We compare the near-infrared (NIR) H band photometric and morphological properties of low-redshift (z<0.3) 3CR radio galaxies with samples of BL Lac object and quasar host galaxies, merger remnants, quiescent elliptical galaxies, and brightest cluster galaxies drawn from the literature. In general the 3CR host galaxies are consistent with luminous (~L*) elliptical galaxies. The vast majority of FR II's (~80%) occupy the most massive ellipticals and form a homogeneous population that is comparable to the population of radio-loud quasar (RLQ) host galaxies in the literature. However, a significant minority (~20%) of the 3CR FR II's appears under-luminous with respect to quasar host galaxies. All FR II objects in this faint tail are either unusually red, or appear to be the brightest objects within a group. We discuss the apparent differences between the radio galaxy and RLQ host galaxy populations. RLQs appear to require >1E11 M_sun host galaxies (and ~1E9 M_sun black holes), whereas radio galaxies and RQQs can exist in galaxies down to 3E10 M_sun. This may be due to biases in the measured quasar host galaxy luminosities or populations studied, or due to a genuine difference in host galaxy. If due to a genuine difference, it would support the idea that radio and optical active galactic nucleii are two separate populations with a significant overlap.
Our group has developed a technique that makes use of the observed non-linear relation between the ultraviolet and the X-ray luminosity in quasars to provide an independent measurement of their distances, thus turning quasars into standardizable candles. This technique, at present, it is mostly based upon quasar samples with data from public catalogues both in the X-rays and in the optical/ultraviolet and extends the Hubble diagram of supernovae to a redshift range still poorly explored (z>2). From the X-ray perspective, we are now on the eve of a major change, as the upcoming mission eROSITA …
We present the Snapshot Hubble U-band Cluster Survey (SHUCS), an ongoing deep U-band imaging survey of nearby star-forming galaxies. Thanks to the information provided by the U band, together with archival Hubble Space Telescope (HST) optical data, we are able to constrain reliable ages, masses, and extinctions of the cluster populations of these galaxies. We show some preliminary results from the study of one of the SHUCS galaxies, NGC 2146. Using the recovered cluster ages we try to understand the propagation of the star formation in one of the tidal streams where a ring-like cluster complex…
The radiative and jet power in active galactic nuclei is generated by accretion of material on to supermassive galactic-centre black holes. For quasars, where the radiative power is by definition very high, objects with high radio luminosities form around 10 per cent of the population, although it is not clear whether this is a stable phase. Traditionally, quasars with high radio luminosities have been thought to present jets with edge-brightened morphology (Fanaroff-Riley II - FR II) due to the limitations of previous radio surveys (i.e., FRIs were not observed as part of the quasar populatio…
In the current framework, the standard parametrization of our Universe is the so-called Lambda Cold Dark Matter (ΛCDM) model. Recently, Risaliti & Lusso (2019) have shown a ~4σ tension with the ΛCDM model through a model-independent parametrization of a Hubble Diagram of supernovae Ia (SNe Ia) from the JLA survey and quasars. Model-independent approaches and independent samples over a wide redshift range are key to testing this tension and any possible systematics. Here we present an analysis of a combined Hubble Diagram of SNe Ia, quasars, and gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) to check the agreement of…
Recently Risaliti \& Lusso [Nature Astron. 3 (2019) 3 272] reported new measurements of the expansion rate of the Universe by constructing the Hubble diagram of 1598 quasars in the redshift range $0.5<z<5.5$. It is claimed a $4σ$ tension with the standard concordance $Λ$CDM concerning both the fractionary matter density $Ω_{m0}$ and the dark energy equation of state parameter $w_{de}$ standard values. In this work we promote an independent analysis of the same data set using a model-independent estimator for cosmic acceleration. Our results corroborate that the source of such tension can be re…
In this paper, we present a model-independent approach to calibrate the largest quasar sample. Calibrating quasar samples is essentially constraining the parameters of the linear relation between the $\log$ of the ultraviolet (UV) and X-ray luminosities. This calibration allows quasars to be used as standardized candles. There is a strong correlation between the parameters characterizing the quasar luminosity relation and the cosmological distances inferred from using quasars as standardized candles. We break this degeneracy by using Gaussian process regression to model-independently reconstru…
