We analyze the CoRoT and V-passband ground-based light curves of the interacting close binary AU Mon, assuming that there is a geometrically and optically thick accretion disk around the hotter and more massive star, as inferred from photometric and spectroscopic characteristics of the binary. Our model fits the observations very well and provides estimates for the orbital elements and physical parameters of the components and of the accretion disk.
In this paper we analyzed the behavior of the unusual dwarf nova EM Cyg using the data obtained in April-October, 2007 in Vyhorlat observatory (Slovak Republic) and in September, 2006 in Crimean Astrophysical Observatory (Ukraine). During our observations EM Cyg has shown outbursts in every 15-40 days. Because on the light curves of EM Cyg the partial eclipse of an accretion disc is observed we applied the eclipse mapping technique to reconstruct the temperature distribution in eclipsed parts of the disc. Calculations of the accretion rate in the system were made for the quiescent and the outb…
We present the results of 3D-hydrodynamical simulations of accretion flow in the eclipsing dwarf nova V1239 Her in quiescence. The model includes the optical star filling its Roche lobe, a gas stream emanating from the inner Lagrangian point of the binary system, and the accretion disc structure. A cold hydrogen gas stream is initially emitted towards a point-like gravitational centre. A stationary accretion disc is formed in about 15 orbital periods after the beginning of accretion. The model takes into account partial ionization of hydrogen and uses realistic cooling function for hydrogen. T…
The eclipsing polar CSS081231 turned bright (V_max ~ 14.5) in late 2008 and was subsequently observed intensively with small and medium-sized telescopes. A homogeneous analysis of this comprehensive dataset comprising 109 eclipse epochs is presented and a linear ephemeris covering the five years of observations, about 24000 orbital cycles, is derived. Formally this sets rather tight constraints on the mass of a hypothetical circumbinary planet, M_pl <= 2 M_Jup. This preliminary result needs consolidation by long-term monitoring of the source. The eclipse lasts 433.08 +- 0.65 s, and the orbital…
We report the analysis of time-series of optical photometry of SDSS J0926+3624 collected with the Liverpool Robotic Telescope between 2012 February and March while the object was in quiescence. We combined our median eclipse timing with those in the literature to revise the ephemeris and confirm that the binary period is increasing at a rate $\dot{P}=(3.2 \pm 0.4)\times 10^{-13} \, s/s$. The light curves show no evidence of either the orbital hump produced by a bright spot at disc rim or of superhumps; the average out-of-eclipse brightness level is consistently lower than previously reported. …
We present high-speed photometry covering one eclipse of the cataclysmic variable system 1RXS J180834.7+101041. The data are modelled as arising from a close binary system containing a low-mass stars filling its Roche lobe plus a white dwarf with an accretion disc. We find an orbital inclination of 77.07 +/- 0.47 degrees and a mass ratio of 0.168 +/- 0.016. The relatively low inclination means that only the accretion disc and not the white dwarf are eclipsed by the low-mass star in this system.
This study inspects the influence of various effects and free parameters of the accretion disc and circumstellar material on the emerging light curve of eclipsing binary systems that have a circumstellar disc, by using the SHELLSPEC code. The results indicate that some of the parameters namely the temperature and inclination of the disc, spot, jet, stream and shell significantly affect on the emerging light curve while some other parameters namely the exponent of the power-law behavior of the density of the disc, microturbulence, inner and outer radius of the disc don't noticeably affect on th…
We present observations and analysis of a new eclipsing binary HBHA 4705-03. Using decomposition of the light curve into accretion disk and hot spot components, we estimated photometrically the mass ratio of the studied system to be q=0.62 +-0.07. Other fundamental parameters was found with modeling. This approach gave: white dwarf mass M_1 = (0.8 +- 0.2) M_sun, secondary mass M_2=(0.497 +- 0.05) M_sun, orbital radius a=1.418 R_sun, orbital inclination i = (81.58 +- 0.5) deg, accretion disk radius r_d/a = 0.366 +- 0.002, and accretion rate dot{M} = (2.5 +- 2) * 10^{18}[g/s], (3*10^{-8} [M_sun/…
To add to the growing collection of well-studied double periodic variables (DPVs) we have carried out the first spectroscopic and photometric analysis of the eclipsing binary DQ Velorum to obtain its main physical stellar and orbital parameters. Combining spectroscopic and photometric observations that cover several orbital cycles allows us to estimate the stellar properties of the binary components and the orbital parameters. We also searched for circumstellar material around the more massive star. We separated DQ Velorum composite spectra and measured radial velocities with an iterative meth…
