We introduce deformations of Kazhdan-Lusztig elements and specialised nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials, both of which form a distinguished basis of the polynomial representation of a maximal parabolic subalgebra of the Hecke algebra. We give explicit integral formula for these polynomials, and explicitly describe the transition matrices between classes of polynomials. We further develop a combinatorial interpretation of homogeneous evaluations using an expansion in terms of Schubert polynomials in the deformation parameters.
We provide combinatorial rules to compute Kazhdan--Lusztig polynomials for the Hermitian symmetric pair $(B_N,A_{N-1})$ when the Hecke algebra has unequal parameters. They are obtained by filling regions delimited by paths with ballot strips. We also extend the binary tree algorithm introduced by Lascoux and Schützenberger to our case.
Motivated by studying the Unitary Dual Problem, a variation of Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials was defined in [Yee08] which encodes signature information at each level of the Jantzen filtration. Kazhdan and Lusztig define, for an arbitrary Coxeter system $(W,S)$, a family of polynomials indexed by pairs of elements of $W$. Despite their relevance and elementary definition, the explicit computation of these polynomials is still one of the hardest open problems in algebraic combinatorics. In this paper we explicitly compute Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials for a Coxeter system of type $\tilde{B}_2$.

Immanants are functions on square matrices generalizing the determinant and permanent. Kazhdan-Lusztig immanants, which are indexed by permutations, involve $q=1$ specializations of Type A Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials, and were defined in (Rhoades-Skandera, 2006). We study equivalence classes relating to the Kazhdan-Lusztig mu(x,w) coefficients in order to help explain the scarcity of distinct values. Each class is conjectured to contain a "crosshatch" pair. We also compute the values attained by mu(x,w) for the permutation groups S_10 and S_11.
The intersection cohomologies of closures of nilpotent orbits of linear (respectively, cyclic) quivers are known to be described by Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials for the symmetric group (respectively, the affine symmetric group). We establish a formalism for working with incidence algebras of posets with symmetries, and we develop equivariant Kazhdan-Lusztig-Stanley theory within this formalism. This gives a new way of thinking about the equivariant Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomial and equivariant Z-polynomial of a matroid.

In this note, we show that certain dual canonical basis elements of $\mathbb{C}[SL_m]$ are positive when evaluated on $k$-positive matrices, matrices whose minors of size $k \times k$ and smaller are positive. Skandera showed that all dual canonical basis elements of $\mathbb{C}[SL_m]$ can be written in terms of Kazhdan-Lusztig immanants, which were introduced by Rhoades and Skandera. Based on empirical evidence obtained using the {\sf CHEVIE} computer algebra system, we present a series of conjectures concerning the combinatorial description of the Kazhdan--Lusztig cells for type $B_n$ with unequal parameters. These conjectures form a far-reaching extension of the results of Bonnafé and Iancu obtained earlier in the so-called ``asymptotic case''. We give some partial results in support of our conjectures.
We study the projective objects in an exact category naturally associated to a Coxeter system. We discuss an analog of the Kazhdan-Lusztig conjecture and show how it follows from a "genericity" conjecture and how the latter follows from a "Hard Lefschetz" conjecture.

In this paper we study the interplay between the operation of circuit-hyperplane relaxation and the Kazhdan--Lusztig theory of matroids. We obtain a family of polynomials, not depending on the matroids but only on their ranks, that relate the Kazhdan--Lusztig, the inverse Kazhdan--Lusztig and the $Z$-polynomial of each matroid with those of its relaxations. As an application of our main theorem, we prove that all matroids having a free basis are non-degenerate. We associate a quasisymmetric function to any Bruhat interval in a general Coxeter group. This association can be seen to be a morphism of Hopf algebras to the subalgebra of all peak functions, leading to an extension of the cd-index of convex polytopes. We show how the Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomial of the Bruhat interval can be expressed in terms of this complete cd-index and otherwise explicit combinatorially defined polynomials. In particular, we obtain the simplest closed formula for the Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials that holds in complete generality.
The equivariant Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomial of a matroid was introduced by Gedeon, Proudfoot, and Young. Gedeon conjectured an explicit formula for the equivariant Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials of thagomizer matroids with an action of symmetric groups. In this paper, we discover a new formula for these polynomials which is related to the equivariant Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials of uniform matroids. Based on our new formula, we confirm Gedeon's conjecture by the Pieri rule.
We formulate a general super duality conjecture on connections between parabolic categories O of modules over Lie superalgebras and Lie algebras of type A, based on a Fock space formalism of their Kazhdan-Lusztig theories which was initiated by Brundan. We develop an algorithm for computing affine Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials, for all Lie types. This generalizes our previously published algorithm for type A, which in turn is a faster version of an algorithm due to Lascouz, Leclerc and Thibon (proposed in the setting of Hecke algebras of type A, at roots of unity.)
Kazhdan-Lusztig-Stanley polynomials are a combinatorial generalization of Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials of for Coxeter groups that include g-polynomials of polytopes and Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials of matroids. In the cases of Weyl groups, rational polytopes, and realizable matroids, one can count points over finite fields on flag varieties, toric varieties, or reciprocal planes to obtain cohomological interpretations of these polynomials. We survey these results and unite them under a single geometric framework.

We introduce $q$-analogues of uniform matroids, which we call $q$-niform matroids. While uniform matroids admit actions of symmetric groups, $q$-niform matroids admit actions of finite general linear groups. We show that the equivariant Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomial of a $q$-niform matroid is the unipotent $q$-analogue of the equivariant Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomial of the corresponding uniform matroid, thus providing evidence for the positivity conjecture for equivariant Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials.
From the combinatorial characterizations of the right, left, and two-sided Kazhdan-Lusztig cells of the symmetric group, 'RSK bases' are constructed for certain quotients by two-sided ideals of the group ring and the Hecke algebra. Applications to invariant theory, over various base rings, of the general linear group and representation theory of the symmetric group are discussed.
We show that the leading coefficient of the Kazhdan--Lusztig polynomial $P_{x,w}(q)$ known as $μ(x,w)$ is always either 0 or 1 when $w$ is a Deodhar element of a finite Weyl group. The Deodhar elements have previously been characterized using pattern avoidance by Billey--Warrington (2001) and Billey--Jones (2007). In type $A$, these elements are precisely the 321-hexagon avoiding permutations. Using Deodhar's (1990) algorithm, we provide some combinatorial criteria to determine when $μ(x,w) = 1$ for such permutations $w$.

We study the way in which equivariant Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials, equivariant inverse Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials, and equivariant Z-polynomials of matroids change under the operation of relaxation of a collection of stressed hyperplanes. This allows us to compute these polynomials for arbitrary paving matroids, which we do in a number of examples, including various matroids associated with Steiner systems that admit actions of Mathieu groups.
We study classes determined by the Kazhdan-Lusztig basis of the Hecke algebra in the $K$-theory and hyperbolic cohomology theory of flag varieties. We first show that, in $K$-theory, the two different choices of Kazhdan-Lusztig bases produce dual bases, one of which can be interpreted as characteristic classes of the intersection homology mixed Hodge modules.