In this paper, we use a newly compiled sample of ultra-compact structure in radio quasars and strong gravitational lensing systems with quasars acting as background sources to constrain six spatially flat and non-flat cosmological models ($Λ$CDM, PEDE and DGP). These two sets of quasar data (the time-delay measurements of six strong lensing systems and 120 intermediate-luminosity quasars calibrated as standard rulers) could break the degeneracy between cosmological parameters ($H_0$, $Ω_m$ and $Ω_k$) and therefore provide more stringent cosmological constraints for the six cosmological models …
For a flat $Λ$CDM (standard) cosmology, a small sample of gravitationally lensed quasars with measured time delays has recently provided a value of the Hubble constant $H_0$ in tension with the $Planck$ flat $Λ$CDM result. Trying to check if this tension is real or not, we used basic observational constraints for two double quasars of the GLENDAMA sample (SBS 0909+532 and SDSS J1339+1310) to discuss the underlying value of $H_0$ in a standard cosmology. For SBS 0909+532, we were not able to obtain a reliable measurement of $H_0$. However, the current data of SDSS J1339+1310 are consistent with…
We present a new method to test the cosmological model, based on the non-linear relation between ultraviolet and X-ray luminosity of quasars. We built a data set of ~1,138 quasars by merging several literature samples with X-ray measurements at 2 keV and SDSS photometry, which was used to estimate the extinction-corrected 2500 Angstrom flux. We obtained three main results: (1) we checked the relation between X-ray and UV luminosities in small redshift bins up to z~6, confirming that it holds at all redshifts with the same slope; (2) we built a Hubble diagram for quasars up to z~6, which is wel…
We present a census of z(abs) < 2, intrinsic (those showing partial coverage) and associated [z(abs) ~ z(em)] quasar absorption-line systems detected in the Hubble Space Telescope archive of Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph echelle spectra. This work complements the Misawa et al. (2007) survey of 2 < z(em) < 4 quasars that selects systems using similar techniques. We confirm the existence of so-called "strong N V" intrinsic systems (where the equivalent width of H I Ly alpha is small compared to N V 1238) presented in that work, but find no convincing cases of "strong C IV" intrinsic syste…
The cosmological model is at present not tested between the redshift of the farthest observed supernovae (z ~ 1.4) and that of the Cosmic Microwave Background (z ~ 1,100). Here we introduce a new method to measure the cosmological parameters: we show that quasars can be used as "standard candles" by employing the non-linear relation between their intrinsic UV and X-ray emission as an absolute distance indicator. We built a sample of ~ 1,900 quasars with available UV and X-ray observations, and produced a Hubble Diagram up to z ~ 5. The analysis of the quasar Hubble Diagram, when used in combin…
We present a blind time-delay strong lensing (TDSL) cosmographic analysis of the doubly imaged quasar SDSS 1206+4332. We combine the relative time delay between the quasar images, Hubble Space Telescope imaging, the Keck stellar velocity dispersion of the lensing galaxy, and wide-field photometric and spectroscopic data of the field to constrain two angular diameter distance relations. The combined analysis is performed by forward modelling the individual data sets through a Bayesian hierarchical framework, and it is kept blind until the very end to prevent experimenter bias. After unblinding,…
Strongly lensed quasar systems with time delay measurements provide "time delay distances", which are a combination of three angular diameter distances and serve as powerful tools to determine the Hubble constant $H_0$. However, current results often rely on the assumption of the $Λ$CDM model. Here we use a model-independent method based on Gaussian process to directly constrain the value of $H_0$. By using Gaussian process regression, we can generate posterior samples of unanchored supernova distances independent of any cosmological model and anchor them with strong lens systems. The combinat…
We present the Snapshot Hubble U-band Cluster Survey (SHUCS), a project aimed at characterizing the star cluster populations of ten nearby galaxies (d<23 Mpc, half within 12 Mpc) through new F336W (U band equivalent) imaging from WFC3, and archival BVI-equivalent data with HST. Completing the UBVI baseline reduces the age-extinction degeneracy of optical colours, thus enabling the measurement of reliable ages and masses for the thousands of clusters covered by our survey. The sample consists chiefly of face-on spiral galaxies at low inclination, in various degrees of isolation (isolated, in gr…