We analyze spectroscopic and photometric observations of the eclipsing polar BS Tri. The polar's light curve shape variations can be interpreted by changing contributions of the accretion stream to the integral radiation of the system. Based on the radial velocity curves of the irradiated part of the secondary, we refine the masses of the system components, $M_1 = 0.60 \pm 0.04 M_{\odot}$, $M_2 \approx 0.12 M_{\odot}$, and the orbital inclination, $i=85\pm 0.5^{\circ}$. The polar's spectra reveal cyclotron harmonics forming in an accretion spot with a magnetic field strength of $B=22.7 \pm 0.4…
V578 Mon is an eclipsing binary system in which both stars have masses above 10 Msun determined with an accuracy better than 3%. It is one of only five such massive eclipsing binaries known that also possess eccentric orbits and measured apsidal motions, thus making it an important benchmark for theoretical stellar evolution models. However, recently reported determinations of the radii of V578 Mon differ significantly from previously reported values. We reanalyze the published data for V578 Mon and trace the discrepancy to the use of an incorrect formulation for the stellar potentials in the …

Time-resolved photometry of the eclipsing polar CSS 081231:071126+44040 was obtained with the Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope (VATT) on four nights in October 2009. The light curve shows a single accretion hotspot lagging 10 degrees behind the secondary. The last two nights of data show "sputtering" accretion and the hotspot nearly disappears in consecutive orbits.
We identify HS 2325+8205 as an eclipsing, frequently outbursting dwarf nova with an orbital period of 279.841731(5) min. Spectroscopic observations are used to derive the radial velocity curve of the secondary star from absorption features and also from the H-alpha emission lines, originating from the accretion disc, yielding K_secondary = K_abs = 237 +- 28 km/s and K_emn = 145 +- 9 km/s respectively. The distance to the system is calculated to be 400 (+200, -140) pc. A photometric monitoring campaign reveals an outburst recurrence time of 12-14 d, The combination of magnitude range (17-14 mag…
CCD multi-band light curves of the neglected eclipsing binaries V405 Cep, V948 Her, KR Mon and UZ Sge were obtained and analysed using the Wilson-Devinney code. New geometric and absolute parameters were derived and used to determine their current evolutionary state. V405 Cep, V948 Her and KR Mon are detached systems with their components in almost the same evolutionary stage. UZ Sge is a classical Algol system with a tertiary companion around it. Moreover, since the systems V405 Cep, V948 Her and UZ Sge contain an early type component, their light curves were examined for possible pulsation b…

The UV spectra of nova-like variables are dominated by emission from the accretion disk, modified by scattering in a wind emanating from the disk. Here we model the spectra of RW Tri and UX UMa, the only two eclipsing nova-likes which have been observed with the Hubble Space Telescope in the far-ultraviolet, in an attempt to constrain the geometry and the ionization structure of their winds. Using our Monte Carlo radiative transfer code we computed spectra for simply-parameterized axisymmetric biconical outflow models and were able to find plausible models for both systems. These reproduce the…
We present a catalog of 56 candidate intermediate mass eclipsing binary systems extracted from the 3rd data release of the All Sky Automated Survey. We gather pertinent observational data and derive orbital properties, including ephemerides, for these systems as a prelude to anticipated spectroscopic observations. We find that 37 of the 56, or ~66% of the systems are not identified in the Simbad Astronomical Database as known binaries. As a specific example, we show spectroscopic data obtained for the system HI Mon (B0 V + B0.5 V) observed at key orbital phases based on the computed ephemeris,…
RW Aur is a young binary star that experienced a deep dimming in 2010-11 in component A and a second even deeper dimming from summer 2014 to summer 2016. We present new unresolved multi-band photometry during the 2014-16 eclipse, new emission line spectroscopy before and during the dimming, archive infrared photometry between 2014-15, as well as an overview of literature data. Spectral observations were carried out with the Fibre-fed RObotic Dual-beam Optical Spectrograph on the Liverpool Telescope. Photometric monitoring was done with the Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network and J…
Gaia22ayj (=ZTF19aagmvuk) was detected as a transient on 2022 March 3 both by the Gaia satellite and the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF). I analyzed the past public ZTF data and found that Gaia22ayj showed coherent large-amplitude double-wave variations with a period of 0.00649910257(13) d = 9.36 min. The period can be either from the spin period of the white dwarf or the orbital period of the binary. I consider the latter possibility more likely based on the light curve resembling an eclipsing binary and on the stability of the profile. The presence of an outburst lasting at least ~1 d sugges…
