Quantum Hadrodynamics provides a useful framework for investigating dense matter, yet it breaks down easily when strangeness carrying baryons are introduced into the calculations, as the baryon effective masses become negative due to large meson field potentials. The Quark-Meson Coupling model overcomes this issue by incorporating the quark structure of the nucleon, thus allowing for a feedback between the the nuclei and the interaction with the meson fields. With the inclusion of this feature, QMC provides a successful description of finite nuclei and nuclear matter. We present the latest parameterization of QMC and discuss the predictions for dense nuclear matter and `neutron' stars.
We analyze quark-mass and $1/N_c$ corrections to all of the radiative transitions between the vector-meson nonet and the pseudoscalar-meson nonet within a chiral effective Lagrangian approach. We perform fits of the available coupling constants to experimental data and discuss the corresponding approximations. In terms of five (six) coupling constants, we obtain a reasonably good description of the 12 experimental decay rates.
A symmetry-preserving treatment of mesons, within a Dyson-Schwinger and Bethe-Salpeter equations approach, demands an interconnection between the kernels of the quark gap equation and meson Bethe-Salpeter equation. Appealing to those symmetries expressed by the vector and axial-vector Ward-Green-Takahashi identitiges (WGTI), we construct a two-body Bethe-Salpeter kernel and study its implications in the vector channel; particularly, we analyze the structure of the quark-photon vertex, which explicitly develops a vector meson pole in the timelike axis and the quark anomlaous magnetic moment ter…
We have computed shear viscosity coefficient for hot and dense QCD matter within Polyakov loop extended quark meson(PQM) model for three flavors. Viscosity coefficient is estimated using Boltzmann equation within the relaxation time approximation. Relaxation times for quarks are calculated from elastic scattering of quarks and antiquarks via gluon exchange. Also the mean free paths of strange and light quarks are estimated for this cases. The calculations are performed at finite chemical potential. Thermodynamic properties like energy, pressure, entropy densities are also computed and compared…
Unusual constituent quark axial current couplings to light vector mesons, $ρ$ and $ω$, are derived in the vacuum and under weak magnetic field by considering a quark-antiquark interaction mediated by a non perturbative gluon exchange. Similarly, light axial mesons are found to couple anomalously with the constituent quark vector current. These interactions are of the type of the Wess-Zumino-Witten terms, being strongly anisotropic and dependent on the vector (or axial) meson polarization. They also provide axial (vector) form factors for the vector (axial) mesons and are quite small, suppresse…
In order to investigate the tomographical structure of light pseudoscalar mesons, particularly, pion and kaon, we study the valence quark distribution function (PDF) and the generalized parton distributions (GPDs) using light-cone quark model (LCQM).
The calculation of the partial width of the rare t-quark decay into Upsilon-meson, W-boson and b-quark (t -> ΥW b) is presented. The branching ratio equals Br(t -> Upsilon W b) = 1.3 * 10^{-5} that make possible searches for this rare $t$-quark decay at LHC.
Smooth transitions from hadronic matter to hot and dense matter of quantum chromodynamics accompany continuous transformations in effective degrees of freedom. The microscopic descriptions should include relativistic quarks interacting inside of hadrons. In this work we construct a schematic constituent quark model with relativistic kinematics which captures the global trends of meson spectra in the light, strange, and charm quark sectors. We examine the roles of the scalar- and vector-confining potentials as well as semishort range correlations in estimating the strength of central, spin-spin…
