Recently we have presented an analysis of flavor changing neutral coupling mediated radiative top quark decays at next-to-leading order in QCD. In the present paper we provide the details of the calculation of QCD corrections to t-> q gamma and t-> q Z decays within the effective theory approach including operator mixing. In particular, we calculate virtual matrix element corrections and the corresponding bremsstrahlung contributions. In the case of t-> q gamma we study the effects of kinematic cuts on the extracted branching ratios. Analytical formulae are given at all stages of the calculation. We find that the t-> q gamma decay can be used to probe also the effective operators mediating t-> q g processes, since these can naturally contribute 10% or more to the radiative decay, given typical experimental cuts on the decay kinematics at hadron colliders. Conversely, we argue that any positive experimental signal of the t-> q g process would indicate a natural lower bound on t-> q gamma decay rate.
Gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking is known to greatly suppress flavor changing neutral current effects. However, we show that gauge mediation in the context of leptogenesis implies potentially large lepton flavor violating signals. If the heavy right-handed neutrinos that participate in leptogenesis are lighter than the messenger scale of gauge mediation, they will induce flavor off-diagonal masses to the sleptons which in turn can induce large effects in mu to e gamma, tau to mu gamma, and mu-e conversion in nuclei. We demonstrate this result and compute numerically the lepton-flavor viol…
We study the effect of both Z and Z'-mediated flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNCs) on the $ lambda_b arrow lambda l^+l^- (l = mu, tau) $ rare decay. We find the branching ratio is reasonably enhanced from its standard model value due to the effect of both Z and Z'-mediated FCNCs, and gives the possibility of new physics beyond the standard model. The contribution of Z'-boson depends upon the precise value of the mass of Z' boson.
The quark and lepton mass matrices possess approximate flavor symmetries. Several results follow if the interactions of new scalars possess these approximate symmetries. Present experimental bounds allow these exotic scalars to have a weak scale mass. The Glashow-Weinberg criterion is rendered unnecessary. Finally, rare leptonic B meson decays provide powerful probes of these scalars, especially if they are leptoquarks.
We suggest a solution to the μproblem of gauge mediated supersymmtery breaking models based on flavor symmetries. In this scenario the μterm arises through the vacuum expectation value of a singlet scalar field which is suppressed by a flavor symmetry factor relative to the scale of dynamical SUSY breaking. The same flavor symmetry also ensures that the soft SUSY breaking parameter Bμis not much larger than μ^2, a necessary condition for the stability of electroweak symmetry breaking. Explicit examples where Bμ~ μ^2 and Bμ<< μ^2 are presented. The latter case provides a natural solution to the…
In the light of the recent measurement of the muon anmalous magnetic moment $a_μ$ by the Muon $(g-2)$ Collaboration, we examine the contribution to $a_μ$ from the exchange of flavor changing scalars. Assuming that the heavier generations have larger flavor changing couplings, we obtain a bound on $μ- τ$ Yukawa coupling for a given scalar mass. Constraints on other flavor changing/conserving couplings are also obtained from the lepton flavor violating decays of muon and tau lepton, and bounds on the branching ratio of $τ\to 3 e$, $μ\to 3 e$ and $τ\to e μe$ processes are predicted.
In the scenario with Z mediated flavor changing neutral current occurring at the tree level due to the addition of a vector-like isosinglet down-type quark d' to the SM particle spectrum, we perform a chi square fit using the flavor physics data and obtain the best fit value along with errors of the tree level Zbs coupling, U_{sb}. The fit indicates that the new physics coupling is constrained to be small: we obtain |U_{sb}| <= 3.40 X 10^{-4} at 3 sigma. Still this does allow for the possibility of new physics signals in some of the observables such as semileptonic CP asymmetry in Bs decays.
In the two-Higgs doublet extension of the standard model, flavor-changing neutral couplings arise naturally. In the lepton sector, the largest such coupling is expected to be $μ-τ-ϕ#. We consider the effects of this coupling on the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. The resulting bound on the coupling, unlike previous bounds, is independent of the value of other unknown couplings. It will be significantly improved by the upcoming E821 experiment at Brookhaven National Lab.
