In these proceedings we present the main results for particle-antiparticle mixing and rare decays in the Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with custodial symmetry. To investigate the strong bound on the Kaluza-Klein (KK) mass scale M_KK>O(20)TeV implied by the measurement of epsilon_K we perform a fine-tuning analysis on the one hand confirms the quoted bound on the KK mass scale but on the other hand reveals that consistence with experiment can still be achieved for small or moderate fine-tuning. In our analysis of rare decays of K and B mesons we find that due to the custodial symmetry the coupling of the Z boson to right handed quarks yields the dominant contribution. This feature of the model leads to distinct patterns and correlations that allow to distinguish the model from other frameworks of physics beyond the Standard Model (SM).
We present the electroweak and flavour structure of a model with a warped extra dimension and the bulk gauge group SU(3) x SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R x P_LR x U(1)_X. The presence of SU(2)_R implies an unbroken custodial symmetry in the Higgs system allowing to eliminate large contributions to the T parameter, whereas the P_LR symmetry and the enlarged fermion representations provide a custodial symmetry for flavour diagonal and flavour changing couplings of the SM Z boson to left-handed down-type quarks. We diagonalise analytically the mass matrices of charged and neutral gauge bosons including the fi…
We explore the flavour structure of custodial Randall-Sundrum (RS) models in the context of the recently observed deviations in the decay of the $B$ mesons. The anomalies in the $b\rightarrow s ll$ processes can be easily fit with partially composite second generation leptons and third generation quarks. We establish correlation with the parameter space consistent with the flavour anomalies in the neutral current sector and obtain predictions for rare $K$- decay which are likely to be another candle for NP with increased precision. Two scenarios are considered: A) Right handed muon coupled mor…
We present a particular warped extra dimensional model, where the flavour diagonal and flavour non-diagonal Z boson couplings to left-handed down quarks are protected by the custodial symmetry P_LR. After a brief introduction of the model and of its main theoretical motivations, we present a complete study of rare K and B meson decays, including K+ --> pi+ nu anti-nu, K_L --> pi0 nu anti-nu, B_{s,d} --> mu+ mu- and B_{s,d} --> X_{s,d} nu anti-nu. In particular we restrict the parameter space of the model to the subspace which fits all quark masses, CKM mixing parameters and all the measured De…
The Randall-Sundrum framework provides an appealing solution to both the gauge hierarchy and the flavour problem. The model with enlarged custodial symmetry is consistent with electroweak precision observables for Kaluza-Klein (KK) scales as low as 2-3 TeV, so that the lowest-lying KK modes could be observed at the LHC. The presence of the heavy KK gauge bosons induces new tree level contributions to flavour violating observables. We summarise the main results for K and B physics observables in the Delta F = 2 and Delta F = 1 sectors. The specific pattern of new physics effects can be used to …
Tree-level accidental symmetries are known to play a fundamental role in the phenomenology of the Standard Model (SM) for electroweak interactions. So far, no significant deviations from the theory have been observed in precision, flavour and collider physics. Consequently, these global symmetries are expected to remain quite efficient in any attempt beyond the SM. Yet, they do not forbid rather unorthodox phenomena within the reach of current LHC experiments. This is illustrated with a vectophobic Two-Higgs-Doublet-Model (2HDM) where effects of a light, flavour-violating and custodian (pseudo…
We consider recent LHC flavour and Higgs results to constraint a custodial vectophobic Two-Higgs-Doublet-Model (2HDM) where the Minimal Flavour Violation principle (MFV) is implemented to suppress (pseudo)scalar induced flavour changing neutral currents (FCNC).
We summarize the results on patterns of flavour violation in a Randall-Sundrum model with custodial protection (RSc) and compare them with those identified in the Littlest Higgs Model with T--parity (LHT) and in a number of SUSY Flavour Models. While K decays play in this presentation a prominent role, the inclusion of B physics and lepton flavour violation is crucial in the distinction between these three popular extensions of the Standard Model (SM) by means of flavour physics.
