The aim of this paper is to demonstrate that in models with large extra dimensions under special conditions one can extract information from the interior of 4D black holes. For this purpose we study an induced geometry on a test brane in the background of a higher dimensional static black string or a black brane. We show that at the intersection surface of the test brane and the bulk black string/brane the induced metric has an event horizon, so that the test brane contains a black hole. We call it a brane hole. When the test brane moves with a constant velocity V with respect to the bulk black object it also has a brane hole, but its gravitational radius r_e is greater than the size of the bulk black string/brane r_0 by the factor (1-V^2)^{-1}. We show that bulk `photon' emitted in the region between r_0 and r_e can meet the test brane again at a point outside r_e. From the point of view of observers on the test brane the events of emission and capture of the bulk `photon' are connected by a spacelike curve in the induced geometry. This shows an example in which extra dimensions can be used to extract information from the interior of a lower dimensional black object. Instead of the bulk black string/brane, one can also consider a bulk geometry without horizon. We show that nevertheless the induced geometry on the moving test brane can include a brane hole. In such a case the extra dimensions can be used to extract information from the complete region of the brane hole interior. We discuss thermodynamic properties of brane holes and interesting questions which arise when such an extra dimensional channel for the information mining exists.
We construct analogue black hole solutions in the braneworld scenario. The quantum fluctuations of condensate gravitons propagating around a $4+n$-dimensional gravitational potential are found yielding a metric similar to higher dimensional Schwarzschild black hole line-element. Black hole analogue solutions in Randall-Sundrum and Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati brane world models are also constructed. The properties of such black hole analogues are discussed.
In recent work we have shown that a black hole stacked on a brane escapes once it acquires a recoil velocity. This result was obtained in the {\it probe-brane} approximation, {\it i.e.}, when the tension of the brane is negligibly small. Therefore, it is not clear whether the effect of the brane tension may prevent the black hole from escaping for small recoil velocities. The question is whether a critical escape velocity exists. Here, we analyze this problem by studying the interaction between a Dirac-Nambu-Goto brane and a black hole assuming adiabatic (quasi-static) evolution. By describing…
TeV-scale gravity theories allow the possibility of producing small black holes at energies that soon will be explored at the LHC or at the Auger observatory. One of the expected signatures is the detection of Hawking radiation, that might eventually terminate if the black hole, once perturbed, leaves the brane. Here, we study how the `black hole plus brane' system evolves once the black hole is given an initial velocity, that mimics, for instance, the recoil due to the emission of a graviton. The results of our dynamical analysis show that the brane bends around the black hole, suggesting tha…
We present a comprehensive black-hole event generator, BlackMax, which simulates the experimental signatures of microscopic and Planckian black-hole production and evolution at the LHC in the context of brane world models with low-scale quantum gravity. The generator is based on phenomenologically realistic models free of serious problems that plague low-scale gravity, thus offering more realistic predictions for hadron-hadron colliders. The generator includes all of the black-hole graybody factors known to date and incorporates the effects of black-hole rotation, splitting between the fermion…
We study interaction of rotating higher dimensional black holes with a brane in space-times with large extra dimensions. We demonstrate that in a general case a rotating black hole attached to a brane can loose bulk components of its angular momenta. A stationary black hole can have only those components of the angular momenta which are connected with Killing vectors generating transformations preserving a position of the brane. In a final stationary state the null Killing vector generating the black hole horizon is tangent to the brane. We discuss first the interaction of a cosmic string and …
In the context of brane-world theories, the production cross-section for black holes may be greatly enhanced. Such black holes can in principle lead to detectable signals via their Hawking evaporation to brane-localized modes. We calculate, in the semiclassical approximation, the leading corrections to the energy spectrum (the greybody factors) for decay into scalar fields, as a function of the number of toroidally compactified extra dimensions, and partial wave number.
