Particle-hole continuum (PHC) for massive Dirac fermions in presence of short range interactions, provides an unprecedented opportunity for formation of two collective split-off states, one in the singlet and the other in the triplet (spin-1) channel in undoped system. Both poles are close in energy and are separated from thec continuum of free particle-hole excitations by an energy scale of the order of gap parameter $Δ$. They both disperse linearly with two different velocities reminiscent of spin-charge separation in Luttinger liquids. When the strength of Hubbard interactions is stronger than a critical value, the velocity of singlet excitation which we interpret as a charge boson composite becomes zero, and renders the system a Mott insulator. Beyond this critical point, the low-energy sector is left with a linearly dispersing triplet mode -- a characteristic of a Mott insulator. The velocity of triplet mode at the Mott criticality is twice the velocity of underlying Dirac fermions. The phase transition line in the space of $U$ and $Δ$ is in qualitative agreement with a more involved dynamical mean field theory (DMFT) calculation.
We derive analytic expressions for the first three frequency moments of the single particle spectral function for one hole in a Mott insulator in terms of equilibrium spin correlation functions of the insulating state. We show that the ``remnant Fermi surface`` detected in ARPES experiments is, in fact, a reflection of the strong antiferromagnetic correlations of the system, {\it not} a reflection of the original band-structure Fermi surface. We suggest that ARPES data could be used to measure the magnetic specific heat.
We investigate the excitation spectrum of a two-dimensional resonating valence bond (RVB) state. Treating the $pi$-flux phase with antiferromagnetic correlations as a variational ground state, we recover the long wavelength magnon as an "RVB exciton". However, we find that this excitation does NOT exhaust the entire spectral weight and the high energy spectrum is dominated by fermionic excitations. The latter can be observed directly by inelastic neutron scattering and we predict their characteristic energy scales along different high symmetry directions in the magnetic Brillouin zone. We also…
We investigate how the antiferromagnetic Mott insulator evolves into the d-wave BCS superconductor through hole doping. Allowing spin fluctuations in the strong coupling approach, we find a spin-gapped incoherent metal with preformed pairing as an intermediate phase between the antiferromagnetic Mott insulator and d-wave superconductor. This non-Fermi liquid metal is identified with an infrared stable fixed point in the spin-decomposition gauge theory, analogous to the spin liquid insulator in the slave-boson gauge theory. We consider the single particle spectrum and dynamical spin susceptibil…
We theoretically analyse the process of charge recombination in the planar Mott-Hubbard insulators with the aim to explain short picosecond-range lifetime of photoexcited carriers, experimentally studied via pump-probe experiments on the undoped cuprates. The recombination mechanism consists of two essential ingredients: the formation of a metastable s-type bound holon-doublon pair, i.e. the Mott exciton, and the decay of such an excitonic state via the multimagnon emission. In spite of the large gap that requires many bosons to be emitted, latter process is fast due to large exchange scale an…
We reinvestigate a doped antiferromagnetic Mott insulator based on the slave-fermion approach of the t-J model, where antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations and doped holes are described by bosonic spinons and fermionic holons, respectively. Earlier studies have shown that an effective field theory for the doped antiferromagnetic Mott insulator is given by a non-relativistic fermion (holon) U(1) gauge theory for charge dynamics and a relativistic boson (spinon) U(1) gauge theory for spin dynamics, thus allowing an anomalous metallic phase where bosonic spinons are gapped away from an antiferromag…
$^{13}$C nuclear magnetic resonance measurements were performed for a single-component molecular material Zn(tmdt)$_{2}$, in which tmdt's form an arrangement similar to the so-called $κ$-type molecular packing in quasi-two-dimensional Mott insulators and superconductors. Detailed analysis of the powder spectra uncovered local spin susceptibility in the tmdt $π$ orbitals. The obtained shift and relaxation rate revealed the singlet-triplet excitations of the $π$ spins, indicating that Zn(tmdt)$_{2}$ is a spin-gapped Mott insulator with exceptionally large electron correlations compared to conven…
The role of Coulomb correlations in the iron pnictide LaFeAsO is studied by generalizing exact diagonalization dynamical mean field theory to five orbitals. For rotationally invariant Hund's rule coupling a continuous transition from a paramagnetic Fermi-liquid phase to a non-Fermi-liquid metallic phase exhibiting frozen moments is found at moderate Coulomb energies. For Ising-like exchange, this transition is first order and occurs at a lower critical Coulomb energy. The correlation-induced scattering rate as a function of doping relative to half-filling, i.e., delta = n/5-1, where n=6 for th…
