Dark matter candidates with electromagnetic dipole moments can arise as dark baryons in gauge-mediated or technicolor models. These dark matter candidates interact with nuclei in direct detection experiments mainly through magnetic and/or electric dipole moments. The scattering cross sections depend on the nuclear magnetic moments and nuclear charge and have an infrared enhancement compared with typical WIMP constant contact interactions, leading to distinctive nuclear recoil energy spectra. These characteristics result in an enhanced signal for the DAMA experiment compared with the CDMS or XENON experiments. The positive results of DAMA, along with the null results of CDMS and XENON, are consistent with a dark matter particle with magnetic dipole moment and a mass around ten GeV. Significant direct detection signals can arise from dipolar dark matter with mass up to of order tens of TeV.
The Hamiltonian of relativistic particles with electric and magnetic dipole moments that interact with an electromagnetic field is determined in the Foldy-Wouthuysen representation. Transition to the semiclassical approximation is carried out. The quantum-mechanical and semiclassical equations of spin motion are derived.
We perform a systematic study of the electric and magnetic dipole moments of dark matter (DM) that are induced at the one-loop level when DM experiences four-fermion interactions with Standard Model (SM) charged fermions. Related to their loop nature these moments can largely depend on the UV completion at the origin of the four-fermion operators. We illustrate this property by considering explicitly two simple ways to generate these operators, from $t$- or $s$-channel tree-level exchange. Fixing the strength of these interactions from the DM relic density constraint, we obtain in particular a…
We extend existing calculations of the electromagnetic dipole operator contribution to the total decay rate and the photon energy spectrum of the decay \bar{B} -> X_sγat O(α_s^2) by working out the exact dependence on the charm quark mass.
The production of a single top quark in association with an isolated photon probes the electromagnetic coupling structure of the top quark. We investigate the sensitivity of kinematical distributions at the LHC in single-top-plus-photon production in view of a detection of anomalous electric and magnetic dipole moments of the top quark.
Using electroweak data and an effective Lagrangian approach we obtain stringent bounds on the tau anomalous magnetic moment, $-0.004 \leq a_τ\leq 0.006$, and on its electric dipole moment, $|d_τ| \leq 1.1 \times 10^{-17} e$ cm. This significantly improves our previous bounds. With the same method, we obtain limits on the dipole moments of other fermions.
A neutral dark matter particle may possess an electric dipole moment (EDM) or a magnetic dipole moment (MDM), so that its scattering with nuclei is governed by electromagnetic interactions. If the moments are associated with relevant operators of dimension-5, they may be detectable in direct search experiments. We calculate complete expressions of the scattering cross sections and the recoil energy spectra for dark matter with these attributes. We also provide useful formulae pertinent to dark matter that interacts via an electric charge form factor (CFF) which is related to the charge radius …
Spin rotation of $Ω^{\pm}$ baryons channeling in a bent crystal at the LHC in addition to EDM measurement open possibility to study $Ω^{\pm}$ baryons electric quadrupole moment. Equations for spin and tensor polarization rotation are presented along with the estimations study for values of the effects under discussion.
From the total cross section for the reaction $e^+e^-\to τ^+τ^-γ$ at the $Z_1$ pole and in the framework of a simplest little Higgs model (SLHM), we get a limit on the characteristic energy scale of the model $f$, $f \geq 5.4$ $TeV$, which in turn induces bounds on the electromagnetic and weak dipole moments of the tau-lepton. Our bounds on the electromagnetic moments are consistent with the bounds obtained by the L3 and OPAL collaborations for the reaction $e^+e^-\to τ^+τ^-γ$. We also obtained bounds on the tau weak dipole moments which are consistent with the bounds obtained recently by the …
Experiments with $Ω^{\pm}$ baryons moving in a crystal at LHC in addition to EDM measurement open possibility to study electric quadrupole moment, to observe birefringence effect (spin oscillations and spin dichroism) for $Ω^{\pm}$ baryons and to get information about constants describing P-odd, T-odd effects at $Ω^{\pm}$ baryon interactions with electrons and nuclei
In a simple extension of the standard electroweak theory where the phenomenon of lepton flavor mixing is described by a 3x3 unitary matrix V, the electric and magnetic dipole moments of three active neutrinos are suppressed not only by their tiny masses but also by the Glashow-Iliopoulos-Maiani (GIM) mechanism. We show that it is possible to lift the GIM suppression if the canonical seesaw mechanism of neutrino mass generation, which allows V to be slightly non-unitary, is taken into account. In view of current experimental constraints on the non-unitarity of V, we find that the effective elec…
We present an independent calculation of that part of the O(α_s^2) contribution to the decay width Γ(\bar B -> X_s γ) which arises from the self-interference term of the electromagnetic dipole operator O_7. Using a different method, we find complete agreement with a previous calculation. This NNLL contribution is an important ingredient for the complete NNLL prediction of Γ(\bar B -> X_s γ) which will resolve the charm quark mass ambiguity appearing at NLL accuracy.