We construct from first principles the geometry of an analytic, exponentially localized five-dimensional brane-world black hole. The black-hole singularity lies entirely on the 3-brane, while the event horizon is shown to have a pancake shape. The induced line-element on the brane assumes the form of the Schwarzschild solution while the bulk geometry is effectively AdS$_5$ outside the horizon. The derived geometry is supported by an anisotropic fluid in the bulk described only by two independent components, the energy density and tangential pressure, whereas no matter needs to be introduced on…
We find rotating black hole solutions in the Randall-Sundrum II (RSII) model, by numerically solving a three-dimensional PDE problem using pseudospectral collocation methods. We compute the area and equatorial inner-most stable orbits of these solutions. For large black holes compared with the AdS length scale, $\ell$, the black hole exhibits four-dimensional behaviour, approaching the Kerr metric on the brane, whilst for small black holes, the solution tends instead towards a five-dimensional Myers-Perry black hole with a single non-zero rotation parameter aligned with the brane. This departu…
We examine the evaporation of a small black hole on a brane in a world with large extra dimensions. Since the masses of many Kaluza-Klein modes are much smaller than the Hawking temperature of the black hole, it has been claimed that most of the energy is radiated into these modes. We show that this is incorrect. Most of the energy goes into the modes on the brane. This raises the possibility of observing Hawking radiation in future high energy colliders if there are large extra dimensions.
No realistic black holes localized on a 3-brane in the Randall-Sundrum infinite braneworld have been found so far. The problem of finding a static black hole solution is reduced to a boundary value problem. We solve it by means of a numerical method, and show numerical examples of a localized black hole whose horizon radius is small compared to the bulk curvature scale. The sequence of small localized black holes exhibits a smooth transition from a five-dimensional Schwarzschild black hole, which is a solution in the limit of small horizon radius. The localized black hole tends to flatten as i…
A black hole attached to a brane in a higher dimensional space emitting quanta into the bulk may leave the brane as a result of a recoil. We study this effect. We consider black holes which have a size much smaller than the characteristic size of extra dimensions. Such a black hole can be effectively described as a massive particle with internal degrees of freedom. We consider an interaction of such particles with a scalar massless field and prove that for a special choice of the coupling constant describing the transition of the particle to a state with smaller mass the probability of massles…
A small black hole attached to a brane in a higher dimensional space emitting quanta into the bulk may leave the brane as a result of a recoil. We construct a field theory model in which such a black hole is described as a massive scalar particle with internal degrees of freedom. In this model, the probability of transition between the different internal levels followed by emission of massless quanta is identical to the probability of thermal emission calculated for the Schwarzschild black hole. The discussed recoil effect implies that the thermal emission of the black holes, which might be cr…
We review recent work on the Hawking radiation of rotating brane black holes, as may be produced at the LHC. We outline the methodology for calculating the fluxes of particles, energy and angular momentum by spin-0, spin-1/2 and spin-1 quantum fields on the brane. We briefly review some of the key features of the emission, in particular the changes in the spectra as the number of extra dimensions or the angular velocity of the black hole increases. These quantities will be useful for accurate simulations of black hole events at the LHC.
If gravity becomes strong at the TeV scale, we may have the chance to produce black holes at particle colliders. In this paper we study some experimental signatures of black hole production in TeV-gravity theories. In contrast with the usual lore, we show that the black hole energy loss in the bulk during the Hawking evaporation phase may be of the same order of the energy radiated into the brane. We investigate in detail the multiplicity of the decay products of black hole evaporation. We find that the number of particles produced during the evaporation phase is significantly lower than the a…
To test recent ideas about lower dimensional gravity bound to a brane, we construct exact solutions describing black holes on two-branes in four dimensions. We find that 2+1 gravity is indeed recovered at large distances along the brane, although there are significant deviations at smaller scales. Large black holes appear as flattened "pancakes", with a relatively small extent off the brane. Black hole thermodynamics is discussed from both the standpoint of the brane and the bulk. We comment on the analogous black holes bound to higher dimensional branes.
We extend our recent discussion of four-dimensional black holes bound to a two-brane to include a negative cosmological constant on the brane. We find that for large masses, the solutions are precisely BTZ black holes on the brane, and BTZ `black strings' in the bulk. For smaller masses, there are localized black holes which look like BTZ with corrections that fall off exponentially. We compute when the maximum entropy configuration changes from the black string to the black hole. We also present exact solutions describing rotating black holes on two-branes which are either asymptotically flat…
We numerically construct time-symmetric initial data sets of a black hole in the Randall-Sundrum brane world model, assuming that the black hole is spherical on the brane. We find that the apparent horizon is cigar-shaped in the 5D spacetime.