In the context of cosmography approach and using the data of Hubble diagram for supernovae, quasars and gamma-ray bursts, we study some DE parametrizations and also the concordance $Λ$CDM universe. Using the different combinations of data sample including ({\it i}) supernovae (Pantheon), ({\it ii}) Pantheon + quasars and ({\it iii}) Pantheon + quasars + gamma-ray bursts and applying the minimization of $χ^2$ function of distance modulus of data samples in the context of Markov Chain Monte Carlo method, we first obtain the constrained values of the cosmographic parameters in model independent c…
With the distance sum rule in the Friedmann-Lema\^ıtre-Robertson-Walker metric, model-independent constraints on both the Hubble constant $H_0$ and spatial curvature $Ω_{K}$ can be obtained using strong lensing time-delay data and Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) luminosity distances. This method is limited by the relative low redshifts of SNe Ia, however. Here, we propose using quasars as distance indicators, extending the coverage to encompass the redshift range of strong lensing systems. We provide a novel and improved method of determining $H_0$ and $Ω_{K}$ simultaneously. By applying this techni…
We report on deep near-infrared F125W (J) and F160W (H) Hubble Space Telescope Wide Field Camera 3 images of the z=6.42 quasar J1148+5251 to attempt to detect rest-frame near-ultraviolet emission from the host galaxy. These observations included contemporaneous observations of a nearby star of similar near-infrared colors to measure temporal variations in the telescope and instrument point spread function (PSF). We subtract the quasar point source using both this direct PSF and a model PSF. Using direct subtraction, we measure an upper limit for the quasar host galaxy of m_J>22.8, m_H>23.0 AB …
Although the Hubble constant $H_0$ and spatial curvature $Ω_{K}$ have been measured with very high precision, they still suffer from some tensions. In this paper, we propose an improved method to combine the observations of ultra-compact structure in radio quasars and strong gravitational lensing with quasars acting as background sources to determine $H_0$ and $Ω_{K}$ simultaneously. By applying the distance sum rule to the time-delay measurements of 7 strong lensing systems and 120 intermediate-luminosity quasars calibrated as standard rulers, we obtain stringent constraints on the Hubble con…
We determine here peculiar motion of the Solar system, first time from the $m-z$ Hubble diagram of quasars. Observer's peculiar motion causes a systematic shift in the $m-z$ plane between sources lying along the velocity vector and those in the opposite direction, providing a measure of the peculiar velocity. Accordingly, from a sample of $\sim 1.2 \times 10^5$ mid-infrared quasars with measured spectroscopic redshifts, we arrive at a peculiar velocity $\sim 22$ times larger than that from the CMBR dipole, but direction matching within $\sim 2σ$. Previous findings from number count, sky bright…
The concordance (LambdaCDM) model reproduces the main current cosmological observations assuming the validity of general relativity at all scales and epochs, the presence of cold dark matter, and of a cosmological constant, equivalent to a dark energy with constant density in space and time. However, the LambdaCDM model is poorly tested in the redshift interval between the farthest observed Type Ia supernovae5 and that of the Cosmic Microwave background (CMB). We present new measurements of the expansion rate of the Universe in the range 0.5<z<5.5 based on a Hubble diagram of quasars. The quas…
It has been known for over three decades that the monochromatic X-ray and UV luminosities in quasars are correlated, though non-linearly. This offers the possibility of using high-z quasars as standard candles for cosmological testing. In this paper, we use a recently assembled, high-quality catalog of 1598 quasars extending all the way to redshift ~6, to compare the predictions of the R_h=ct and LCDM cosmologies. In so doing, we affirm that the parameters characterizing the correlation depend only weakly on the chosen cosmology, and that both models account very well for the data. Unlike LCDM…
We use the Risaliti & Lusso (2015) compilation of 808 X-ray and UV flux measurements of quasars (QSOs) in the redshift range $0.061 \leq z \leq 6.28$, alone and in conjuction with baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) and Hubble parameter [$H(z)$] measurements, to constrain cosmological parameters in six cosmological models. The QSO data constraints are significantly weaker than, but consistent with, those from the $H(z)$ + BAO data. A joint analysis of the QSO + $H(z)$ + BAO data is consistent with the current standard model, spatially-flat $Λ$CDM, but mildly favors closed spatial hypersurfaces a…
