Competition of crystal field splitting and Hund's rule coupling in magnetic metal-insulator transitions of half-filled two-orbital Hubbard model is investigated by multi-orbital slave-boson mean field theory. We show that with the increase of Coulomb correlation, the system firstly transits from a paramagnetic (PM) metal to a {\it Néel} antiferromagnetic (AFM) Mott insulator, or a nonmagnetic orbital insulator, depending on the competition of crystal field splitting and the Hund's rule coupling. The different AFM Mott insulator, PM metal and orbital insulating phase are none, partially and fully orbital polarized, respectively. For a small $J_{H}$ and a finite crystal field, the orbital insulator is robust. Although the system is nonmagnetic, the phase boundary of the orbital insulator transition obviously shifts to the small $U$ regime after the magnetic correlations is taken into account. These results demonstrate that large crystal field splitting favors the formation of the orbital insulating phase, while large Hund's rule coupling tends to destroy it, driving the low-spin to high-spin transition.
We investigate a problem about the competition between the hybridization and the Hund-rule coupling by applying the Wilson numerical renormalization-group method to the extended Kondo model where the impurity spin interacts via the Hund-rule coupling, with an extra spin which is isolated from the conduction electrons. It is shown that the Hund-rule coupling is an irrelevant perturbation against the strong coupling fixed point. However, the Hund-rule coupling decreases the characteristic energy $T_K$ drastically to the lower side and the irrelevant operator, which describes the low energy physi…
We study the ground-state properties of an extended periodic Anderson model to understand the role of Hund's coupling between localized and itinerant electrons using the density-matrix renormalization group algorithm. By calculating the von Neumann entropies we show that two phase transitions occur and two new phases appear as the hybridization is increased in the symmetric half-filled case due to the competition between Kondo-effect and Hund's coupling. In the intermediate phase, which is bounded by two critical points, we found a dimerized ground state, while in the other spatially homogeneo…
We analyze the stability of excitonic ground states in the two-band Hubbard model with additional electron-phonon and Hund's rule couplings using a combination of mean-field and variational cluster approaches. We show that both the interband Coulomb interaction and the electron-phonon interaction will cooperatively stabilize a charge density wave (CDW) state which typifies an "excitonic" CDW if predominantly triggered by the effective interorbital electron-hole attraction or a "phononic" CDW if mostly caused by the coupling to the lattice degrees of freedom. By contrast, the Hund's rule coupli…
We study the effect of a uniform external magnetization on p-wave superconductivity on the (001) surface of the crystalline topological insulator(TCI) Pb$_{1-x}$Sn$_{x}$Te. It was shown by us in an earlier work that a chiral p-wave finite momentum pairing (FFLO) state can be stabilized in this system in the presence of weak repulsive interparticle interactions. In particular, the superconducting instability is very sensitive to the Hund's interaction in the multiorbital TCI, and no instabilities are found to be possible for the "wrong" sign of the Hund's splitting. Here we show that for a fini…
We study the effect of Hund's splitting of repulsive interactions on electronic phase transitions in the multiorbital topological crystalline insulator Pb$_{1-x}$Sn$_{x}$Te, when the chemical potential is tuned to the vicinity of low-lying Type-II Van Hove singularities. Nontrivial Berry phases associated with the Bloch states impart momentum-dependence to electron interactions in the relevant band. We use a multipatch parquet renormalization group (RG) analysis for studying the competition of different electronic phases, and find that if the dominant fixed-point interactions correspond to ant…
Magnetic competition in topological kagome magnets is studied by incorporating the spin-orbit coupling, the anisotropic Hund coupling and spin exchange into the kagome lattice. Using the Bogoliubov variational principle we find the stable phases at zero and finite temperatures. At zero temperature and in the strong Ising-Hund coupling regime, a magnetic tunability from the out-of-plane ferromagnetism (FM) to the in-plane antiferromagnetism (AFM) is achieved by a universal property of the critical in-plane Hund coupling. At two-thirds filling the phase transition from the out-of-plane FM to the…
