We calculate the diamagnetic susceptibility in zero external magnetic field above the phase transition from ferromagnetic phase to phase of coexistence of ferromagnetic order and unconventional superconductivity. For this aim we use generalized Ginzburg-Landau free energy of unconventional ferromagnetic superconductor with spin-triplet electron pairing. A possible application of the result to some intermetallic compounds is briefly discussed.
We study the diamagnetism of the 6-vertex model with the arrows as directed bond currents. To our knowledge, this is the first study of the diamagnetism of this model. A special version of this model, called F model, describes the thermal disordering transition of an orbital antiferromagnet, known as d-density wave (DDW), a proposed state for the pseudogap phase of the high-Tc cuprates. We find that the F model is strongly diamagnetic and the susceptibility may diverge in the high temperature critical phase with power law arrow correlations. These results may explain the surprising recent obse…
The scaling properties of the free energy, the diamagnetic moment, and the diamagnetic susceptibility above the phase transition from the ferromagnetic phase to the phase of coexistence of ferromagnetic order and superconductivity in unconventional ferromagnetic superconductors with spin-triplet (p-wave) electron paring are considered. The crossover from weak to strong magnetic induction is described for both quasi-2D (thin films) and 3D (bulk) superconductors. The singularities of diamagnetic moment and diamagnetic susceptibility are dumped for large variations of the pressure and, hence, suc…
It is often claimed that among the strongest evidence for preformed-pair physics in the cuprates are the experimentally observed large values for the diamagnetic susceptibility and Nernst coefficient. These findings are most apparent in the underdoped regime, where a pseudogap is also evident. While the conventional (Gaussian) fluctuation picture has been applied to address these results, this preformed-pair approach omits the crucial effects of a pseudogap. In this paper we remedy this omission by computing the diamagnetic susceptibility and Nernst coefficient in the presence of a normal stat…
At T_c-T<<T_c(i.e., near T_c), in order to demonstrate the condudction mechanism and temperature dependencies of the diamagnetic-shielding susceptibility and the penetration depth, we fabricated Ba_1_xBiO_3(BKBO) thin films and measured the energy gap by tunnel effect and shielding susceptibilities which are compared with those measureed for BKBO and YBCO single crystals. The shielding susceptibilities for BKBO and YBCO single crystals well-fit χ(T)/χ(0)=1-exp(-2\triangle(T)/k_BT), while that for the BKBO film follows χ(T)/χ(0)=1-T/T_c) which may not be intrinsic. The exponential decrease of t…
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and Knight shift measurements are critical tools in the identification of spin-triplet superconductors. We discuss the effects of spin orbit coupling on the Knight shift and susceptibilities for a variety of spin triplet multi-orbital gap functions with orbital-singlet character and compare their responses to "traditional" single band spin-triplet ($p_x+ip_y$) superconductors. We observe a non-negligible residual spin-susceptibility at low temperature.
This paper emphasizes that non-linear rotational or diamagnetic susceptibility is characteristic of Bose fluids above their superfluid Tcs, and for sufficiently slow rotation or weak B-fields amounts to an incompressible response to vorticity. The cause is a missing term in the conventionally accepted model Hamiltonian for quantized vortices in the Bose fluid. The resulting susceptibility can account for recent observations of Chan et al on solid He, and Ong et al on cuprate superconductors.
Superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) microscopy shows stripes of increased diamagnetic susceptibility in underdoped, but not overdoped, single crystals of Ba(Fe1-xCox)2As2. These stripes of increased diamagnetic susceptibility are consistent with enhanced superfluid density on twin boundaries. Individual vortices avoid pinning on or crossing the stripes, and prefer to travel parallel to them. These results indicate a relationship between superfluid density, local strain, and frustrated magnetism, and demonstrate two mechanisms for enhancing critical currents.
