Exact bound state solutions and the corresponding wave functions of the Schrödinger equation for some non-central potentials including Makarov potential, modified-Kratzer plus a ring-shaped potential, double ring-shaped Kratzer potential, modified non-central potential and ring-shaped non-spherical oscillator potential are obtained by using the Laplace transform approach. The energy spectrums of the Hartmann potential, modified-Kratzer potential and ring-shaped oscillator potential are also briefly studied as special cases. It is seen that our analytical results for all these potentials are consistent with those obtained by other works. We also give some numerical results obtained for the modified non-central potential for different values of the related quantum numbers.
The one-dimensional quantum harmonic oscillator problem is examined via the Laplace transform method. The stationary states are determined by requiring definite parity and good behaviour of the eigenfunction at the origin and at infinity.
The problem of bound states in a double delta potential is revisited by means of Laplace transform method. Quite differently from direct methods, no knowledge about the jump discontinuity of the first derivative of the eigenfunction is required to determine the solution.
It is shown that analytically soluble bound states of the Schrödinger equation for a large class of systems relevant to atomic and molecular physics can be obtained by means of the Laplace transform of the confluent hypergeometric equation. It is also shown that all closed-form eigenfunctions are expressed in terms of generalized Laguerre polynomials. The generalized Morse potential is used as an illustration.
The line Laplace transforms is applied to the Morse potential. The wavefunctions and the energy levels through suitable path of integration are derived.
In the quantum frame, for 3-dimensional space, in the two body problem case, we approach the Schrödinger equation (SE) taking in account the potential: Vq(r)=Dr^2+(A/r)+(B/r^2) called by us quasi-harmonic potential with the centrifugal type term, with D,A,B >0 and D<<1. We use Laplace transform method (LTM) and we find for the first time an analytic solution of the Vq-potential problem. Namely, using directly and inverse Laplace transformations, we obtain the complete forms of the energy eigenvalues and wave functions. Furthermore, for this potential Vq, we make considerations about critical o…
We introduce here the q-Laplace transform as a new weapon in Tsallis' arsenal, discussing its main properties and analyzing some examples. The q-Gaussian instance receives special consideration. Also, we derive the q-partition function from the q-Laplace transform.
This paper uses the convolution theorem of the Laplace transform to derive new inverse Laplace transforms for the product of two parabolic cylinder functions in which the arguments may have opposite sign. These transforms are subsequently specialized for products of the error function and its complement thereby yielding new integral representations for products of the latter two functions. The transforms that are derived in this paper also allow to correct two inverse Laplace transforms that are widely reported in the literature and subsequently uses one of the corrected expressions to obtain …
The Laplace transforms of the transition probability density and distribution functions for the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process contain the product of two parabolic cylinder functions, namely D_{v}(x)D_{v}(y) and D_{v}(x)D_{v-1}(y), respectively. The inverse transforms of these products have as yet not been documented. However, the transition density and distribution functions can be obtained by alternatively applying Doob's transform to the Kolmogorov equation and casting the problem in terms of Brownian motion. Linking the resulting transition density and distribution functions to their Laplace t…
We give a formula that represents magnetic Berezin transforms associated with generalized Bergman spaces as functions of the Laplace-Beltrami operator on the Bergman ball. In particular, we recover the result obtained by J. Peeter [J. Oper. Theory, 24, 1990].
We provide a simple analytic formula in terms of elementary functions for the Laplace transform j_{l}(p) of the spherical Bessel function than that appearing in the literature, and we show that any such integral transform is a polynomial of order l in the variable p with constant coefficients for the first l-1 powers, and with an inverse tangent function of argument 1/p as the coefficient of the power l. We apply this formula for the Laplace transform of the memory function related to the Langevin equation in a one-dimensional Debye model.
A class of Laplace transforms is examined to show that particular cases of this class are associated with production-destruction and reaction-diffusion problems in physics, study of differences of independently distributed random variables and the concept of Laplacianness in statistics, alpha-Laplace and Mittag-Leffler stochastic processes, the concepts of infinite divisibility and geometric infinite divisibility problems in probability theory and certain fractional integrals and fractional derivatives. A number of applications are pointed out with special reference to solutions of fractional …
We study trace functions on the form $ t\to\tr f(A+tB) $ where $ f $ is a real function defined on the positive half-line, and $ A $ and $ B $ are matrices such that $ A $ is positive definite and $ B $ is positive semi-definite. If $ f $ is non-negative and operator monotone decreasing, then such a trace function can be written as the Laplace transform of a positive measure. The question is related to the Bessis-Moussa-Villani conjecture. Key words: Trace functions, BMV-conjecture.
We calculate the Laplace transform of the cut-and-join equation of Goulden, Jackson and Vakil. The result is a polynomial equation that has the topological structure identical to the Mirzakhani recursion formula for the Weil-Petersson volume of the moduli space of bordered hyperbolic surfaces. We find that the direct image of this Laplace transformed equation via the inverse of the Lambert W-function is the topological recursion formula for Hurwitz numbers conjectured by Bouchard and Marino using topological string theory.
In this paper we study the Fourier-Laplace transform of tempered ultrahyperfunctions introduced by Sebastião e Silva and Hasumi. We establish a generalization of Paley-Wiener-Schwartz theorem for this setting. This theorem is interesting in connection with the microlocal analysis. For this reason, the paper also contains a description of the singularity structure of tempered ultrahyperfunctions in terms of the concept of analytic wave front set.
Inverse Laplace transform on the lattice spacing is introduced as a computational framework of the extrapolation of the strong coupling expansion to the scaling region. We apply the transform to the two-dimensional non-linear O(N) model at N>=3 and show that the approximation of the continuum limit of the susceptibility agrees with the existing theoretical and Monte Carlo data.
Using a special case of the Efros theorem which was derived by Wlodarski, and operational calculus, it was possible to derive many infinite integrals, finite integrals and integral identities for the function represented by the inverse Laplace transform. The integral identities are mainly in terms of convolution integrals with the Mittag-Leffler and Volterra functions. The integrands of determined integrals include elementary functions (power, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric and hyperbolic functions) and the error functions, the Mittag-Leffler functions and the Volterra functions. Some…
This paper derives the non-analytic solution to the Fokker-Planck equation of fractional Brownian motion using the method of Laplace transform. Sequentially, by considering the fundamental solution of the non-analytic solution, this paper obtains the transition probability density function of the random variable that is described by the Itô's stochastic ordinary differential equation of fractional Brownian motion. Furthermore, this paper applies the derived transition probability density function to the Cox-Ingersoll-Ross model governed by the fractional Brownian motion instead of the usual Br…