The multi-orbital Hubbard model in one dimension is studied using the numerical diagonalization method. Due to the effect of the crystal-field splitting $Δ$, the fully polarized ferromagnetism which is observed in the strong coupling regime becomes unstable against the partially polarized ferromagnetism when the Hund's rule coupling $J$ is smaller than a certain critical value of order of $Δ$. In the vicinity of the partially polarized ferromagnetism, the orbital fluctuation develops due to the competition between the Hund's rule coupling and the crystal-field splitting. The superconducting ph…
We point out the generic competition between the Hund's coupling and the spin-orbit coupling in correlated materials, and this competition leads to an electronic dilemma between the Hund's metal and the relativistic insulators. Hund's metals refer to the fate of the would-be insulators where the Hund's coupling suppresses the correlation and drives the systems into correlated metals. Relativistic Mott insulators refer to the fate of the would-be metals where the relativistic spin-orbit coupling enhances the correlation and drives the systems into Mott insulators. These contradictory trends are…
We propose a simple picture for the occurrence of superconductivity and the pressure dependence of the superconducting critical temperature, T_{SC}, in ZrZn_2. According to our hypothesis the pairing potential is independent of pressure, but the exchange splitting, E_{xc}, leads to a pressure dependence in the (spin dependent) density of states at the Fermi level, D_σ(ε_F). Assuming p-wave pairing T_{SC} is dependent on D_σ(ε_F) which ensures that, in the absence of non-magnetic impurities, T_{SC} decreases as pressure is applied until it reaches a minimum in the paramagnetic state. Disorder r…

We analyze the electronic properties of interacting crystal field split three band systems. Using a rotationally invariant slave boson approach we analyze the behavior of the electronic mass renormalization as a function of the intralevel repulsion $U$, the Hund's coupling $J$, the crystal field splitting, and the number of electrons per site $n$. We first focus on the case in which two of the bands are identical and the levels of the third one are shifted by $Δ>0$ with respect to the former. We find an increasing quasiparticle mass differentiation between the bands, for system away from half-…
While excitonic instabilities in multiorbital systems recently have come under scrutiny in a variety of transition-metal compounds, understanding emergence of these instabilities from strong electronic interactions has remained a challenge. Here, we present a sign-problem-free determinant quantum Monte Carlo study of excitonic density orders in a half-filled two-orbital Hubbard-Kanamori model with broken orbital degeneracy, which accounts for the role of Hund's coupling in transition-metal compounds. For strong inverted (negative) Hund's exchange, we find numerical evidence for the emergence o…
The recently reported unusual behavior of the static and dynamical magnetic susceptibility as well as the specific heat in Ce$_{1-x}$La$_{x}$Ni$_{9}$Ge$_4$ has raised the question of a possible non-Fermi liquid ground state in this material. We argue that for a consistent physical picture the crystal field splitting of two low lying magnetic doublets of the Ce $4f$-shell must be taken into account. Furthermore, we show that for a splitting of the order of the low temperature scale $T^*$ of the system a crossover behavior between an SU(4) and an SU(2) Kondo effect is found. The screening of the…
We study the interplay of crystal field splitting and Hund coupling in a two-orbital model which captures the essential physics of systems with two electrons or holes in the e_g shell. We use single site dynamical mean field theory with a recently developed impurity solver which is able to access strong couplings and low temperatures. The fillings of the orbitals and the location of phase boundaries are computed as a function of Coulomb repulsion, exchange coupling and crystal field splitting. We find that the Hund coupling can drive the system into a novel Mott insulating phase with vanishing…
The two-orbital Hubbard model with the Hund coupling is investigated in a metallic phase close to the Mott insulator. We calculate the one-particle spectral function and the optical conductivity within dynamical mean field theory, for which the effective impurity problem is solved by using the non-crossing approximation. For a metallic system close to quarter filling, a heavy quasi-particle band is formed by the Hubbard interaction, the effective mass of which is not so sensitive to the orbital splitting and the Hund coupling. In contrast, a heavy quasi-particle band near half filling disappea…
Engineering non trivial topological phases in materials, specially skyrmion-like arrangements, has been of great interest in the last decade due to its potential technological applications. In this work, we study a model of electrons coupled to a magnetic texture in the kagome lattice interacting with magnetic moments via Rashba spin orbit coupling in the large Hund interaction limit. We obtain the effective spin Hamiltonian and study the emergent low temperature phases under an external magnetic field using large scale Monte Carlo simulations. We show that strong geometric frustration, charac…
