We present results for B-meson decay modes involving a charm meson, protons, and pions using 455 x 10^6 BBbar pairs recorded by the BaBar detector at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider. The branching fractions are measured for the following ten decays: B0bar to D0 p pbar, B0bar to D*0 p pbar, B0bar to D+ p pbar pi-, B0bar to D*+ p pbar pi-, B- to D0 p pbar pi-, B- to D*0 p pbar pi-, B0bar to D0 p pbar pi- pi+, B0bar to D*0 p pbar pi- pi+, B- to D+ p pbar pi- pi-, and B- to D*+ p pbar pi- pi-, The four B- and the two five-body B0bar modes are observed for the first time. The four-body modes are enhanced compared to the three- and the five-body modes. In the three-body modes, the M(p pbar) and M(D(*)0 p) invariant mass distributions show enhancements near threshold values. In the four-body mode B0bar to D+ p pbar pi-, the M(p pi-) distribution shows a narrow structure of unknown origin near 1.5 GeV/c^2. The distributions for the five-body modes, in contrast to the others, are similar to the expectations from uniform phase-space predictions.
We present a study of ten B-meson decays to a D(*), a proton-antiproton pair, and a system of up to two pions using BaBar's data set of 455x10^6 BBbar pairs. Four of the modes (B0bar -> D0 p anti-p, B0bar -> D*0 p anti-p, B0bar -> D+ p anti-p pi-, B0bar -> D*+ p anti-p pi-) are studied with improved statistics compared to previous measurements; six of the modes (B- -> D0 p anti-p pi-, B- -> D*0 p anti-p pi-, B0bar -> D0 p anti-p pi- pi+, B0bar -> D*0 p anti-p pi- pi+, B- -> D+ p anti-p pi- pi-, B- -> D*+ p anti-p pi- pi-) are first observations. The branching fractions for 3- and 5-body decays…
Observation of B+ -> p pbar pi+, B0 -> p pbar K0, and B+ -> p pbar K*+
We report the first observation of a b -> u type charmless baryonic B decay, B+ -> p pbar pi+, as well as b -> s type B0 -> p pbar K0 and B+ -> p pbar K*+ decays. The analysis is based on a 78fb^{-1} data sample recorded on the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at KEKB. We find BF(B+ -> p pbar pi+) = (3.06^{+0.73}_{-0.62} \pm 0.37)*10^{-6}, BF(B0 -> p pbar K0) =(1.88^{+0.77}_{-0.60} \pm 0.23)*10^{-6}, and BF(B+ -> p pbar K*+) = (10.3^{+3.6 + 1.3}_{-2.8 -1.7})*10^{-6}. We also update BF(B+ -> p pbar K+) = (5.66^{+0.67}_{-0.57} \pm 0.62)* 10^{-6}, and present an upper limit on BF(B0 …
Observation of Bs->K+K- and Measurements of Branching Fractions of Charmless Two-body Decays of B0 and Bs Mesons in p-pbar Collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV
We measure the inclusive single muon charge asymmetry and the like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry in $p \bar{p}$ collisions using the full data set of 10.4 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The standard model predictions of the charge asymmetries induced by CP violation are small in magnitude compared to the current experimental precision, so non-zero measurements could indicate new sources of CP violation. The measurements differ from the standard model predictions of CP violation in these asymmetries with a significance of 3.6 standard deviations. These results…
Using a sample of $1.06\times10^8$ $ψ^\prime$ mesons collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII $e^+e^-$ collider and $χ_{cJ}$ mesons produced via radiative transitions from the $ψ^\prime$, we report the first observation for $ψ^\prime\to \bar{p}K^+Σ^0 +c.c.$ (charge-conjugate), as well as improved measurements for the $χ_{cJ}$ hyperon decays $χ_{cJ}\to\bar{p}K^+Λ+c.c.$. The branching fractions are measured to be $\mathcal{B}(ψ^\prime\to \bar{p}K^+Σ^0+c.c)= (1.67\pm0.13\pm0.12)\times10^{-5}$, $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c0}\to\bar{p}K^+Λ+c.c.)= (13.2\pm0.3\pm1.0)\times10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c1}\t…
Search for B->pbar e nuebar X Decay using a Partial Reconstruction Method
利用在康奈尔电子储存环上的CLEO探测器收集到的Upperion(4S)共振和附近连续谱的数据,我们研究了B介子到包含电子-反质子的末态的半轻子衰变。我们得到了B(B ^--> pbar e nuebar X)u衰变的一个上限<5.9e-4. For the b->,发现B(B^- -> pbar e nuebar)的一个上限< 5.2e-3.所有上限均在90%置信水平下测量。
Recent results obtained using the data sample collected on the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e^+ e^- collider and the Babar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e^+ e^- collider are discussed. Measurements of several charmless and charmed baryonic B decay branching fractions are reported, and some behaviors and mechanisms are discussed.
