. High cross section was observed for 190,192Au at the highest energy where as 191,193Au showed moderate cross section values. The experimentally obtained cross sections were compared with the predictions of the PACE4 and EMPIRE3.2.2 code.
By using freeze-out properties of multifragmenting hot nuclei produced in quasifusion central $^{129}$Xe+$^{nat}$Sn collisions at different beam energies (32, 39, 45 and 50 AMeV) which were estimated by means of a simulation based on experimental data collected by the $4π$ INDRA multidetector, heat capacity in the thermal excitation energy range 4 - 12.5 AMeV was calculated from total kinetic energies and multiplicities at freeze-out. The microcanonical formulation was employed. Negative heat capacity which signs a first order phase transition for finite systems is observed and confirms previo…
We report experimental signals of Bose-Einstein condensation in the decay of hot Ca projectile-like sources produced in mid-peripheral collisions at sub-Fermi energies. The experimental setup, constituted by the coupling of the INDRA 4$π$ detector array to the forward angle VAMOS magnetic spectrometer, allowed us to reconstruct the mass, charge and excitation energy of the decaying hot projectile-like sources. Furthermore, by means of quantum fluctuation analysis techniques, temperatures and mean volumes per particle "as seen by" bosons and fermions separately are correlated to the excitation …
The richness of the data set, collected by the INDRA collaboration during the last twenty years, enabled us to build a set of caloric curves for nuclei of various sizes, by using, for the first time, a single experimental set-up and a single experimental protocol. We will therefore present the different caloric curves ($E^{\ast}-T$) obtained by a new calorimetry, for Quasi-Projectiles produced by symmetric or quasi symmetric reactions at different incident energies (Au+Au, Xe+Sn, Ni+Ni). For all these systems, a clear change of the de-excitation process of hot nuclei is observed but this one i…
\item[Background]Heavy-ion reactions from barrier up to Fermi energy. \item[Purpose]Reaction and fusion cross sections determination. Fusion reactions induced by $^{129}Xe$ projectiles on $^{nat}Sn$ targets for energies ranging from $8$ A.MeV to $35$ A.MeV were measured with the INDRA $4π$-array.\\ The evaluation of the fusion/incomplete fusion cross sections for the incident energies from 8 to 35 A.MeV is the main purpose of this paper. \item[Method] The reaction cross sections are evaluated for each beam energy thanks to INDRA $4π$-array. The events are also sorted in order to focus the stud…
Isochronous mass spectrometry was applied to measure isomeric yield ratios of fragmentation reaction products. This approach is complementary to conventional gamma-ray spectroscopy in particular for measuring yield ratios for long-lived isomeric states. Isomeric yield ratios for the high-spin I = 19/2 states in the mirror nuclei 53Fe and 53Co are measured to study angular momentum population following the projectile fragmentation of 78Kr at energies of 480A MeV on a beryllium target. The 19/2 state isomeric ratios of 53Fe produced from different projectiles in the literature have also been ext…
Production of Neutron-rich Heavy Residues and the Freeze-out Temperature in the Fragmentation of Relativistic 238U Projectiles Determined by the Isospin Thermometer
Nuclear particle production from peripheral to central events is presented. N/Z gradient between projectile and target is studied using the fact that two reactions have the same projectile+target N/Z and so the same neutron to proton ratio for the combined system. Inclusive data study in the forward part of the center of mass indicates that N/Z equilibration between the projectile-like and the target-like is achieved for central collisions. Particles are also produced from mid-rapidity region. 3He mean pre-equilibrium character is evidenced and 6He production at mid-rapidity implies a neutron …
Statistical and dynamical aspects in the decay of hot neutron-rich nuclei
Direct hard photon emissions from incoherent proton-neutron bremsstrahlung in collisions of the neutron-rich projectile $^{50}$Ca with $^{12}$C and $^{40}$Ca targets are simulated in the framework of the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics (IQMD) model. By adjusting the diffuseness parameter of neutron density in the droplet model to obtain different neutron skin thicknesses for $^{50}$Ca, the effects of neutron skin thickness on direct hard photon emission are investigated via several probes. The results show that more direct hard photons are produced with increasing neutron skin thi…

Electromagnetic fields produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions are affected by the asymmetry of the projectile-target combination as well as the different initial configurations of the nucleus. In this study, the results of the electric and magnetic fields produced for different combinations of ions, namely $^{12}$C + $^{197}$Au, $^{24}$Mg + $^{197}$Au, $^{64}$Cu + $^{197}$Au, and $^{197}$Au + $^{197}$Au at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 200$ GeV are demonstrated with a multi-phase transport model (AMPT). The configuration of the distribution of nucleons of $^{12}$C is initialized by a Woods-Saxon sph…
With the framework of the multi-source thermal model, we analyze the experimental transverse momentum spectra of various jets produced in different collisions at high energies. Two energy sources, a projectile participant quark and a target participant quark, are considered. Each energy source (each participant quark) is assumed to contribute to the transverse momentum distribution to be the TP-like function, i.e. a revised Tsallis--Pareto-type function. The contribution of the two participant quarks to the transverse momentum distribution is then the convolution of two TP-like functions. The …
The transverse momentum spectra of identified particles produced in high energy proton-proton ($p+p$) collisions are empirically described by a new method with the framework of participant quark model or the multisource model at the quark level, in which the source itself is exactly the participant quark. Each participant (constituent) quark contributes to the transverse momentum spectrum, which is described by the TP-like function, a revised Tsallis--Pareto-type function. The transverse momentum spectrum of the hadron is the convolution of two or more TP-like functions. For a lepton, the tran…
In this paper, dedicated to the memory of the late Prof. Jean Cleymans, the nuclear modification factors, $R_{xA}$, are investigated for pion production in small system collisions, measured by PHENIX experiment at RHIC (Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider). The theoretical framework is the transverse momentum $k_T$-factorization formalism for hard processes at small momentum fraction, $x$. Evidence for collective expansion and thermal effects for pions, produced at equilibrium, is studied based on phenomenological parametrization of blast-wave type in the relaxation time approximation. The depende…
The rapidity distributions of $J/ψ$ mesons produced in proton-lead ($p$-Pb) collisions at center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5$ TeV are studied by using a multisource thermal model and compared with the experimental data of the LHCb and ALICE Collaborations. Correspondingly, the pseudorapidity distributions are accurately obtained from the parameters extracted from the rapidity distributions. At the same time, the transverse momentum distributions in the same experiments are described by the simplest Erlang distribution which is the folding result of two exponential distribu…
