We generalize Yau's estimates for the complex Monge-Ampere equation on compact manifolds in the case when the background metric is no longer Kahler. We prove $C^{\infty}$ a priori estimates for a solution of the complex Monge-Ampere equation when the background metric is Hermitian (in complex dimension two) or balanced (in higher dimensions), giving an alternative proof of a theorem of Cherrier. We relate this to recent results of Guan-Li.
In this note, we describe the Hermitian metrics that leave the total Monge-Ampere volume invariant. In particular, we give several characterizations of the Hermitian metrics which satisfy the comparison principle for the complex Monge-Ampere operator
We prove several approximation theorems of the complex Monge-Ampere operator on a compact Kahler manifold. As an application we give a new proof of a recent result of Guedj and Zeriahi on a complete description of the range of the complex Monge-Ampere operator in the class of w-plurisubharmonic functions with vanishing complex Monge-Ampere mass on all pluripolar sets. As a by-product we obtain a stability theorem of solutions of complex Monge-Ampere equations in some subclass.
We shall use the classical Perron envelope method to show a general existence theorem to degenerate complex Monge-Ampère type equations on compact Kähler manifolds.
In this work, we study Monge-Ampere equations over closed Kähler manifolds with degenerated cohomology classes. Classic results and arguments in pluripotential theory are generalized a little bit to be applied to our situation.
Let $(X,ω)$ be a compact Kähler manifold. We prove that all Monge-Ampère capacities are comparable. Using this we give an alternative direct proof of the integration by parts formula for non-pluripolar products recently proved by M. Xia.
We show that a positive Borel measure of positive finite total mass, on compact Hermitian manifolds, admits a Holder continuous quasi-plurisubharmonic solution to the Monge-Ampere equation if and only if it is dominated locally by Monge-Ampere measures of Holder continuous plurisubharmonic functions.
We study the problem of the existence and the holomorphicity of the Monge-Ampère foliation associated to a plurisubharmonic solutions of the complex homogeneous Monge-Ampère equation even at points of arbitrary degeneracy. We obtain good results for real analytic unbounded solutions. As a consequence we also provide a positive answer to a question of Burns on homogeneous polynomials whose logarithm satisfies the complex Monge-Ampère equation and we obtain a generalization the work of P.M. Wong on the classification of complete weighted circular domains.
We prove the bounded subsolution theorem for the complex Monge-Ampère type equation, with the right hand side being a positive Radon measure, on a compact Hermitian manifold with boundary.
We prove that on compact Kähler manifolds solutions to the complex Monge-Ampère equation, with the the right hand side in $L^p, p>1,$ are Hölder continuous.
In this paper we extend our previous work on singularities of Monge-Ampère foliations to the case of pseudoconvex finite type domains. We are able to answer the questin of Burns on homogeneous polynomials whose logarithm satisfies the complex Monge-Ampère equation completely in dimension 2 . We are also able to generalize the work of P.M. Wong in dimension 2 on the classification of complete weighted circular domains to include finite type domains.
Let $(X,ω)$ be a compact Kähler manifold. We introduce and study the largest set $DMA(X,ω)$ of $ω$-plurisubharmonic (psh) functions on which the complex Monge-Ampère operator is well defined. It is much larger than the corresponding local domain of definition, though still a proper subset of the set $PSH(X,\om)$ of all $\om$-psh functions. We prove that certain twisted Monge-Ampère operators are well defined for all $ω$-psh functions. As a consequence, any $\om$-psh function with slightly attenuated singularities has finite weighted Monge-Ampère energy.
We study degenerate complex Monge-Ampère equations on a compact Kähler manifold $(X,ω)$. We show that the complex Monge-Ampère operator $(ω+ dd^c \cdot)^n$ is well-defined on the class ${\mathcal E}(X,ω)$ of $ω$-plurisubharmonic functions with finite weighted Monge-Ampère energy. The class ${\mathcal E}(X,ω)$ is the largest class of $ω$-psh functions on which the Monge-Ampère operator is well-defined and the comparison principle is valid. It contains several functions whose gradient is not square integrable. We give a complete description of the range of the Monge-Ampère operator $(ω+dd^c \cdo…
The main result asserts the existence of continuous solutions of the complex Monge-Ampère equation with the right hand side in $L^p, p>1$, on compact Hermitian manifolds.
By studying a complex Monge-Ampère equation, we present an alternate proof to a recent result of Chu-Lee-Tam concerning the projectivity of a compact Kähler manifold $N^n$ with $\Ric_k< 0$ for some integer $k$ with $1<k<n$, and the ampleness of the canonical line bundle $K_N$.