We study the effect of -mediated flavor-changing neutral current on the decays. The branching ratios of these decays can be enhanced remarkably in the non-universal model. Our estimated branching ratios are enhanced significantly from their standard model (SM) value. For = 1, the branching ratios are very close to the recently observed experimental values and for higher values of branching ratios are more. Our calculated branching ratios and are also enhanced from the SM value as well as the recently observed experimental values. These enhancements of branching ratios from their SM value give …
Higgs mediated flavor violating electromagnetic interactions, induced at the one--loop level by a nondiagonal $Hf_if_j$ vertex, with $f_i$ and $f_j$ charged leptons or quarks, are studied within the context of a completely general effective Yukawa sector that comprises $SU_L(2)\times U_Y(1)$--invariant operators of up to dimension--six. Exact formulae for the one--loop $γf_if_j$ and $γγf_if_j$ couplings are presented and their related processes used to study the phenomena of Higgs mediated lepton flavor violation. The experimental limit on the $μ\to eγ$ decay is used to derive a bound on the b…
We consider lepton flavor violations (LFV) mediated by photino as a result of the nondiagonal slepton mass matrices in general supersymmetric models. Using the experimental upper bounds on l \to l' + gamma and mu^- + Ti \to e^- + Ti as constraints on the flavor changing slepton mass insertions, we predict the possible ranges of the upper limits on the branching ratios of other LFV processes such as l \to 3l', tau \to l_{i\neq 3} + pi^0 (or eta, rho^0, phi), Z^0 \to l_i bar{l}_{j\neq i}, and muonium \to antimuonium conversion. Most of these decays are expected to occur with small branching rati…
In recent years, $B_s$ decays into $tau^+tau^-$ has attracted a lot of attention since it is very sensitive to the structure of standard model (SM) and potential source of new physics beyond SM. In this paper, we study the effect of both Z and -mediated flavor-changing neutral currents on the $B_s$ decays into $tau^+tau^-$. We find the branching ratio of $B_s$ decays into $tau^+tau^-$ is enhanced relative to SM prediction, which would help to explain the recent observed CP-violation from like-sign dimuon charge asymmetry in the B system.
We explore the flavor-changing parameters mediated by a Higgs boson within the THDM-III context. In particular, the $h\to t^* c$ processes, and check the high suppression for the FC in the THDM-III context for the low $t_β$ parameters. Our exploration in the $χ_{ij}^{u}-χ_{ij}^{d}-$parameter space shows the allowed regions for different $t_β^{}$ values. We explored different modes for Higgs decays, considered the experimental constraints to get scattering plots for the FC parameters and some relevant decay modes. We expect future results to figure out the FC and its implications in the scalar …
In the context of a warped extra-dimension with Standard Model fields in the bulk, we obtain the general flavor structure of the Radion couplings to fermions and show that the result is independent on the particular nature of the Higgs mechanism (bulk or brane localized). These couplings will be generically misaligned with respect to the fermion mass matrix when the fermion bulk mass parameters are not all degenerate. When the Radion is light enough, the generic size of these tree-level flavor changing couplings will be strongly constrained by the experimental bounds on $ΔF=2$ processes. At th…
The size of the branching ratios for the $τ\to μγ$ and $τ\to μγγ$ decays induced by a lepton flavor violating Higgs interaction $Hτμ$ is studied in the frame of effective field theories. The best constraint on the $Hτμ$ vertex, derived from the know measurement on the muon anomalous magnetic moment, is used to impose the upper bounds $Br(τ\to μγ)<2.5\times 10^{-10}$ and $Br(τ\to μγγ)<2.3\times 10^{-12}$, which are more stringent than current experimental limits on this class of transitions.