An M-brane and anti-M-brane scheme is proposed to study nonextremal 4D and 5D black holes. The improved nonextremal intersecting M-brane solutions proposed here, involve two sets of harmonic functions. The constraints among the pressures are found, and new features in the M-brane and anti-M-brane picture are demonstrated, which resolve the discrepancy in the number of free parameters in the D-brane picture. In terms of the ``numbers'' of M-branes and anti-M-branes, the prefactors of the entropies are found to be model independent, and the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy assumes the duality invarian…
We examine the stability of extremal braneworld Reissner-Nordström black holes under massive charged scalar perturbations. We show that similar to the four-dimensional case, the superradiant amplification can occur in braneworld charged holes. More interestingly we find that when the spacetime dimension is higher than four, a trapping potential well can emerge outside the braneworld black hole. This potential well is the extra dimensional effect and does not exist in four dimensions. It triggers the superradiant instability of the extremal braneworld charged holes.
We study the possibility of having a static, asymptotically AdS black hole localized on a braneworld with matter fields, within the framework of the Randall and Sundrum scenario. We attempt to look for such a brane black hole configuration by slicing a given bulk spacetime and taking Z_2 symmetry about the slices. We find that such configurations are possible, and as an explicit example, we provide a family of asymptotically AdS brane black hole solutions for which both the bulk and brane metrics are regular on and outside the black hole horizon and brane matter fields are realistic in the sen…
The thermodynamics and phase transitions of charged RN-AdS and rotating Kerr-AdS black holes in a generalized Randall-Sundrum braneworld are investigated in the framework of thermodynamic geometry. A detailed analysis of the thermodynamics, stability and phase structures in the canonical and the grand canonical ensembles for these AdS braneworld black holes are described. The thermodynamic curvatures for both these AdS braneworld black holes are computed and studied as a function of the thermodynamic variables. Through this analysis we illustrate an interesting dependence of the phase structur…
We study stars in the brane-world by employing the principle of minimal geometric deformation and find that brane-world black hole metrics with a tidal charge are consistently recovered in a suitable limit. This procedure allows us to determine the tidal charge as a function of the black hole ADM mass (and brane tension). A minimum mass for semiclassical microscopic black holes can then be derived, with a relevant impact for the description of black hole events at the LHC.
Following a recent approach, complete and analytic solutions (brane and bulk) of regular black holes are shown in a brane context. The metrics are regular both on the four-dimensional brane and in the five-dimensional bulk. Like many brane world scenarios, the bulk spacetime is asymptotically anti-de Sitter. On the other hand, a de Sitter core on the brane avoids the singularity inside the event horizon, providing then well-known regular black holes on the brane. From the bulk perspective, the regular black holes are five-dimensional objects, with the event horizon extending to the extra dimen…
We calculate the gray-body factors for scalar, vector and graviton fields in the background of an exact black hole localized on a tensional 3-brane in a world with two large extra dimensions. Finite brane tension modifies the standard results for the case with of a black hole on a brane with negligible tension. For a black hole of a fixed mass, the power carried away into the bulk diminishes as the tension increases, because the effective Planck constant, and therefore entropy of a fixed mass black hole, increase. In this limit, the semiclassical description of black hole decay becomes more re…
In this review, we summarize current understandings of black hole solutions in various braneworld models, including the Arkani-Hamed-Dimopoulos-Dvali model, the Randall-Sundrum (RS) models, the Karch-Randall (KR) model and the Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati model. After illustrating basic properties of each braneworld model, we introduce the bulk/brane correspondence in the RS and KR braneworld models, adding supporting evidence for it. We then summarize the studies on braneworld black hole solutions, which consist of constructing exact or approximate solutions and investigating the phase diagram of …
It has recently been demonstrated that certain types of non-tensional stress-energy can live on tensional codimension-2 branes, including gravitational shockwaves and small Schwarzschild black holes. In this note we generalize the earlier Schwarzschild results, and construct the exact gravitational fields of small rotating black holes on a codimension-2 brane. We focus on the phenomenologically interesting case of a three-brane embedded in a spacetime with two compactified extra dimensions. For a nonzero tension on the brane, we verify that these solutions also show the ``lightning rod'' effec…
The entropy of the Reissner-Nördstrom black hole is studied within the context of a brane-world scenario. Such a black hole is a solution of the Einstein field equations on the brane, possessing a tidal charge which is a reflection of the extra dimension. We use the modified dispersion relation to obtain the entropy of such brane-world black holes. The resulting entropy differs from that of the standard Bekenstein-Hawking's and contains information on the extra dimension.
We discuss the asymptotic properties of quantum states density for fundamental (super) membrane in the semiclassical approach. The matching of BPS part of spectrum for superstring and supermembrane gives the possibility to get stringy results via membrane calculations and vice versa. The brane-black hole correspondence (on the level of black hole states and brane microstates) is also studied.