Within the framework of a mean-field approach the Mott-Hubbard phase transition is considered in the Hubbard and Falicov-Kimball models for half-filled occupation. It is shown that a static Z_2-field forms an insulator state on the lattice with a double cell, its strength is determined by the Hubbard interaction. An uniform configuration of the Z_2-field corresponds to a gapless spin liquid state, the configuration, at which the lattice with a double cell is formed, corresponds to a gapped fermion liquid, fermions move in this field. Due to the presence of a static field in an insulator state,…
We study the effects of electron doping in Mott insulators containing d^4 ions such as Ru4+, Os4+, Rh5+, and Ir5+ with J=0 singlet ground state. Depending on the strength of the spin-orbit coupling, the undoped systems are either nonmagnetic or host an unusual, excitonic magnetism arising from a condensation of the excited J=1 triplet states of t_2g^4. We find that the interaction between J-excitons and doped carriers strongly supports ferromagnetism, converting both the nonmagnetic and antiferromagnetic phases of the parent insulator into a ferromagnetic metal, and further to a nonmagnetic me…
We use determinant Quantum Monte Carlo simulations and exact diagonalization to explore insulating behavior in the Hubbard model with a bimodal distribution of randomly positioned local site energies. From the temperature dependence of the compressibility and conductivity, we show that gapped, incompressible Mott insulating phases exist away from half filling when the variance of the local site energies is sufficiently large. The compressible regions around this Mott phase are metallic only if the density of sites with the corresponding energy exceeds the percolation threshold, but are Anderso…
We investigate the momentum distribution function near the Mott-Hubbard transition in the one-dimensional t1-t2 Hubbard model (the zig-zag Hubbard chain), with the density-matrix renormalization-group technique. We show that for strong interactions the Mott-Hubbard transition occurs between the metallic-phase and an insulating dimerized phase with incommensurate spin excitations, suggesting a decoupling of magnetic and charge excitations not present in weak coupling. We illustrate the signatures for the Mott-Hubbard transition and the commensurate-incommensurate transition in the insulating sp…
According to band theory, an ideal undoped (n,n) carbon nanotube is metallic. We show that the electron-electron interaction causes it to become Mott insulating with a spin gap. More interestingly, upon doping it develops superconducting fluctuations.
Whether the newly discovered KxFe2-ySe2 systems are doped Mott or band insulators is key to how superconductivity emerges at lower temperature. With extant theoretical studies supporting conflicting scenarios, a more realistic approach is urgently called for. Here, we use LDA+DMFT to study this issue in KxFe2-ySe2. We find that the undoped KFe1.6Se2 system is a new kind of Mott-Kondo insulator (MKI). Electron doping this MKI drives a Mott transition to an orbital-selective non-Fermi liquid metal. Good agreement with spectral and transport responses supports our view, implying that superconduct…
In this paper we study a bandwidth-controlled direct, continuous, phase transition from a Mott insulator, with easy plane Neel order, to a fully gapped $d_{x^2-y^2}$ superconductor with a doubled unit cell on the square lattice, a transition that is forbidden according to the Landau paradigm. This transition is made possible because the vortices of the antiferromagnet are charged and the vortices of the superconductor carry spins. These nontrivial vortex quantum numbers arise because the ordered phases are intimately related to a topological band insulator. We describe the lattice model as wel…
The Mott transition in honeycomb compounds with significant spin-orbit coupling is explored. At finite temperatures we identify a novel semimetallic phase located between a topological insulator and a topological Mott insulator. This semimetal is characterized by having no charge gap, no quasiparticles and gapped spin excitations with non-trivial topological properties. While charge conduction is incoherent involving mean-free paths violating the Mott-Ioffe-Regel limit, spin excitations can be transported ballistically along the edges giving rise to a quantized spin conductance. Such bad topol…