We study the effect of the FCNC mediated $Z$ boson in the rare semileptonic baryonic decays $Λ_b \to Λl^+ l^-$. We consider the model where the standard model fermion sector is extended by an extra vector like down quark, as a consequence of which it allows CP violating Z mediated flavor changing neutral current at the tree level. We find that due to this non-universal $Zbs $ coupling, branching ratios of the rare semileptonic $Λ_b$ decays are enhanced reasonably from their corresponding standard model values and the zero point of the forward backward asymmetry for $Λ_b \to Λμ^+ μ^-$ is shifte…
We study the three body lepton flavor violating (LFV) decays $μ^- \to e^- e^+ e^-$, $τ^- \to l_i^- l_j^+ l_j^-$ and the semileptonic decay $τ\to μϕ$ in the flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) mediated $Z$ boson model. We also calculate the branching ratios for LFV leptonic B decays, $B_{d,s} \to μe$, $B_{d,s} \to τe$, $B_{d,s} \to τμ$ and the conversion of muon to electron in Ti nucleus. The new physics parameter space is constrained by using the experimental limits on $μ^- \to e^- e^+ e^-$ and $τ^- \to μ^- μ^+ μ^-$. We find that the branching ratios for $τ\to eee $ and $τ\to μϕ$ processes …
We analyze the effect of the non-universal $Z$ boson in the rare decays $B_s \to l^+ l^- $, $B_s \to l^+ l^- γ$ and $Z \to b \bar s$ decays. These decays involve the FCNC mediated $ b \to s $ transitions, and are found to be very small in the standard model. The smallness of these decays in the standard model makes them sensitive probe for new physics. We find an enhancement of at least an order in these branching ratios because of the non-universal $Zbs$ coupling.
We consider the Minimal Gauge Mediated Model (MGMM) with either fundamental or antisymmetric messenger multiplets and study consequences of messenger-matter mixing. We find that in these models, unlike MGMM without mixing, wide range of $\tanβ$ is allowed. It is shown that existing experimental limits on processes with lepton flavor violation, and on $K^0-\bar{K}^0$, $D^0-\bar{D}^0$ and $B^0-\bar{B}^0$ - mixing place significant constraints on relevant coupling constants and mixing parameters. On the other hand, the contributions of the messenger-matter mixing to the rates of $τ\to eγ$, $τ\to …
The simplest extension of the standard model involves adding a scalar doublet--the so-called two-Higgs model. In general, the additional scalar will mediate tree-level flavor-changing neutral currents. Although one can arbitrarily impose a discrete symmetry to avoid these, it isn't necessary to do so; reasonable assumptions about the size of the flavor-changing couplings can make them sufficiently small as to avoid problems in the kaon sector. However, these same assumptions give much larger effects in the third-family case. We discuss the model, the "reasonable assumptions" on the size of the…
We study the rare semileptonic and radiative leptonic B_s decays in the universal extra dimension model. In this scenario, with a single extra dimension, there exists only one new parameter beyond those of the standard model, which is the inverse of the compactification radius R. We find that with the additional contributions due to the KK modes the branching ratios of the rare B_s decays are enhanced from their corresponding standard model values and the zero point of the forward backward asymmetries are shifted towards the left.
While charged lepton flavor violation (cLFV) with taus is often expected to be largest in many extensions of the Standard Model (SM), it is currently much less constrained than cLFV with electrons and muons. We study the sensitivity of the LHeC to $e$-$τ$ (and $e$-$μ$) conversion processes $p e^- \to τ^- + j$ (and $p e^- \to μ^- + j$) mediated by a $Z'$ with flavor-violating couplings to charged leptons in the $t$-channel. Compared to current tests at the LHC, where cLFV decays of the $Z'$ (produced in the s-channel) are searched for, the LHeC has sensitivity to much higher $Z'$ masses, up to …
We study the effects of an extra U(1)' gauge boson with flavor changing couplings with fermion mass eigenstates on certain B meson decays that are sensitive to such new physics contributions. In particular, we examine to what extent the current data on B_d -> ϕK, B_d -> η' K and B_s -> μ^+ μ^- decays may be explained in such models, concentrating on the example in which the flavor changing couplings are left-chiral. We find that within reasonable ranges of parameters, the Z' contribution can readily account for the anomaly in S_{ϕK_S} but is not sufficient to explain large branching ratio of B…
The phenomenology of a new economical SUSY model that utilizes dynamical SUSY breaking and gauge-mediation (GM) for the generation of the sparticle spectrum and the hierarchy of fermion masses is discussed. Similarities between the communication of SUSY breaking through a messenger sector, and the generation of flavor using the Froggatt-Nielsen (FN) mechanism are exploited, leading to the identification of vector-like messenger fields with FN fields, and the messenger U(1) as a flavor symmetry. An immediate consequence is that the first and second generation scalars acquire flavor-dependent ma…
We study rare four-body decays of the Z-boson involving at least one neutrino and one charged lepton. Large destructive interferences make these decays very sensitive to the Z couplings to neutrinos. As the identified charged leptons can determine the neutrino flavors, these decays probe the universality of the Z couplings to neutrinos. The rare four-body processes could be accurately measured at future lepton colliders, leading to percent level precision.