Supersymmetric contributions to all leptonic electromagnetic dipole operators have essentially identical diagramatic structure. With approximate slepton universality this allows the muon anomalous magnetic moment to be related to the electron electric dipole moment in terms of supersymmetric phases, and to radiative flavor changing lepton decays in terms of small violations of slepton universality. If the current discrepancy between the measured and Standard Model values of the muon anomalous magnetic moment is due to supersymmetry, the current bound on the electron electric dipole moment then…
We investigate the production of photons from coherently oscillating, spatially localized clumps of axionic fields (oscillons and axion stars) in the presence of external electromagnetic fields. We delineate different qualitative behaviour of the photon luminosity in terms of an effective dimensionless coupling parameter constructed out of the axion-photon coupling, and field amplitude, oscillation frequency and radius of the axion star. For small values of this dimensionless coupling, we provide a general analytic formula for the dipole radiation field and the photon luminosity per solid angl…
Starting with the VMD parametrization of the electric and magnetic nucleon form factors, which are saturated just by the ground state vector-mesons rho, omega and phi, then aplying the strict OZI rule and the asymptotic behaviour of form factors as predicted by quark model of hadrons, the famous one parameter dipole formula is derived. By its comparison with space-like data up to t = -5 GeV^2 the most optimal value of the parameter under consideration is determined. Finaly, charge and magnetization distributions in proton and neutron are predicted.
The electromagnetic dipole moments of the tau lepton and the chromoelectromagnetic dipole moments of the top quark are estimated via flavor-changing neutral currents, mediated by a new neutral massive gauge boson. We predict them in the context of models beyond the Standard Model with extended current sectors, in which simple analytic expressions for the dipole moments are presented. For the different $Z^\prime$ gauge boson considered, the best prediction for the magnetic dipole moment of the tau lepton, $|a_τ|$, is of the order of $10^{-8}$, while the highest value for the electric one, $|d_τ…
We obtain limits on the electromagnetic and weak dipole moments of the tau-lepton in the framework of a Left-Right symmetric model (LRSM) and a class of $E_6$ inspired models with an additional neutral vector boson $Z_θ$. Using as an input the data obtained by the L3 and OPAL Collaborations for the reaction $e^+e^-\to τ^+τ^-γ$, we get a stringent limit on the LRSM mixing angle $ϕ$, $-1.66\times 10^{-3}< ϕ<1.22\times 10^{-3}$, which in turn induces bounds on the tau weak dipole moments which are consistent with the bounds obtained recently by the DELPHI and ALEPH Collaborations from the reactio…
In this paper we discuss the possibility of measuring the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the $τ$ lepton. The method consists in studying the spin precession induced by the strong effective magnetic field inside channels of a bent crystal with a dedicated setup at the CERN Large Hadron Collider.