Whether a doped hole propagates as a Bloch wave or not is an important issue of doped Mott physics. Here we examine this problem based on the quasiparticle spectral weight $Z$ distribution, calculated by density matrix renormalization group (DMRG). By tuning the anisotropy of a two-leg $t$-$J$ ladder without closing the background spin gap, the $Z$ distribution unambiguously reveals a transition of the single hole state from a Bloch wave to a novel one with spontaneous translational symmetry breaking. We further establish a direct connection of such a transition with a nonlocal phase string en…
The four-site DCA method of including intersite correlations in the dynamical mean field theory is used to investigate the metal-insulator transition in the Hubbard model. At half filling a gap-opening transition is found to occur as the interaction strength is increased beyond a critical value. The gapped behavior found in the 4-site DCA approximation is shown to be associated with the onset of strong antiferromagnetic and singlet correlations and the transition is found to be potential energy driven. It is thus more accurately described as a Slater phenomenon (induced by strong short ranged …
We present the influence of spin correlation on the metal-insulator transitions (MIT) in two-orbital Hubbard models by the Kotliar-Ruckenstein slave-boson approach. In the asymmetric half-filling situation, the two orbits simultaneously transit from conducting to insulating states with the increase of Coulomb correlation, accompanied by a paramagnetic (PM)-antiferromagnetic (AFM) transition. The orbital selective Mott transition found in the PM condition is completely suppressed over a wide correlation range, though it may exist in the systems away from half-filling. In the insulating state, t…
The renormalization group technique is applied to one-dimensional electron-phonon Hubbard models at half-filling and zero temperature. For the Holstein-Hubbard model, the results of one-loop calculations are congruent with the phase diagram obtained by quantum Monte Carlo simulations in the $(U,g_{\rm ph})$ plane for the phonon-mediated interaction $g_{\rm ph}$ and the Coulomb interaction $U$. The incursion of an intermediate phase between a fully gapped charge-density-wave state and a Mott antiferromagnet is supported along with the growth of its size with the molecular phonon frequency $ω_0$…
The pyrochlore lattice involves corner sharing tetrahedra and the resulting geometric frustration is believed to suppress any antiferromagnetic order for Mott insulators on this structure. There are nevertheless short-range correlations which could be vital near the Mott-Hubbard insulator-metal transition. We use a static auxiliary-field-based Monte Carlo to study this problem in real space on reasonably large lattices. The method reduces to unrestricted Hartree-Fock at zero temperature but captures the key magnetic fluctuations at finite temperature. Our results reveal that increasing interac…
We argue that a normal Fermi liquid and a singlet, spin gapped Mott insulator cannot be continuously connected, and that some intermediate phase must intrude between them. By explicitly working out a case study where the singlet insulator is stabilized by orbital degeneracy and an inverted Hund's rule coupling, mimicking a Jahn-Teller effect, we find that the intermediate phase is a superconductor.
Resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) has become an important tool for studying elementary excitations in correlated materials. Here, we present a systematic theoretical investigation of the Cu L-edge RIXS spectra of undoped and doped cuprate two-leg spin-ladders in both the non-spin-conserving (NSC) and spin-conserving (SC) channels. The spectra are rich and host many exotic excitations. In the NSC-channel of the undoped case, we identify one-triplon and bound $\textit{triplet}$ two-triplon excitations in the strong-rung coupling limit, as well as confined spinons in the weak-rung coupli…
Often, exotic phases appear in the phase diagrams between conventional phases. Their elementary excitations are of particular interest. Here, we consider the example of the ionic Hubbard model in one dimension. This model is a band insulator (BI) for weak interaction and a Mott insulator (MI) for strong interaction. Inbetween, a spontaneously dimerized insulator (SDI) occurs which is governed by energetically low-lying charge and spin degrees of freedom. Applying a systematically controlled version of the continuous unitary transformations (CUTs) we are able to determine the dispersions of the…
We present a theoretical approach to describing the Mott transition of electrons on a two dimensional lattice that begins with the low energy effective theory of the Fermi liquid. The approach to the Mott transition must be characterized by the suppression of density and current fluctuations which correspond to specific shape deformations of the Fermi surface. We explore the nature of the Mott insulator and the corresponding Mott transition when these shape fluctuations of the Fermi surface are suppressed without making any a prior assumptions about other Fermi surface shape fluctuations. Buil…