We present an analysis of photometric observations of the eclipsing novalike variable DW UMa made by the CBA consortium between 1999 and 2015. Analysis of 372 new and 260 previously published eclipse timings reveals a 13.6 year period or quasi-period in the times of minimum light. The seasonal light curves show a complex spectrum of periodic signals: both positive and negative superhumps, likely arising from a prograde apsidal precession and a retrograde nodal precession of the accretion disc. These signals appear most prominently and famously as sidebands of the orbital frequency but the prec…
We present a photometric study of the newly discovered eclipsing IP $J183221.56-162724.25$ (in short $J1832$) with an orbital period of $8.87hr$. The system features a box-like deep eclipse with a full width at 50% depth of $1970\pm2s$ and a large-amplitude coherent pulsation with $P_\mathrm{obs}\!=\!65.18min$, which represents either the synodic (beat) period or the spin period of the white dwarf (WD). The period ratio is either $P_\mathrm{spin}\!/P_\mathrm{orb} = 0.1091$ or $0.1225$, respectively. The eclipsed light originates almost entirely from the two accretion spots and columns on the W…
The sudden lengthening of orbital period of VV Cep eclipsing binary by about 1% was observed in the last epoch. The mass transfer and/or mass loss are most possible explanations of this event. The photometric behaviour of AZ Cas, the cousin of VV Cep, suggests that the accretion can occur and could be important in this system, too.
Chemically peculiar stars in eclipsing binary systems are rare objects that allow the derivation of fundamental stellar parameters and important information on the evolutionary status and the origin of the observed chemical peculiarities. Here we present an investigation of the known eclipsing binary system BD+09 1467 = V680 Mon. Using spectra from the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) and own observations, we identify the primary component of the system as a mercury-manganese (HgMn/CP3) star (spectral type kB9 hB8 HeB9 V HgMn). Furthermore, photometric time se…
We investigate the nature of the unusual eclipsing star OGLE LMC-ECL-11893 (OGLE J05172127-6900558) in the Large Magellanic Cloud recently reported by Dong et al. 2014. The eclipse period for this star is 468 days, and the eclipses exhibit a minimum of ~1.4 mag, preceded by a plateau of ~0.8 mag. Spectra and optical/IR photometry are consistent with the eclipsed star being a lightly reddened B9III star of inferred age ~150 Myr and mass of ~4 solar masses. The disk appears to have an outer radius of ~0.2 AU with predicted temperatures of ~1100-1400 K. We model the eclipses as being due to eithe…
(Abridged:) We present the identification of optical counterparts to 23 Galactic Bulge Survey X-ray sources. We report their accurate coordinates and optical spectra acquired at the VLT and Magellan. All sources are classified as accreting binaries according to their emission line characteristics. To distinguish accreting binaries from chromospherically active objects we develop and explain criteria based on Halpha and HeI 5786,6678 emission line properties available in the literature. The spectroscopic properties and photometric variability of all the objects are discussed and a classificatio…
We present the spectroscopic orbit solutions of three double-lines eclipsing binaries, BG Ind, IM Mon and RS Sgr. The first precise radial velocities (RVs) of the components were determined using high resolution echelle spectra obtained at Mt. John University Observatory in New Zealand. The RVs of the components of BG Ind and RS Sgr were measured using Gaussian fittings to the selected spectral lines, whereas two-dimensional cross-correlation technique was preferred to determine the RVs of IM Mon since it has relatively short orbital period among the other targets and so blending of the lines …
V578 Mon is a system of two early B-type stars in the Rosette Nebula star-forming region (NGC 2244), and is one of only nine eclipsing binaries with component masses greater than 10 M\odot whose physical parameters have been determined with an accuracy of better than 3%. It is therefore a benchmark system for evolutionary and stellar structure models of newly formed massive stars. Combining our multi-band light curves spanning 40 yr with previous light curve data from the literature, we fit a model light curve that for the first time includes the effects of apsidal motion of the system. We mea…
Context. The eclipsing binary GU Mon is located in the star-forming cluster Dolidze 25, which has the lowest metallicity measured in a Milky Way young cluster. Aims. GU Mon has been identified as a short-period eclipsing binary with two early B-type components. We set out to derive its orbital and stellar parameters. Methods. We present a comprehensive analysis, including B and V light curves and 11 high-resolution spectra, to verify the orbital period and determine parameters. We use the stellar atmosphere code FASTWIND to obtain stellar parameters and create templates for cross-correlation. …
We want to study the temporal and spectral behaviour of HU Aqr in the X-ray domain during different accretion states. We obtained spectra and light curves from four different XMM-Newton pointings covering intermediate and low states. The X-ray observations were accompanied with high time resolution photometry obtained with the Optima and ULTRACAM instruments. On two occasions in May 2002 and 2003 HU Aqr was found in an intermediate state with the accretion rate reduced by a factor of 50 compared to earlier high state measurements. X-ray spectra in the intermediate state can be described by a m…
