This proceeding gives an overview of the renormalization of $F^2_{μν}$ using the Faddeev-Popov action and the more complicate Gribov-Zwanziger action, which deals with Gribov copies. We show that using the Faddeev-Popov action, $F^2_{μν}$ mixes with other $d=4$ operators. However, due to the BRST invariance of the action, this mixing is not relevant at the level of the correlator, $\Braket {F^2_{μν}(x) F^2_{αβ}(y)}$. In contrast, when turning to the Gribov-Zwanziger action, the mixing of $F^2_{μν}$ with other $d=4$ operator does have consequences at the level of the correlator. This is due to the breaking of the BRST. We then present a possible candidate for a physical operator in the Gribov-Zwanziger framework.
We show that the unitarity problem in the Gribov-Zwanziger theory can be solved by the famous quartet mechanism. The construction of the new quartet in such a theory suggests the introduction of a new form of ghost charge and projection operator
In this paper, we extend the Gribov-Zwanziger framework accounting for the existence of Gribov copies to the mass deformed Bagger--Lambert--Gustavsson (BLG) theory in $\mathcal{N} =1 $ superspace. The restriction of the domain of integration in the Euclidean functional integral to the first Gribov horizon is implemented, by adding a non-local horizon term to the effective action. Furthermore, the soft breaking of the BRST symmetry due to horizon term is restored with the help of external sources. We compute the various Ward identities for this theory relying on the Lie 3-algebras.
We address the issue of the all order multiplicative renormalizability of $SU(2)$ Gribov-Zwanziger theories quantized in the maximal Abelian gauge in presence of confined matter fields. The non-linear character of the maximal Abelian gauge requires the introduction of quartic interaction terms in the Faddeev-Popov ghosts as well as in the localizing Zwanziger fields, extended a well known feature of this gauge. We show that, when scalar matter fields are introduced, a second quartic interaction term between scalar fields, Faddeev-Popov ghosts and Zwanziger-like fields naturally arises. A BRST …
We introduce, within the Refined-Gribov-Zwanziger setup, a composite BRST invariant fermionic operator coupled to the inverse of the Faddeev-Popov operator. As a result, an effective BRST invariant action in Euclidean space-time is constructed, enabling us to pave the first step towards the study of the behaviour of the fermion propagator in the infrared region in the class of the linear covariant gauges. The aforementioned action is proven to be renormalizable to all orders by means of the algebraic renormalization procedure.
In this proceeding, $SU(N)$ Yang-Mills theory is quantized in the linear covariant gauges, while taking into account the issue of Gribov copies and we construct the one-loop effective potential for a set of mass dimension 2 condensates, including the Gribov parameter, that refines the infrared region of the Gribov-Zwanziger theory, whilst respecting renormalization group invariance and BRST symmetry.
We prove the renormalizability to all orders of a refined Gribov-Zwanziger type action in linear covariant gauges in four-dimensional Euclidean space. In this model, the Gribov copies are taken into account by requiring that the Faddeev-Popov operator is positive definite with respect to the transverse component of the gauge field, a procedure which turns out to be analogous to the restriction to the Gribov region in the Landau gauge. The model studied here can be regarded as the first approximation of a more general nonperturbative BRST invariant formulation of the refined Gribov-Zwanziger ac…
We revisit the effective action of the Gribov-Zwanziger theory, taking into due account the BRST symmetry and renormalization (group invariance) of the construction. We compute at one loop the effective potential, showing the emergence of BRST-invariant dimension 2 condensates stabilizing the vacuum. This paper sets the stage at zero temperature, and clears the way to studying the Gribov-Zwanziger gap equations, and particularly the horizon condition, at finite temperature in future work.
In this paper we derive the high energy evolution equation in the Gribov-Zwanziger approach, for the confinement of quarks and gluons. We demonstrate that the new equation generates an exponential decrease of the scattering amplitude at large impact parameter, and resolves the main difficulties of CGC (Colour Glass Condensate) high energy effective theory. Such behaviour occurs if the gluon propagator in Gribov-Zwanziger approach, does not vanish at small momenta. Solving the non-linear equation for deep inelastic scattering, we show that the suggested equation leads to a Froissart disc with r…
We propose a Gribov-Zwanziger type action for the Landau-DeWitt gauge that preserves, for any gauge group, the invariance under background gauge transformations. At zero temperature, and to one-loop accuracy, the model can be related to the Gribov no-pole condition. We apply the model to the deconfinement transition in SU(2) and SU(3) Yang-Mills theories and compare the predictions obtained with a single or with various (color dependent) Gribov parameters that can be introduced in the action without jeopardizing its background gauge invariance. The Gribov parameters associated to color directi…
The Refined Gribov-Zwanziger framework takes into account the existence of equivalent gauge field configurations in the gauge-fixing quantization procedure of Euclidean Yang-Mills theories. Recently, this setup was extended to the family of linear covariant gauges giving rise to a local and BRST-invariant action. In this paper, we give an algebraic proof of the renormalizability of the resulting action to all orders in perturbation theory.
As the restriction of the gauge fields to the Gribov region is taken into account, it turns out that the resulting gauge field propagators display a nontrivial infrared behavior, being very close to the ones observed in lattice gauge field theory simulations. In this work, we explore for the first time a higher correlation function in the presence of the Gribov horizon: the ghost-anti-ghost-gluon interaction vertex, at one-loop level. Our analytical results (within the so-called Refined Gribov Zwanziger theory) are fairly compatible with lattice YM simulations, as well as with solutions from t…
In this paper we solved the new evolution equation for high energy scattering amplitudethat stems from the Gribov-Zwanziger approach to the confinement of quarks and gluons. We found that (1) the energy dependence of the scattering amplitude turns out to be the same as for QCD BFKL evolution; (2) the spectrum of the new equation does not depend on the details of the Gribov-Zwanzinger approach and (3) all eigenfunctions coincide with the eigenfunctions of the QCD BFKL equation at large transverse momenta $κ\,\geq\,1$. The numerical calculations show that there exist no new eigenvalues with the …
The compatibility of the results from the Gribov-Zwanziger tree level prediction and lattice simulations, using large statistical ensembles, for the Landau gauge gluon propagator are investigated, thereby complementing earlier work using small-scale statistics. Our results show that the data is well described by the tree level estimate only up to momenta $p \lesssim 1$ GeV while clearly favoring the so-called Refined Gribov-Zwanziger scenario, implying particular relations between certain possible $d=2$ condensates. We also provide a global fit of the lattice data which interpolates between th…
We study dynamic features of a plasma consisting of gluons whose infrared dynamics is improved by the Gribov-Zwanziger quantization. This approach embodies essential features of color confinement which set the plasma apart from conventional quasiparticle systems in several aspects. Our study focusses on a boost-invariant expansion for in- and out-of-equilibrium settings, which at late times can be characterized by the sound velocity, $c_s$, and the shear, $η$, and bulk, $ζ$, viscosities. We obtain explicit expressions for the transport coefficients $η$ and $ζ$ and check that they are consisten…
We investigate dynamic properties of a plasma whose constituents are confining gluons resulting from the Gribov quantization. In a static formulation, this system reproduces qualitatively the pure-glue equation of state and thereby encodes crucial features of the phase transition. The dynamic description proposed in this work allows us to study non-equilibrium transport phenomena with the inclusion of confinement effects. In particular, we determine the non-equilibrium behaviour of the interaction measure (trace anomaly) and find the form of the bulk viscosity coefficient. The latter may be us…