By using the quantum tunneling approach over semiclassical approximations, we study the quantum corrections to the Hawking temperature, entropy and Bekenstein-Hawking entropy-area relation for a black hole lying on a brane.
We study the absorption probability and Hawking radiation of the scalar field in the rotating black holes on codimension-2 branes. We find that finite brane tension modifies the standard results in Hawking radiation if compared with the case when brane tension is completely negligible. We observe that the rotation of the black hole brings richer physics. Nonzero angular momentum triggers the super-radiance which becomes stronger when the angular momentum increases. We also find that rotations along different angles influence the result in absorption probability and Hawking radiation. Compared …
In this paper, we study the acoustic black hole emerged from the nonextremal black D3-brane, based on the holographic approaches in constructing the acoustic black hole in asymptotically Anti de-Sitter spacetime (AAdS) and the effective hydrodynamic description of the nonextremal black D3-brane. We show that the holographic dual description of the acoustic black hole appeared on the timelike cutoff surface in the nonextremal black D3-brane also exist. The duality includes the dynamical connection between the acoustic black hole and the bulk gravity, a universal equation relating the Hawking-li…
We calculate the quasi-normal modes of black holes localized on a 3-brane of finite tension embedded in six-dimensional flat spacetime. Using the WKB approximation, we obtain the frequencies of various types of perturbation both analytically and numerically for arbitrary brane tension. We thus extend earlier analytical results which were derived for a brane of small tension.
We explore the possibility to locate a brane in black hole bulks. We study explicitly the cases of BHTZ and Schwarzschild-anti de Sitter (AdS) black holes. Our result is that in these cases branes cannot be supported by brane tension alone and it is necessary to introduce other forms of matter on the brane. We find classes of perfect fluid solutions obeying to peculiar state equations. For the case of BHTZ bulk geometry the state equation takes exactly the form of a ``Chaplygin gas'', which is relevant in the brane context. In the Schwarzschild-AdS case we find new state equations which reduce…
In models with large extra dimensions particle collisions with center-of-mass energy larger than the fundamental gravitational scale can generate non-perturbative gravitational objects such as black holes and branes. The formation and the subsequent decay of these super-Planckian objects would be detectable in particle colliders and high energy cosmic ray detectors, and have interesting implications in cosmology and astrophysics. In this paper we present a review of black hole and brane production in TeV-scale gravity.
Static configurations and a dynamical evolution of the system composed of a higher-dimensional spherically symmetric dilaton black hole and the Dirac-Goto-Nambu brane were investigated. The studies were conducted for three values of the dilaton coupling constant, describing the uncoupled case, the low-energy limit of the string theory and dimensionally reduced Klein-Kaluza theories. When the black hole is nonextremal, two types of static configurations are observed, a brane which intersects the black hole horizon and a brane not having any common points with the accompanying black hole. As the…
We revisit the 4D generalized black hole geometries, obtained by us [1], with a renewed interest, to unfold some aspects of effective gravity in a noncommutative D3-brane formalism. In particular, we argue for the existence of extra dimensions in the gravity decoupling limit in the theory. We show that the theory is rather described by an ordinary geometry and is governed by an effective string theory in 5D. The extremal black hole geometry $AdS_5$ obtained in effective string theory is shown to be in precise agreement with the gravity dual proposed for D3-brane in a constant magnetic field. K…
We study the interaction of an n-dimensional topological defect (n-brane) described by the Nambu-Goto action with a higher-dimensional Schwarzschild black hole moving in the bulk spacetime. We derive the general form of the perturbation equations for an n-brane in the weak field approximation and solve them analytically in the most interesting cases. We specially analyze applications to brane world models. We calculate the induced geometry on the brane generated by a moving black hole. From the point of view of a brane observer, this geometry can be obtained by solving (n+1)-dimensional Einste…
We derive exact gravitational fields of a black hole and a relativistic particle stuck on a codimension-2 brane in $D$ dimensions when gravity is ruled by the bulk $D$-dimensional Einstein-Hilbert action. The black hole is locally the higher-dimensional Schwarzschild solution, which is threaded by a tensional brane yielding a deficit angle and includes the first explicit example of a `small' black hole on a tensional 3-brane. The shockwaves allow us to study the large distance limits of gravity on codimension-2 branes. In an infinite locally flat bulk, they extinguish as $1/r^{D-4}$, i.e. as $…
In this paper, we use the strong field limit approach to investigate the gravitational lensing properties of braneworld black holes. Applying this method to the supermassive black hole at the centre of our galaxy, the lensing observables for some candidate braneworld black hole metrics are compared with those for the standard Schwarzschild case. It is found that braneworld black holes could have significantly different observational signatures to the Schwarzschild black hole.