We present results of femtoscopic analysis with K0s-K0s, Kch-Kch, p-p, pbar-pbar, p-pbar and lambda-antilambda in Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt{s_NN}=2.76 TeV and K0s-K0s in pp collisions at sqrt{s}=7 TeV registered by ALICE at the LHC. The femtoscopic radius is extracted from the one-dimensional correlation functions. The analysis reveals that the emission source sizes of pions, kaons and protons measured in heavy-ion collisions exhibit approximate transverse mass scaling which is consistent with hydrodynamic collectivity prediction. Furthermore, baryon-antibaryon correlations are investigated to …
New Crystal Barrel data are reported for pbar-p -> omega-eta and pbar-p -> omega-pizero-pizero with omega decaying to piplus-piminus-pizero. The omega-eta data confirm angular distributions obtained earlier from data where omega -> pizero-gamma. The new omega-eta data provide accurate measurements of vector and tensor polarisations of the omega and lead to considerable improvements in masses and widths of s-channel resonances. A new J^PC = 3^+- I = 0 resonance is observed with mass M = 2025+-20 MeV and width Gamma = 145+-30 MeV. Polarisation is close to zero everywhere and tensor polarisations…
A measurement of transverse polarisation in pbar-p -> all-neutral final states would almost certainly determine a complete set of partial wave amplitudes over the mass range 1910 to 2410 MeV. This should identify all resonances in this mass range. The experiment is technically straightforward and cheap by present standards.
We have observed the reactions p+pbar --> p+X+pbar, with X being a centrally produced J/psi, psi(2S) or chi_c0, and gamma+gamma --> mu+mu-, in proton- antiproton collisions at sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV using the Run II Collider Detector at Fermilab. The event signature requires two oppositely charged muons, each with pseudorapidity |eta| < 0.6, with M(mumu) in [3.0,4.0] GeV/c2, and either no other particles, or one additional photon, detected. The J/psi and the psi(2S) are prominent, on a continuum consistent with the QED process gamma+gamma --> mu+mu-. Events with a J/psi and an associated photon ca…
We report on a study of the relative rates of B meson decays into psi(2S) and J/psi mesons using 1.3 fb^-1 of pbar p collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV recorded by the D0 detector operating at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We observe the channels B^0_s -> psi(2S)phi, B^0_s -> J/psi phi, B^+/- -> psi(2S) K^+/-, and B^+/- -> J/psi K^+/- and we measure the relative branching fractions for these channels to be B(B^0_s -> psi(2S)phi)/B(B^0_s -> J/psi phi) = 0.55 +/- 0.11 (stat) +/- 0.07 (syst) +/- 0.06 (B), B(B^+/- -> psi(2S) K^+/-)/B(B^+/- -> J/psi K^+/-) = 0.65 +/- 0.04 (stat) +/- 0.03 (syst) +/-…
Evidence is presented for the baryonic $B$ meson decay $\bar{B}\rightarrow D^0 Λ\barΛ$ based on a data sample of $471 \times 10^6$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected with the {\it BABAR} detector at the PEP2 asymmetric $e^+e^-$ collider located at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. The branching fraction is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(\bar{B}\rightarrow D^0 Λ\barΛ) = (9.8^{+2.9}_{-2.6} \pm 1.9)\times 10^{-6}$, corresponding to a significance of $3.4$ standard deviations including systematic uncertainties. A search for the related baryonic $B$ meson decay $\bar{B}\rightarrow D^0 Σ^0 \barΛ$ wit…
A combined fit is presented to data on pbar-p annihilation in flight to final states eta-pizero-pizero, pizero-pizero, eta-eta, eta-etaprime and piminus-piplus. The emphasis lies in improving an earlier study of eta-pizero-pizero by fitting data at nine pbar momenta simultaneously and with parameters consistent with the two-body channels. There is evidence for all of the I=0, C=+ q-qbar states expected in this mass range. New resonances are reported with masses and widths M,Gamma as follows: JPC = 4^{-+} (2328+-38, Gamma=240+-90) MeV, 1^{++} (1971+-15, 240+-45) MeV, 0^{-+} (2285+-20, 325+-30) …
We report on recent $BABAR$ analyses of the baryonic $B$ decays $\bar{B}^{0}\toΛ_{\rm c}^{+}\bar{p}π^{+}π^{-}$, $B^{-}\toΣ_{\rm c}^{++}\bar{p}π^{-}π^{-}$, $\bar{B}^{0}\toΛ_{\rm c}^{+}\bar{p}p\bar{p}$ and $\bar{B}^{0}\to D^{0}Λ\barΛ$. The used data sample contains $471\times10^{6}\,B\bar{B}$ pairs that were generated in the process $e^{+}e^{-}\toΥ(4S)\to B\bar{B}$ and collected with the $BABAR$ detector at the PEP-II storage ring at SLAC. We find ${\cal B}(\bar{B}^{0}\toΛ_{\rm c}^{+}\bar{p}π^{+}π^{-}) = (12.3\pm0.5_{\rm stat}\pm0.7_{\rm syst}\pm3.2_{\rmΛ_{\rm c}})\times10^{-3}$, ${\cal B}(B^{-}…
We study B- meson decays to pbar Lambda D(*)0 final states using a sample of 657 * 10^6 B Bbar events collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider. The observed branching fraction for B- to pbar Lambda D0 is (1.43^ +0.28_-0.25 +- 0.18)*10^-5. with a significance of 8.1 standard deviations, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Most of the signal events have the pbarLambda mass peaking near threshold. No significant signal is observed for B- to pbar Lambda D*0 and the corresponding upper limit on the …