Recent measurements of the parameters of the Concordance Cosmology Model ($Λ$CDM) done in the low-redshift Universe with Supernovae Ia/Cepheids, and in the distant Universe done with Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) imply different values for the Hubble constant (67.4 $\pm$ 0.5 km s$^{-1}$ Mpc$^{-1}$ from Planck vs 74.03 $\pm$ 1.42 km s$^{-1}$ Mpc$^{-1}$, Riess et al. 2019). This Hubble constant tension implies that either the systematic errors are underestimated, or the $Λ$CDM does not represent well the observed expansion of the Universe. Since quasars - active galactic nuclei - can be obse…
Context. The precise determination of the present-day expansion rate of the Universe, expressed through the Hubble constant $H_0$, is one of the most pressing challenges in modern cosmology. Assuming flat $Λ$CDM, $H_0$ inference at high redshift using cosmic-microwave-background data from Planck disagrees at the 4.4$σ$ level with measurements based on the local distance ladder made up of parallaxes, Cepheids and Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), often referred to as "Hubble tension". Independent, cosmological-model-insensitive ways to infer $H_0$ are of critical importance. Aims. We apply an invers…
The first multifrequency radio observations of the very compact BAL quasar, 1045+352, were made using MERLIN and the VLBA in a snapshot mode. However, its unusual radio structure was still very difficult to interpret, indicating a scenario of intermittent activity or a jet precession. Here, we present some of a new full-track radio observations of 1045+352 made with the EVN+MERLIN at 5 GHz. The new more sensitive high-resolution observations made possible to trace the connection between the arcsecond structure and the radio core, and showed the presence of strong interactions between the jet a…
Quasars have recently been used as an absolute distance indicator, extending the Hubble diagram to high redshift to reveal a deviation from the expansion history predicted for the standard, $Λ$CDM cosmology. Here we show that the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) will efficiently test this claim with standard sirens at high redshift, defined by the coincident gravitational wave (GW) and electromagnetic (EM) observations of the merger of massive black hole binaries (MBHBs). Assuming a fiducial $Λ$CDM cosmology for generating mock standard siren datasets, the evidence for the $Λ$CDM mode…
We report ultraviolet spectra of the high-redshift (z_em = 2.9) quasar, HE 2347-4342, taken by the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS) on the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). Spectra in the G130M (medium-resolution, 1135-1440 A) and G140L (low-resolution, 1030-2000 A) gratings exhibit patchy Gunn-Peterson absorption in the 303.78 A (Ly-alpha) line of He II between z = 2.39-2.87 (G140L) and z = 2.74-2.90 (G130M). With COS, we obtain better spectral resolution, higher-S/N, and better determined backgrounds than previous studies, with sensitivity to abundance fractions x_HeII = 0.01 in filaments of th…
Supermassive black holes (SMBHs) play a crucial role in the evolution of galaxies and are currently detected up to $z\sim 7.5$. Theories describing black hole (BH) growth are challenged by how rapidly seeds with initial mass $M_{\bullet} \lesssim 10^5 \, \mathrm{M_{\odot}}$, formed at $z \sim 20-30$, grew to $M_{\bullet} \sim 10^9 \, \mathrm{M_{\odot}}$ by $z\sim 7$. Here we study the effects of the value of the Hubble parameter, $H_0$, on models describing the early growth of BHs. First, we note that the predicted mass of a quasar at $z=6$ changes by $> 300$% if the underlying Hubble paramete…
We present Hubble Space Telescope imaging and spectroscopy for the extended high-ionization cloud known as Hanny's Voorwerp, near the spiral galaxy IC 2497. WFC3 images show complex dust absorption near the nucleus of IC 2497. STIS spectra show a type 2 Seyfert AGN of rather low luminosity. The ionization parameter log U = -3.5 is in accord with its weak X-ray emission. We find no high-ionization gas near the nucleus, adding to evidence that the AGN is currently at low radiative output (perhaps now dominated by kinetic energy). The nucleus is accompanied by an expanding ring of ionized gas 500…