We consider dark matter which have non-zero electromagnetic form factors like electric/magnetic dipole moments and anapole moment for fermionic dark matter and Rayleigh form factor for scalar dark matter. We consider dark matter mass $m_χ> \cal{ O}({\rm MeV})$ and put constraints on their mass and electromagnetic couplings from CMB and LSS observations. Fermionic dark matter with non-zero electromagnetic form factors can annihilate to $e^+ e^-$ and scalar dark matter can annihilate to $2γ$ at the time of recombination and distort the CMB. We analyze dark matter with multipole moments with Plan…
The pure annihilation type decays $B^0_d\toϕγ$ and $B_s\toργ$ receive only color suppressed penguin contributions with a very small branching ratio in the standard model. When we include the previously neglected electromagnetic dipole operator, the branching ratios can be enhanced one order magnitude larger than previous study using QCD factorization approach. That is ${\cal BR}(\bar B^0_d\toϕγ)\simeq 1 \times 10^{-11}$ and ${\cal BR}(B_s\toργ) \sim (6-16)\times 10^{-10}$. The new effect can also give a large contribution, of order $10^{-9}$, to transverse polarization of $B\toϕρ$ and $B\to ωϕ…
Recent measurements like the t tbar gamma production by CDF as well as the Br(B ->Xs gamma) and ACP (B->Xs gamma) are used to constrain the magnetic and electric dipole moments of the top quark. The B->Xs gamma measurements by themselves define an allowed parameter region that sets up stringent constraints on both dipole moments. Actually, significantly more stringent than previously reported. The measurement by CDF has a 37% error that is too large to set any competitive bounds, for which a much lower 5% error would be required at least. On the other hand, because of the LHC's higher energy (…
We construct a factorization theorem that allows to systematically include QCD corrections to the contribution of the electromagnetic dipole operator in the effective weak Hamiltonian to the $\bar B_s \to μ^+μ^-$ decay amplitude. We first rederive the known result for the leading-order QED box diagram, which features a double-logarithmic enhancement associated to the different rapidities of the light quark in the $\bar B_s$ meson and the energetic muons in the final state. We provide a detailed analysis of the cancellation of the related endpoint divergences appearing in individual momentum re…
In this paper, using the Bestest Little Higgs Model (BLHM) we calculate at the one-loop level the contributions to the Anomalous Magnetic Dipole Moment (AMDM) and Anomalous Weak Magnetic Dipole Moment (AWMDM) of the tau-lepton. The implications from this model are study, emphasizing the contributions of the new physics induced by the new scalar and vector bosons of the BLHM: $S_i=H_0, A_0, ϕ^{0}, η^{0}, σ, H^{\pm}, ϕ^{\pm}, η^{\pm}$, and $V_i=Z', W'$, because these quantify the new physics. With these new contributions we estimated bounds on both the real and imaginary parts of the AMDM and AW…
The magnetic dipole G_M(Q^2), electric quadrupole G_E(Q^2), and Coulomb quadrupole G_C(Q^2) form factors, describing the spin-3/2 to spin-1/2 electromagnetic transitions, are investigated within the light cone QCD sum rules. The Q^2 dependence of these form factors, as well as ratios of electric quadrupole and Coulomb quadrupole form factors to the magnetic dipole form factors are studied. We also compare our results on the magnetic dipole form factor with the prediction of the covariant spectator quark model.
In recent years, a revised set of solar abundances has led to a discrepancy in the sound-speed profile between helioseismology and theoretical solar models. Conventional solutions require additional mechanisms for energy transport within the Sun. Vincent et al. have recently suggested that dark matter with a momentum or velocity dependent cross section could provide a solution. In this work, we consider three models of dark matter with such cross sections and their effect on the stellar structure. In particular, the three models incorporate dark matter particles interacting through an electrom…
We propose a unique program of measurements of electric and magnetic dipole moments of charm, beauty and strange charged baryons at the LHC, based on the phenomenon of spin precession of channeled particles in bent crystals. Studies of crystal channeling and spin precession of positively- and negatively-charged particles are presented, along with feasibility studies and expected sensitivities for the proposed experiment using a layout based on the LHCb detector.
We study the nucleon electromagnetic form factors in a quark-gluon core model framework, which can be viewed as an extension of the Isgur-Karl model of baryons. Using this picture we derive nucleon electromagnetic dipole form factors at low Q^2 and the deviation from the dipole form at high Q^2, that are consistent with the existing experimental data.