The appearance of a natural dark matter candidate, the neutralino, is among the principal successes of minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) and its descendents. In lieu of a suitable ultraviolet completion, however, theories of gravity-mediated supersymmetry breaking such as mSUGRA suffer from arbitrary degrees of flavor violation. Though theories of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking are free from such prohibitive flavor violation, they typically lack natural neutralino dark matter candidates. Yet this conventional dichotomy breaks down when the hidden sector is strongly coupled; in models of gau…
We investigate the effects of flavor dependence on the rare weak decays of $ B_c^{*} $ and $B_s^{*}$ mesons to psuedoscalar and vector mesons in the final state. We use the Bauer-Stech-Wirbel model framework to calculate the flavor dependent effects of transverse quark momentum on the form factors and consequently, the branching ratios of Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa favored and suppressed modes by employing the factorization hypothesis. We find that the flavor dependent effects significantly enhance the form factors and, consequently, the branching ratios. Some of the decay channels in $ B_c^{*}…
SUSY_FLAVOUR 2.0 is a FORTRAN code calculating over 30 low-energy flavour- and CP-related observables in the R-parity conserving MSSM. The code admits for the most general flavour structure of the SUSY breaking terms and complex flavour-diagonal couplings. It includes the numerically important resummation of chirally enhanced effects and it is fast enough for scanning over a large SUSY-parameter space. The program can be obtained from http://www.fuw.edu.pl/susy_flavor.
Due to the smallness of the lepton Yukawa couplings, higher-dimensional operators can give a significant contribution to the lepton masses. In this case, the lepton mass matrix and the matrix of lepton-Higgs couplings are misaligned leading to lepton flavor violation (LFV) mediated by the Standard Model Higgs boson. We derive model-independent bounds on the Higgs flavor violating couplings and quantify LFV in decays of leptons and electric dipole moments for a class of lepton-Higgs operators contributing to lepton masses. We find significant Higgs-mediated LFV effects at both 1-loop and 2-loop…
The process gamma gamma \to mu tau b bbar is studied in the minimal supersymmetric standard model within a large tan_beta scenario imposing on the parameter space present direct and indirect constraints from B physics and rare LFV tau-decays. At a photon collider based on an e+e- linear collider with a center of mass energy of 800 GeV with the parameters of the TESLA proposal (expected integrated gamma-gamma luminosity L=200-500 inverse fb) the LFV signal can be probed for masses of the heavy neutral Higgs bosons A,H from 300 GeV up to the kinematical limit ~ 600 GeV for tan_beta in the range …
We study a new signature of lepton flavor violation (LFV) at the Photon Collider (PC) within Supersymmetric (SUSY) theories. We consider the minimal supersymmetric standard model within a large $\tanβ$ scenario with all superpartner masses in the ${\cal O}$(TeV) while the heavy Higgs bosons masses lie below the TeV and develop sizable loop induced LFV couplings to the leptons. We consider a photon collider based on an $e^+e^-$ linear collider with $\sqrt{s}=800$ GeV with the parameters of the TESLA proposal and show that, with the expected integrated $γγ$-luminosity $L_{γγ}=200÷500$ fb$^{-1}$,…
In certain class of flux compactification, moduli mediated supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking preserves flavor and CP at leading order in the perturbative expansion controlled by the vacuum expectation value of the messenger modulus. Nevertheless there still might be dangerous flavor or CP violation induced by higher order Kähler potential. We examine the constraints on such SUSY breaking scheme imposed by low energy flavor and/or CP violating observables. It is found that all phenomenological constraints can be satisfied even for generic form of higher order Kähler potential and sparticle spectra …
