A search is performed for an excess of events, over the standard model expectations, with a photon, a lepton, and large missing transverse energy in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. Such events are expected in many new physics models, in particular a supersymmetric theory that is broken via a gauge-mediated mechanism, when the lightest charged and neutral gauginos are mass degenerate. The data sample used in this search corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35 inverse picobarns collected with the CMS detector at the LHC. No evidence of such an excess above the standard model backgrounds, dominated by W-gamma production, is found. The results are presented as 95% confidence level upper limits on the cross section for a benchmark gauge-mediated scenario, and are then converted into exclusion limits on the squark, gluino, and wino masses.
The four-lepton final state, rare in standard model processes, is an attractive channel for new physics searches at the LHC. In supersymmetry (SUSY), charged leptons may arise from R-Parity conserving (RPC) cascade decays of SUSY particles to the lightest supersymmetric particle, or from R-Parity violating (RPV) decays to standard model particles. This paper presents a search for supersymmetry in events with at least four charged leptons carried out using 20.3 $\text{fb}^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data taken with the ATLAS detector at $\sqrt{s} =$ 8 TeV during the 2012 LHC run. Up to two…

Recent results of searches for events containing isolated leptons and missing transverse momentum at HERA are presented. Searches in this final state have yielded notable excesses over Standard Model expectations in the past. Searches for isolated leptons in channels corresponding to all three generations of leptons over the full HERA running period are now available. The combined H1+ZEUS results for searches for electrons and muons are compatible with the Standard Model.

Events with isolated leptons and missing transverse momentum are searched for in electron- or positron-proton collisions at HERA by the H1 and ZEUS experiments. Such events may be explained within the Standard Model by W boson production, followed by leptonic decay. The analysis performed including HERA I and the recently collected data at HERA II results in clear evidence of W production. However, H1 collaboration observes an excess of events in e^+p collisions, not supported so far by ZEUS. If the difference between the H1 and ZEUS observations is attributed to a statistical fluctuation, the…

We briefly review the lepton flavor violating Z-decays at GigaZ as a probe of supersymmetry by focusing on $Z \to \ell_i \overline{\ell}_j$ in two representative supersymmetric models: the minimal supersymmetric model without R-parity and the supersymmetric seesaw model. We conclude that under the current experimental constraints from LEP and $\ell_i\to \ell_j γ$, these rare decays can still be enhanced to reach the sensitivity of the GigaZ. Therefore, supersymmetry can be probed via these decays at GigaZ.

Recent results of the searches for Supersymmetry in final states with one or two leptons at CMS are presented. Many Supersymmetry scenarios, including the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (CMSSM), predict a substantial amount of events containing leptons, while the largest fraction of Standard Model background events -- which are QCD interactions -- gets strongly reduced by requiring isolated leptons. The analyzed data was taken in 2011 and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of approximately $\mathcal{L} = 1\,\text{fb}^{-1}$. The center-of-mass energy of …
In total 1317 di-lepton events with significant missing transverse momentum were identified in a total data sample of 680 pb-1 collected at e+e- centre-of-mass energies ranging from 183 GeV to 209 GeV. The number of di-lepton events, the dependence on centre-of-mass energy, and the event properties are consistent with expectations from Standard Model processes, predominantly W+W- production with both W bosons decaying leptonically. This topology is also an experimental signature for the pair production of new particles that decay to a charged lepton accompanied by one or more invisible particl…
This work presents a new inclusive search for supersymmetry (SUSY) by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy sqrt(s) = 7 TeV in final states with jets, missing transverse momentum and one or more isolated electrons and/or muons. The search is based on data from the full 2011 data-taking period, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 inverse fb. Single- and multi-lepton channels are treated together in one analysis. An increase in sensitivity is obtained by simultaneously fitting the number of events in statistically independent signal r…
The production of chargino-neutralino pairs and their subsequent leptonic decays is one of the most promising supersymmetry (SUSY) signatures at the Tevatron $p\bar{p}$ collider. We present here the most recent results on the search for the three-lepton and missing-transverse-energy SUSY signature using data collected with the CDF II detector. Events with signatures involving large missing transverse energy (MET) are among the quintessential search modes for R-parity conserving supersymmetry. CDF has conducted two recent analyses for supersymmetry which use MET and jets. The MET and monojet signature is employed to determine process independent limits for the production of new physics beyond the Standard Model and then applied to models of spontaneous breaking of supersymmetry to determine limits on the supersymmetry breaking parameter and the gravitino mass. Direct searches for scalar top and scalar bottom quarks within the framewo…

The search makes use of 3.2 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV in 2015. Using a combination of data-driven and Monte-Carlo-based approaches, the Standard Model background is estimated to be $0.27^{+0.22}_{-0.10}$ events. No events are observed in the signal region; considering the expected background and its uncertainty, this observation implies a model-independent 95% CL upp…