Under the self-consistent mean-field approach for the BCS-BEC crossover problem, we derive a closed-form analytical expression for the general spin response of noncentrosymmetric Fermi superfluids with arbitrary spin-orbit coupling and Zeeman fields. In addition to the paramagnetic, i.e., the Pauli intra-helicity and Van Vleck type inter-helicity, contributions to the spin-susceptibility tensor that have normal-state counterparts, we identify a diamagnetic inter-helicity contribution that is unique to the superfluid state. Our extensive numerical calculations for the Weyl, Rashba and equal Ras…
We have investigated the diamagnetic response of composite NS proximity wires, consisting of a clean silver or copper coating, in good electrical contact to a superconducting niobium or tantalum core. The samples show strong induced diamagnetism in the normal layer, resulting in a nearly complete Meissner screening at low temperatures. The temperature dependence of the linear diamagnetic susceptibility data is successfully described by the quasiclassical Eilenberger theory including elastic scattering characterised by a mean free path l. Using the mean free path as the only fit parameter we fo…
We report magnetic measurements up to 1100 K on a multi-walled carbon nanotube mat sample using a Quantum Design vibrating sample magnetometer. In an ultra-low field (H = -0.02 Oe), we find a very large paramagnetic susceptibility (up to 12.7% of 1/4pi) at 1100 K and a very large diamagnetic susceptibility (at least 8.4% of -1/4pi) at 482 K. A small magnetic field (2.1 Oe) completely suppresses the diamagnetic susceptibility at 482 K and reduces the paramagnetic susceptibility at 1100 K by a factor of over 20. We rule out explanations based on magnetic contaminants, instrument artifacts, and o…
We discuss the magnetic response of gold-niobium proximity cylinders in the temperature range 100 μK<T<9 K. The temperature dependence of the susceptibility in the diamagnetic regime is described well by the quasiclassical Eilenberger theory including an elastic mean-free path l. In the mesoscopic regime, the temperature dependence of the reentrant paramagnetic susceptibility χ_para(T) \propto \exp[-L/3ξ^d_N(T)] is governed by the dirty limit coherence length ξ^d_N(T)=\sqrt{1/3ξ_N l_N}, with ξ_N the clean limit coherence length obtained from breakdown field measurements and l_N the measured me…
Rietveld analysis of the powder X-ray diffraction of a new layered oxyarsenide, LaNiOAs, which was synthesized by solid-state reactions, revealed that LaNiOAs belongs to the tetragonal ZrCuSiAs-type structure (P4/nmm) and is composed of alternating stacks of La-O and Ni-As layers. The electrical and magnetic measurements demonstrated that LaNiOAs exhibits a superconducting transition at 2.4 K, and above this, LaNiOAs shows metallic conduction and Pauli paramagnetism. The diamagnetic susceptibility measured at 1.8 K corresponded to ~20% of perfect diamagnetic susceptibility, substantiating that…
Transport studies seem to be one of the strongest lines of support for a preformed pair approach to the pseudogap. In this paper we provide a fresh, physically transparent look at two important quantities: the diamagnetic susceptibility and conductivity. We use a three dimensional preformed pair framework which has had some success in the cold Fermi gases and in the process we reconcile recently observed inconsistencies. Specifically, while the preformed pairs in our theory give a large contribution to the diamagnetic susceptibility, the imaginary part of the conductivity is suppressed to zero…
Diamagnetic susceptibility measurements under high hydrostatic pressure (up to 1.03 GPa) were carried out on the newly discovered Fe-based superconductor LaO_{1-x}F_{x}FeAs(x=0.11). The transition temperature T_c, defined as the point at the maximum slope of superconducting transition, was enhanced almost linearly by hydrostatic pressure, yielding a dT_c/dP of about 1.2 K/GPa. Differential diamagnetic susceptibility curves indicate that the underlying superconducting state is complicated. It is suggested that pressure plays an important role on pushing low T_c superconducting phase toward the …
We investigate the response of a doped topological insulator Bi$_2$Se$_3$ with spin-triplet nematic superconductivity to external magnetization. We calculate the Zeeman part of magnetic susceptibility for nematic and chiral superconducting phases near T$_c$ in Ginzburg-Landau formalism. Superconducting order parameter from $E_u$ representation has non-trivial coupling with the transversal Zeeman field that results in a paramagnetic response to a magnetization. The topology of a Fermi surface has a strong influence on magnetic susceptibility. Lifshitz transition from closed to open Fermi surfac…
We study the spin susceptibility of the orbital-singlet pairings, including the spin-triplet/orbital-singlet/$s$-wave $E_g$ representation proposed by Suh \textit{et al}., [H.\ G.\ Suh \textit{et al}., Phys.\ Rev.\ Research \textbf{2}, 032023 (2020)], for a three-orbital model of superconducting Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ in three dimensions. For the pseudospin-singlet states represented in the band basis, the spin susceptibility decreases when reducing the temperature, irrespective of the direction of the applied magnetic fields, even if they are spin-triplet/orbital-singlet pairings in the spin-orbital s…