We consider the standard model with two Higgs doublets with the most general Yukawa coupling terms (``type III''). In the model, the neutral-Higgs-mediated flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNC's) are allowed, but must be reasonably suppressed at low energies of probes. It has been known that the existing hierarchies of quark masses render this suppression at low energies rather natural. On the other hand, the model has been regarded by many as unnatural because of the absence of any symmetry that would ensure persistence of this suppression as the energy of probes increases. The opinion has …
This Letter addresses a provocative question: ``Can the standard electroweak Higgs doublets and their color-triplet partners be the messengers of a low energy gauge-mediated SUSY breaking?" Such a possibility does not seem to be immediately ruled out. If so, it can lead to a very economical scheme with clear-cut predictions quite distinct from those of the conventional gauge-mediated scenario. Namely, we get (i) a single light Higgs below the original SUSY- breaking scale; (ii) tan(beta) = 1; (iii) flavor non-universal, but automatically flavor-conserving soft scalar masses; (iv) a light color…
In this paper, we calculate the decay rates of $D^+ \to D^0 e^+ ν$, $D^+_S \to D^0 e^+ ν$, $B^0_S \to B^+ e^- \barν$, $D^+_S \to D^+ e^- e^+$ and $B^0_S \to B^0 e^-e^+$ semileptonic decay processes, in which only the light quarks decay, while the heavy flavors remain unchanged. The branching ratios of these decay processes are calculated with the flavor SU(3) symmetry. The uncertainties are estimated by considering the SU(3) breaking effect. We find that the decay rates are very tiny in the framework of the Standard Model. We also estimate the sensitivities of the measurements of these rare de…
We study the effect of the FCNC on rare $B$ decays in the beyond standard model with vector like singlet quarks. It has been shown that $b \rightarrow s γ$ does not receive sizable contribution compared with that of the standard model while $b \rightarrow d γ$, $b \rightarrow s(d) l^+ l^-$, can be changed from the predictions of the standard model.
We study a version of Two Higgs Doublet Models with non-standard flavor violation in the up quark sector. We find branching ratios for the rare top decays $t\to hc$ and $t\to hu$ that are within reach of current and future colliders, while other flavor constraints from rare $B$ decays and neutral $D$ meson mixing, as well as constraints from Higgs signal strength measurements remain under control. The most prominent collider signature of the considered setup is $pp \to t H \to tt \bar c$, providing continued motivation to search for same-sign tops at the LHC as well as a simple framework to in…
The rare top quark decays mediated by a new neutral massive gauge boson that is predicted in models with extended gauge symmetries are studied. We focus on the processes $t\to cV, uV$ induced at the one loop level, where $V =γ, g$, by considering different extended models. It is found that, within a broad range of mass of the new neutral gauge boson, the models predict branching ratios for the decays in study that are competitive with respect to the corresponding branching ratios in the standard model. In order to establish bound on our branching ratios, we consider the recent experimental bou…
We analyze the rare and flavor changing decay of the top quark into a charm quark and a gauge boson in the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT). We calculate the one-loop level contributions from the T-parity odd mirror quarks and gauge bosons. We find that the decay $t\to c V, (V=g,γ,Z)$ in the LHT model can be significantly enhanced relative to those in the Standard Model. Our numerical results show that the top quark FCNC decay can be as large as $Br(t\to cg)\sim 10^{-2}$, $Br(t\to cZ)\sim 10^{-5}$ and $Br(t\to cγ)\sim 10^{-7}$ in the favorite parameter space in the LHT model.
Prospective searches for lepton flavor violation (LFV) in rare kaon decays at the existing and future intermediate-energy accelerators are considered. The proposed studies are complementary to LFV searches in muon-decay experiments and offer a unique opportunity to probe models with approximately conserved fermion-generation quantum number with sensitivity superior to that in other processes. Consequently, new searches for LFV in kaon decays are an important and independent part of the general program of searches for lepton flavor violation in the final states with charged leptons.