We report photoemission experiments revealing the valence electron spectral function of Mn, Fe, Co and Ni atoms on the Ag(100) surface. The series of spectra shows splittings of higher energy features which decrease with the filling of the 3d shell and a highly non-monotonous evolution of spectral weight near the Fermi edge. First principles calculations demonstrate that two manifestations of Hund's exchange $J$ are responsible for this evolution. First, there is a monotonous reduction of the effective exchange splittings with increasing filling of the 3d shell. Second, the amount of charge fl…
The crystal-field (CF) splitting of the $^6H_{5/2}$ Hund's rule ground state of Sm$^{3+}$ in the strongly correlated topological insulator SmB$_6$ has been determined with high resolution resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) at the Sm M$_5$ edge. The valence selectivity of RIXS allows isolating the crystal-field-split excited multiplets of the Sm$^{3+}$ (4$f^5$) configuration from those of Sm$^{2+}$ (4$f^6$) in intermediate valent SmB$_6$. The very large energy range of RIXS allows the crystal-field analysis of a high lying multiplet at about 2.4\,eV that has the same total angular momen…
By many-body quantum-chemical calculations, we investigate the role of two structural effects - local ligand distortions and the anisotropic Cd-ion coordination - on the magnetic state of Cd2Os2O7, a spin S=3/2 pyrochlore. We find that these effects strongly compete, rendering the magnetic interactions and ordering crucially depend on these geometrical features. Without trigonal distortions a large easy-plane magnetic anisotropy develops. Their presence, however, reverses the sign of the zero-field splitting and causes a large easy-axis anisotropy (D = -6.8 meV), which in conjunction with the …
Hund's metals are multi-orbital systems with $3d$ or $4d$ electrons exhibiting both itinerant character and local moments, and they feature Kondo-like screenings of local orbital and spin moments, with suppressed coherence temperature driven by Hund's coupling $J_H$. They often exhibit magnetic order at low temperature, but how the interaction between the Kondo-like screening and long-range magnetic order is manifested in the quasiparticle spectrum remains an open question. Here we present spectroscopic signature of such interaction in a Hund's metal candidate MnSi exhibiting weak ferromagneti…
We investigate the quasiparticle dynamics in the two-orbital Hubbard model on the square lattice at quarter filling by means of the cellular dynamical mean field theory. We show that the Fermi-liquid state is stabilized up to the large Hubbard interactions in the symmetric case without the Hund's coupling, and find the heavy quasiparticles around the metal-insulator boundary. It is elucidated that the Hund's coupling enhances the antiferro-orbital correlations, which give rise to the pseudo gap behavior in the single-particle excitations. We also find the nonmonotonic temperature dependence in…
Hund's rule is one of the fundamentals of the correlation physics at the atomic level, determining the ground state multiplet of the electrons. It consists of three laws: (i) maximum $S$ (total spin), (ii) maximum $L$ (total orbital angular momentum) under the constraint of (i), and (iii) the total angular momentum $J$ is $|L-S|$ for electron number less than half, while $J=L+S$ for more than half due to the relativistic spin-orbit interaction (SOI). In real systems, the electrons hop between the atoms and gain the itinerancy, which is usually described by the band theory. The whole content of…
Motivated by the unexplored complexity of the phase diagrams for multi-orbital Hubbard models, a three-band Hubbard model at integer fillings (N=4) with orbital degeneracy lifted partially by crystal field splitting is analyzed systematically in this work. By using single site dynamical mean-field theory and rotationally invariant Gutzwiller approximation, we have computed the full phase diagram with Coulomb interaction strength $U$ and crystal field splitting $Δ$. We find a large region in the phase diagram, where an orbital selective Mott phase will be stabilized by the positive crystal fiel…
We investigate the effects of crystal field splitting in a doped two-band Hubbard model with different bandwidths within dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT), using a quantum Monte Carlo impurity solver. In addition to an orbital-selective Mott phase (OSMP) of the narrow band, which is adiabatically connected with the well-studied OSMP in the half-filled case without crystal field splitting, we find, for sufficiently strong interaction and a suitable crystal field, also an OSMP of the wide band. We establish the phase diagram (in the absence of magnetic or orbital order) at moderate doping as a …