We address the role played by charged defects in doped Mott insulators with active orbital degrees of freedom. It is observed that defects feature a rather complex and rich physics, which is well captured by a degenerate Hubbard model extended by terms that describe crystal-field splittings and orbital-lattice coupling, as well as by terms generated by defects such as the Coulomb potential terms that act both on doped holes and on electrons within occupied orbitals at undoped sites. We show that the multiplet structure of the excited states generated in such systems by strong electron interact…

The one-dimensional SU$(n)$ Hubbard model is investigated numerically for $n=2,3,4$, and 5 at half filling and $1/n$ filling using the density-matrix renormalization-group (DMRG) method. The energy gaps and various quantum information entropies are calculated. In the half-filled case, finite spin and charge gaps are found for arbitrary positive $U$ if $n > 2$. Furthermore, it is shown that the transition to the gapped phase at $U_{\rm c}=0$ is of Kosterlitz-Thouless type and is accompanied by a bond dimerization both for even and odd $n$. In the $1/n$-filled case, the transition has similar fe…
We report a Cu K-edge resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) study of high-Tc cuprates. Momentum-resolved charge excitations in the CuO2 plane are examined from parent Mott insulators to carrier-doped superconductors. The Mott gap excitation in undoped insulators is found to commonly show a larger dispersion along the [pi,pi] direction than the [pi,0] direction. On the other hand, the resonance condition displays material dependence. Upon hole doping, the dispersion of the Mott gap excitation becomes weaker and an intraband excitation appears as a continuum intensity below the gap at the s…
We present a $T=0K$ renormalization group (RG) phase diagram for the electronic Hubbard model in two dimensions on the square lattice at, and away from, half filling. The RG procedure treats quantum fluctuations in the single particle occupation number nonperturbatively via the unitarily decoupling of one electronic state at every RG step. The resulting phase diagram thus possess the quantum fluctuation energy scale ($ω$) as one of its axes. A relation is derived between $ω$ and the effective temperature scale upto which gapless, as well as emergent gapped, phases can be obtained. We find that…
We investigate the behavior of the quasi-particle energy gap near quantum phase transitions in a two-dimensional disordered boson Hubbard model at a commensurate filling. Via Monte Carlo simulations of ensembles with fixed numbers of particles, we observe the behavior of the gap as a function of the tuning parameter for various strength of diagonal disorder. For weak disorder, we find that gapped Mott insulating phase is sustained up to the transition point and disappears only in a superfluid, strongly supporting a direct Mott-insulator-to-superfluid transition. Bose glass behavior, insulating…
We study the quantum dynamics of superfluids of bosons hybridized with Cooper pairs near Feshbach resonances and the influence of fermion-boson conversion on Mott states. We derive a set of equations of motion which describe novel low energy dynamics in superfluids and obtain a new distinct branch of {\em gapped} collective modes in superfluids which involve anti-symmetric phase oscillations in fermionic and bosonic channels. We also find that Mott states in general are unstable with respect to fermion-boson conversion; particles become delocalized and the off-diagonal long-range order of supe…
We investigate the ground state phase diagram of the half-filled $t-t^{\prime}$ repulsive Hubbard model in the presence of a staggered ionic potential $Δ$, using the continuum-limit bosonization approach. We find, that with increasing on-site-repulsion $U$, depending on the value of the next-nearest-hopping amplitude $t^{\prime}$, the model shows three different versions of the ground state phase diagram. For $t^{\prime} < t^{\prime}_{\ast}$, the ground state phase diagram consists of the following three insulating phases: Band-Insulator at $U<U_{c}$, Ferroelectric Insulator at $U_{c} < U < U_…
We use the density matrix renormalization group to study the quantum transitions that occur in the half-filled one-dimensional fermionic Hubbard model with onsite potential disorder. We find a transition from the gapped Mott phase with algebraic spin correlations to a gapless spin-disordered phase beyond a critical strength of the disorder $Δ_c \approx U/2$. Both the transitions in the charge and spin sectors are shown to be coincident. We also establish the finite-size corrections to the charge gap and the spin-spin correlation length in the presence of disorder and using a finite-size-scalin…