We obtain higher order estimates for a parabolic flow on a compact Hermitian manifold. As an application, we prove that a bounded $\hatω$-plurisubharmonic solution of an elliptic complex Monge-Ampère equation is smooth under an assumption on the background Hermitian metric $\hatω$. This generalizes a result of Székelyhidi and Tosatti on Kähler manifolds.
We study various capacities on compact Kähler manifolds which generalize the Bedford-Taylor Monge-Ampère capacity. We then use these capacities to study the existence and the regularity of solutions of complex Monge-Ampère equations.
We introduce generalized Monge-Ampère capacities and use these to study complex Monge-Ampère equations whose right-hand side is smooth outside a divisor. We prove, in many cases, that there exists a unique normalized solution which is smooth outside the divisor.
We discuss Monge-Ampère equations from the view point of differential geometry. It is known that a Monge-Ampère equation corresponds to a special exterior differential system on a 1-jet space. In this paper, we generalize Monge-Ampère equations and prove that a $(k+1)$st order generalized Monge-Ampère equation corresponds to a special exterior differential system on a $k$-jet space. Then its solution naturally corresponds to an integral manifold of the corresponding exterior differential system. Moreover, we verify that the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation and the Cauchy-Riemann equations are …
We establish various stability results for solutions of complex Monge-Ampère equations in big cohomology classes, generalizing results that were known to hold in the context of Kähler classes.
We study the regularizing properties of complex Monge-Ampère flows on a Kähler manifold $(X,ω)$ when the initial data are $ω$-psh functions with zero Lelong number at all points. We prove that the general Monge-Ampère flow has a solution which is immediately smooth. We also prove the uniqueness and stability of solution.
In this paper, we consider a version of parabolic complex Monge-Ampere equations, and use a PDE approach similar to Phong et al to establish $L^{\infty}$ and Hölder estimates. We also generalize the $L^{\infty}$ estimates to parabolic Hessian equations.
We establish a stability result for elliptic and parabolic complex Monge-Amp{è}re equations on compact K{ä}hler manifolds, which applies in particular to the K{ä}hler-Ricci flow. Dedicated to Jean-Pierre Demailly on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
In this note, we consider complex Monge-Ampere equation posed on a compact Kähler manifold. We show how to get $L^p$($p<\infty$) and $L^{\infty}$ estimate for the gradient of the solution in terms of the continuity of the right hand side.
In this paper, we prove a uniform and sharp estimate for the modulus of continuity of solutions to complex Monge-Ampère equations, using the PDE-based approach developed by the first three authors in their approach to supremum estimates for fully non-linear equations in Kähler geometry. As an application, we derive a uniform diameter bound for Kähler metrics satisfying certain Monge-Ampère equations.
These are the lecture notes for the Morningside Center of Mathematics Geometry Summer School on August 15-20, 2022. These lectures sketch the results by Yau, Demailly-Paun, the author, and Datar-Pingali about generalized Monge-Ampère equations and subvarieties and aim to use these results to study the Hodge conjecture.
The aim of this paper is to study the Lelong number, the integrability index and the Monge-Ampère mass at the origin of an $S^1$-invariant plurisubharmonic function on a balanced domain in $\mathbb{C}^n$ under the Schwarz symmetrization. We prove that $n$ times the integrability index is exactly the Lelong number of the symmetrization, and if the function is further toric with a single pole at the origin, then the Monge-Ampère mass is always decreasing under the symmetrization
The proof of the comparison principlein [EGZ11] is not complete. We provide here an alternative proof, valid in the ample locus of any big cohomology class, and discuss the resulting modifications.
We study a fully nonlinear equation of complex Monge-Ampere type on Hermitian manifolds. We establish the a priori estimates for solutions of the equation up to the second order derivatives with the help of a subsolution.
In this paper, we obtain the Bedford-Taylor interior $C^{2}$ estimate and local Calabi $C^{3}$ estimate for the solutions to complex Monge-Ampère equations on Hermitian manifolds.
We study the quaternionic Monge-Ampère equation on HKT manifolds admitting an HKT foliation having corank 4. We show that in this setting the quaternionic Monge-Ampère equation has always a unique solution for every basic datum. This approach includes the study of the equation on SU(3).
We consider the complex Monge-Ampére equation on complete Kähler manifolds with cusp singularity along a divisor when the right hand side $F$ has rather weak regularity. We proved that when the right hand side $F$ is in some \emph{weighted} $W^{1,p_0}$ space for $p_0 > 2n$, the Monge-Ampére equation has a classical $W^{3,p_0}$ solution.
