Based on $122\times 10^6$ \ThreeS events collected with the \babar\ detector, we have observed the \OneDJ bottomonium state through the $\ThreeS\to\g\g\OneDJ\to\g\g\pip\pim\OneS$ decay chain. The significance for the $J=2$ member of the \OneDJ triplet is 5.8 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties. The mass of the $J=2$ state is determined to be $10164.5\pm0.8\,\rm{(stat.)}\pm0.5\,\rm{(syst.)}$~\mevcc.We use the $\pip\pim$ invariant mass distribution to confirm the consistency of the observed state with the orbital angular momentum assignment of the \OneDJ.
Investigation of the bottomonium ground state η_b via its inclusive charm decays
We calculate the branching ratios of chi_{b0} --> tau+ tau- via an s-channel Higgs boson and estimate the sensitivity to this process from Upsilon --> gamma chi_{b0} --> gamma tau+ tau-. We show that future running at the Upsilon(3S) at a very high luminosity super B factory can put significant constraints on the Type-II two-Higgs-doublet model when the discovered 125 GeV Higgs boson is the heavier of the two CP-even scalars.
In the present work, we study the OZI-allowed three body open flavor decay properties of higher vector charmonium and bottomonium states with an extended quark pair creation model. For the bottomonium system, we get that (i) the $BBπ$ and $B^*B^*π$ partial decay widths of the $Υ(5S)$ state are consistent with the experiment, and the $BB^*π$ partial decay width of the $Υ(5S)$ state is smaller but very close to the Belle's experiment. Meanwhile, (ii) the $BB^*π$ and $B^*B^*π$ decay widths of $Υ(11020)$ can reachs $2\sim3$ MeV. In addition, (iii) for the most of higher vector charmonium states, t…
The isovector bottomoniumlike exotic resonances $Z_b(10610)$ and $Z_b(10650)$ are very close to the thresholds of heavy meson pairs $B \bar B^* \, ( \bar B B^*)$ and $B^* \bar B^*$, and are naturally understood as `molecular' states made of the corresponding meson-antimeson pairs. The picture with a full separation of the two channels cannot be exact and a cross-feed between the states necessarily takes place. A simple model is considered here describing the mixing between the channels in terms of one parameter. The model reasonably describes the current data on the decays of the $Z_b$ resonan…
Within the framework of nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization, we calculate the next-to-leading-order (NLO) perturbative corrections to the radiative decay $Υ\to η_c(χ_{cJ})+γ$. Both the helicity amplitudes and the helicity decay widths are obtained. It is the first computation for the processes involving both bottomonium and charmonium at two-loop accuracy. By employing the Cheng-Wu theorem, we are able to convert most of complex-valued master integrals (MIs) into real-valued MIs, which makes the numerical integration much efficient. Our results indicate the $\mathcal{O}(α_s)$ corrections…
Motivated by very recent measurement of the radiative decays of $Υ(1S)$ to $χ_{c1}$ at Belle, we use the nonrelativistic QCD factorization theory and calculate the branching fractions of the radiative decays of bottomonium into S-wave and P-wave charmonium, i.e. $Υ(nS) \to η_c(nS)+γ$ and $Υ(nS)\to χ_{cJ}+γ$. We systematically studied the branching fractions of the radiative decays of bottomonium into charmonium. Compared to the previous calculation, we obtained the analytical expression for the decay widths and considered the color-octet contributions. For $Υ(nS) \to η_c(nS)+γ$, the relativist…
Stimulated by the exciting progress in the observation of new bottomonium states, we study the bottomonium spectrum. To calculate the mass spectrum, we adopt a nonrelativistic screened potential model. The radial Schrödinger equation is solved with the three-point difference central method, where the spin-dependent potentials are dealt with non-perturbatively. With this treatment, the corrections of the spin-dependent potentials to the wave functions can be included successfully. Furthermore, we calculate the electromagnetic transitions of the $nS$ ($n\leq 4$), $nP$ ($n\leq 3$), and $nD$ ($n\l…
In this work, we investigate the $Υ(10753)\toΥ(nS)π^+π^-$ ($n=1,2,3$) processes by considering the hadronic loop mechanism, where $Υ(10753)$ is assigned to a conventional bottomonium in the $4S$-$3D$ mixing scheme. Our results of the concerned processes own considerable branching ratios, which can reach up to the order of magnitude of $10^{-4}-10^{-3}$. We should indicate that the measured $Γ_{e^+e^-}\times\mathcal{B}[Υ(10753)\toΥ(nS)π^+π^-]$ values given by Belle can be reproduced well. This fact supports the former bottomonium assignment to the $Υ(10753)$ in the $4S$-$3D$ mixing scheme. Obvi…
We review the results on the bottomonium system from the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. Measurements have been carried out at different center-of-mass energies in proton collisions and in collisions involving heavy ions. These include precision measurements of cross sections and polarizations, shedding light on hadroproduction mechanisms, and the observation of quarkonium sequential suppression, a notable indication of quark-gluon plasma formation. The observation of the production of bottomonium pairs is also reported along with searches for new states. We close with a brief out…
We review the studies of transitions and decays of bottomonium states from the e+ e- data recorded by the Belle detector at various Upsilon-resonances. We also report a recent study of the branching fractions of χ_{bJ}(1P) to 41 hadronic final states in the Y(2S) data sample. In the same study, a 90% confidence-level upper limit is set for the first time on the width of χ_{b0}(1P) at Γ_{total} < 2.4 MeV.
Using data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider, we measure the energy dependence of the $e^+e^- \to h_b(nP)π^+π^-$ $(n=1,2)$ cross sections from thresholds up to $11.02\,$GeV. We find clear $Υ(10860)$ and $Υ(11020)$ peaks with little or no continuum contribution. We study the resonant substructure of the $Υ(11020) \to h_b(nP)π^+π^-$ transitions and find evidence that they proceed entirely via the intermediate isovector states $Z_b(10610)$ and $Z_b(10650)$. The relative fraction of these states is loosely constrained by the current data: the hypothe…