Intersecting M-branes are known to describe multi charged black holes. Using a configuration of such intersecting branes and antibranes, together with massless excitations living on them, we give a description of Schwarzschild black holes following Danielsson, Guijosa, and Kruczenski. We calculate the entropy of these black holes and find that it agrees, upto a numerical factor, with the entropy of the corresponding Schwarzschild black holes in supergravity approximation. We give an empirical interpretation of this factor.
We consider the evolution of primordial black holes formed during the high energy phase of the braneworld scenario. We show that the effect of accretion from the surrounding radiation bath is dominant compared to evaporation for such black holes. This feature lasts till the onset of matter (or black hole) domination of the total energy density which could occur either in the high energy phase or later. We find that the black hole evaporation times could be significantly large even for black holes with small initial mass to survive till several cosmologically interesting eras.
The semiclassical grey-body factor for massless fermion emission from the four dimensional black hole described by an ensemble of intersecting triplets of D- five-branes is shown to be consistent with the (statistical) decay rate of the branes (in the `long' D-string approximation) into massless fermionic closed string states, subject to assumptions regarding the energy distribution of colliding open string states.
In our previous study [1] (1311.6540), we figured out that the thermodynamics of the near extremal black $p$-branes can be explained as the collective motions of gravitationally interacting elementary $p$-branes (the $p$-soup proposal). We test this proposal in the near-extremal D1-D5 and D1-D5-P black holes and show that their thermodynamics also can be explained in a similar fashion, i.e. via the collective motions of the interacting elementary D1-branes and D5-branes (and waves). It may imply that the microscopic origins of these intersecting black branes and the black $p$-brane are explain…
We present the first numerical study of the full dynamics of a braneworld scenario, working within the framework of the single brane model of Randall and Sundrum (RSII). In particular, we study the process of gravitational collapse driven by a massless scalar field which is confined to the brane. Imposing spherical symmetry on the brane, we show that the evolutions of sufficiently strong initial configurations of the scalar field result in black holes that have finite extension into the bulk. Furthermore, we find preliminary evidence that the black holes generated form a unique sequence, irres…
Application of the adS/CFT correspondence to the RS models may predict that there is no static solution for black holes with a radius larger than the bulk curvature scale. When the black hole has an extremal horizon, however, the correspondence suggests that the black hole can stay static. We focus on the effects of cosmological constant on the brane on such extremal brane-localized black holes. We observe that the positive cosmological constant restrict the black hole size on the brane as in ordinary four-dimensional general relativity. The maximum black hole size differs from that in four-di…
The present works complements and expands a previous one, focused on the emission of scalar fields by a (4+n)-dimensional rotating black hole on the brane, by studying the emission of gauge fields on the brane from a similar black hole. A comprehensive analysis of the particle, energy and angular momentum emission rates is undertaken, for arbitrary angular momentum of the black hole and dimensionality of spacetime. Our analysis reveals the existence of a number of distinct features associated with the emission of spin-1 fields from a rotating black hole on the brane, such as the behaviour and …
It is shown that, in contrast to the case of extreme 4d dilatonic black holes, 4d neutral dilatonic black holes with horizon singularities can not be interpreted as nonsingular nondilatonic black p-branes in (4+p) dimensions, regardless of the number of extra dimensions p. That is, extra dimensions do not remove naked singularities of 4d neutral dilatonic black holes.
