We study the global boundedness of bilinear and multilinear Fourier integral operators on Banach and quasi-Banach $L^p$ spaces, where the amplitudes of the operators are smooth or rough in the spatial variables. The results are obtained by proving suitable global boundedness of rough linear Fourier integral operators with amplitudes that behave as $L^{p}$ functions in the spatial variables. The bilinear and multilinear boundedness estimates are proven by using either an iteration procedure or decomposition of the amplitudes, and thereafter applying our global results for linear Fourier integral operators with rough amplitudes.
We study the boundedness of rough Fourier integral and pseudodifferential operators, defined by general rough Hörmander class amplitudes, on Banach and quasi-Banach $L^p$ spaces. Thereafter we apply the aforementioned boundedness in order to improve on some of the existing boundedness results for Hörmander class bilinear pseudodifferential operators and certain classes of bilinear (as well as multilinear) Fourier integral operators. For these classes of amplitudes, the boundedness of the aforementioned Fourier integral operators turn out to be sharp. Furthermore we also obtain results for roug…
In this article we prove weighted norm inequalities and pointwise estimates between the multilinear fractional integral operator and the multilinear fractional maximal. As a consequence of these estimations we obtain weighted weak and strong inequalities for the multilinear fractional integral operator. In particular, we extend some results given in \cite{CPSS} to the multilinear context. On the other hand we prove weighted pointwise estimates between the multilinear fractional maximal operator ${\cal M}_{α,B}$ associated to a Young function $B$ and the multilinear maximal operators ${\cal M}_…
We establish global regularity of multilinear Fourier integral operators that are associated to nonlinear wave equations on product of $L^p$ spaces by proving endpoint boundedness on suitable products spaces containing combinations of the local Hardy space, the local BMO and the $L^2$ spaces.
We establish the boundedness of the multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators from a product of weighted Hardy spaces into a weighted Hardy or Lebesgue space. Our results generalize to the weighted setting results obtained by Grafakos and Kalton (Collect. Math. 2001) and recent work by the third author, Grafakos, Nakamura, and Sawano. As part of our proof we provide a finite atomic decomposition theorem for weighted Hardy spaces, which is interesting in its own right. As a consequence of our weighted results, we prove the corresponding estimates on variable Hardy spaces. Our main tool is a multil…
In this article, we begin a systematic study of the boundedness and the nuclearity properties of multilinear periodic pseudo-differential operators and multilinear discrete pseudo-differential operators on $L^p$-spaces. First, we prove analogues of known multilinear Fourier multipliers theorems (proved by Coifman and Meyer, Grafakos, Tomita, Torres, Kenig, Stein, Fujita, Tao, etc.) in the context of periodic and discrete multilinear pseudo-differential operators. For this, we use the periodic analysis of pseudo-differential operators developed by Ruzhansky and Turunen. Later, we investigate th…
The aim of this paper is to get the boundedness of certain multi-sublinear operators generated by multilinear fractional integral operators on the product generalized local Morrey spaces under generic size conditions which are satisfied by most of the operators in harmonic analysis. We also prove that the commutators of multilinear operators generated by local campanato functions and multilinear fractional integral operators are also bounded on the product generalized local Morrey spaces.
In this paper, we investigated the boundedness of multilinear fractional strong maximal operator $\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{R},α}$ associated with rectangles or related to more general basis with multiple weights $A_{(\vec{p},q),\mathcal{R}}$. In the rectangles setting, we first gave an end-point estimate of $\mathcal{M}_{\mathcal{R},α}$, which not only extended the famous linear result of Jessen, Marcinkiewicz and Zygmund, but also extended the multilinear result of Grafakos, Liu, Pérez and Torres ($α=0$) to the case $0<α<mn.$ Then, in one weight case, we gave several equivalent characterizations…
We provide characterizations for boundedness of multilinear Fourier operators on Hardy-Lebesgue spaces with symbols locally in Sobolev spaces. Let $H^q(\mathbb R^n)$ denote the Hardy space when $0<q\le 1$ and the Lebesgue space $L^q(\mathbb R^n)$ when $1<q\le \infty$. We find optimal conditions on $m$-linear Fourier multiplier operators to be bounded from $H^{p_1}\times \cdots \times H^{p_m}$ to $L^p$ when $1/p=1/p_1+\cdots +1/p_m$ in terms of local $L^2$-Sobolev space estimates for the symbol of the operator. Our conditions provide multilinear analogues of the linear results of Calderón and T…
We find optimal conditions on $m$-linear Fourier multipliers to give rise to bounded operators from a product of Hardy spaces $H^{p_j}$, $0<p_j\le 1$, to Lebesgue spaces $L^p$. The conditions we obtain are necessary and sufficient for boundedness and are expressed in terms of $L^2$-based Sobolev spaces. Our results extend those obtained in the linear case ($m=1 $) by Calderón and Torchinsky [http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0001870877800169] and in the bilinear case ($m=2$) by Miyachi and Tomita [http://www.ems-ph.org/journals/show_abstract.php?issn=0213-2230&vol=29&iss=2&rank…
We prove the global $L^2 \times L^2 \to L^1$ boundedness of bilinear Fourier integral operators with amplitudes in $S^0_{1,0} (n,2)$. To achieve this, we require that the phase function can be written as $(x,ξ,η) \mapsto \phase_1(x,ξ) + \phase_2(x,η)$ where each $\phase_j$ belongs to the class $Φ^2$ and satisfies the strong non-degeneracy condition. This result extends that of R. Coifman and Y. Meyer regarding pseudodifferential operators to the case of Fourier integral operators.