We review the two and three-body baryonic $B$ decays with the dibaryon (${\bf B\bar B'}$) as the final states. Accordingly, we summarize the experimental data of the branching fractions, angular asymmetries, and $CP$ asymmetries. Using the $W$-boson annihilation (exchange) mechanism, the branching fractions of $B\to {\bf B \bf \bar B'}$ are shown to be interpretable. In the approach of perturbative QCD counting rules, we study the three-body decay channels. In particular, we review the $CP$ asymmetries of $B\to {\bf B\bar B'}M$, which are promising to be measured by the LHCb and Belle~II exper…
New Crystal Barrel data are reported for pbar-p -> omega-pizero and pbar-p -> omega eta-pizero with omega decaying to piplus-piminus-pizero. The shapes of angular distributions agree well with those for data where omega -> pizero-gamma; this is a valuable cross-check on systematic errors. The new data provide good measurements of vector and tensor polarisations P_y, T20, T21 and T22 of the omega. These lead to significant improvements in parameters of several resonances reported earlier. New values of masses and widths (in Mev) are: J^PC = 5^-- (2300+-45, 260+-75), J^PC = 3^-- (2260+-20, 160+-…
We find evidence for the semileptonic baryonic decay $B^-\to p\bar p\ell^-\barν_\ell$ ($\ell=e,μ$), based on a data sample of 772 million $B\bar B$ pairs collected at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy electron-positron collider. A neural-network based hadronic $B$-meson tagging method is used in this study. The branching fraction of $B^-\to p\bar p\ell^-\barν_\ell$ is measured to be $(5.8^{+2.4}_{-2.1}\textrm{(stat.)}\pm 0.9\textrm{(syst.)})\times 10^{-6}$ with a significance of 3.2$σ$, where lepton universality is assumed. We also estimate the corresp…
The study of the charmonium (cbar c) system is a powerful tool to understand the strong interaction. In pbar p annihilations studied with PANDA, the mass and width of the charmonium state, such as h_c, will be measured with an excellent accuracy, determined by the very precise knowledge of the momentum, p, beam resolution (dp/p=10e(-4)-10e(-5)) and not limited by the resolution of the detector. The analysis of h_c demonstrates the feasibility to accurately determine a specific final state in the spectrum of charmed mesons. The preliminary background analysis of the pbar p -> pi0 pi0 pi0 decay …
One of the main objectives of the NA61/SHINE experiment at the CERN SPS is to study properties of strongly interacting matter. This paper presents new results on observables relevant for this part of the NA61/SHINE programme. These include the first ever measurements of $ϕ$ meson production in p+p collisions at 40 and 80 GeV, and most detailed ever experimental data at 158 GeV. This contribution demonstrates the superior accuracy of the present dataset with respect to existing measurements. The comparison of p+p to Pb+Pb collisions shows a non-trivial system size dependence of the longitudinal…
The measurement by the BES collaboration of J/psi -> gamma p pbar decays indicates an enhancement at the p-pbar threshold. In another experiment BES finds a peak in the invariant mass of pi-mesons produced in the possibly related decay J/psi -> gamma pi+ pi- eta'. Using a semi-phenomenological potential model which describes all the N-Nbar scattering data, we show that the explanation of both effects may be given by a broad quasi-bound state in the spin and isospin singlet S wave. The structure of the observed peak is due to an interference of this quasi-bound state with a background amplitude…
We study the four-body baryonic $B\to {\bf B_1 \bar B_2}M_1 M_2$ decays with $\bf B_{1,2}$ ($M_{1,2}$) being charmless baryons (mesons). In accordance with the recent LHCb observations, each decay is considered to proceed through the $B\to M_1 M_2$ transition together with the production of a baryon pair. We obtain that ${\cal B}(B^-\to Λ\bar p π^+π^-)=(3.7^{+1.5}_{-1.0} )\times 10^{-6}$ and ${\cal B}(\bar B^0\to p\bar p π^+π^-,p\bar p π^+ K^-)=(3.0\pm 0.9,6.6\pm 2.4)\times 10^{-6}$, in agreement with the data. We also predict ${\cal B}(B^-\toΛ\bar p K^+ K^-)=(3.0^{+1.3}_{-0.9})\times 10^{-6}$…
The decay $D_s^+\to p \bar p e^+ν_e$ with a proton-antiproton pair in the final state is unique in the sense that it is the only semileptonic baryonic decay which is physically allowed in the charmed meson sector. Its measurement will test our basic knowledge on semileptonic $D_s^+$ decays and the low-energy $p\bar p$ interactions. Taking into account the major intermediate state contributions from $η, η', f_0(980)$ and $X(1835)$, we find that its branching fraction is at the level of $10^{-9} \sim 10^{-8}$. The location and the nature of $X(1835)$ state are crucial for the precise determinati…