We report the magnetic susceptibility and the magnetization under pressures up to 1.7GPa above the critical pressure, Pc ~ 1.5GPa, for H // a, b, c-axes in the novel spin triplet superconductor UTe2. The anisotropic magnetic susceptibility at low pressure with the easy magnetization a-axis changes to the quasi-isotropic behavior at high pressure, revealing a rapid suppression of the susceptibility for a-axis, and a gradual increase of the susceptibility for the b-axis. At 1.7GPa above Pc, magnetic anomalies are detected at T_MO ~ 3K and T_WMO ~ 10K. The former anomaly corresponds to long-range…
The diamagnetic susceptibility of a superconductor is directly related to its superfluid density. Mutual inductance is a highly sensitive method for characterizing thin films; however, in traditional mutual inductance measurements, the measured response is a non-trivial average over the area of the mutual inductance coils, which are typically of millimeter size. Here we image localized, isolated features in the diamagnetic susceptibility of δ-doped SrTiO3, the 2-DES at the interface between LaAlO3 and SrTiO3, and Nb superconducting thin film systems using scanning superconducting quantum inter…
Linear diamagnetism is predicted in the vortex-liquid phase of layered superconductors at temperatures just below the mean-field phase transition on the basis of a high-temperature analysis of the corresponding frustrated XY model. The diamagnetic susceptibility, and the Nernst signal by implication, is found to vanish with temperature as (T_c0 - T)^3 in the vicinity of the meanfield transition at T_c0. Quantitative agreement with recent experimental observations of a diamagnetic signal in the vortex-liquid phase of high-temperature superconductors is obtained.
We report a novel phenomenon intimately related to the spin-triplet superconductivity. It is well known that the spin susceptibility decreases below the superconducting transition temperature in almost all superconductors because of spin-singlet pair formation, while it may remain unchanged in a handful of spin-triplet exceptions. Here we report the observation in Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) that the spin susceptibility originating from the Ru-4$d$ electron slightly $increases$ by $\sim 2 $\% of total and becomes inhomogeneous in the superconducting state. These are rea…
Clear Reduction in Spin Susceptibility and Superconducting Spin Rotation for $H \parallel a$ in the Early-Stage Sample of Spin-Triplet Superconductor UTe$_2$
A $^{59}$Co nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurement was performed on the single-crystalline ferromagnetic (FM) superconductor UCoGe under a pressure of 1.09 GPa, where the FM state is suppressed and superconductivity occurs in the paramagnetic (PM) state, to study the superconducting (SC) state in the PMstate. $^{59}$Co-NMR spectra became broader but hardly shifted across the SC transition temperature. The Knight-shift change determined from fitting the spectral peak with a Gaussian was much smaller than the spin part of the Knight shift; this is in good agreement with the spin-triplet pa…
Magnetic susceptibility, entropy and specific heat are calculated at the equilibrium points of phase transition to a phase of coexistence of ferromagnetic order and superconductivity in a new class of spin-triplet ferromagnetic superconductors. The results are discussed in view of application to metallic ferromagnets as UGe$_2$, ZrZn$_2$, URhGe.
The spin susceptibility in the uranium ferromagnet superconductors is calculated. There is shown that the absence of superconductivity paramagnetic limitation for the field directions perpendicular to the direction of the spontaneous magnetization is explained by the itinerant ferromagnet band splitting rather than by a rotation of magnetization toward the external field direction. The qualitative description of the upper critical field temperature dependence is given.
A scenario for the unusual paramagnetic reentrance behavior at ultra-low temperatures in Nb-Ag, Nb-Au, and Nb-Cu cylinders is presented. For the diamagnetic response down to temperatures of the order 15 mK, the standard theory (quasi-classical approximation) for superconductors appears to work very well, assuming that Ag, Au, and Cu remain in the normal state except for the proximity-induced superconductivity. Here it is proposed that these noble metals may become p-wave superconductors with a transition temperature of order 10 mK. Below this temperature, p-wave triplet superconductivity emerg…
Domain wall motion in magnetic materiel induces the negative susceptibility leading to a perfect diamagnetism state. The local susceptibility is calculated by the derivative of magnetization ($\vec{M}$) vector w.r.t. magnetic field strength ($\vec{H}$) vector. In the transient region from the upward domain to the downward domain (domain wall width), local $\vec{M}$ and $\vec{H}$ vectors exhibit opposite slopes, which leads to a negative susceptibility value. A negative susceptibility value induces the diamagnetism effect leading to a relative permeability value $<$ 1 $\left(μ_r < 1\right)$. Th…
Recent experiments indicate that the Bechgaard salts (TMTSF)$_2$ ClO$_4$ and (TMTSF)$_2$ PF$_6$ may be unconventional triplet superconductors. The quasiparticle density of states and the uniform spin susceptibility tensor are computed at low temperatures for order parameter symmetries, as an attempt to narrow the number of possibilities based on experimental evidence.