Two recent discoveries have made it possible for us to begin using high-z quasars as standard candles to construct a Hubble Diagram (HD) at z > 6. These are (1) the recognition from reverberation mapping that a relationship exists between the optical/UV luminosity and the distance of line-emitting gas from the central ionizing source. Thus, together with a measurement of the velocity of the line-emitting gas, e.g., via the width of BLR lines, such as Mg II, a single observation can therefore in principle provide a determination of the black hole's mass; and (2) the identification of quasar ULA…
This paper presents optical R-band light curves and the time delay of the doubly imaged gravitationally lensed quasar SDSS J1001+5027 at a redshift of 1.838. We have observed this target for more than six years, between March 2005 and July 2011, using the 1.2-m Mercator Telescope, the 1.5-m telescope of the Maidanak Observatory, and the 2-m Himalayan Chandra Telescope. Our resulting light curves are composed of 443 independent epochs, and show strong intrinsic quasar variability, with an amplitude of the order of 0.2 magnitudes. From this data, we measure the time delay using five different me…
Strong lens time delays have been widely used in cosmological studies, especially to infer $H_0$. The upcoming LSST will provide several hundred well measured time delays from the light curves of lensed quasars. However, due to the inclination of the finite AGN accretion disc and the differential magnification of the coherent temperature fluctuations, the microlensing by the stars can lead to changes in the actual time delay on the light-crossing time scale of the emission region $\sim days$. We first study how this would change the uncertainty of $H_0$ in the LSST era, assuming the microlensi…
We present an anisotropic analysis of Baryon Acoustic Oscillation (BAO) signal from the SDSS-IV extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS) Data Release 14 (DR14) quasar sample. The sample consists of 147,000 quasars distributed over a redshift range of $0.8 < z < 2.2$. We apply the redshift weights technique to the clustering of quasars in this sample and achieve a 4.6 per cent measurement of the angular distance measurement $D_M$ at $z = 2.2$ and Hubble parameter $H$ at $z=0.8$. We parameterize the distance-redshift relation, relative to a fiducial model, as a quadratic expansio…
Reducing the uncertainty on the Hubble constant up to 35\% with an improved statistical analysis: different best-fit likelihoods for Supernovae Ia, Baryon Acoustic Oscillations, Quasars, and Gamma-Ray Bursts
An attempt is made to explain time non-dilation allegedly observed in quasar light curves. The explanation is based on the assumption that quasar black holes are, in some sense, foreign for our Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe and do not participate in the Hubble flow. Although at first sight such a weird explanation requires unreasonably fine-tuned Big Bang initial conditions, we find a natural justification for it using the Milne cosmological model as an inspiration.
One of the key open questions in cosmology today pertains to understanding when, where and how super massive black holes form, while it is clear that mergers likely play a significant role in the growth cycles of black holes, how supermassive black holes form, and how galaxies grow around them. Here, we present Hubble Space Telescope WFC3/IR grism observations of a clumpy galaxy at z=1.35, with evidence for 10^6 - 10^7 Msun rapidly growing black holes in separate sub-components of the host galaxy. These black holes could have been brought into close proximity as a consequence of a rare multipl…
Time delay in galaxy gravitational lensing systems has been used to determine the value of Hubble constant. As in other dynamical phenomena at the scale of galaxy, dark matter is often invoked in gravitational lensing to account for the "missing mass" (the apparent discrepancy between the dynamical mass and the luminous mass). Alternatively, modified gravity can be used to explain the discrepancy. In this paper we adopt the Tensor-Vector-Scalar gravity (TeVeS), a relativistic version of MOdified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND), to study gravitational lensing phenomena and derive the formulae needed …
We perform a measurement of the Hubble constant, $H_0$, using the latest baryonic acoustic oscillations (BAO) measurements from galaxy surveys of 6dFGS, SDSS DR7 Main Galaxy Sample, BOSS DR12 sample, and eBOSS DR14 quasar sample, in the framework of a flat $Λ$CDM model. Based on the Kullback-Leibler (KL) divergence, we examine the consistency of $H_0$ values derived from various data sets. We find that our measurement is consistent with that derived from Planck and with the local measurement of $H_0$ using the Cepheids and type Ia supernovae. We perform forecasts on $H_0$ from future BAO measu…
