This paper presents a spatial encryption technique for secured transmission of data in networks. The algorithm is designed to break the ciphered data packets into multiple data which are to be packaged into a spatial template. A secure and efficient mechanism is provided to convey the information that is necessary for obtaining the original data at the receiver-end from its parts in the packets. An authentication code (MAC) is also used to ensure authenticity of every packet.
The McEliece public-key encryption scheme has become an interesting alternative to cryptosystems based on number-theoretical problems. Differently from RSA and ElGa- mal, McEliece PKC is not known to be broken by a quantum computer. Moreover, even tough McEliece PKC has a relatively big key size, encryption and decryption operations are rather efficient. In spite of all the recent results in coding theory based cryptosystems, to the date, there are no constructions secure against chosen ciphertext attacks in the standard model - the de facto security notion for public-key cryptosystems. In thi…
This paper presents a novel and robust chaos-based cryptosystem for secure transmitted images and four other versions. In the proposed block encryption/decryption algorithm, a 2D chaotic map is used to shuffle the image pixel positions. Then, substitution (confusion) and permutation (diffusion) operations on every block, with multiple rounds, are combined using two perturbed chaotic PWLCM maps. The perturbing orbit technique improves the statistical properties of encrypted images. The obtained error propagation in various standard cipher block modes demonstrates that the proposed cryptosystem …
This paper presents a configurable lattice cryptography processor which enables quantum-resistant security protocols for IoT. Efficient sampling architectures, coupled with a low-power SHA-3 core, provide two orders of magnitude energy savings over software. A single-port RAM-based NTT architecture is proposed, which provides ~124k-gate area savings. This is the first ASIC implementation which demonstrates multiple lattice-based protocols proposed for NIST post-quantum standardization.
This paper presents a new probabilistic approach to embedding message text on an elliptic curve, by using the concept of the RSA Algorithm and its security, and such approach allows us discovering the message from the point, only according to the security of the RSA Algorithm. By mixing between the concept of this approach and the concept of EC-ELGamal Cryptographic System, we have built a cryptographic System and we named it 'EC-RSA-ELGamal'
In this paper we present a new pseudorandom number generator (PRNG) on graphics processing units (GPU). This PRNG is based on the so-called chaotic iterations. It is firstly proven to be chaotic according to the Devaney's formulation. We thus propose an efficient implementation for GPU that successfully passes the BigCrush tests, deemed to be the hardest battery of tests in TestU01. Experiments show that this PRNG can generate about 20 billion of random numbers per second on Tesla C1060 and NVidia GTX280 cards. It is then established that, under reasonable assumptions, the proposed PRNG can be…
Multidimensional signals like 2-D and 3-D images or videos are inherently sensitive signals which require privacy-preserving solutions when processed in untrustworthy environments, but their efficient encrypted processing is particularly challenging due to their structure, dimensionality and size. This work introduces a new cryptographic hard problem denoted m-RLWE (multivariate Ring Learning with Errors) which generalizes RLWE, and proposes several relinearization-based techniques to efficiently convert signals with different structures and dimensionalities. The proposed hard problem and the …
The field of lightweight cryptography has been gaining popularity as traditional cryptographic techniques are challenging to implement in resource-limited environments. This research paper presents an approach to utilizing the ESP32 microcontroller as a hardware platform to implement a lightweight cryptographic algorithm. Our approach employs KATAN32, the smallest block cipher of the KATAN family, with an 80-bit key and 32-bit blocks. The algorithm requires less computational power as it employs an 80 unsigned 64-bit integer key for encrypting and decrypting data. During encryption, a data arr…
To ensure the secure transmission of data, cryptography is treated as the most effective solution. Cryptographic key is an important entity in this procedure. In general, randomly generated cryptographic key (of 256 bits) is difficult to remember. However, such a key needs to be stored in a protected place or transported through a shared communication line which, in fact, poses another threat to security. As an alternative, researchers advocate the generation of cryptographic key using the biometric traits of both sender and receiver during the sessions of communication, thus avoiding key stor…