The dynamical spin susceptibility chi'' at wave vector (pi, pi) and the spectrum pi'' of the spin-triplet particle--particle excitation with center of mass momentum (pi, pi) (pi-excitation) are considered in the slave-boson formulation of the t--J-model. Propagators are calculated in a diagrammatic t-matrix approximation in the d-wave superconducting state for a wide doping range. The resulting spectra chi'' and pi'' both show a resonance at a doping dependent energy, in qualitative agreement with recent numerical cluster calculations. In underdoped systems, the peak position is comparable to …
Electronic nematicity, a consequence of rotational symmetry breaking, is an emergent phenomenon in various new materials. In order to fully utilize the functions of these materials, ability of tuning them through a knob, the nematic director, is desired. Here we report a successful manipulation of the nematic director, the vector order-parameter (d-vector), in the spin-triplet superconducting state of CuxBi2Se3 by magnetic fields. At H = 0.5 T, the ac susceptibility related to the upper critical field shows a two-fold symmetry in the basal plane. At H = 1.5 T, however, the susceptibility shows…
Motivated by recent experimental findings, we have developed a theory of the superconducting state for 2D metals without inversion symmetry modeling the geometry of a surface superconducting layer in a field-effect-transistor or near the boundary doped by adsorbed ions. In such systems the two-fold spin degeneracy is lifted by spin-orbit interaction, and singlet and triplet pairings are mixed in the wave function of the Cooper pairs. As a result, spin magnetic susceptibility becomes anisotropic and Knight shift retains finite and rather high value at T=0.
We propose theoretically that a magnetic field can realize spin-triplet superconductivity in repulsively interacting electron systems having strong ferromagnetic spin fluctuations. We confirm the general idea for the low-density Hubbard model on a triangular lattice, whose Fermi surface consists of disconnected pieces, by calculating the pairing susceptibility in a moderate magnetic field with the quantum Monte-Carlo method combined with the dynamical cluster approximation.
We study the linear diamagnetic response of a superconducting cylinder coated by a normal-metal layer due to the proximity effect using the clean limit quasiclassical Eilenberger equations. We compare the results for the susceptibility with those for a planar geometry. Interestingly, for $R\sim d$ the cylinder exhibits a stronger overscreening of the magnetic field, i.e., at the interface to the superconductor it can be less than (-1/2) of the applied field. Even for $R\gg d$, the diamagnetism can be increased as compared to the planar case, viz. the magnetic susceptibility $4πχ$ becomes small…
The study of non-s-wave unconventional superconductivities in strongly correlated-electron systems has been a central issue in condensed matter physics for more than 30 years. In such unconventional superconductivities, d-wave Cooper pairing with antiparallel spins has been often observed in various quasi-two-dimensional (quasi-2D) bulk systems. Interestingly, many theories predicted that the triangular lattice causes the d-wave pairing to be unstable and may lead to more exotic pairing such as parallel spin (spin-triplet) pairing. Here we focus on a bulk organic triangular-lattice system in w…
We study pairing symmetry of noncentrosymmetric superconductors based on the extended Hubbard model on square lattice near half-filling, using the random phase approximation. We show that d+f-wave pairing is favored and the triplet f-wave state is enhanced by Rashba type spin-orbit coupling originating from the broken inversion symmetry. The enhanced triplet superconductivity stems from the increase of the effective interaction for the triplet pairing and the reduction of the spin susceptibility caused by the Rashba type spin-orbit coupling which lead to the increase of the triplet component a…
We have clarified how the enhanced superconductivity, often referred to as the 3-K phase superconductivity, develops in the Sr2RuO4-Ru eutectic system. From the detailed ac and dc susceptibility measurements on well-characterized crystals, we revealed strongly anisotropic shielding, governed by the direction of the screening current dominated within the RuO2 plane rather than by the orientation of the Ru lamellae. The onset temperature of the 3-K phase superconductivity probed by diamagnetic screening is as high as 3.5 K. The temperature dependence of the diamagnetic shielding above around 2 K…