In this paper we study the $L^p$-$L^q$ boundedness of the Fourier multipliers in the setting where the underlying Fourier analysis is introduced with respect to the eigenfunctions of an anharmonic oscillator $A$. Using the notion of a global symbol that arises from this analysis, we extend a version of the Hausdorff-Young-Paley inequality that guarantees the $L^p$-$L^q$ boundedness of these operators for the range $1<p \leq 2 \leq q <\infty$. The boundedness results for spectral multipliers acquired, yield as particular cases Sobolev embedding theorems and time asymptotics for the $L^p$-$L^q$ …
In this article, we investigate the multilinear distorted multiplier estimate (Coifman-Meyer type theorem) associated with the Schrödinger operator $H=-Δ+ V$ in the framework of the corresponding distorted Fourier transform. Our result is the "distorted" analog of the multilinear Coifman-Meyer multiplier operator theorem in \cite{CM1}, which extends the bilinear estimates of Germain, Hani and Walsh's in \cite{PZS} to the multilinear case for all dimensions. As applications, we give the estimate of Leibniz's law of integer order derivations for the multilinear distorted multiplier for the first…
We study the action of Fourier Integral Operators (FIOs) of H{ö}rmander's type on ${\mathcal{F}} L^p({\mathbb {R}}^d_{comp}$, $1\leq p\leq\infty$. We see, from the Beurling-Helson theorem, that generally FIOs of order zero fail to be bounded on these spaces when $p\not=2$, the counterexample being given by any smooth non-linear change of variable. Here we show that FIOs of order $m=-d|1/2-1/p|$ are instead bounded. Moreover, this loss of derivatives is proved to be sharp in every dimension $d\geq1$, even for phases which are linear in the dual variables. The proofs make use of tools from time-…
The $(k,a)$-generalised Fourier transform is the unitary operator defined using the $a$-deformed Dunkl harmonic oscillator. The main aim of this paper is to prove $L^p$-$L^q$ boundedness of $(k, a)$-generalised Fourier multipliers. To show the boundedness we first establish Paley inequality and Hausdorff-Young-Paley inequality for $(k, a)$-generalised Fourier transform. We also demonstrate applications of obtained results to study the well-posedness of nonlinear partial differential equations.
We give a criterion for the global boundedness of integral operators which are known to be locally bounded. As an application, we discuss the global $L^p$-boundedness for a class of Fourier integral operators. While the local $L^p$-boundedness of Fourier integral operators is known from the work of Seeger, Sogge and Stein, not so many results are available for the global boundedness on $L^p({\mathbb R}^n)$. We give several natural sufficient conditions for them.
In this note we study the $L^p-L^q$ boundedness of Fourier multipliers of anharmonic oscillators, and as a consequence also of spectral multipliers, for the range $1<p \leq 2 \leq q <\infty$. The underlying Fourier analysis is associated with the eigenfunctions of an anharmonic oscillator in some family of differential operators having derivatives of any order. Our analysis relies on a version of the classical Paley-type inequality, introduced by Hörmander, that we extend in our nonharmonic setting.