The breakdown of E_6 within the supersymmetric (SUSY) Grand Unified Theories (GUTs) can result in SUSY extensions of the standard model (SM) based on the SM gauge group together with extra U(1) gauge symmetry under which right-handed neutrinos have zero charge. In these U(1)_N extensions of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) a single discrete \tilde{Z}^H_2 symmetry may be used to suppress the most dangerous operators, that give rise to proton decay as well as non-diagonal flavour transitions at low energies. The SUSY models under consideration involves Z' and extra exotic matter …
We reconsider the impact of heavy vector-like fermions on the couplings of standard model (SM) quarks to the SM gauge bosons W and Z and to the SM Higgs boson H. Integrating out these fermions at tree level we derive general formulae that can be used in any model containing such particles. We apply these formulae to the case of the lightest Kaluza-Klein (KK) fermions in a Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with a custodial protection of flavour conserving $Zd_L^i d_L^i$ and flavour violating $Zd_L^i d_L^j$ couplings. We point out that in this model also the couplings of $Zu_R^i u_R^i$ and $Zu_R^i u_R^…
I study the scalar representations of the electroweak group of the Standard Model, which is a subgroup of the chiral group U(N)L x U(N)R with N flavours, for N even, with a special emphasis on their chiral properties and on their behaviour by the discrete symmetries P and CP. They exhaust the $2N^2$ scalar and pseudoscalar degrees of freedom of the chiral group, for which a SU(2)L x U(1) renormalizable, anomaly-free gauge theory naturally springs out. It is shown to have a global diagonal SU(2)V symmetry independently of the value of the hypercharge coupling, which becomes local at the limit w…
We investigate precision observables sensitive to custodial symmetric/violating UV physics beyond the Standard Model. We use the SMEFT framework which in general includes non-oblique corrections that requires a generalization of the Peskin-Takeuchi $T$ parameter to unambiguously detect custodial symmetry/violation. We take a first step towards constructing a SMEFT reparameterization-invariant replacement, that we call $\mathscr{T}$, valid at least for tree-level custodial violating contributions. We utilize a new custodial basis of $ν$SMEFT (SMEFT augmented by right-handed neutrinos) which exp…
We present a complete study of Delta S = 2 and Delta B = 2 processes in a warped extra dimensional model with a custodial protection of Z b_L bar b_L, including epsilon_K, Delta M_K, Delta M_s, Delta M_d, A^q_SL, Delta Gamma_q, A_CP(B_d -> psi K_S) and A_CP(B_s -> psi phi). These processes are affected by tree level contributions from Kaluza-Klein gluons, the heavy KK photon, new heavy electroweak gauge bosons Z_H and Z', and in principle by tree level Z contributions. We confirm recent findings that the fully anarchic approach where all the hierarchies in quark masses and weak mixing angles a…
After a brief theoretical introduction of the warped extra-dimensional model with custodial protection the results of arXiv:0809.1073 [hep-ph] are presented. In this work we analyze the impact of Kaluza-Klein (KK) gauge boson modes on Delta F=2 observables, for the first time considering the full operator basis and including NLO renormalization group running. It is pointed out that the dominant contribution in the B-system does not come from the KK gluon, but that contributions from KK excitations of the weak gauge bosons are competitive. In a numerical analysis we assess the amount of fine-tu…