We establish model independent bounds on the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau-lepton using the two-photon processes $γγ\to τ^+τ^-$ and $γγ\to τ^+τ^-γ$. We use ${\cal L}=10, 50, 100, 300, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000 \hspace{0.8mm}fb^{-1}$ of data collected with the future $e^+e^-$ linear collider such as the CLIC at $\sqrt{s}=380, 1500, 3000 \hspace{0.8mm}GeV$ and we consider systematic uncertainties of $δ_{sys}=0, 3, 5\hspace{1mm}\%$. Precise bounds at $95\%$ C. L. on the anomalous dipole moments to the tau-lepton $-0.00015\leq \tilde{a}_τ\leq 0.00017$ and $|\tilde{d}_…
The determination of the electromagnetic dipole moments of the top quark is one of the most important goals of the top quark physics program in the collider experiments. For this reason, the top quark pair production to investigate the sensitivity on the electric and magnetic dipole moments of the top quark via the process $pp\rightarrow p γp \rightarrow p t \bar{t} X$ at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) and High-Energy Large Hadron Collider (HE-LHC) is discussed. We apply pure leptonic and semileptonic decays for top quark pair production in …
We realize a phenomenological study to examine the sensitivity on the magnetic moment and electric dipole moment of the top quark through the processes $γγ\rightarrow t \bar{t}$, $e γ\rightarrow e γ^{*} γ\rightarrow e t \bar{t}$ and $e^{-} e^{+}\rightarrow e^{-} γ^{*} γ^{*} e^{+} \rightarrow e^{-} t \bar{t}e^{+}$ at the CLIC. We find that with a center-of-mass energy of the CLIC-1.4$\hspace{0.8mm}TeV$, integrated luminosity of ${\cal L}=1500\hspace{0.8mm}fb^{-1}$ and CLIC-3$\hspace{1mm}TeV$, integrated luminosity of ${\cal L}=2000\hspace{0.8mm}fb^{-1}$ with systematic uncertainties of $δ_{sys}…
We conduce a study to probe the sensitivity of the process $e^+e^-\rightarrow (γ, Z) \to ν_τ\bar ν_τγ$ to the total cross section, the magnetic moment and the electric dipole moment of the tau-neutrino in a model-independent way. For this study, the beam polarization facility at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) along with the typical center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}=380-3000\hspace{0.8mm}GeV$ and integrated luminosities ${\cal L}=10-3000\hspace{0.8mm}fb^{-1}$ is considered. We estimate the sensitivity at the $95\%\hspace{1mm}$ Confidence Level (C.L.) and systematic uncertainties $δ_{sys}=0,…
We construct the propagator for a free fermionic unparticle field from basic considerations of scale and Lorentz invariance. The propagator is fixed up to a normalization factor which is required to recover the result of a free massless fermion field in the canonical limit of the scaling dimension. Two new features appear compared to the bosonic case. The propagator contains both γand non-γterms, and there is a relative phase of π/2 between the two in the time-like regime for arbitrary scaling dimension. This should result in additional interference effects on top of the one known in the boson…
In this work we study the sensitivity on the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the tau-neutrino in the framework of the $SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y\times U(1)_{B-L}$ electroweak model at future $e^+e^-$ linear colliders as the ILC and CLIC. For our study we consider the process $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow ( Z, Z', γ) \to ν_τ\bar ν_τγ$. For center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=1000-3000\hspace{0.8mm}GeV$ and integrated luminosities of ${\cal L}=500-2000\hspace{0.8mm}fb^{-1}$, we derive $95 \% \hspace{1mm}$ C.L. limits on the dipole moments $|μ_{ν_τ}(μ_B)| \leq 6.28 \times 10^{-9}$ and $|d_…
We obtain bounds on the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the $t$-quark from a future high-energy and high-luminosity linear electron positron collider, such as the CLIC, with unpolarized and polarized electron beams which are a powerful tool to determine new physics. We consider the processes $γe^- \to \bar t bν_e$ ($γ$ is the Compton backscattering photon) and $e^+e^- \to e^-γ^* e^+ \to \bar t bν_e e^+$ ($γ^*$ is the Weizsacker-Williams photon) which are one of the most important sources of single top quark production. For the systematic uncertainties of $δ_{sys}=0\%,\hspace{…
A particle, which moves in a crystal, experiences weak interactions with electrons and nuclei alongside with electromagnetic interaction. Measuring the polarization vector and the angular distribution of charged and neutral particles scattered by axes (planes) of an unbent (straight) crystal enables to obtain restrictions for the EDM value and for {magnitudes} of constants describing T-odd (CP-odd) interactions Beyond the Standard Model. Spin rotation and polarization conversion from vector to tensor one and vice versa for a channelled in a crystal $Ω^{\pm}$ hyperon enable measuring hyperon's …
A possible resolution to the question of where the nucleon gets some portion of its internal angular momentum, not carried by the valence quarks, is given in terms of the electromagnetic field angular momentum of the nucleon. This field angular momentum is similiar in origin to that of the Thomson dipole (an electric charge and a magnetic monopole), but arises from the interaction of the quark electric charges and magnetic dipoles. Rough, order of magnitude calculations show that such a field angular momentum could provide some of the nucleon's spin. Under certain assumptions QCD should also e…
