Generalizing the group structure of the Euclidean space, we construct a Riemannian metric on the deformed set \ $\mathbb{R}^n_q$ \ induced by the Tsallis entropy composition property. We show that the Tsallis entropy is a "hyperbolic analogue" of the "Euclidean" Boltzmann/Gibbs/Shannon entropy and find a geometric interpretation for the nonextensive parameter $q$. We provide a geometric explanation of the uniqueness of the Tsallis entropy as reflected through its composition property, which is provided by the Abe and the Santos axioms. For two, or more, interacting systems described by the Tsallis entropy, having different values of $q$, we argue why a suitable extension of this construction is provided by the Cartan/Alexandrov/Toponogov metric spaces with a uniform negative curvature upper bound.
We develop variational representations for the deformed logarithmic and exponential functions and use them to obtain variational representations related to the quantum Tsallis relative entropy. We extend Golden-Thompson's trace inequality to deformed exponentials with deformation parameter $ q\in[0,1], $ thus complementing the second author's previous study of the cases with deformation parameter $ q \in [1,2] $ or $ q \in [2,3]. $
We provide an upper bound on the maximal entropy rate at which the entropy of the expected density operator of a given ensemble of two states changes under nonlocal unitary evolution. A large class of entropy measures in considered, which includes Renyi and Tsallis entropies. The result is derived from a general bound on the trace-norm of a commutator, which can be expected to find other implementations. We apply this result to bound the maximal rate at which quantum dynamics can generate entanglement in a bipartite closed system with Renyi and Tsallis entanglement entropy taken as measures of…
Several ways have been proposed in the literature to define a coherence measure based on Tsallis relative entropy. One of them is defined as a distance between a state and a set of incoherent states with Tsallis relative entropy taken as a distance measure. Unfortunately, this measure does not satisfy the required strong monotonicity, but a modification of this coherence has been proposed that does. We introduce three new Tsallis coherence measures coming from a more general definition that also satisfy the strong monotonicity, and compare all five definitions between each other. Using three c…
Recent mathematical investigations have shown that under very general conditions exponential mixing implies the Bernoulli property. As a concrete example of a statistical mechanics which is exponentially mixing we consider a Bernoulli shift dynamics by Chebyshev maps of arbitrary order $N\geq 2$, which maximizes Tsallis $q=3$ entropy rather than the ordinary $q=1$ Boltzmann-Gibbs entropy. Such an information shift dynamics may be relevant in a pre-universe before ordinary space-time is created. We discuss symmetry properties of the coupled Chebyshev systems, which are different for even and od…