We argue that the consistent implementation of the multiple point principle (MPP) in the general non-supersymmetric two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) can lead to a set of approximate global custodial symmetries that ensure CP conservation in the Higgs sector and the absence of flavour changing neutral currents (FCNC) in the considered model. In particular the existence of a large set of degenerate vacua at some high energy scale $Λ$ caused by the MPP can result in approximate U(1) and Z(2) symmetries that suppress FCNC and CP--violating interactions in the 2HDM. We explore the renormalisation gro…
In this note, a ``littlest higgs'' model is presented which has an approximate custodial SU(2) symmetry. The model is based on the coset space $SO(9)/(SO(5)\times SO(4))$. The light pseudo-goldstone bosons of the theory include a {\it single} higgs doublet below a TeV and a set of three $SU(2)_W$ triplets and an electroweak singlet in the TeV range. All of these scalars obtain approximately custodial SU(2) preserving vacuum expectation values. This model addresses a defect in the earlier $SO(5)\times SU(2)\times U(1)$ moose model, with the only extra complication being an extended top sector. …
The breakdown of E_6 gauge symmetry at high energies may lead to supersymmetric (SUSY) models based on the Standard Model (SM) gauge group together with extra U(1)_ψ and U(1)_χ gauge symmetries. To ensure anomaly cancellation the particle content of these E_6 inspired models involves extra exotic states that generically give rise to non-diagonal flavour transitions and rapid proton decay. We argue that a single discrete \tilde{Z}^{H}_2 symmetry can be used to forbid tree-level flavor-changing transitions, as well as the most dangerous baryon and lepton number violating operators. We present 5D…
I discuss a new Physics scenario, the 331 model, based on the gauge group $SU(3)_c \times SU(3)_L \times U(1)_X$. In particular, I elaborate on correlations between flavour observables in the $B_d$ and $B_s$ systems that can help constraining the model parameters.
In models with partially composite quarks, the couplings of quarks to the Z boson generically receive non-universal corrections that are not only constrained by electroweak precision tests but also lead to flavour-changing neutral currents at tree level. The impact of these flavour-changing couplings on rare K and B decays is studied in two-site models for three scenarios: an anarchic strong sector with two different choices of fermion representations both leading to a custodial protection of the Z->bb coupling, and for a strong sector invariant under a U(2)^3 flavour symmetry. In the complete…
We study quark mass matrices in the Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with bulk symmetry $SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R \times U(1)_{B-L}$. The Yukawa couplings are assumed to be within an order of magnitude of each other, and perturbative. We find that quark mass matrices of the symmetrical form proposed by Koide \textit{et. al.} [Y. Koide, H. Nishiura, K. Matsuda, T. Kikuchi and T. Fukuyama, Phys. Rev. D {\bf 66}, 093006 (2002)] can be accommodated in the RS framework with the assumption of hierarchyless Yukawa couplings, but not the hermitian Fritzsch-type mass matrices. General asymmetrical mass matrice…
Deviations with respect to Standard Model predictions have recently shown up in angular distributions of the FCNC induced mode $B^0 \to K^{*0} μ^+ μ^-$. Within New Physics models, such tensions might be explained by new contributions to the Wilson coefficients of the effective Hamiltonian governing this decay. I discuss the issue in the framework of the Randall-Sundrum model with custodial protection (RS$_c$), giving also predictions for other rare $B$ decays.
