The additional symmetries of the constrained CKP (cCKP) and BKP (cBKP) hierarchies are given by their actions on the Lax operators, and their actions on the eigenfunction and adjoint eigenfunction $\{Φ_i,Ψ_i \}$ are presented explicitly. Furthermore, we show that acting on the space of the wave operator, $\partial_k^*$ forms new centerless $W^{cC}_{1+\infty}$ and $W^{cB}_{1+\infty}$-subalgebra of centerless $W_{1+\infty}$ respectively. In order to define above symmetry flows $\partial_k^*$ of the cCKP and cBKP hierarchies, two vital operators $Y_k$ are introduced to revise the additional symmetry flows of the CKP and BKP hierarchies.
A unified framework is presented for the solution structure of three-dimensional discrete integrable systems, including the lattice AKP, BKP and CKP equations. This is done through the so-called direct linearising transform which establishes a general class of integral transforms between solutions. As a particular application, novel soliton-type solutions for the lattice CKP equation are obtained.
Restricting a linear system for the KP hierarchy to those independent variables t\_n with odd n, its compatibility (Zakharov-Shabat conditions) leads to the "odd KP hierarchy". The latter consists of pairs of equations for two dependent variables, taking values in a (typically noncommutative) associative algebra. If the algebra is commutative, the odd KP hierarchy is known to admit reductions to the BKP and the CKP hierarchy. We approach the odd KP hierarchy and its relation to BKP and CKP in different ways, and address the question whether noncommutative versions of the BKP and the CKP equati…
Based on the direct linearisation framework of the discrete Kadomtsev-Petviashvili-type equations presented in [Proc. R. Soc. A, 473 (2017) 20160915], six novel nonautonomous differential-difference equations are established, including three in the AKP class, two in the BKP class and one in the CKP class. In particular, one in the BKP class and the one in the CKP class are both in (2+2)-dimensional form. All the six models are integrable in the sense of having the same linear integral equation representations as those of their associated discrete Kadomtsev-Petviashvili-type equations, which gu…
In this paper, we construct a series of additional flows of the CKP hierarchy and the multi-component CKP hierarchy and these flows constitute a N-folds direct product of the positive half of the quantum Torus symmetry. Comparing to the $W_{\infty}$ infinite dimensional Lie symmetry, this quantum Torus symmetry has a nice algebraic structure with double indices.
In this paper, we define the modified formal variable separation approach and show how it determines, in a remarkably simple manner, the decomposition solutions, the Bäcklund transformations, the Lax pair, and the linear superposition solution of the B-type Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation. Also, the decomposition solutions, the Bäcklund transformation and the Lax pair relating to the C-type Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation is obtain by the same technique. This indicates that the decomposition may provide a description of integrable behavior in nonlinear systems, while, at the same time, establi…
In this paper we study the addition formulae of the KP, the mKP and the BKP hierarchies. We prove that the total hierarchies are equivalent to the simplest equations of their addition formulae. In the case of the KP and the mKP hierarchies those results had previously been proved by Noumi, Takasaki and Takebe by way of wave functions. Here we give alternative and direct proofs for the case of the KP and mKP hierarchies. Our method can equally be applied to the BKP hierarchy.
In this paper, we constructed the addition formulae for several integrable hierarchies, including the discrete KP, the q-deformed KP, the two-component BKP and the D type Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchies. With the help of the Hirota bilinear equations and $τ$ functions of different kinds of KP hierarchies, we prove that these addition formulae are equivalent to these hierarchies. These studies show that the addition formula in the research of the integrable systems has good universality.
We construct generalized additional symmetries of a two-component BKP hierarchy defined by two pseudo-differential Lax operators. These additional symmetry flows form a Block type algebra with some modified(or additional) terms because of a B type reduction condition of this integrable hierarchy. Further we show that the D type Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy, which is a reduction of the two-component BKP hierarchy, possess a complete Block type additional symmetry algebra. That D type Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy has a similar algebraic structure as the bigraded Toda hierarchy which is a differentia…
In this article, we will construct the additional perturbative quantum torus symmetry of the dispersionless BKP hierarchy basing on the $W_{\infty}$ infinite dimensional Lie symmetry. These results show that the complete quantum torus symmetry is broken from the BKP hierarchy to its dispersionless hierarchy. Further a series of additional flows of the multicomponent BKP hierarchy will be defined and these flows constitute an $N$-folds direct product of the positive half of the quantum torus symmetries.
In this paper, we construct the quantum Torus symmetry of the KP hierarchy and further derive the quantum torus constraint on the tau function of the KP hierarchy. That means we give a nice representation of the quantum Torus Lie algebra in the KP system by acting on its tau function. Comparing to the $W_{\infty}$ symmetry, this quantum Torus symmetry has a nice algebraic structure with double indices. Further by reduction, we also construct the quantum Torus symmetries of the KdV and BKP hierarchies and further derive the quantum Torus constraints on their tau functions. These quantum Torus c…
We introduce a single tau function that represents the CKP hierarchy into a generalized Hirota "bilinear" equation. The actions on the tau function by additional symmetries for the hierarchy are calculated, which involve strictly more than a central extension of the $w^C_\infty$-algebra. As an application, for Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchies of type C that are equivalent to certain reductions of the CKP hierarchy, their Virasoro symmetries are proved to be non-linearizable when acting on the tau function.