We use updated Hubble parameter and baryon acoustic oscillation data, as well as other lower-redshift Type Ia supernova, Mg II reverberation-measured quasar, quasar angular size, H II starburst galaxy, and Amati-correlated gamma-ray burst data, to jointly constrain cosmological parameters in six cosmological models. The joint analysis provides model-independent determinations of the Hubble constant, $H_0=69.7\pm1.2$ $\rm{km \ s^{-1} \ Mpc^{-1}}$, and the current non-relativistic matter density parameter, $Ω_{m0}=0.295\pm0.017$. These error bars are factors of 2.2 and 2.3 larger than the corres…
In this work, we obtain measurements of the Hubble constant in the context of modified gravity theories. We set up our theoretical framework by considering viable cosmological $f(R)$ and $f(T)$ models, and we analyzed them through the use of geometrical data sets obtained in a model-independent way, namely, gravitationally lensed quasars with measured time delays, standard clocks from cosmic chronometers, and standard candles from the Pantheon Supernovae Ia sample. We find $H_0=(72.4\pm 1.4)$ km s$^{-1}$ Mpc$^{-1}$ and $H_0=(71.5\pm 1.3)$ km s$^{-1}$ Mpc$^{-1}$ for the $f(R)$ and $f(T)$ models…
This work presents the results of a Chandra study of 21 broad absorption line (BAL) radio-loud quasars (RLQs). We conducted a Chandra snapshot survey of 12 bright BAL RLQs selected from SDSS/FIRST data and possessing a wide range of radio and CIV absorption properties. Optical spectra were obtained nearly contemporaneously with the Hobby-Eberly Telescope; no strong flux or BAL variability was seen between epochs. We also include in our sample 9 additional BAL RLQs possessing archival Chandra coverage. We compare the properties of (predominantly high-ionization) BAL RLQs to those of non-BAL RLQ…
The redshift-luminosity distributions for well-defined galaxies and quasars in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) are compared for the two redshift-distance relations of a Hubble redshift and a de Sitter redshift. Assuming a Hubble redshift, SDSS data can be interpreted as luminosity evolution following the Big Bang. In contrast, given a de Sitter redshift, the intrinsic brightness of objects at all redshifts is roughly the same. In a de Sitter universe, 95 per cent of SDSS galaxies and quasars fall into a magnitude range of only 2.8, and 99.7 per cent are within 5.4 mag. The comparable Hubbl…
We present optical and near-infrared imaging of the field of the z=7.0842 quasar ULAS J112001.48+064124.3 taken with the Hubble Space Telescope. We use these data to search for galaxies that may be physically associated with the quasar, using the Lyman break technique, and find three such objects, although the detection of one in Spitzer Space Telescope imaging strongly suggests it lies at z~2. This is consistent with the field luminosity function and indicates that there is no excess of >L* galaxies within 1 Mpc of the quasar. A detection of the quasar shortward of the Ly-alpha line is consis…

We have compiled a sample of 14 of the optically brightest radio-quiet quasars ($m_{i}$~$\le$~17.5 and $z$~$\ge$~1.9) in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 5 quasar catalog that have C IV mini-BALs present in their spectra. X-ray data for 12 of the objects were obtained via a Chandra snapshot survey using ACIS-S, while data for the other two quasars were obtained from archival XMM-Newton observations. Joint X-ray spectral analysis shows the mini-BAL quasars have a similar average power-law photon index ($Γ\approx1.9$) and level of intrinsic absorption ($N_H \lesssim 8\times 10^{21} \ {\…
The recent extension of the Hubble diagram of Supernovae and quasars to redshifts much higher than 1 prompted a revived interest in non-parametric approaches to test cosmological models and to measure the expansion rate of the Universe. In particular, it is of great interest to infer model-independent constraints on the possible evolution of the dark energy component. Here we present a new method, based on a Neural Network Regression, to analyze the Hubble Diagram in a completely non-parametric, model-independent fashion. We first validate the method through simulated samples with the same red…
We present a new catalogue of ~2,400 optically selected quasars with spectroscopic redshifts and X-ray observations from either Chandra or XMM-Newton. The sample can be used to investigate the non-linear relation between the UV and X-ray luminosity of quasars, and to build a Hubble diagram up to redshift z~7.5. We selected sources that are neither reddened by dust in the optical/UV nor obscured by gas in the X-rays, and whose X-ray fluxes are free from flux-limit related biases. After checking for any possible systematics, we confirm, in agreement with our previous works, that (i) the X-ray to…