The custodial Randall-Sundrum model based on SU(2)_L X SU(2)_R X U(1)_(B-L) generates new flavor-changing-neutral-current (FCNC) phenomena at tree level, mediated by Kaluza-Klein neutral gauge bosons. Based on two natural assumptions of universal 5D Yukawa couplings and no-cancellation in explaining the observed standard model fermion mixing matrices, we determine the bulk Dirac mass parameters. Phenomenological constraints from lepton-flavor-violations are also used to specify the model. From the comprehensive study of B->K* l+ l'-, we found that only the B->K*ee decay has sizable new physics…
We study the contribution of charged Higgs boson to the rare decay of the top quark t->q+WZ (q=d,s,b) in models with Higgs sector that includes doublets and triplets. Higgs doublets are needed to couple charged Higgs with quarks, whereas the Higgs triplets are required to generate the non-standard vertex HWZ at tree-level. It is found that within a model that respect the custodial SU(2) symmetry and avoids flavour changing neutral currents by imposing discrete symmetries, the decay mode t->b+WZ, can reach a branching ratio of order 0.0178, whereas the decay modes t->(d,s)+WZ, can reach a simil…
It has been recently argued that realistic models with warped extra dimensions can have Kaluza-Klein particles accessible at the Large Hadron Collider if a custodial symmetry, SU(2)_V \times P_{LR}, is used to protect the T parameter and the coupling of the left-handed bottom quark to the Z gauge boson. In this article we emphasize that such a symmetry implies that the loop corrections to both the T parameter and the Z b_L \bar{b}_L coupling are calculable. In general, these corrections are correlated, can be sizable, and should be considered to determine the allowed parameter space region in …
Until now the focus within the direct search for supersymmetry has mainly been on flavour diagonal observables. Recently lepton flavour violating signals at future electron positron colliders have been studied. There is now an opportunity to analyse the relations between collider observables and low-energy observables in the hadronic sector. In a first work in this direction, we study flavour violation in the squark decays of the second and third generations taking into account results from B physics, in particular from the rare decay b ->s gamma. Correlations between various squark decay mode…
We calculate the contributions to electroweak precision observables (EWPOs) due to a fourth generation of fermions with the most general (quark-)flavour structure (but assuming Dirac neutrinos and a trivial flavour structure in the lepton sector). The new-physics contributions to the EWPOs are calculated at one-loop order using automated tools (FeynArts/FormCalc). No further approximations are made in our calculation. We discuss the size of non-oblique contributions arising from Z--quark--anti-quark vertex corrections and the dependence of the EWPOs on all CKM mixing angles involving the fourt…
Precision measures of electroweak and flavour observables, at both low and high energies, are highly complementary to direct searches for New Physics at high-energy colliders. Despite the discovery of the Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider, and of the overwhelming successes of the Standard Model, several observational and theoretical problems remain to be addressed. In addition to neutrino oscillation phenomena, the Standard Model fails to explain the baryon asymmetry of the Universe, and does not offer a viable dark matter candidate. In recent years, numerous deviations between the Stan…
We look for predictive flavour patterns of the effective Majorana neutrino mass matrix that are compatible with current neutrino oscillation data. Our search is based on the assumption that the neutrino mass matrix contains equal elements and a minimal number of parameters, in the flavour basis where the charged lepton mass matrix is diagonal and real. Three unique patterns that can successfully explain neutrino observables at the $3σ$ confidence level with just three physical parameters are presented. Neutrino textures described by four and five parameters are also studied. The predictions fo…

We introduce a toy model implementing the proposal of using a custodial symmetry to protect the Zbb coupling from large corrections. This "doublet-extended standard model" adds a weak doublet of fermions (including a heavy partner of the top quark) to the particle content of the standard model in order to implement an O(4) x U(1)_X = SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R x P_{LR} x U(1)_X symmetry that protects the Zbb coupling. This symmetry is softly broken to the gauged SU(2)_L x U(1)_Y electroweak symmetry by a Dirac mass M for the new doublet; adjusting the value of M allows us to explore the range of possib…