M33 X-7 is the only known eclipsing black hole high mass X-ray binary. The system is reported to contain a very massive O supergiant donor and a massive black hole in a short orbit. The high X-ray luminosity and its location in the metal-poor galaxy M33 make it a unique laboratory for studying the winds of metal-poor donor stars with black hole companions and it helps us to understand the potential progenitors of black hole mergers. Using phase-resolved simultaneous HST- and XMM-Newton-observations, we traced the interaction of the stellar wind with the black hole. Our comprehensive spectrosco…
We present the results of our search for variable stars using the long-term Las Cumbres Observatory (LCO) monitoring of white dwarf ZTF J0139+5245 with the two 1.0-m telescope nodes located at McDonald Observatory using the Sinistro imaging instrument. In this search, we find 38 variable sources, of which 27 are newly discovered or newly classified (71%) based on comparisons with previously published catalogs, thereby increasing the number of detections in the field-of-view under consideration by a factor of $\approx$ 2.5. We find that the improved photometric precision per-exposure due to lon…
We report extensive high-resolution spectroscopic observations and V-band differential photometry of the slightly eccentric 7.02-day detached eclipsing binary V501 Mon (A6m+F0), which we use to determine its absolute dimensions to high precision (0.3% for the masses and 1.8% for the radii, or better). The absolute masses, radii, and temperatures are M(A) = 1.6455 +/- 0.0043 M(Sun), R(A) = 1.888 +/- 0.029 R(Sun), and T(A) = 7510 +/- 100 K for the primary, and M(B) = 1.4588 +/- 0.0025 M(Sun), R(B) = 1.592 +/- 0.028 R(Sun), and T(B) = 7000 +/- 90 K for the secondary. Apsidal motion has been detec…
Main aim of this paper is the first light curve and apsidal motion analysis of thirteen eccentric eclipsing binaries and to reveal their basic physical properties. All of the systems were studied by method of period analysis of times of minima and the light curve analysis. Many new times of minima for all of the systems were derived and collected from the data obtained by the automatic, robotic or satellite telescopes. This allow us to study the apsidal motion in these systems in detail for the first time. From the light curve analysis the first rough estimations of the physical properties of …
We observed the 2014 superoutburst of the SU UMa-type intermediate polar CC Scl. We detected superhumps with a mean period of 0.05998(2) d during the superoutburst plateau and during three nights after the fading. During the post-superoutburst stage after three nights, a stable superhump period of 0.059523(6) d was detected. We found that this object is an eclipsing system with an orbital period of 0.058567233(8) d. By assuming that the disk radius in the post-superoutburst phase is similar to those in other SU UMa-type dwarf novae, we obtained a mass ratio of q=0.072(3) from the dynamical pre…
CoRoT 223992193 is the only known low-mass, pre-main sequence eclipsing binary that shows evidence of a circumbinary disk. The system displays complex photometric and spectroscopic variability over a range of timescales and wavelengths. Using two optical CoRoT runs, and infrared Spitzer 3.6 and 4.5 $μ$m observations (simultaneous with the second CoRoT run), we model the out-of-eclipse light curves. The large scale structure in both CoRoT light curves is consistent with the constructive and destructive interference of starspot signals at two slightly different periods. Using the stellar $v\sin …
We report the discovery of an eclipsing low-mass X-ray binary at the center of the 3FGL error ellipse of the unassociated Fermi/Large Area Telescope gamma-ray source 3FGL J0427.9-6704. Photometry from OGLE and the SMARTS 1.3-m telescope and spectroscopy from the SOAR telescope have allowed us to classify the system as an eclipsing low-mass X-ray binary (P = 8.8 hr) with a main sequence donor and a neutron star accretor. Broad double-peaked H and He emission lines suggest the ongoing presence of an accretion disk. Remarkably, the system shows shows separate sets of absorption lines associated w…
We present a census of eclipsing binary systems with classical Cepheid as a component. All such systems known were found in the OGLE collection of classical Cepheids in the Magellanic System. We extend the list of potential candidates adding four new objects found in the OGLE-IV photometric data. One of the new Cepheids in the eclipsing system, OGLE-SMC-CEP-3235, revealed only one eclipse during 15 years of the OGLE photometric monitoring. However, it additionally shows very well pronounced light-time effect indicating that the binarity is real. We also search for the light-time effect in othe…
We have obtained CCD photometry in 2010-11 of V963 Per (=GSC3355 0394), which is a recently identified close binary star with unequal eclipse depths. The seven new eclipse timings yield an improved ephemeris, but we caution that secondary eclipse can be affected by variation of the light curve. This variation seems to be on a monthly timescale at the few percent level.
