The coupled-cluster method is applied to the spin-1/2 antiferromagnetic XXZ model on a square lattice by employing an approximation which contains two-body long-range correlations and high-order four-body local correlations. Improvement is found for the ground-state energy, sublattice magnetization, and the critical anisotropy when comparing with the approximation including the two-body correlations alone. We also obtain the full excitation spectrum which is in good agreement with the quantum Monte Carlo results and the high-order spin-wave theory.
The thermodynamic properties of the XXZ spin chain with integrable open boundary conditions at the gaped region (i.e., the anisotropic parameter $η$ being a real number) are investigated. It is shown that the contribution of the inhomogeneous term in the $T-Q$ relation of the ground state and elementary excited state can be neglected when the size of the system $N$ tends to infinity. The surface energy and elementary excitations induced by the unparallel boundary magnetic fields are obtained.
Coplanar model states for applications of the coupled cluster method (CCM) to problems in quantum magnetism are those in which all spins lie in a plane, whereas three-dimensional (3D) model states are, by contrast, non-coplanar ones in which all the spins do not lie in any single plane. Here we extend the CCM to non-coplanar / 3D model states and we present results for three cases: (a) the spin-half one-dimensional Ising ferromagnet in an applied transverse magnetic field (as an exactly solvable test model to use as a yardstick for the viability and accuracy of our new methodology); (b) the sp…
We investigate the high-temperature dynamical conductivity $σ(ω)$ in two one-dimensional integrable quantum lattice models: the anisotropic XXZ spin chain and the Hubbard chain. The emphasis is on the metallic regime of both models, where besides the ballistic component, the regular part of conductivity might reveal a diffusive-like transport. To resolve the low-frequency dynamics, we upgrade the microcanonical Lanczos method enabling studies of finite-size systems with up to $L\leq 32$ sites for XXZ spin model with the frequency resolution $δω\sim 10^{-3} J$. Results for the XXZ chain reveal …
We study the ground state and thermodynamic properties of the spin-half XXZ model, with an Ising interaction $J_z$ and a transverse exchange interaction $J_{x}$, on a pyrochlore tube obtained by joining together elementary cubes in a one-dimensional array. Periodic boundary conditions in the transverse directions ensure that the bulk of the system consists of corner-sharing tetrahedra, with the same local geometry as the pyrochlore lattice. We use exact diagonalization, the density matrix renormalization group (DMRG), and minimally entangled typical thermal states (METTS) methods to study the …
We compute the spin structure factor of XXZ spin chains in the Heisenberg and gapped (Ising) regimes in the high-temperature limit for nonzero magnetization, within the framework of generalized hydrodynamics including diffusive corrections. The structure factor shows a hierarchy of timescales in the gapped phase, owing to $s$-spin magnon bound states (`strings') of various sizes. Although short strings move ballistically, long strings move primarily diffusively as a result of their collisions with short strings. The interplay between these effects gives rise to anomalous power-law decay of the…
We study the magnetism of a quantum spin-1/2 antiferromagnet on a maple-leaf lattice which is obtained by regularly depleting 1/7 of the sites of a triangular lattice. Although the interactions are set to be spatially uniform, the ground state shows a stripe Neel order and the temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility follows that of the one-dimensional XXZ model with a finite spin gap. We examine the nature of frustration by mapping the low energy degenerate manifold of states to the fully packed loop-string model on a dual cluster-depleted honeycomb lattice, finding that the order-by…
The non-Hermitian Su-Schrieffer-Heeger spinless Fermion model with interacting terms is studied by exact diagonalization. The model is derived from the spin chain with damping Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. The presence of the interaction induce anomalous spectral function. The skin effect is exhibited by the non-diagonal terms of the Green's function, i.e. the spatial correlation. The interaction modifies the degeneracy between the ground state and the first excited state of the half filled systems, as well as between the ground state of the half and half plus one filled systems. The ener…
In connection with recent experiments on excitation in which Mott insulators change to conductors, we study the properties of excited states beyond the Mott gap as quasi-stationary states for a two-dimensional Hubbard (t-t'-U) model at half filling. A variational Monte Carlo method is used with trial wave functions for paramagnetic or normal (PM), superconducting with dx2-y2-wave (d-SC), isotropic s-wave, and extended s-wave symmetries, and antiferromagnetic (AF) states. The excited states are generated by imposing a minimum number of doubly occupied sites (doublons) D_L on the lowest-energy s…
We theoretically study the high-harmonic generation (HHG) in one-dimensional spin systems. While in electronic systems the driving by AC electric fields produces radiation from the dynamics of excited charges, we consider here the situation where spin systems excited by a magnetic field pulse generate radiation via a time-dependent magnetization. Specifically, we study the magnetic dipole radiation in two types of ferromagnetic spin chain models, the Ising model with static longitudinal field and the XXZ model, and reveal the structure of the spin HHG and its relation to spin excitations. For …