Using a two-dimensional Hubbard Hamiltonian for the three electronic bands crossing the Fermi level in Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ we calculate the band structure and spin susceptibility $χ({\bf q}, ω)$ in quantitative agreement with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and inelastic neutron scattering (INS) experiments. The susceptibility has two peaks at {\bf Q}$_i = (2π/3, 2π/3)$ due to the nesting Fermi surface properties and at {\bf q}$_i = (0.6π, 0)$ due to the tendency towards ferromagnetism. Applying spin-fluctuation exchange theory as in layered cuprates we determine from $χ({\bf q}, ω)$, electronic di…
Analogous to cuprate high-Tc superconductors, a NiP-based compound system has several crystals in which the Ni-P layers have different stacking structures. Herein, the properties of BaNi2P2 are reported. BaNi2P2 has an infinite-layer structure, and shows a superconducting transition at ~3 K. Moreover, it exhibits metallic conduction and Pauli paramagnetism in the temperature range of 4-300 K. Below 3 K, the resistivity sharply drops to zero, and the magnetic susceptibility becomes negative, while the volume fraction of the superconducting phase estimated from the diamagnetic susceptibility rea…
We perform calculations relating the order parameter symmetry of organic quasi-one-dimensional superconductors to the bulk quasiparticle density of states and the bulk uniform spin susceptibility tensor at finite temperatures. Current experimental results suggest that some organic quasi-one-dimensional superconductors may exhibit triplet pairing symmetry. The purpose of our analysis is to attempt to narrow down the number of possibilities for the symmetry of the order parameter based on the experimental evidence.
A spin-triplet superconductor can harbor Majorana bound states that can be used in topological quantum computing. Recently, K2Cr3As3 and its variants with critical temperature Tc as high as 8 K have emerged as a new class of superconductors with ferromagnetic spin fluctuations. Here we report a discovery in K2Cr3As3 single crystal that, the spin susceptibility measured by 75As Knight shift below Tc is unchanged with the magnetic field H0 applied in the ab plane, but vanishes toward zero temperature when H0 is along the c axis, which unambiguously establishes this compound as a spin-triplet sup…
The Kondo effect in a $p_x + {\rm i} p_y$-wave superconductor is studied by applying the Wilson's numerical renormalization group method. In this type of superconductor with a full energy gap like a s-wave one, the ground state is always a spin doublet, while a local spin is shrunk by the Kondo effect. The calculated magnetic susceptibility indicates that the spin of the ground state is generated by the orbital effect of the $p_x + {\rm i} p_y$-wave Cooper pairs. The effect of spin polarization of the triplet superconductor is also discussed.
To investigate spin susceptibility in a superconducting (SC) state, we measured the $^{125}$Te-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) Knight shifts at magnetic fields ($H$) up to 6.5 T along the $b$ and $c$ axes of single-crystal UTe$_2$, a promising candidate for a spin-triplet superconductor. In the SC state, the Knight shifts along the $b$ and $c$ axes ($K_b$ and $K_c$, respectively) decreased slightly and the decrease in $K_b$ was almost constant up to 6.5 T. The reduction in $K_c$ decreased with increasing $H$, and $K_c$ was unchanged through the SC transition temperature at 5.5 T, excluding th…
We measured electrical resistivity, specific heat and magnetic susceptibility of single crystals of highly conductive oxide Ag_5Pb_2O_6, which has a layered structure containing a Kagome lattice. Both the out-of-plane and in-plane resistivity show T^2 dependence in an unusually wide range of temperatures up to room temperature. This behavior cannot be accounted for either by electron correlation or by electron-phonon scattering with high frequency optic phonons. In addition, a phase transition with a large diamagnetic signal was found in the ac susceptibility, which strongly suggests the exist…
Tunnel-diode resonator technique was used to study crystals of ferromagnetic re-entrant superconductor, ErRh$_{4}$B$_{4}$. At the boundary between ferromagnetism (FM) and superconductivity (SC), dynamic magnetic susceptibility, $χ(T,H)$, exhibits highly asymmetric behavior upon warming and cooling as well as enhanced diamagnetism on the SC side. SC phase nucleates upon warming in a cascade of discontinuous jumps in magnetic susceptibility $χ(T,H)$, whereas FM phase develops gradually as reported in detail in \cite{prozorov2008}. Here we further investigate enhanced diamagnetism. We find that w…
We study the magnetic susceptibility of a two-dimensional cone of Majorana modes localised at the surface of a three-dimensional time-reversal invariant topological superconductor belonging to class DIII. A field parallel to the surface tilts the surface Majorana cone along the supercurrent direction. For fields larger than a critical threshold field $H^*$, $H>H^*$, a transition from type I to type II Dirac cone occurs and a finite current carried by the Majorana modes start to flow, leading to an additional diamagnetic contribution to the surface magnetization. On a curved surface interband t…