Context: Cryptographic APIs are said to be not usable and researchers suggest to add example code to the documentation. Aim: We wanted to create a free platform for cryptographic code examples that improves the usability and security of created applications by non security experts. Method: We created the open-source web platform CryptoExamples and conducted a controlled experiment where 58 students added symmetric encryption to a Java program. We then measured the usability and security. Results: The participants who used the platform were not only significantly more effective (+73 %) but also…

Clio insulates developers from explicitly manipulating keys and cryptographic primitives by leveraging the policy language of the IFC system to automatically use the appropriate keys and correct cryptographic operations. We prove that Clio is secure with a novel proof technique that is based on a proof style from cryptography together with standard programming languages results. We present a prototype Clio implementation …
In our proposed work we mainly focus on data security of tenants so that only the authorized user can access the data. To provide this feature we use encryption and decryption process of data so that the only legal tenant can access their particular data. Hence, for security related to data of tenants we implement AES (advanced encryption standard) using cloud SQL. The result obtained from experimental methodology proved that AES gives protection for the data stored in the cloud. We make use of AES algorithm and Google App Engine to supply secured data storage, efficiency, assure availability …
Privacy Preserving Data Mining is a method which ensures privacy of individual information during mining. Most important task involves retrieving information from multiple data bases which is distributed. The data once in the data warehouse can be used by mining algorithms to retrieve confidential information. The proposed framework has two major tasks, secure transmission and privacy of confidential information during mining. Secure transmission is handled by using elliptic curve cryptography and data distortion for privacy preservation ensuring highly secure environment.

A Merkle tree is an information construction that is used in Blockchain to verify data or transactions in a large content pool in a safe manner. The role of the Merkle tree is crucial in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in a Blockchain network. In this paper, we propose a bright and enhanced verification method, Merkle Trim Tree-based Blockchain Authentication (MTTBA) for the hash node traversal to reach the Merkle Root in a minimum time. MTTBA is a unique mechanism for verifying the Merkle Tree's accumulated transactions specifically for an odd number of transactions. The future impact of c…
Research has shown that cryptography concepts are hard to understand for developers, and secure use of cryptography APIs is challenging for mainstream developers. We have developed a fluent API named FluentCrypto to ease the secure and correct adoption of cryptography in the Node.js JavaScript runtime environment. It provides a task-based solution i.e., it hides the low-level complexities that involve using the native Node.js cryptography API, and it relies on the rules that crypto experts specify to determine a secure configuration of the API. We conducted an initial study and found that Flue…
Big data has been a pervasive catchphrase in recent years, but dealing with data scarcity has become a crucial question for many real-world deep learning (DL) applications. A popular methodology to efficiently enable the training of DL models to perform tasks in scenarios with low availability of data is transfer learning (TL). TL allows to transfer knowledge from a general domain to a specific target one. However, such a knowledge transfer may put privacy at risk when it comes to sensitive or private data. With CryptoTL we introduce a solution to this problem, and show for the first time a cr…
The Hill cipher is a classical symmetric encryption algorithm that succumbs to the know-plaintext attack. Although its vulnerability to cryptanalysis has rendered it unusable in practice, it still serves an important pedagogical role in cryptology and linear algebra. In this paper, a variant of the Hill cipher is introduced that makes the Hill cipher secure while it retains the efficiency. The proposed scheme includes a ciphering core for which a cryptographic protocol is introduced.
