Consider a fibered power of an elliptic surface. We characterize its subvarieties that contain a Zariski dense set of points that are torsion points in fibers with complex multiplication. This result can be viewed as a mix of the Manin-Mumford and André-Oort Conjecture and is related to a conjecture of Pink. The main technical tool is a new height inequality. We also use it to give another proof of a case of Gubler's result on the Bogomolov Conjecture over function fields.

The Relative Bogomolov Conjecture for Fibered Products of Elliptic Curves

We deduce an analogue of the Bogomolov conjecture for non-degenerate subvarieties in fibered products of families of elliptic curves from the author's recent theorem on equidistribution in families of abelian varieties. This generalizes results of DeMarco and Mavraki and improves certain results of Manin-Mumford type proven by Masser and Zannier to results of Bogomolov type, yielding the first results of this type for subvarieties of relative dimension $>1$ in families of abelian varieties with trivial trace.

CM relations in fibered powers of elliptic families

Let $E_λ$ be the Legendre family of elliptic curves. Given $n$ linearly independent points $P_1,\dots , P_n \in E_λ\left(\overline{\mathbb{Q}(λ)}\right)$ we prove that there are at most finitely many complex numbers $λ_0$ such that $E_{λ_0} $ has complex multiplication and $P_1(λ_0), \dots ,P_n(λ_0)$ are dependent over $End(E_{λ_0})$. On the Neron-Severi groups of fibered varieties

We apply Tate's conjecture on algebraic cycles to study the Néron-Severi groups of varieties fibered over a curve. This is inspired by the work of Rosen and Silverman, who carry out such an analysis to derive a formula for the rank of the group of sections of an elliptic surface. State counting on fibered CY-3 folds and the non-Abelian Weak Gravity Conjecture

We extend the dictionary between the BPS spectrum of Heterotic strings and the one of F-/M-theory compactifications on $K3$ fibered Calabi-Yau 3-folds to cases with higher rank non-Abelian gauge groups and in particular to dual pairs between Heterotic CHL orbifolds and compactifications on Calabi-Yau 3-folds with a compatible genus one fibration. Mordell-Weil ranks of families of elliptic curves associated to Pythagorean triples

We study the family of elliptic curves $y^2=x(x-a^2)(x-b^2)$ parametrized by Pythagorean triples $(a,b,c)$. We prove that for a generic triple the lower bound of the rank of the Mordell-Weil group over $\mathbb{Q}$ is 1, and for some explicitly given infinite family the rank is 2. To each family we attach an elliptic surface fibered over the projective line. Non-abelian congruences between special values of $L$-functions of elliptic curves; the CM case

In this work we prove congruences between special values of elliptic curves with CM that seem to play a central role in the analytic side of the non-commutative Iwasawa theory. These congruences are the analogue for elliptic curves with CM of those proved by Kato, Ritter and Weiss for the Tate motive. Bounds on special values of L-functions of elliptic curves in an Artin-Schreier family

In this paper, we study a certain Artin--Schreier family of elliptic curves over the function field $\mathbb{F}_q(t)$. We prove an asymptotic estimate on the size of the special value of their $L$-function in terms of the degree of their conductor; loosely speaking, we show that the special values are "asymptotically as large as possible". Relations between elliptic multiple zeta values and a special derivation algebra

We investigate relations between elliptic multiple zeta values and describe a method to derive the number of indecomposable elements of given weight and length. Injectivity of the specialization homomorphism of elliptic curves

Let $E:y^2=x^3+Ax^2+Bx+C$ be a nonconstant elliptic curve over $\mathbb{Q}(t)$ with at least one nontrivial $\mathbb{Q}(t)$-rational $2$-torsion point. We describe a method for finding $t_0\in\mathbb Q$ for which the corresponding specialization homomorphism $t\mapsto t_0\in\mathbb{Q}$ is injective.