A non-Abelian flavour symmetry in a minimal supersymmetric standard model can explain the flavour structures in the Yukawa couplings and simultaneously solve the SUSY flavour problem. Similarly the SUSY CP problem can be solved if CP is spontaneously broken in the flavour sector. In this work, we present an explicit example of these statements with a SU(3) flavour symmetry and spontaneous CP violation. In addition, we show that it is still possible to find some significant deviation from the SM expectations as far as FCNC and CP violation are concerned. We find that large contributions can be …
Higgs triplet models are known to have difficulties obtaining agreement with electroweak precision data and in particular constraints on the $ρ$ parameter. Either a global $SU(2)_L \otimes SU(2)_R$ symmetry has to be imposed on the scalar potential at the electroweak scale, as done in the well-known Georgi-Machacek (GM) model, or the triplet vacuum expectation values must be very small. We construct a supersymmetric model that can satisfy constraints on the $ρ$ parameter, even if these two conditions are not fulfilled. We supersymmetrize the GM model by imposing the $SU(2)_L \otimes SU(2)_R$ s…
We use a new weak basis invariant approach to classify all the observable phases in any extension of the Standard Model (SM). We apply this formalism to determine the invariant CP phases in a simplified version of the Minimal Supersymmetric SM with only three non-trivial flavour structures. We propose four experimental measures to fix completely all the observable phases in the model. After these phases have been determined from experiment, we are able to make predictions on any other CP-violating observable in the theory, much in the same way as in the Standard Model all CP-violation observab…
We calculate a number of observables related to particle-antiparticle mixing and the branching ratios for the most interesting rare and CP-violating K and B decays in the Standard Model (SM3) extended by a fourth generation of quarks and leptons (SM4). A model-independent parameterisation of these observables in terms of gauge-independent functions is adopted, which is useful for studying the breaking of the universality between K, Bd and Bs systems through non-minimal flavour violating interactions. We calculate first the mass differences Delta M_i in the neutral K and B system, the mixing-in…
Additional sources of CP violation in the MSSM may affect B-meson mixings and decays, even in scenarios with minimal flavour violation (MFV). We formulate the maximally CP-violating and minimally flavour-violating (MCPMFV) variant of the MSSM, which has 19 parameters, including 6 phases that violate CP. We then develop a manifestly flavour-covariant effective Lagrangian formalism for calculating Higgs-mediated FCNC observables in the MSSM at large tan(beta), and analyze within the MCPMFV framework FCNC and other processes involving B mesons. We include a new class of dominant subleading contri…
We study the phenomenology of a particular leptoquark extension of the Standard Model (SM), namely the doublet-singlet scalar leptoquark extension of the SM (DSL-SM). Besides generating Majorana mass for neutrinos, these leptoquarks contribute to muon and electron $(g-2)$ and various lepton flavour violating processes. Collider signatures of the benchmark points (BPs), consistent with the neutrino oscillation data, anomalous muon/electron magnetic moments, experimental bounds on the charged lepton flavour violation observables, etc., are studied at the LHC/FCC with centre-of-mass energies of 1…
We propose an alternative to the introduction of an extra gauge (custodial) symmetry to suppress the contribution of KK modes to the T parameter in warped theories of electroweak breaking. The mechanism is based on a general class of warped 5D metrics and a Higgs propagating in the bulk. The metrics are nearly AdS in the UV region but depart from AdS in the IR region, towards where KK fluctuations are mainly localized, and have a singularity outside the slice between the UV and IR branes. This gravitational background is generated by a bulk stabilizing scalar field which triggers a natural sol…
In minimal supersymmetric models the $Z$-penguin usually provides sub-dominant contributions to charged lepton flavour violating observables. In this study, we consider the supersymmetric inverse seesaw in which the non-minimal particle content allows for dominant contributions of the $Z$-penguin to several lepton flavour violating observables. In particular, and due to the low-scale (TeV) seesaw, the penguin contribution to, for instance, $\Br(μ\to 3e)$ and $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei, allows to render some of these observables within future sensitivity reach. Moreover, we show that in this fr…