We consider a modification of the one-dimensional Hubbard model by including an external pairing potential. Guided by analytic bosonization results, we quantitatively determine the grand-canonical zero-temperature phase diagram using both finite and infinite density matrix renormalization group algorithm based on the formalism of matrix product states and matrix product operator, respectively. By computing various local quantities as well as the half-system entanglement, we are able to distinguish between Mott, metallic and superconducting phases. We point out the compressible nature of the Mo…
We investigate the role of disorder in the Mott-Hubbard transition based on the slave-rotor representation of the Hubbard model, where an electron is decomposed into a fermionic spinon for a spin degree of freedom and a bosonic rotor (chargon) for a charge degree of freedom. In the absence of disorder the Mott-Hubbard insulator is assumed to be the spin liquid Mott insulator in terms of gapless spinons near the Fermi surface and gapped chargons interacting via U(1) gauge fields. We found that the Mott-Hubbard critical point becomes unstable as soon as disorder is turned on. As a result, a diso…
We show exactly that the only charged excitations that exist in the strong-coupling limit of the half-filled Hubbard model are gapped composite excitations generated by the dynamics of the charge $2e$ boson that appears upon explicit integration of the high-energy scale. At every momentum, such excitations have non-zero spectral weight at two distinct energy scales separated by the on-site repulsion $U$. The result is a gap in the spectrum for the composite excitations accompanied by a discontinuous vanishing of the density of states at the chemical potential when $U$ exceeds the bandwidth. Co…
We study the excitation energy for slow changes of the hopping parameter in the Falicov-Kimball model with nonequilibrium dynamical mean-field theory. The excitation energy vanishes algebraically for long ramp times with an exponent that depends on whether the ramp takes place within the metallic phase, within the insulating phase, or across the Mott transition line. For ramps within metallic or insulating phase the exponents are in agreement with a perturbative analysis for small ramps. The perturbative expression quite generally shows that the exponent depends explicitly on the spectrum of t…
We study the Mott insulator-superfluid transition of ultracold bosonic atoms in a two-dimensional square optical lattice in the presence of a synthetic magnetic field with p/q (p and q being co-prime integers) flux quanta passing through each lattice plaquette. We show that on approach to the transition from the Mott side, the momentum distribution of the bosons exhibits q precursor peaks within the first magnetic Brillouin zone. We also provide an effective theory for the transition and show that it involves q interacting boson fields. We construct, from a mean-field analysis of this effectiv…
The ferromagnetic semiconductor Ba2NiOsO6 (Tmag ~100 K) was synthesized at 6 GPa and 1500 °C. It crystallizes into a double perovskite structure [Fm-3m; a = 8.0428(1) Å], where the Ni2+ and Os6+ ions are perfectly ordered at the perovskite B-site. We show that the spin-orbit coupling of Os6+ plays an essential role in opening the charge gap. The magnetic state was investigated by density functional theory calculations and powder neutron diffraction. The latter revealed a collinear ferromagnetic order in a >21 kOe magnetic field at 5 K. The ferromagnetic gapped state is fundamentally different …
High temperature superconductivity in cuprates arises from doping a parent Mott insulator by electrons or holes. A central issue is how the Mott gap evolves and the low-energy states emerge with doping. Here we report angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy measurements on a cuprate parent compound by sequential in situ electron doping. The chemical potential jumps to the bottom of the upper Hubbard band upon a slight electron doping, making it possible to directly visualize the charge transfer band and the full Mott gap region. With increasing doping, the Mott gap rapidly collapses due to t…
The layered metal phosphorous trisulfide FePS$_3$ is reported to be a Mott insulator at ambient conditions and to undergo structural and insulator-metal phase transitions under pressure. However, the character of the resulting metallic states has not been understood clearly so far. Here, we theoretically study the phase transitions of FePS$_3$ using first-principles methods based on density functional theory and embedded dynamical mean field theory. We find that the Mott transition in FePS$_3$ can be orbital-selective, with $t_{2g}$ states undergoing a correlation-induced insulator-to-metal tr…
We show that the Mott transition can be realized in a holographic model of a fermion with bulk mass, $m$, and a dipole interaction of coupling strength $p$. The phase diagram contains gapless, pseudo-gap and gapped phases and the first one can be further divided into four sub-classes. We compare the spectral densities of our holographic model with the Dynamical Mean Field Theory (DMFT) results for Hubbard model as well as the experimental data of Vanadium Oxide materials. Interestingly, single-site and cluster DMFT results of Hubbard model share some similarities with the holographic model of …