Updated standard model predictions for $D_{(s)} \to P l^+ l^-$, $l=e,μ$, $P=π,K$ and inclusive decays are presented. Model-independent constraints on $|ΔC|=|ΔU|=1$ Wilson coefficients are worked out. New physics (NP) opportunities arise in semileptonic branching ratios for very large couplings only, however, are not excluded outside the resonance regions yet. The NP potential of resonance-assisted CP asymmetries and angular observables is worked out. Predictions are given for leptoquark models, and include lepton flavor violating and dineutrino decays. Whether NP can be seen depends on flavor …
The most general two-Higgs doublet model (2HDM) includes potentially large sources of flavor changing neutral currents (FCNCs) that must be suppressed in order to achieve a phenomenologically viable model. The flavor alignment ansatz postulates that all Yukawa coupling matrices are diagonal when expressed in the basis of mass-eigenstate fermion fields, in which case tree-level Higgs mediated FCNCs are eliminated. In this work, we explore models with the flavor alignment condition imposed at a very high energy scale, which results in the generation of Higgs-mediated FCNCs via renormalization gr…
In the framework of topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) theory, we calculate the contributions of the scalars(the neutral top-pion $π_{t}^{0}$ and the top-Higgs $h_{t}^{0}$) to the flavor-changing rare top decays $t\to c V V$(V= W, g, $γ$ or Z). Our results show that $h_{t}^{0}$ can enhance the standard model $B_{r}^{SM}(t\longrightarrow cWW)$ by several orders of magnitude for most of the parameter space. The peak of the branching ratio resonance emerges when the top-Higgs mass is between $2m_{W}$ and $m_{t}$. The branching ratio $ B_{r}(t\to c W W)$ can reach $ 10^{-3}$ in the narrow range.
We investigate flavor violation mediated by Higgs bosons and supersymmetric particles in a predictive class of models based on the non-Abelian flavor symmetry Q_6. These models, which aim to reduce the number of parameters of the fermion sector and to solve the flavor changing problems of generic SUSY setup, assume three families of Higgs bosons and spontaneous/soft violation of CP symmetry. Tree-level contributions to meson-antimeson mixings mediated by Higgs bosons are shown to be within experimental limits for Higgs masses in the (1-5) TeV range. Calculable flavor violation induced by SUSY …
We consider the minimal supersymmetric standard model within a scenario of large $\tanβ$ and heavy squarks and gluinos, with masses of the heavy neutral Higgs bosons below the TeV scale. We allow for the presence of a large, model independent, source of lepton flavor violation (LFV) in the slepton mass matrix in the $τ-μ$ sector by the mass insertion approximation. We constrain the parameter space using the $τ$ LFV decays together with the $B$-mesons physics observables, the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon and the dark matter relic density. We further impose the exclusion limit on spin-i…
The possibility of detecting double flavor violating top quark transitions at future colliders is explored in a model-independent manner using the effective Lagrangian approach through the $t \to u_iτμ$ ($u_i=u,c$) decays. A Yukawa sector that contemplates $SU_L(2)\times U_Y(1)$ invariants of up to dimension six is proposed and used to derive the most general flavor violating and CP violating $q_iq_jH$ and $l_il_jH$ vertices of renormalizable type. Low-energy data, on high precision measurements, and experimental limits are used to constraint the $tu_iH$ and $Hτμ$ vertices and then used to pre…
In the context of a warped extra-dimension with Standard Model fields in the bulk, we obtain the general flavor structure of the Higgs couplings to fermions. These couplings will be generically misaligned with respect to the fermion mass matrix, producing large and potentially dangerous flavor changing neutral currents (FCNC's). As recently pointed out in [arXiv:0906.1542], a similar effect is expected from the point of view of a composite Higgs sector, which corresponds to a 4D theory dual to the 5D setup by the AdS-CFT correspondence. We also point out that the effect is independent of the g…
We discuss the Flavor-Changing Neutral Current (FCNC) decays of the top quark t -> c Vi Vj (Vi=gamma, Z, g) in the framework of the Standard Model (SM) and in a two-higgs doublet model (2HDM) with tree-level FCNC couplings. While in the SM the expected branching ratios are extremelly small, in the 2HDM they may be sizable, of order 10^(-5) - 10^(-5), and thus accesible at the CERN LHC. We conclude with the interesting observation that the FCNC decay modes may not be equally suppressed as their corresponding decays t ->c Vi in this 2HDM.