We firstly propose two kinds of new multi-component BKP (mcBKP) hierarchy based on the eigenfunction symmetry reduction and nonstandard reduction, respectively. The first one contains two types of BKP equation with self-consistent sources which Lax representations are presented. The two mcBKP hierarchies both admit reductions to the $k-$constrained BKP hierarchy and to integrable (1+1)-dimensional hierarchy with self-consistent sources, which include two types of SK equation with self-consistent sources and of bi-directional SK equations with self-consistent sources.
We develop a formalism of multicomponent BKP hierarchies using elementary geometry of spinors. The multicomponent KP and the modified KP hierarchy (hence all their reductions like KdV, NLS, AKNS or DS) are reductions of the multicomponent BKP.
We introduce a useful and rather simple classes of BKP tau functions which which we shall shall call "easy tau functions". We consider the "large BKP hiearchy" related to $O(2\infty +1)$ which was introduced in \cite{KvdLbispec} (which is closely related to the DKP $O(2\infty) $hierarchy introduced in \cite{JM}). Actually "easy tau functions" of the small BKP was already considered in \cite{HLO}, here we are more interested in the large BKP and also the mixed small-large BKP tau functions \cite{KvdLbispec}. Tau functions under consideration are equal to sums over partitions and to multi-integr…
We construct the additional symmetries and derive the Adler-Shiota-van Moerbeke formula for the two-component BKP hierarchy. We also show that the Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchies of type D, which are reduced from the two-component BKP hierarchy, possess symmetries written as the action of a series of linear Virasoro operators on the tau function. It results in that the Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchies of type D coincide with Dubrovin and Zhang's hierarchies associated to the Frobenius manifolds for Coxeter groups of type D, and that every solution of such a hierarchy together with the string equation…
Additional non-isospectral symmetries are formulated for the constrained Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (\cKP) integrable hierarchies. The problem of compatibility of additional symmetries with the underlying constraints is solved explicitly for the Virasoro part of the additional symmetry through appropriate modification of the standard additional-symmetry flows for the general (unconstrained) KP hierarchy. We also discuss the special case of \cKP --truncated KP hierarchies, obtained as Darboux-Bäcklund orbits of initial purely differential Lax operators. The latter give rise to Toda-lattice-like str…
In this paper, nonlocal symmetries for the bilinear KP and bilinear BKP equations are re-studied. Two arbitrary parameters are introduced in these nonlocal symmetries by considering gauge invariance of the bilinear KP and bilinear BKP equations under the transformation $f\longrightarrow fe^{ax+by+ct}$. By expanding these nonlocal symmetries in powers of each of two parameters, we have derived two types of bilinear NKP hierarchies and two types of bilinear NBKP hierarchies. An impressive observation is that bilinear positive and negative KP and BKP hierarchies may be derived from the same nonlo…
This work consist of two interrelated parts. First, we derive massive gauge-invariant generalizations of geometric actions on coadjoint orbits of arbitrary (infinite-dimensional) groups $G$ with central extensions, with gauge group $H$ being certain (infinite-dimensional) subgroup of $G$. We show that there exist generalized ``zero-curvature'' representation of the pertinent equations of motion on the coadjoint orbit. Second, in the special case of $G$ being Kac-Moody group the equations of motion of the underlying gauged WZNW geometric action are identified as additional-symmetry flows of gen…
We illustrate the basic notions of {\em additional non-isospectral symmetries} and their interplay with the discrete {\em \DB transformations} of integrable systems at the instance of {\em constrained Kadomtsev-Petviashvili} (\cKP) integrable hierarchies. As a main application we present the solution of discrete multi-matrix string models in terms of Wronskian $\t$-functions of graded $SL(m,1)$ \cKP hierarchies.
We show that when KP (Kadomtsev-Petviashvili) $τ$ functions allow special symmetries, the discrete BKP equation can be expressed as a linear combination of the discrete AKP equation and its reflected symmetric forms. Thus the discrete AKP and BKP equations can share the same $τ$ functions with these symmetries. Such a connection is extended to 4 dimensional (i.e. higher order) discrete AKP and BKP equations in the corresponding discrete hierarchies. Various explicit forms of such $τ$ functions, including Hirota's form, Gramian, Casoratian and polynomial, are given. Symmetric $τ$ functions of C…
We propose a systematic treatment of symmetries of KP integrable systems, including constrained (reduced) KP models ${\sl cKP}_{R,M}$, and their multi-component (matrix) generalizations. Any such integrable hierarchy is shown to possess an additional $({\hat U}(1)\oplus{\hat {SL}}(M))_{+} \oplus ({\hat {SL}}(M+R))_{-}$ loop-algebra symmetry. Also we provide a systematic construction of the full algebra of Virasoro additional symmetries in the case of constrained KP models which requires a nontrivial modification of the known Orlov-Schulman construction for the general unconstrained KP hierarch…
We formulate the constrained KP hierarchy (denoted by \cKP$_{K+1,M}$) as an affine ${\widehat {sl}} (M+K+1)$ matrix integrable hierarchy generalizing the Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy. Using an algebraic approach, including the graded structure of the generalized Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy, we are able to find several new universal results valid for the \cKP hierarchy. In particular, our method yields a closed expression for the second bracket obtained through Dirac reduction of any untwisted affine Kac-Moody current algebra. An explicit example is given for the case ${\widehat {sl}} (M+K+1)$, fo…
The bilinear equations of the $N$-component KP and BKP hierarchies and a corresponding extended Miwa transformation allow us to generate quadrilateral and circular lattices from conjugate and orthogonal nets, respectively. The main geometrical objects are expressed in terms of Baker functions.