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are memory and bandwidth limited networks whose main goals are to maximize the network lifetime and minimize the energy consumption and transmission cost. To achieve these goals, dif ferent techniques of compression and clustering have been used. However, security is an open and major issue in WSNs for which different approaches are used, both in centralized and distributed WSNs' environments. This paper presents an adaptive cryptographic scheme for secure transmission of various sensitive parameters, sensed by wireless sensors to the fusion center for further p…
The precise design of a system may be considered a trade secret which should be protected, whilst at the same time component manufacturers are sometimes reluctant to release full test data (perhaps only providing mean time to failure data). In this situation it seems impractical to both produce an accurate reliability assessment and satisfy all parties' privacy requirements. However, we present recent developments in cryptography which, when combined with the recently developed survival signature in reliability theory, allows almost total privacy to be maintained in a cryptographically strong …
Chosen-ciphertext security, which guarantees confidentiality of encrypted messages even in the presence of a decryption oracle, has become the defacto notion of security for public-key encryption under active attack. In this manuscript, for the first time, we propose a new approach for constructing post-quantum cryptosystems secure against adaptive chosen ciphertext attack (CCA2-secure) in the standard model using the knapsack problem. The computational version of the knapsack problem is NP-hard. Thus, this problem is expected to be difficult to solve using quantum computers. Our construction …

As neural networks revolutionize many applications, significant privacy conflicts between model users and providers emerge. The cryptography community developed a variety of techniques for secure computation to address such privacy issues. As generic techniques for secure computation are typically prohibitively ineffective, many efforts focus on optimizing their underlying cryptographic tools. Differently, we propose to optimize the initial design of crypto-oriented neural architectures and provide a novel Partial Activation layer. The proposed layer is much faster for secure computation. Eval…
Recently, a few chosen-ciphertext secure (CCA2-secure) variants of the McEliece public-key encryption (PKE) scheme in the standard model were introduced. All the proposed schemes are based on encryption repetition paradigm and use general transformation from CPA-secure scheme to a CCA2-secure one. Therefore, the resulting encryption scheme needs \textit{separate} encryption and has \textit{large} key size compared to the original scheme, which complex public key size problem in the code-based PKE schemes. Thus, the proposed schemes are not sufficiently efficient to be used in practice. In this…
The paper presents the implementation of a quantum cryptography protocol for secure communication between servers in the cloud. As computing power increases, classical cryptography and key management schemes based on computational complexity become increasingly susceptible to brute force and cryptanalytic attacks. Current implementations of quantum cryptography are based on the BB84 protocol, which is susceptible to siphoning attacks on the multiple photons emitted by practical laser sources. The three-stage protocol, whose implementation is described in this paper, is a departure from convent…

Information security is one of the most challenging problems in today's technological world. In order to secure the transmission of secret data over the public network (Internet), various schemes have been presented over the last decade. Steganography combined with cryptography, can be one of the best choices for solving this problem. This paper proposes a new steganographic method based on gray-level modification for true colour images using image transposition, secret key and cryptography. Both the secret key and secret information are initially encrypted using multiple encryption algorithms…
We are tackling the problem of trading real-world private information using only cryptographic protocols and a public blockchain to guarantee honest transactions. In this project, we consider three types of agents --buyers, sellers and notaries-- interacting in a decentralized privacy-preserving data marketplace (dPDM) such as the Wibson data marketplace. This framework offers infrastructure and financial incentives for individuals to securely sell personal information while preserving personal privacy. Here we provide an efficient cryptographic primitive for the secure exchange of data in a d…
One Achilles heal of classical cryptographic communication systems is that secret communication can only take place after a key is communicated in secret over a totally secure communication channel. Here comes quantum key distribution which takes advantage of certain phenomena that occur at the subatomic level, so that any attempt by an enemy to obtain the bits in a key not only fails, but gets detected as well. This paper proposes the idea of on algorithm, intended to be a quantum network algorithm named Base Selection and Transmission Synchronization - BSTS, which can realize a perfectly sec…
Expanding multi-country emissions trading system is considered as crucial to fill the existing mitigation gap for the 2\degree C climate target. Trustworthy emissions accounting is the cornerstone of such a system encompassing different jurisdictions. However, traditional emissions measuring, reporting, and verification practices that support data authenticity might not be applicable as detailed data from large utilities and production facilities to be covered in the multi-country emissions trading system are usually highly sensitive and of severe national security concern. In this study, we p…