Recently, some authors have considered the quantum spectrum of black holes . This consideration is extended to tachyonic black holes in a brane-anti-brane system. In this study, black holes are constructed from two branes which are connected by a tachyonic tube. As the branes come closer to each other, they evolve and make a transition to thermal black branes. It will be shown that the spectrum of these black holes depends on the tachonic potential and the separation distance between the branes. By decreasing the separation distance, more energy emerges and the spectrum of the black hole incre…
Here we derive the exact Reissner-Nordström black hole solution on a tensional codimension-2 brane, generalizing earlier Schwarzschild and Kerr results. We begin by briefly reviewing various aspects of codimension-2 branes that will be important for our analysis, including the mechanism of "offloading" of brane tension into the bulk that is unique to these branes, as well as the explicit construction of the codimension-2 Schwarzschild black hole as a warm-up exercise. We then show that the same methods can be used to find the metric describing the spacetime surrounding an electrically-charged …
We investigate the analogue of the Randall-Sundrum brane-world in the case when the bulk contains a black hole. Instead of the static vacuum Minkowski brane of the RS model, we have an Einstein static vacuum brane. We find that the presence of the bulk black hole has a dramatic effect on the gravity that is felt by brane observers. In the RS model, the 5D graviton has a stable localized zero-mode that reproduces 4D gravity on the brane at low energies. With a bulk black hole, there is no such solution -- gravity is delocalized by the 5D horizon. However, the brane does support a discrete spect…
We develop the quasi-particle picture for Schwarzchild and far from extremal black holes. We show that the thermalization equations of the black hole is recovered from the model of branes and anti-branes. This can also be viewed as a field theory explanation of the relationship between area and entropy for these black holes. As a by product the annihilation rate of branes and anti-branes is computed.
A review of recent progress in string theory concerning the Bekenstein formula for black hole entropy is given. Topics discussed include p-branes, D-branes and supersymmetry; the correspondence principle; the D- and M-brane approach to black hole entropy; the D-brane analogue of Hawking radiation, and information loss; D-branes as probes of black holes; and the Matrix theory approach to charged and neutral black holes. Some introductory material is included.
We investigate a method to evaluate quasi-normal modes of D3-brane black holes by wave interpretation of fields on D3-brane based on the Feynman's space-time approach. We perturbatively solve the wave equation which describes propagation of a dilaton wave in a bulk space and its interaction with the D3-brane. The obtained condition for the quasi-normal modes are qualitatively equivalent to that evaluated in the usual scattering of the dilaton in the black 3-brane spacetime in the corresponding supergravity description.
In this paper, we consider two brane-world black holes whose solutions are obtained via a confining potential and study their thermodynamical properties. The modified entropies by taking account of the generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) are obtained. We also determine the scalar effective potentials in order to compute the greybody factors of zero-spin particles (bosons) for both geometries. Finally, using the sixth-order WKB approach, quasi-normal modes (QNMs), which are also known as black hole fingerprints, are derived concerning the brane-world black hole parameters. The results obtai…
The scalar scattering cross section is computed for Schwarzschild-Tangherlini black holes on the brane. The cross sections are computed numerically via the partial-wave method. The phase shifts are found numerically and also via the Born approximation. It is shown that spacetimes with more than six dimensions present a finite scattering cross section in all directions.
We address the delocalization of low dimensional D-branes and NS-branes when they are a part of a higher dimensional BPS black brane, and the homogeneity of the resulting horizon. We show that the effective delocalization of such branes is a classical effect that occurs when localized branes are brought together. Thus, the fact that the few known solutions with inhomogeneous horizons are highly singular need not indicate a singularity of generic D- and NS-brane states. Rather, these singular solutions are likely to be unphysical as they cannot be constructed from localized branes which are bro…
The system of extended objects interplaying with a black hole describes or mimics various gravitational phenomena. In this brief paper, we report the results of stability analysis of codimension-one Dirac-Nambu-Goto branes rest at the equatorial plane of $d$-dimensional spherical black holes, including the Schwarzschild and Schwarzschild-(anti-)de Sitter black holes. For the Schwarzschild and Schwarzschild-anti-de Sitter backgrounds the stability of branes is shown analytically by means of a deformation technique. In contrast, for the Schwarzschild-de Sitter background we demonstrate with the …
We find an exact solution on the brane for static black hole in the DGP model. In the appropriate limit we recover the 2 known solutions, the Schwarzschild and the Reissner-Nordstrom solutions with tidal charge. The solution has 2 branches, which correspond asymptotically to de-Sitter or flat Universe. Also we study the linear stability of the solutions. We find that the Regge-Wheeler and the Zerilli potential are positive. Finally the dipole perturbation is derived which corresponds to a linearization of a rotating black hole solution on the brane.
We describe a concise general scheme for constructing solutions of Einstein-Maxwell-Kalb-Ramond gravity-matter system in bulk space-time interacting self-consistently with one or more (widely separated) codimension-one electrically charged lightlike branes. The lightlike brane dynamics is explicitly given by manifestly reparametrization invariant world-volume actions. We present several explicit classes of solutions with different physical interpretation as wormhole-like space-times with one, two or more "throats", singularity-free black holes, brane worlds and space-times undergoing a sequenc…