We present the results obtained from analysis of two AstroSat observations of the high mass X-ray binary pulsar OAO 1657-415. The observations covered 0.681-0.818 and 0.808-0.968 phases of the $\sim$10.4 day orbital period of the system, in March and July 2019, respectively. Despite being outside the eclipsing regime, the power density spectrum from the first observation lacks any signature of pulsation or quasi-periodic oscillations. However, during July observation, X-ray pulsations at a period of 37.0375 s were clearly detected in the light curves. The pulse profiles from the second observa…

We report the discovery of a new eclipsing polar, CRTS J035010.7+323230 (hereafter CRTS J0350+3232). We identified this cataclysmic variable (CV) candidate as a possible polar from its multi-year Catalina Real-Time Transient Survey (CRTS) optical light curve. Photometric monitoring of 22 eclipses in 2015 and 2017 was performed with the 2.1-m Otto Struve Telescope at McDonald Observatory. We derive an unambiguous high-precision ephemeris. Strong evidence that CRTS J0350+3232 is a polar comes from optical spectroscopy obtained over a complete orbital cycle using the Apache Point Observatory 3.5-…
We determine the absolute dimensions of the eclipsing binary V578 Mon, a detached system of two early B-type stars (B0V + B1V, P$=$2.40848 d) in the star-forming region NGC 2244 of the Rosette Nebula. From the light curve analysis of 40 yr of photometry and the analysis of HERMES spectra, we find radii of $5.41\pm0.04$ Rsun and $4.29\pm 0.05$ Rsun, and temperatures of $ 30000\pm 500$~K and $ 25750\pm 435$ K respectively. We find that our disentangled component spectra for V578 Mon agree well previous spectral disentangling from the literature. We also reconfirm the previous spectroscopic orbit…
We present a large sample of eclipsing binary stars detected in the Small Magellanic Cloud fields covering about 14 square degrees that have been monitored for eight years during the third phase of the OGLE survey. This is the largest set of such variables containing 6138 objects, of which 777 are contact and 5361 non-contact binaries. The estimated completeness of this sample is around 82%. We analyze the statistical properties of the sample and present selected interesting objects: 32 systems having eccentric orbit with visible apsidal motion, one Transient Eclipsing Binary, ten RS CVn type …
SDSS J030308.35+005444.1 is a close, detached, eclipsing white dwarf plus M dwarf binary which shows a large infrared excess which has been interpreted in terms of a circumbinary dust disk. In this paper we present optical and near-infrared photometric and spectroscopic data for this system. At optical wavelengths we observe heated pole caps from the white dwarf caused by accretion of wind material from the main-sequence star on to the white dwarf. At near-infrared wavelengths we see the eclipse of two poles on the surface of the white dwarf by the main-sequence star, indicating that the white…
Analyses of very accurate CoRoT space photometry, past Johnson V photoelectric photometry and high-resolution échelle spectra led to the determination of improved and consistent fundamental stellar properties of both components of AU Mon. We derived new, accurate ephemerides for both the orbital motion (with a period of 11.113d) and the long-term, overall brightness variation (with a period of 416.9d) of this strongly interacting Be + G semi-detached binary. It is shown that this long-term variation must be due to attenuation of the total light by some variable circumbinary material. We derive…
Binaries play key roles in determining stellar parameters and exploring stellar evolution models. We build a catalog of 88 eclipsing binaries with spectroscopic information, taking advantage of observations from both the Large Sky Area Multi-Object fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) and the Palomar Transient Factory (PTF) surveys. A software pipeline is constructed to identify binary candidates by examining their light curves. The orbital periods of binaries are derived from the Lomb-Scargle method. The key distinguishing features of eclipsing binaries are recognized by a new filter \texti…