In the present paper, we study some generalized Monge--Ampère equations in terms of special exterior differential systems on a jet space. Moreover, we construct geometric singular solutions of the generalized Monge--Ampère equations by using the method of Cauchy characteristics. Furthermore, we give criteria for geometric singular solutions to be right-left equivalent to the cuspidal edge, swallowtail and butterfly.
In this lecture delivered at the Integrable and Quantum Field Theory at Peyresq sixth meeting, we review the Lychagin's Monge-Ampere operators theory and exhibit the link it establishes between the classical problem of local equivalence for non linear partial differential equations and the problem of integrability of some geometrical structures.
We introduce certain energy functionals to the complex Monge-Ampere equation over a bounded domain with inhomogeneous boundary condition, and use these functionals to show the convergence of the solution to the parabolic Monge-Ampere equation.
In this paper, we prove a mean value formula for bounded subharmonic Hermitian matrix valued function on a complete Riemannian manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature. As its application, we obtain a Liouville type theorem for the complex Monge-Ampère equation on product manifolds.
We associate an integrable generalized complex structure to each 2-dimensional symplectic Monge-Ampère equation of divergent type and, using the Gualtieri $\bar{\partial}$ operator, we characterize the conservation laws and the generating function of such equation as generalized holomorphic objects.
We describe a method to reduce partial differential equations of Monge-Ampère type in 4 variables to complex partial differential equations in 2 variables. To illustrate this method, we construct explicit holomorphic solutions of the special lagrangian equation, the real Monge-Ampère equations and the Plebanski equations.
We describe some natural relations connecting contact geometry, classical Monge-Ampere equations and theory of singularities of solutions to nonlinear PDEs. They reveal the hidden meaning of Monge-Ampere equations and sheds new light on some aspects of contact geometry.
We prove $C^\infty$ convergence for suitably normalized solutions of the parabolic complex Monge-Ampère equation on compact Hermitian manifolds. This provides a parabolic proof of a recent result of Tosatti and Weinkove.
We study the parabolic complex Monge-Ampère type equations on closed Hermitian manfolds. We derive uniform $C^\infty$ {\em a priori} estimates for normalized solutions, and then prove the $C^\infty$ convergence. The result also yields a way to carry out method of continuity for elliptic Monge-Ampére type equations.
In this note, we derive a Liouville theorem for the complex Monge-Ampère equation. Our result states that if the global solution $u$ of the complex Monge-Ampère equation with constant right-hand side differs from a quadratic polynomial solution by $o(\abs{x}^2)$ at infinity, then $u$ is a quadratic polynomial.
The application of equivalence method to classify Monge-Ampère system leads to three orbits, parabolic case, hyperbolic case and elliptic case wich correspond to three types of Monge-Ampère systems. In this paper we will study the elliptic case and give a presentation of the group as a complex group.
We show the volume maximizing property of the special Lagrangian submanifolds of a pseudo-Euclidean space. These special Lagrangian submanifolds arise locally as gradient graphs of solutions to Monge-Ampere Equations.
We prove the long time existence and uniqueness of solutions to the parabolic Monge-Ampère equation on compact almost Hermitian manifolds. We also show that the normalization of solution converges to a smooth function in $C^{\infty}$ topology as $t\rightarrow\infty$. Up to scaling, the limit function is a solution of the Monge-Ampère equation. This gives a parabolic proof of existence of solutions to the Monge-Ampère equation on almost Hermitian manifolds.
We study generalized complex Monge-Ampère type equations on closed Hermitian manifolds. We derive {\em a priori} estimates and then prove the existence of admissible solutions. Moreover, the gradient estimate is improved.
We study the parabolic flow for generalized complex Monge-Ampère type equations on closed Hermitian manifolds. We derive {\em a priori} $C^\infty$ estimates for normalized solutions, and then prove the $C^\infty$ convergence.
We prove uniform gradient and diameter estimates for a family of geometric complex Monge-Ampere equations. Such estimates can be applied to study geometric regularity of singular solutions of complex Monge-Ampere equations. We also prove a uniform diameter estimate for collapsing families of twisted Kahler-Einstein metrics on Kahler manifolds of nonnegative Kodaira dimensions.
In this paper, by the method of moving planes, we establish the monotonicity and symmetry properties of convex solutions for Monge-Ampere systems on bounded smooth planar domains.
In this paper, we present smooth examples of degenerate hyperbolic and mixed type Monge-Ampere equations in the plane, which do not admit a local C^3 solution.