We consider a model which includes the electron-phonon coupling to Ag or Jahn-Teller Hg phonons, the Coulomb interaction U and an exchange integral K. We study the metal-insulator transition for the integer fillings n=3 and 4. We find that the coupling to Ag phonons increases the critical value Uc where the transition takes place, while the coupling to Hg phonons decreases Uc. Without electron-phonon coupling the Hund's rule coupling also decreases Uc. There is, however, an interesting competition between the Hund's rule coupling and the Jahn-Teller effect. Thus the reduction of Uc due to the …
Despite of the importance of magnetism in possible relation to other key properties in iron-based superconductors, its understanding is still far from complete especially for FeSe systems. On one hand, the origin of the absence of magnetic orders in bulk FeSe is yet to be clarified. On the other hand, it is still not clear how close monolayer FeSe on SrTiO$_3$, with the highest transition temperature among iron-based superconductors, is to a magnetic instability. Here we investigate magnetic properties of bulk and monolayer FeSe using dynamical mean-field theory combined with density-functiona…
Multiorbital interactions have the capacity to produce an interesting kind of doublon-holon bound state that consists of a single-hole state in one band and a doubly-occupied state in another band. Interband doublon-holon pair excitations in the two-orbital Hubbard model are studied by using dynamical mean-field theory with the Lanczos method as the impurity solver. We find that the interband bound states may provide several in-gap quasiparticle peaks in the density of states of the narrow band in the orbital-selective Mott phase with a small Hund's rule coupling ($J$). There exists a correspo…
This paper is a brief review of our recent studies concerning on magnetism and electronic states of lattice systems with Hund coupling. First we examined the effectiveness of the Hund coupling in realizing ferromagnetism in the doubly degenerate Hubbard model. One- and infinite-dimensional systems were studied and thereby dimensional dependence was discussed. In quarter-filled systems the insulating ferromagnetic state accompanied by alternating orbital order was found stable. In more-than-quarter filling cases metallic ferromagnetism is stabilized by the ``double exchange mechanism''. These r…
Using relativistic first-principles calculations, we show that the chemical trend of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) in 3d-5d ultrathin films follows Hund's first rule with a tendency similar to their magnetic moments in either the unsupported 3d monolayers or 3d-5d interfaces. We demonstrate that, besides the spin-orbit coupling (SOC) effect in inversion asymmetric noncollinear magnetic systems, the driving force is the 3d orbital occupation and their spin flip/mixing processes with the spin-orbit active 5d states control directly the sign and magnitude of the DMI. The magnetic chiral…
We investigate the nature of the insulating phases in a bilayer Hubbard model with intralayer coupling $t$ and interlayer coupling $t_{\perp}$ at large interaction strength $U/t$ and half-filling. We consider a dynamical cluster approximation with a cluster size of $N_c=2\times4$, where short-range spatial fluctuations as well as on-site dynamical fluctuations are emphasized. By varying the band splitting ($t_{\perp}/t$), we find that at $t_{\perp}/t\simeq1.5$ the Mott behavior is rapidly suppressed in the momentum sectors ($π,0$) and ($0,π$). At $t_{\perp}/t\simeq2.5$ Mott features dominate i…
We present our theoretical results on the ground states in layered triangular-lattice compounds ANiO2 (A=Na, Li, Ag). To describe the interplay between charge, spin, orbital, and lattice degrees of freedom in these materials, we study a doubly-degenerate Hubbard model with electron-phonon couplings by the Hartree-Fock approximation combined with the adiabatic approximation. In a weakly-correlated region, we find a metallic state accompanied by \sqroot3x\sqroot3 charge ordering. On the other hand, we obtain an insulating phase with spin-ferro and orbital-ferro ordering in a wide range from inte…
Different models for doping of two-orbital chains with mobile $S=1/2$ fermions and strong, ferromagnetic (FM) Hund's rule couplings stabilizing the S=1 spins are investigated by density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) methods. The competition between antiferromagnetic (AF) and FM order leads to a rich phase diagram with a narrow FM region for weak AF couplings and strongly enhanced triplet pairing correlations. Without a level difference between the orbitals, the spin gap persists upon doping, whereas gapless spin excitations are generated by interactions among itinerant polarons in the pr…