We present time-resolved photometry of six faint (V>17mag) cataclysmic variables (CVs); one of them is V849 Oph and the others are identified from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS J0920+0042, SDSS J1327+6528, SDSS J1227+5139, SDSS J1607.02+3623, SDSS J1457+5148). The optical CCD photometric observations of these objects were performed at the TÜBİTAK National Observatory (Turkey) between February 2006 and March 2009. We aimed to detect short time scale orbital variability arisen from hot-spot modulation, flickering structures which occur from rapid fluctuations of material transferring from r…
The Kepler Mission provides nearly continuous monitoring of ~156 000 objects with unprecedented photometric precision. Coincident with the first data release, we presented a catalog of 1879 eclipsing binary systems identified within the 115 square degree Kepler FOV. Here, we provide an updated catalog augmented with the second Kepler data release which increases the baseline nearly 4-fold to 125 days. 386 new systems have been added, ephemerides and principle parameters have been recomputed. We have removed 42 previously cataloged systems that are now clearly recognized as short-period pulsati…
KIC~8262223 is an eclipsing binary with a short orbital period ($P=1.61$ d). The {\it Kepler} light curves are of Algol-type and display deep and partial eclipses, ellipsoidal variations, and pulsations of Delta Scuti type. We analyzed the {\it Kepler} photometric data, complemented by phase-resolved spectra from the R-C Spectrograph on the 4-meter Mayall telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory and determined the fundamental parameters of this system. The low mass and oversized secondary ($M_2=0.20M_{\odot}$, $R_2=1.31R_{\odot}$) is the remnant of the donor star that transferred most of it…
We report here the discovery of an optical flare observed in R band from the red-dwarf eclipsing binary CU Cnc whose component stars are at the upper boundary of full convection (M1=0.43 and M2=0.4M0, M0 is the solar mass). The amplitude of the flare is the largest among those detected in R band (~0.52mag) and the duration time is about 73 minutes. As those observed on the Sun, quasi-periodic oscillations were seen during and after the flare. Three more R-band flares were found by follow up monitoring. In total, this binary was monitored photometrically by using R filter for 79.9 hours, which …
A prerequisite for probing theortical evolutionary models for high-mass stars is the determination of stellar physical properties with a high accuracy. We do this for three binary systems containing components with masses above 10 Msun: V478 Cyg, AH Cep and V453 Cyg. New high-resolution and high-S/N echelle spectra were secured and analysed using spectral disentangling, yielding improved orbital elements and the individual spectra for the component stars. In conjuction with a re-analysis of archival light curves, the stellar masses and radii were measured to accuracies of 1.5-2.5% and 1.0-1.9%…
All available photometric and spectroscopic observations were collected and used as the basis of a detailed analysis of the close binary IM Mon. The orbital period of the binary was refined to 1.19024249(0.00000014) days. The Roche equipotentials, fractional luminosities (in (B, V) and H_p bands) and fractional radii for the component stars in addition to mass ratio q, inclination i of the orbit and the effective temperature T_eff of the secondary cooler less massive component were obtained by the analysis of light curves. IM Mon is classified to be a detached binary system in contrast to the …
We report extensive differential V-band photometry and high-resolution spectroscopy for the 1.14 day, detached, double-lined eclipsing binary BT Vul (F0+F7). Our radial-velocity monitoring and light curve analysis lead to absolute masses and radii of M1 = 1.5439 +/- 0.0098 MSun and R1 = 1.536 +/- 0.018 RSun for the primary, and M2 = 1.2196 +/- 0.0080 MSun and R2 = 1.151 +/- 0.029 RSun for the secondary. The effective temperatures are 7270 +/- 150 K and 6260 +/- 180 K, respectively. Both stars are rapid rotators, and the orbit is circular. A comparison with stellar evolution models from the MIS…