The flavor-changing electromagnetic dipole operator O_7 gives the dominant contribution to the B -> Xs gamma decay rate. We calculate two-loop QCD corrections to its matrix element together with the corresponding bremsstrahlung contributions. The optical theorem is applied, and the relevant imaginary parts of three-loop diagrams are computed following the lines of our recent t -> Xb W calculation. The complete result allows us to test the validity of the naive non-abelianization (NNA) approximation that has been previously applied to estimate the NNLO QCD correction to Gamma(B -> Xs gamma)/Gam…
We examine a new class of CPT-even and dimension-five nonminimal interactions between fermions and photons, deprived of higher-order derivatives, yielding electric dipole moment and magnetic dipole moment in the context of the Dirac equation. These couplings are Lorentz-violating nonminimal structures, composed of a rank-2 tensor, the electromagnetic tensor, and gamma matrices, being addressed in its axial and non-axial hermitian versions. We use the electron's anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moment measurements to reach upper bounds of $1$ part in $10^{11}$ and $10^{16}$ GeV$^{-1}$.
We study the dipole moments, electric dipole moment, weak electric dipole moment, anomalous magnetic moment, anomalous weak magnetic moment, of fermions in the noncommutative extension of the SM. We observe that the noncommutative effects are among the possible candidates to explain the electric and weak electric dipole moment of fermions. Furthermore, the upper bounds for the parameters which carry space-time and space-space noncommutativity can be obtained by using the theoretical and experimental results of the fermion dipole moments.
We study the toroidal dipole moment of the lightest neutralino in the constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. The toroidal dipole moment is the only electromagnetic property of the neutralino. Since the neutralino is the LSP in many versions of the MSSM and therefore a candidate for dark matter, its characterization through its electromagnetic properties is important both for particle physics and for cosmology. We perform a scan in the parameter space of the cMSSM and find that the toroidal dipole moment is different from zero, albeit very small, in all the parameter space, and reac…
By providing a suitable definition of the electromagnetic field off the Higgs vacuum, we show that within the sphaleron there is a monopole-antimonopole pair with quantized charges, and a loop of electromagnetic current. On integration of the relevant charges and currents over the interior in the limit of small $Θ_W$, we recover the standard formula for the sphaleron dipole moment.
In this paper, we study the production of a top-quark in association with a bottom-quark and a electron-neutrino at the Future Circular Collider Hadron Electron (FCC-he) to probe the sensitivity on its magnetic moment $(\hat a_V)$ and its electromagnetic dipole moment $(\hat a_A)$ through the process $e^-p \to e^-γp \to \bar t ν_e b p$. Assuming a large amount of collisions, as well as of data with cleaner environments, the FCC-he is an excellent option to study new physics, such as the $\hat a_V$ and $\hat a_A$. For our sensitivity study on $\hat a_V$ and $\hat a_A$, we consider center-of-mas…
Vacuum instability of the strong electromagnetic field has been discussed since long time ago. The instability of the strong electric field due to creation of electron pairs is one of the examples, which is known as Schwinger process. What matters are the coupling of particles to the electromagnetic field and the mass of the particle to be produced. The critical electric field for electrons in the minimal coupling is ~ m^2/e . Spin 1/2 neutral particles but with magnetic dipole moments can interact with the electromagnetic field through Pauli coupling. The instability of the particular vacuum …
The matrix, 8-component Dirac-like form of P-odd equations for boson fields of spins 1 and 0 are obtained and the GL(2,c) symmetry group of equations is derived. We found exact solutions of the field equation for vector particles with arbitrary electric and magnetic moments in external constant and uniform electromagnetic fields. The differential probability of pair production of vector particles with the EDM and AMM by an external constant and uniform electromagnetic field has been found using the exact solutions. We have calculated the imaginary and real parts of the electromagnetic field La…
The electromagnetic E1 and M1 transitions in heavy quarkonia ($c\bar c$, $b\bar b$, $c\bar b$) and the magnetic moment of the $B_c^\pm$ are calculated within the framework of the covariant Blankenbecler-Sugar (BSLT) equation. The aim of this paper is to study the effects of two-quark exchange current operators which involve the $Q\bar Q$ interaction, that arise in the BSLT (or Schrödinger) reduction of the Bethe-Salpeter equation. These are found to be small for E1 dominated decays such as $ψ(nS)\to χ_{cJ} γ$ and $Υ(nS)\to χ_{bJ} γ$, but significant for the M1 dominated transitions. It is show…
We calculate the chromoelectric dipole moment (CEDM) of d- and s-quark in the supersymmetric SO(10) model. CEDM is more efficient than quark electric dipole moment (EDM), in inducing the neutron EDM. New, strict constraints on parameters of the supersymmetric SO(10) model follow in this way from the neutron dipole moment experiments. As strict bounds are derived from the upper limits on the dipole moment of odd isotope of mercury.