We study lepton flavor number violating rare B decays, $b \to s l_h^{\pm} l_l^{\mp}$, in a seesaw model with low scale singlet Majorana neutrinos motivated by the resonant leptogenesis scenario. The branching ratios of inclusive decays $ b \to s l_h^{\pm} \bar{l_l}^{\mp} $ with two almost degenerate singlet neutrinos at TeV scale are investigated in detail. We find that there exists a class of seesaw model in which the branching fractions of $ b \to s τμ$ and $τ\to μγ$ can be as large as $10^{-10}$ and $10^{-9}$ within the reach of Super B factories, respectively, without being in conflict wit…
We discuss the $μ$-$e$ transition processes induced by non-holomorphic Yukawa interactions in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). When supersymmetry is broken, the coupling structures between Higgs doublets and leptons are modified and flavor-changing neutral currents could be generated. In the framework of the MSSM, we calculate those effects to the rates for $\meg$, $\meee$, and $μ$-$e$ conversion in nuclei. We perform more detailed calculations of the lepton flavor violating (LFV) operators in the heavy Higgs decoupling limit than previous works, and show the accurate $\tanβ$ …
We present a supersymmetric model of flavor. A single U(1) gauge group is responsible for both generating the flavor spectrum and communicating supersymmetry breaking to the visible sector. The problem of Flavor Changing Neutral Currents is overcome, in part using an `Effective Supersymmetry' spectrum among the squarks, with the first two generations very heavy. All masses are generated dynamically and the theory is completely renormalizable. The model contains a simple Froggatt-Nielsen sector and communicates supersymmetry breaking via gauge mediation without requiring a separate messenger se…
We study the novel features in a model with Gauge Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking. If the messenger fields have positive R-parity, there will be new sources of flavor violations. We show that the dimension-5 operators will be quite important. When dressing these operators by wino-loops, the constraints on them by the present data are given.
In the context of general Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), new sources for Lepton Flavor Violation (LFV) as well as CP-violation appear. We show that in the presence of LFV sources, the electric dipole moment of the electron ($d_e$) can receive new contributions. In particular, $d_e$ can receive a significant contribution at one loop level from the phase of the trilinear $A$-term of the staus, $ϕ_{A_τ}$. We discuss how we can derive information on $ϕ_{A_τ}$ by combining the information on $d_e$ with that on the LFV decay modes of the $τ$ lepton. We then discuss if this approach ca…
The lepton flavor violating decay of the Higgs boson $H\to l_Al_B$ is studied within two qualitatively different extensions of the Yukawa sector: one renormalizable and the other nonrenormalizable; both incorporating Lorentz violation in a model-independent fashion. These extensions are characterized by Yukawa-like matrices, the former by a constant Lorentz 2-tensor $Y^{AB}_{μν}$, whereas the latter by a constant Lorentz vector $Y^{AB}_μ$. It is found that the experimental constraints on the decays $l_A\to l_Bγ$ severely restrict lepton flavor violating Higgs signals in the renormalizable scen…
In light of a discrepancy of the direct $CP$ violation in $K\toππ$ decays, $\varepsilon'/\varepsilon_K$, we investigate gluino contributions to the electroweak penguin, where flavor violations are induced by squark trilinear couplings. Top-Yukawa contributions to $ΔS = 2$ observables are taken into account, and vacuum stability conditions are evaluated in detail. It is found that this scenario can explain the discrepancy of $\varepsilon'/\varepsilon_K$ for the squark mass smaller than 5.6 TeV. We also show that the gluino contributions can amplify $\mathcal{B}(K \to πν\overlineν)$, $\mathcal{B…
In the standard model (SM), lepton flavor violating (LFV) Higgs decay is absent at renormalizable level and thus it is a good probe to new physics. In this article we study a type of new physics that could lead to large LFV Higgs decay, i.e., a lepton-flavored dark matter (DM) model which is specified by a Majorana DM and scalar lepton mediators. Different from other similar models with similar setup, we introduce both left-handed and right-handed scalar leptons. They allow large LFV Higgs decay and thus may explain the tentative Br$(h\raτμ)\sim1\%$ experimental results from the LHC. In partic…
In this paper we study lepton flavor violating semileptonic decays of heavy baryons in a framework of a model with large extra dimensions and a single generation . Resulting branching ratios for these decays mediated by Kaluza-Klein modes of photon and Z-boson are presented in a model-independent form.
We study lepton flavor violation (LFV) associated with tau leptons in the framework of the two Higgs doublet model, in which LFV couplings are introduced as a deviation from Model II Yukawa interaction. Parameters of the model are constrained from experimental results and also from requirements of theoretical consistencies such as vacuum stability and perturbative unitarity. Current data for rare tau decays provide substantial upper limits on the LFV Yukawa couplings in the large $\tanβ$ region ($\tanβ\gtrsim 30 $), which are comparable with predictions in fundamental theories. Here $\tanβ$ is…