In Mott insulators, the strong electron-electron Coulomb repulsion prevents metallicity and charge excitations are gapped. In dimensions greater than one, their spins are usually ordered antiferromagnetically at low temperatures. Geometrical frustrations can destroy this long-range order, leading to exotic quantum spin liquid (QSL) states. However, their magnetic ground states have been a long-standing mystery. Here we show that a QSL state in the organic Mott insulator EtMe$_3$Sb[Pd(dmit)$_2$]$_2$ with two-dimensional triangular lattice has Pauli-paramagnetic-like low-energy excitations, whic…
There exist experiments indicating that at certain conditions, such as an appropriate substrate, a gap of the order of 10 meV can be opened at the Dirac points of a quasiparticle spectrum of graphene. We demonstrate that the opening of such a gap can result in the appearance of a fingerprint bump of the Seebeck signal when the chemical potential approaches the gap edge. The magnitude of the bump can be up to one order higher than the already large value of the thermopower occurring in graphene. Such a giant effect, accompanied by the nonmonotonous dependence on the chemical potential, is relat…
The Bose-Hubbard model subjected to an effective magnetic field hosts a plethora of phases with different topological orders when tuning the chemical potential. Using the density matrix renormalization group method, we identify several gapped phases near the first Mott lobe at strong interactions. They are connected by a particle-hole symmetry to a variety of quantum Hall states stabilized at low fillings. We characterize phases of both particle and hole type and identify signatures compatible with Laughlin, Moore-Read, and Bosonic Integer Quantum Hall states by calculating the quantized Hall …
The ground states and excitations of two-dimensional insulating and doped Mott insulators are described by a bond operator formalism. While the method represents the degrees of freedom of an arbitrary antiferromagnet exactly, it is especially suited to systems in which there is a natural pairing of sites into bonds, as in states with spontaneous or explicit spin-Peierls order (or bond-centered charge order). In the undoped insulator, as discussed previously, we obtain both paramagnetic and magnetically-ordered states. We describe the evolution of superconducting order in the ground state with …
The interplay between charge and spin degrees of freedom in strongly correlated fermionic systems, in particular of Dirac fermions, is a long-standing problem in condensed matter physics. We investigate the competing orders in the half-filled SU(2N) Hubbard model on a honeycomb lattice, which can be accurately realized in optical lattices with large-spin ultra-cold alkaline-earth fermions. Employing large-scale projector determinant quantum Monte Carlo simulations, we have explored quantum phase transitions from the gapless Dirac semi-metals to the gapped Mott-insulating phases in the SU(4) an…

We perform a time-resolved optical study of Sr$_2$IrO$_4$ to understand the influence of magnetic ordering on the low energy electronic structure of a strongly spin-orbit coupled $J_{eff}$=1/2 Mott insulator. By studying the recovery dynamics of photo-carriers excited across the Mott gap, we find that upon cooling through the Néel temperature $T_N$ the system evolves continuously from a metal-like phase with fast ($\sim$50 fs) and excitation density independent relaxation dynamics to a gapped phase characterized by slower ($\sim$500 fs) excitation density dependent bimolecular recombination dy…
Double-perovskite oxides that contain both 3d and 5d transition metal elements have attracted growing interest as they provide a model system to study the interplay of strong electron interaction and large spin-orbit coupling (SOC). Here, we report on experimental and theoretical studies of the magnetic and electronic properties of double-perovskites (La$_{1-x}$Sr$_x$)$_2$CuIrO$_6$ ($x$ = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3). The undoped La$_2$CuIrO$_6$ undergoes a magnetic phase transition from paramagnetism to antiferromagnetism at T$_N$ $\sim$ 74 K and exhibits a weak ferromagnetic behavior below $T_C$ …
Spectral properties of the Bose-Hubbard model and a recently proposed coupled-cavity model are studied by means of quantum Monte Carlo simulations in one dimension. Both models exhibit a quantum phase transition from a Mott insulator to a superfluid phase. The dynamic structure factor $S(k,ω)$ and the single-particle spectrum $A(k,ω)$ are calculated, focusing on the parameter region around the phase transition from the Mott insulator with density one to the superfluid phase, where correlations are important. The strongly interacting nature of the superfluid phase manifests itself in terms of a…