We briefly review flavour violation in the lepton sector: starting from neutrino oscillations and their implications, we consider several charged lepton flavour violating observables at high and low energies. We present new physics models and discuss the rôle of the latter in disentangling them. In particular, we show how the interplay of different observables allows to derive important information on the underlying mechanism of lepton flavour violation. As an example, we discuss the impact of a type-I SUSY seesaw concerning lepton flavour violation at low energies and at colliders (LHC and a …
We analyse the sensitivity of quark flavour-changing observables to the MSSM, in a regime of heavy superpartner masses. We analyse four distinct and motivated frameworks characterising the structure of the soft-breaking terms by means of approximate flavour symmetries. We show that a set of six low-energy observables with realistic chances of improvement in the near future, namely $ΔM_{s,d}$, $ε_K$, $ε_K'/ε_K$, $\mathcal{B} (K\to πν\barν)$, and the phase of $D$--$\bar D$ mixing, could play a very important role in charactering these frameworks in a regime of superpartner masses up to $\mathcal…
Extending the Standard Model with higher-dimensional operators in an effective-field-theory (EFT) approach provides a systematic framework to study new-physics (NP) effects from a bottom-up perspective, as long as the NP scale is sufficiently large compared to the energies probed in the experimental observables. However, when taking into account the different quark and lepton flavours, the number of free parameters increases dramatically, which makes generic studies of the NP flavour structure infeasible. In this paper, we address this issue in view of the recently observed "flavour anomalies"…
If observed, charged lepton flavour violation is a clear sign of new physics - beyond the Standard Model minimally extended to accommodate neutrino oscillation data. After a brief review of several charged lepton flavour violation observables and their current experimental status, we consider distinct extensions of the Standard Model which could potentially give rise to observable signals, focusing on the case of models in which the mechanism of neutrino mass generation is the common source of neutral and charged lepton flavour violation.
In split-family SUSY, one can use a U(2)^3 symmetry to protect flavour observables in the quark sector from SUSY contributions. However, attempts to extend this procedure to the lepton sector by using an analogous U(2)^5 symmetry fail to reproduce the neutrino data without introducing some form of fine-tuning. In this work, we solve this problem by shifting the U(2)^2 symmetry acting on leptons towards the second and third generations. This allows neutrino data to be reproduced without much difficulties, as well as protecting the leptonic flavour observables from SUSY. Key signatures are a $μ\…
We present a complete study of rare K and B meson decays in a warped extra dimensional model with a custodial protection of (both diagonal and non-diagonal) Z d_L^i \bar d_L^j couplings, including K^+ -> pi^+ nu anti-nu, K_L -> pi^0 nu anti-nu, K_L -> pi^0 l^+ l^-, K_L -> mu^+ mu^-, B_{s,d} -> mu^+ mu^-, B -> K nu anti-nu, B -> K^* nu anti-nu and B -> X_{s,d} nu anti-nu. In this model in addition to Standard Model one loop contributions these processes receive tree level contributions from the Z boson and the new heavy electroweak gauge bosons. We analyse all these contributions that turn out …
Assuming the observation of a squark at the Large Hadron Collider, we investigate methods to access its flavour content and thus gain information on the underlying flavour structure of the theory. Based on simple observables, we apply a likelihood inference method to determine the top-flavour content of the observed particle. In addition, we employ a multivariate analysis in order to classify different flavour hypotheses. Both methods are discussed within a simplified model and the more general Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model including most general squark mixing. We conclude that the lik…
We discuss several manifestations of charged lepton flavour violation at high energies. Focusing on a supersymmetric type I seesaw, considering constrained and semi-constrained supersymmetry breaking scenarios, we analyse different observables, both at the LHC and at a future Linear Collider. We further discuss how the synergy between low- and high-energy observables can shed some light on the underlying mechanism of lepton flavour violation.
