最近有证据表明存在一个质量为2380 MeV/c^2、宽度为70 MeV/c^2的二重子,它强烈地衰变到d π 0 π 0通道中[M. Bashkanov等人,Phys.Rev.Lett.
Evidence has recently been presented for the existence of a dibaryon of mass 2380 MeV/c^2 and width 70 MeV/c^2, which decays strongly into the d pi0 pi0 channel [M. Bashkanov et al., Phys.Rev.Lett. 102 (2009) 052301; P. Adlarson et al., arXiv:1104.0123]. The decay rate of such a hypothesised dibaryon into the {pn}_{I=0} pi0 pi0 channel is estimated in a weakly model-dependent way by using final state interaction theory. It is shown that, if the resonance exists, it should then show up as strongly in this channel as in d pi0 pi0. The sum of the two decay modes would saturate most of the inelasticity predicted in the relevant partial waves in the 2380 MeV/c^2 region.
Background: Eclipse effect of the neutron and proton in a deuteron target is essential to correctly describe high-energy deuteron scattering. The nucleus-deuteron scattering needs information not only on the nucleus-proton but also the nucleus-neutron interaction, for which no direct measurement of the nucleus-neutron cross sections is available for unstable nuclei. Purpose: We systematically evaluated the total reaction cross sections by a deuteron target to explore the feasibility of extracting the nucleus-neutron interaction from measurable cross sections. Methods: High-energy nucleus-deute…
Photoneutron cross sections were measured for $^{58}$Ni, $^{60}$Ni, $^{61}$Ni, and $^{64}$Ni at energies between the one-neutron and two-neutron thresholds using quasi-monochromatic $γ$-ray beams produced in laser Compton-scattering at the NewSUBARU synchrotron radiation facility. The new photoneutron data are used to extract the $γ$-ray strength function above the neutron threshold complementing the information obtained by the Oslo method below the threshold. We discuss radiative neutron capture cross sections and the Maxwellian-averaged cross sections for Ni isotopes including $^{63}$Ni, a b…
Within the framework of the improved quantum molecular dynamics model, the medium modifications on the free nucleon-nucleon elastic cross sections are investigated. By using various in-medium nucleon-nucleon elastic cross sections in the model, the nucleon-induced reactions on various targets are simulated, and the excitation functions of reaction cross sections in the energy range from 25 MeV to 1 GeV are calculated. By comparing the calculations with the experimental data, an isospin, density, and momentum-dependence medium correction factor on free nucleon-nucleon elastic cross sections is …
We present neutrino capture cross sections on 13C at supernova neutrino energies, up to 50 MeV. For both charged-current and neutral-current reactions partial cross sections are calculated using statistical Hauser-Feschbach method. Coherent elastic neutrino scattering cross section for a 13C target is also provided.
Proton interactions with $^{16}$O nuclei are the most frequent nuclear interaction leading to secondary radiation in tissues for space radiation and cancer therapy with protons. In addition, $^{16}$O has the largest fluence of galactic cosmic rays, and interacts with hydrogen in tissue or water and polyethylene shielding. The fragmentation of oxygen produces a large number of heavy ion (A>4) target fragments (TF) with high ionization density. Here we develop an analytical model of energy dependent proton-$^{16}$O cross sections. We introduce corrections to measurements of total charge changing…
We systematically analyze nuclear reaction data that are sensitive to nuclear size, namely, proton-nucleus total reaction cross sections and differential elastic cross sections, using a phenomenological black-sphere approximation of nuclei that we are developing. In this framework, the radius of the black sphere is found to be a useful length scale that simultaneously accounts for the observed proton-nucleus total reaction cross section and first diffraction peak in the proton elastic differential cross section. This framework is expected to be applicable to any kind of projectile that is stro…
Flux-integrated semi-exclusive differential and integral cross sections for quasi-elastic neutrino charged-current scattering on argon are analyzed. We calculate these cross sections using the relativistic distorted-wave impulse approximation and compare with recent MicroBooNE data. We found that the measured cross sections can be described well within the experimental uncertainties with value of the nucleon axial mass $1 < M_A < 1.2$ GeV. The contribution of the exclusive channel $\boldmath{(ν_μ, μp)}$ to the flux-integrated inclusive cross sections is about 50\%.
We apply the differential equation method to the calculation of the total Born cross section of the process $Z_1Z_2\to Z_1Z_2e^+e^-$. We obtain explicit expression for the cross section exact in the relative velocity of the nuclei.