We introduce a probabilistic measure of naturalness (naturalness level) to fix naturalness bounds quantitatively. It is applied to the anomalous magnetic moments and the electric dipole moments due to new physics.
We study the the effects of non-universal extra dimensions on the electric dipole moments of fermions in the two Higgs doublet model. We observe that the t quark and b quark electric dipole moments are sensitive to the extra dimensions, however, in the case of charged lepton electric dipole moments, this sensitivity is relatively weak.
Light-cone sum rules are used to investigate the electromagnetic form factors of the $Λ$ and $Σ$ baryons by using the Ioffe type interpolating currents. The sum rules are affected to some extent by the choice of the interpolating currents from a comparison. Numerical calculations show that the magnetic form factor can be well fitted by the dipole formula for $Σ$ but not for $Λ$. The magnetic form factor of $Λ$ approaches zero with the momentum transfer faster than the dipole formula estimation.
The complete set of Higgs-boson two-loop contributions to electric dipole moments of the electron and neutron is calculated in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. The electric dipole moments are induced by CP-violating trilinear couplings of the `CP-odd' and charged Higgs bosons to the scalar top and bottom quarks. Numerical estimates of the individual two-loop contributions to electric dipole moments are given.
We perform the calculation of the nucleon dipole magnetic moment in full detail using the Gordon decomposition of the free quark current. This calculation has become necessary because of frequent misuse of the Gordon decomposition by some authors in computing the nucleon dipole magnetic moment.
We calculate the set of O(α_s) corrections to the double differential decay width dΓ_{77}/(ds_1 \, ds_2) for the process \bar{B} \to X_s γγoriginating from diagrams involving the electromagnetic dipole operator O_7. The kinematical variables s_1 and s_2 are defined as s_i=(p_b - q_i)^2/m_b^2, where p_b, q_1, q_2 are the momenta of b-quark and two photons. While the (renormalized) virtual corrections are worked out exactly for a certain range of s_1 and s_2, we retain in the gluon bremsstrahlung process only the leading power w.r.t. the (normalized) hadronic mass s_3=(p_b-q_1-q_2)^2/m_b^2 in th…
Massive neutrinos are guaranteed to have nonzero electromagnetic moments and, since there are at least three neutrino species, these dipole moments define a matrix. Here, we estimate the current upper bounds on all independent neutrino electromagnetic moments, concentrating on Earth-bound experiments and measurements with solar neutrinos, including the very recent results reported by XENONnT. We make no simplifying assumptions and compare the hypotheses that neutrinos are Majorana fermions or Dirac fermions. In particular, we fully explore constraints in the Dirac-neutrino parameter space. Maj…
Nucleon electric dipole moments originating from strong CP-violation are being calculated by several groups using lattice QCD. We revisit the finite volume corrections to the CP-odd nucleon matrix elements of the electromagnetic current, which can be related to the electric dipole moments in the continuum, in the framework of chiral perturbation theory up to next-to-leading order taking into account the breaking of Lorentz symmetry. A chiral extrapolation of the recent lattice results of both the neutron and proton electric dipole moments is performed, which results in $d_n=(-2.7\pm1.2)\times1…
The connection between a regularization-independent symmetric momentum substraction (RI-$\tilde{\rm S}$MOM) and the $\overline{\rm MS}$ scheme for the quark chromo EDM operators is discussed. A method for evaluating the neutron EDM from quark chromoEDM is described. A preliminary study of the signal in the matrix element using clover quarks on a highly improved staggered quark (HISQ) ensemble is shown.