We completely characterize the boundedness on $L^p$ spaces and on Wiener amalgam spaces of the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) and of a special class of pseudodifferential operators, called localization operators. Precisely, a well-known STFT boundedness result on $L^p$ spaces is proved to be sharp. Then, sufficient conditions for the STFT to be bounded on the Wiener amalgam spaces $W(L^p,L^q)$ are given and their sharpness is shown. Localization operators are treated similarly. Using different techniques from those employed in the literature, we relax the known sufficient boundedness cond…
The local $L^2$-mapping property of Fourier integral operators has been established in Hörmander \cite{H} and in Eskin \cite{E}. In this paper, we treat the global $L^2$-boundedness for a class of operators that appears naturally in many problems. As a consequence, we will improve known global results for several classes of pseudo-differential and Fourier integral operators, as well as extend previous results of Asada and Fujiwara \cite{AF} or Kumano-go \cite{Ku}. As an application, we show a global smoothing estimate to generalized Schrödinger equations which extends the results of Ben-Artzi …
We carry on the study of Fourier integral operators of H{ö}rmander's type acting on the spaces $(\mathcal{F}L^p)_{comp}$, $1\leq p\leq\infty$, of compactly supported distributions whose Fourier transform is in $L^p$. We show that the sharp loss of derivatives for such an operator to be bounded on these spaces is related to the rank $r$ of the Hessian of the phase $Φ(x,η)$ with respect to the space variables $x$. Indeed, we show that operators of order $m=-r|1/2-1/p|$ are bounded on $(\mathcal{F}L^p)_{comp}$, if the mapping $x\longmapsto\nabla_xΦ(x,η)$ is constant on the fibers, of codimension …
We consider a class of Fourier integral operators, globally defined on $\mathbb{R}^{d}$, with symbols and phases satisfying product type estimates (the so-called $SG$ or scattering classes). We prove a sharp continuity result for such operators when acting on the modulation spaces $M^p$. The minimal loss of derivatives is shown to be $d|1/2-1/p|$. This global perspective produces a loss of decay as well, given by the same order. Strictly related, striking examples of unboundedness on $L^p$ spaces are presented.
While the local $L^p$-boundedness of nondegeneral Fourier integral operators is known from the work of Seeger, Sogge and Stein, not so many results are available for the global boundedness on $L^p(\mathbb R^n)$. In this paper we give a sufficient condition for the global $L^p$-boundedness for a class of Fourier integral operators which includes many natural examples. We also describe a construction that can be used to deduce global results from the local ones. An application is given to obtain global $L^p$-estimates for solutions to Cauchy problems for hyperbolic partial differential equations…
In this paper, we will investigate the boundedness of the bi-parameter Fourier integral operators (or FIOs for short) of the following form: $$T(f)(x)=\frac{1}{(2π)^{2n}}\int_{\mathbb{R}^{2n}}e^{iφ(x,ξ,η)}\cdot a(x,ξ,η)\cdot\widehat{f}(ξ,η)dξdη,$$ where for $x=(x_1,x_2)\in \mathbb{R}^{n}\times \mathbb{R}^{n}$ and $ξ,η\in \mathbb{R}^{n}\setminus\{0\}$, the amplitude $a(x,ξ,η)\in L^\infty BS^m_ρ$ and the phase function is of the form $ φ(x,ξ,η)=φ_1(x_1,ξ)+φ_2(x_2,η)$ with $\quad φ_1,φ_2 \in L^\infty Φ^2 (\mathbb{R}^{n}\times\mathbb{R}^{n}\setminus\{0\})$ and $φ(x, ξ, η)$ satisfies a certain roug…
We define a scale of Hardy spaces $\mathcal{H}^{p}_{FIO}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$, $p\in[1,\infty]$, that are invariant under suitable Fourier integral operators of order zero. This builds on work by Smith for $p=1$. We also introduce a notion of off-singularity decay for kernels on the cosphere bundle of $\mathbb{R}^{n}$, and we combine this with wave packet transforms and tent spaces over the cosphere bundle to develop a full Hardy space theory for oscillatory integral operators. In the process we extend the known results about $L^{p}$-boundedness of Fourier integral operators, from local boundednes…
This paper considers the question of global in time existence and asymptotic behavior of small-data solutions of nonlinear dispersive equations with a real potential $V$. The main concern is treating nonlinearities whose degree is low enough as to preclude the simple use of classical energy methods and decay estimates. In their place, we present a systematic approach that adapts the space-time resonance method to the non-Euclidean setting using the spectral theory of the Schroedinger operator $-Δ+V$. We start by developing tools of independent interest, namely multilinear analysis (Coifman-Mey…
Let $X$ and $Y$ be two smooth manifolds of the same dimension. It was proved by Seeger, Sogge and Stein in \cite{SSS} that the Fourier integral operators with real non-degenerate phase functions in the class $I^μ_1(X,Y;Λ),$ $μ\leq -(n-1)/2,$ are bounded from $H^1$ to $L^1.$ The sharpness of the order $-(n-1)/2,$ for any elliptic operator was also proved in \cite{SSS} and extended to other types of canonical relations in \cite{Ruzhansky1999}. That the operators in the class $I^μ_1(X,Y;Λ),$ $μ\leq -(n-1)/2,$ satisfy the weak (1,1) inequality was proved by Tao \cite{Tao:weak11}. In this note, we …