The rare-earth based pyrochlore molybdates involve orbitally degenerate electrons Hund's coupled to local moments. The large Hund's coupling promotes ferromagnetism, the superexchange between the local moments prefers antiferromagnetism, and Hubbard repulsion tries to open a Mott gap. The phase competition is tuned by the rare-earth ionic radius, decreasing which leads to change from a ferromagnetic metal to a spin disordered highly resistive ground state, and ultimately an 'Anderson-Mott' insulator. We attempt a quantitative theory of the molybdates by studying their minimal model on a pyroch…
We analyze multi-orbital Hubbard models describing Hund's metals, focusing on the ubiquitous occurrence of a charge instability, signalled by a divergent/negative electronic compressibility, in a range of doping from the half-filled Mott insulator corresponding to the frontier between Hund's and normal metals. We show that the breaking of rotational invariance favors this instability: both spin-anisotropy in the interaction and crystal-field splitting among the orbitals make the instability zone extend to larger dopings, making it relevant for real materials like iron-based superconductors. Th…
Utilizing magnetic susceptibility, specific heat, thermal expansion and IR spectroscopy we provide experimental evidence that the two subsequent antiferromagnetic transitions in ZnCr_2S_4 at T_N1 = 15 K and T_N2= 8 K are accompanied by significant thermal and phonon anomalies. The anomaly at T_N2 reveals a strong temperature hysteresis typical for a first-order transformation. Due to strong spin-phonon coupling both magnetic phase transitions induce a splitting of phonon modes, where at T_N1 the high-frequency and at T_N2 the low-frequency modes split. The anomalies and phonon splitting observ…
We study the interplay between the electron-electron (e-e) and the electron-phonon (e-ph) interactions in the two-orbital Hubbard-Holstein model at half filling using the dynamical mean field theory. We find that the e-ph interaction, even at weak couplings, strongly modifies the phase diagram of this model and introduces an orbital-selective Peierls insulating phase (OSPI) that is analogous to the widely studied orbital-selective Mott phase (OSMP). At small e-e and e-ph coupling, we find a competition between the OSMP and the OSPI, while at large couplings, a competition occurs between Mott a…
We explore the transition to a charge-disproportionated insulating phase in a five-orbital cubic tight-binding model applicable to transition-metal perovskites with a formal $d^4$ occupation of the transition-metal cation, such as ferrates or manganites. We use dynamical mean-field theory to obtain the phase diagram as a function of the average local Coulomb repulsion $U$ and the Hund's coupling $J$. The main structure of the phase diagram follows from the zero band-width (atomic) limit and represents the competition between high-spin and low-spin homogeneous and an inhomogeneous charge-dispro…
The theoretical understanding of the nematic state of iron-based superconductors and especially of FeSe is still a puzzling problem. Although a number of experiments calls for a prominent role of local correlations and place iron superconductors at the entrance of a Hund metal state, the effect of the electronic correlations on the nematic state has been theoretically poorly investigated. In this work we study the nematic phase of iron superconductors accounting for local correlations, including the effect of the Hund's coupling. We show that Hund's physics strongly affects the nematic propert…
Magnetic properties of Li$_x$CoO$_2$ for $x = 0.94, 0.75, 0.66$ and $0.51$ were investigated in frames of method combining Generalized Gradient Approximation with Dynamical Mean--Field Theory (GGA+DMFT). We found that a delicate interplay between Hund's exchange energy and $t_{2g}-e_g$ crystal field splitting is responsible for the high spin to low spin state transition for Co$^{4+}$ ions. The GGA+DMFT calculations show that at small doping level the Co$^{4+}$ ions adopt high spin state, while delithiation results in increase of the crystal field splitting and low spin state becomes preferable…
Successive phase transitions in a rare-earth monoaxial chiral magnet DyNi$_3$Ga$_{9}$ have been investigated by resonant x-ray diffraction. Magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole degrees of freedom arising from the large angular moment of $J=15/2$, in combination with the symmetric and antisymmetric exchange interactions and the crystal field anisotropy, give rise to competing ordered phases. We show that the antiferromagnetically coupled Dy moments in the $ab$-plane form an incommensurate helimagnetic order with $q\sim(0, 0, 0.43)$ just below $T_{\text{N}}=10$ K, which further exhibits succe…
We investigate the half-filled two-orbital Hubbard model with the crystalline electric field using dynamical mean-field theory combined with the continuous-time quantum Monte Carlo simulations. We systematically study how the interplay of the intra- and interorbital Coulomb interations together with the Hund coupling realizes the diagonal and off-diagonal ordered states. It is found that the antiferroorbital ordered state is realized in the Hubbard model, in addition to the antiferromagnetically ordered and excitonic states. The competition between the antiferroorbital ordered and excitonic st…