We show how the symmetry breaking pattern of the simplest little Higgs model, and that of the smallest moose model that incorporates an approximate custodial SU(2), can be realized through the condensation of strongly coupled fermions. In each case a custodial SU(2) symmetry of the new strong dynamics limits the sizes of corrections to precision electroweak observables. In the case of the simplest little Higgs, there are no new light states beyond those present in the original model. However, our realization of the symmetry breaking pattern of the moose model predicts an additional scalar fiel…
I present a review of phenomenological implications of the Randall-Sundrum (RS) model with bulk fermions and brane-localized Higgs boson. Modifications to the W-boson mass, corrections to the Peskin-Takeuchi parameters and to the Z -> bb couplings will be discussed. From these observables severe bounds on the mass scale of Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes arise. Constraints from all three observables are very sensitive to the exact value of the Higgs boson mass and the bounds can be significantly lowered by allowing for a heavy Higgs boson (m_h ~ 1 TeV). Consequences thereof, as well as other approache…
We present a comparison between two recently developed colour reconnection models, the new colour reconnection model in PYTHIA and the DIPSY rope hadronization model. Specifically we investigate ratios of identified hadron yields as a function of the final-state activity, as measured by the charged multiplicity. Since both models have a nontrivial dependence on the final-state activity, the above observables serve as excellent probes to test the effect of these models. Both models show a clear baryon enhancement with increasing multiplicity, while only the DIPSY rope model leads to a strangene…
We present a short overview of recent work on the topic of flavour violation in the presence of a sequential fourth generation (4G) of quarks and leptons. We discuss the implications of this simple extension of the Standard Model (SM3) for rare decays and CP violating observables. The observables of interest were chosen with the start of the LHC, the approval of SuperBelle and the upcoming NA62 experiment in mind. A special emphasis is placed on the importance of epsilon-prime/epsilon as a constraint for this model.
We present a class of composite Higgs models arising from a warped extra dimension that can satisfy all the electroweak precision tests in a significant portion of their parameter space. A custodial symmetry plays a crucial role in keeping the largest corrections to the electroweak observables below their experimental limits. In these models the heaviness of the top quark is not only essential to trigger the electroweak symmetry breaking, but it also implies that the lowest top resonance and its custodial partners, the custodians, are significantly lighter than the other resonances. These cust…
The Leptoquark model has been instrumental in explaining the observed lepton flavour universality violating charged ($b\to c$) and neutral ($b\to s$) current anomalies that have been the cause for substantial excitement in particle physics recently. In this article we have studied the role of one (designated as $V_2^{\frac 43}$) of the components of {\boldmath${V}_2$} Vector Leptoquark doublet with electromagnetic charge $\frac 43$ in explaining the neutral current ($b\to s$) anomalies $R_{K^{(*)}}$ and $B_s\toμ^+μ^-$. Moreover, we have performed a thorough collider search for this $V_2^{\frac…
If the mechanism of Supersymmetry breaking is not flavour blind, some flavour symmetry is likely to be needed to prevent excessive flavour changing neutral current effects. We discuss two flavour models (based respectively on a U(2) and on a SU(3) horizontal symmetry) providing a good fit to fermion masses and mixings and particularly constraining the supersymmetry soft breaking terms. We show that, while reproducing successfully the Standard Model fit of the unitarity triangle, it is possible to obtain sizable deviations from the Standard Model predictions for three very clean B-physics obser…
We analyse the new physics implications of theoretically clean $b \to s$ observables in a model-independent approach and compare their coherence with the implications of other rare $B$-decays. A statistical comparison is done between the New Physics explanation and hadronic contributions as the source of the anomalies in angular observables of the $B\to K^*μμ$ decay. We make projections for future measurements that indicate that LHCb will be in the position to discover lepton non-universality via a single observable using the Run 3 data. The global fit of rare $B$-decays is given within a mult…
Neutrino oscillations as suggested by the recent Super-Kamiokande result imply that lepton numbers could be violated, and Z$\to μ^{\mp} +τ^{\pm}$ is a typical manifestation. We point out that for this mode, the GIM cancelation is much milder with only a logarithmic behavior $\log (m_3 /m_2)$ where $m_j$ is the neutrino mass. The ratio $Γ$(Z $\to μ^{\mp} + τ^{\pm})/Γ($Z $ \to μ^{-} + μ^{+})$ could be about $10^{-5}-10^{-6}$, in sharp contrast with the vanishingly small rate $τ^{\pm}\to μ^{\pm} + γ$ strongly suppressed by a quadratic power $(m_3^2-m_2^2)/ M_{\rm W}^2$. Being complementary to neu…