Recent inelastic neutron scattering measurements found that the spin susceptibility of detwinned and highly ordered ortho-II YBa_2Cu_3O_{6.5} exhibits, in both the normal and superconducting states, one-dimensional incommensurate modulations at low energies which were interpreted as a signature of dynamic stripes. We propose an alternative model based on quasiparticle transitions between the arcs of a truncated Fermi surface. Such transitions are resonantly enhanced by scattering to the triplet spin resonance. We show that the anisotropy in the experimental spin response is consistent with thi…
We study the dynamical spin susceptibility, $χ({\bf q}, ω)$, in the normal and superconducting state of Sr$_2$RuO$_4$. In the normal state, we find a peak in the vicinity of ${\bf Q}_i\simeq (0.72π,0.72π)$ in agreement with recent inelastic neutron scattering (INS) experiments. We predict that for spin triplet pairing in the superconducting state a {\it resonance peak} appears in the out-of-plane component of $χ$, but is absent in the in-plane component. In contrast, no resonance peak is expected for spin singlet pairing.
Scanning SQUID susceptometry images the local magnetization and susceptibility of a sample. By accurately modeling the SQUID signal we can determine the physical properties such as the penetration depth and permeability of superconducting samples. We calculate the scanning SQUID susceptometry signal for a superconducting slab of arbitrary thickness with isotropic London penetration depth, on a non-superconducting substrate, where both slab and substrate can have a paramagnetic response that is linear in the applied field. We derive analytical approximations to our general expression in a numbe…
Searching for triplet superconductivity has been pursued intensively in a broad field of material science and quantum information for decades. Nevertheless, these novel states remain rare. Within a simplified effective three-orbital model, we reveal a spin triplet pairing in doped MoS$_2$ by employing both the finite temperature determinant quantum Monte Carlo approach and the ground state constrained-phase quantum Monte Carlo method. In a wide filling region of $\avg{n}=0.60-0.80$ around charge neutrality $\avg{n}=2/3$, the $f$-wave pairing dominates over other symmetries. The pairing suscept…
The temperature dependence of the low-energy magnetic excitations in the spin-triplet superconductor UTe$_2$ was measured via inelastic neutron scattering in the normal and superconducting states. The imaginary part of the dynamic susceptibility follows the behavior of interband correlations in a hybridized Kondo lattice with an appropriate characteristic energy. These excitations are a lower-dimensional analogue of phenomena observed in other Kondo lattice materials, such that their presence is not necessarily due to dominance of ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic correlations. The onset of s…

We study the mechanism of the triplet superconductivity in Sr2RuO4 based on the multiorbital Hubbard model. The electronic states are studied using the renormalization group method. Thanks to the vertex correction (VC) for the susceptibility, which is dropped in the mean-field-level approximations, strong orbital and spin fluctuations at $Q=(2π/3,2π/3)$ emerge in the quasi one-dimensional Fermi surfaces composed of $d_{xz}$ and $d_{yz}$ orbitals. Due to the cooperation of both fluctuations, we obtain the triplet superconductivity in the $E_u$ representation, in which the superconducting gap is…
We discuss the susceptibility of the Cooper condensate in the s-wave $2+1$ superconductor in the external magnetic field and in the rotating frame. The extended holographic model involving the charged rank-two field is considered and it is argued that the susceptibility does not vanish. We interpret non-vanishing susceptibilities as the admixture of the p-wave triplet component in the Cooper condensate in the external field.
Using a three-band Hubbard Hamiltonian we calculate within the random-phase-approximation the spin susceptibility, $χ({\bf q},ω)$, and NMR spin-lattice relaxation rate, 1/T$_1$, in the normal state of the triplet superconductor Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ and obtain quantitative agreement with experimental data. Most importantly, we find that due to spin-orbit coupling the out-of-plane component of the spin susceptibility $χ^{zz}$ becomes at low temperatures two times larger than the in-plane one. As a consequence strong incommensurate antiferromagnetic fluctuations of the quasi-one-dimensional $xz$- and $y…