We study the symmetry-broken phases in two- and three-orbital Hubbard models with lifted orbital degeneracy using dynamical mean field theory. On the technical level, we explain how symmetry relations can be exploited to measure the four-point correlation functions needed for the calculation of the lattice susceptibilities. In the half-filled two-orbital model with crystal field splitting, we find an instability of the metallic phase to spin-orbital order with neither spin nor orbital moment. This ordered phase is shown to be related to the recently discovered fluctuating-moment induced spin-t…
Effects of spontaneous parity breaking by charge, spin, and orbital orders are investigated in a two-band Hubbard model on a honeycomb lattice. This is a minimal model in which the inter-orbital hopping, atomic spin-orbit coupling, and strong electron correlation give rise to fascinating properties, such as the magnetoelectric effects, quantum spin Hall effect, and spin or valley splitting in the band structure. We perform the symmetry analysis of possible broken-parity states and the mean-field analysis of their competition. We find that the model at 1/4 filling exhibits a spin-orbital compos…

We investigate the 5d transition metal oxide BaOsO$_3$ within a combination of density functional theory (DFT) and dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT), using a matrix-product-state impurity solver. BaOsO$_3$ has 4 electrons in the t$_{2g}$ shell akin to ruthenates but stronger spin-orbit coupling (SOC) and is thus expected to reveal an interplay of Hund's metal behavior with SOC. We explore the paramagnetic phase diagram as a function of SOC and Hubbard interaction strengths, identifying metallic, band (van-Vleck) insulating and Mott insulating regions. At the physical values of the two couplin…
We investigate the violation of the first Hund's rule in 4$d$ and 5$d$ transition metal oxides that form solids of dimers. Bonding states within these dimers reduce the magnetization of such materials. We parametrize the dimer formation with realistic hopping parameters and find not only regimes, where the system behaves as a Fermi liquid or as a Peierls insulator, but also strongly correlated regions due to Hund's coupling and its competition with the dimer formation. The electronic structure is investigated using the cluster dynamical mean-field theory for a dimer in the two-plane Bethe latt…
In kagome metals AV3Sb5 (A = K, Rb, Cs), three-dimensional charge order (3D-CO) is the primary instability that sets the stage for other collective orders to emerge, including unidirectional stripe order, orbital flux order, electronic nematicity, and superconductivity. Here, we use high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy to determine the microscopic structure of three-dimensional charge order (3D-CO) in AV3Sb5 and its interplay with superconductivity. Our approach is based on identifying an unusual splitting of kagome bands induced by 3D-CO, which provides a sensitive way to…
We study the three-orbital Kondo effect in quantum dot (QD) systems by applying the non-crossing approximation to the three-orbital Anderson impurity model. By investigating the tunneling conductance through a QD, we show that the competition between the Hund-coupling and the orbital level-splitting gives rise to characteristic behavior in transport properties. It is found that the Hund-coupling becomes more important in the three-orbital case than in the two-orbital case. We also show that the enhancement of Kondo temperature due to the singlet-triplet mechanism suggested for the two-orbital …
We show that in transition metal compounds containing structural metal dimers there may exist in the presence of different orbitals a special state with partial formation of singlets by electrons on one orbital, while others are effectively decoupled and may give e.g. long-range magnetic order or stay paramagnetic. Similar situation can be realized in dimers spontaneously formed at structural phase transitions, which can be called orbital-selective Peierls transition. This can occur in case of strongly nonuniform hopping integrals for different orbitals and small intra-atomic Hund's rule coupl…
Spin splitting in the integer quantum Hall effect is investigated for a series of Al$_{x}$Ga$_{1-x}$As/GaAs heterojunctions and quantum wells. Magnetoresistance measurements are performed at mK temperature to characterize the electronic density of states and estimate the strength of many body interactions. A simple model with no free parameters correctly predicts the magnetic field required to observe spin splitting confirming that the appearance of spin splitting is a result of a competition between the disorder induced energy cost of flipping spins and the exchange energy gain associated wit…
