A hybrid lattice-statistical model of doubly decorated two-dimensional lattices, which have localized Ising spins at its nodal sites and itinerant electrons delocalized over decorating sites, is exactly solved with the help of a generalized decoration-iteration transformation. Under the assumption of a quarter filling of each couple of the decorating sites, the ground state constitutes either spontaneously long-range ordered ferromagnetic or ferrimagnetic phase in dependence on whether the ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic interaction between the localized Ising spins and itinerant electrons is considered. The critical temperature of the spontaneously long-range ordered phases monotonically increases upon strengthening the ratio between the kinetic term and the Ising-type exchange interaction.
Applying the decoration-iteration procedure, we introduce a class of exactly solvable doubly decorated planar models consisting both of the Ising- and Heisenberg-type atoms. Exact solutions for the ground state, phase diagrams and basic physical quantities are derived and discussed. The detailed analysis of the relevant quantities suggests the existence of an interesting quantum antiferromagnetic phase in the system.
Ground-state properties of the spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising-Heisenberg model on doubly decorated planar lattices, are investigated in detail. On the basis of the mapping transformation method, we prove an existence of unusual quantum phases which occur due to the competition between Ising-type and XXZ anizotropic Heisenberg-type interactions. Effect of the crystal field on the ground-state phase boundaries has been also examined in detail.
Magnetic properties of a ternary-spin Ising model on the decorated square lattice are studied within a generalized decoration-iteration transformation. Depending on the mutual ratio between exchange interactions and the single-ion anisotropy, there appear six different phases in the ground state. The magnetic order of these phases together with the critical behaviour and corresponding magnetization curves are discussed in detail.
Ground-state and finite-temperature behaviour of the mixed spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising-Heisenberg model on decorated planar lattices consisting of inter-connected diamonds is investigated by means of the generalised decoration-iteration mapping transformation. The obtained exact results clearly point out that this model has a rather complex ground state composed of two unusual quantum phases, which is valid regardless of the lattice topology as well as the spatial dimensionality of the investigated system. It is shown that the diamond-like decorated planar lattices with a sufficiently high coord…
The generalized mapping transformation technique is used to obtain the exact solution for the transverse Ising model on decorated planar lattices. Within this scheme, the basic thermodynamic quantities are calculated for different planar lattices with arbitrary spins of decorating atoms. The particular attention has been paid to the investigation of the transverse-field effects on magnetic properties of the system under investigation. The most interesting numerical results for the phase diagrams, compensation temperatures and several thermodynamic quantities are discussed in detail for the fer…
The ground state, zero-temperature magnetization process, critical behaviour and isothermal entropy change of the mixed-spin Ising model on a decorated triangular lattice in a magnetic field are exactly studied after performing the generalized decoration-iteration mapping transformation. It is shown that both the inverse and conventional magnetocaloric effect can be found near the absolute zero temperature. The former phenomenon can be found in a vicinity of the discontinuous phase transitions and their crossing, while the latter one occurs in some paramagnetic phases due to a spin frustration…
The generalized decoration-iteration transformation is adopted to treat exactly a hybrid model of doubly decorated two-dimensional lattices, which have localized Ising spins at their nodal lattice sites and itinerant electrons delocalized over pairs of decorating sites. Under the assumption of a half filling of each couple of the decorating sites, the investigated model system exhibits a remarkable spontaneous antiferromagnetic long-range order with an obvious quantum reduction of the staggered magnetization. It is shown that the critical temperature of the spontaneously long-range ordered qua…
Competitive effects of so-called three-site four-spin interactions, single ion anisotropy and bilinear interactions is studied in the mixed spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising model on a decorated square lattice. Exploring the decoration-iteration transformation, we have obtained exact closed-form expressions for the partition function and other thermodynamic quantities of the model. From these relations, we have numerically determined ground- state and finite-temperature phase diagrams of the system. We have also investigated temperature variations of the correlation functions, internal energy, entropy…
Thermal first-order phase transitions, Ising critical points, and reentrance in the Ising-Heisenberg model on the diamond-decorated square lattice in a magnetic field
We study the spin-1/2 Ising-XXZ model on a decorated honeycomb lattice composed of five spins per unit cell, one Ising spin, and four Heisenberg spins. This model involving the Heisenberg exchange interaction is one of the few models that can be exactly solvable through the generalized star-triangle transformation. The significance of this model is its close relationship to the fully decorated quantum Heisenberg honeycomb lattice since 4/5 of the particles are Heisenberg spins. We investigate the phase diagram at zero temperature and identify a relevant quantum spin frustrated phase resulting …
In this work we deal with doubly decorated Ising-Heisenberg models on planar lattices. Applying the generalized decoration-iteration transformation we obtain exact results for the antiferromagnetic version of the model. The existence of a new quantum dimerized phase is predicted and its physical properties are studied and analyzed. Particular attention has been paid to the investigation of the phase boundaries, pair-correlation functions and specific heat. A possible application of the present work to some molecular magnets is also drawn.
A hybrid lattice-statistical model on doubly decorated planar lattices, which have localized Ising spins at their nodal lattice sites and two itinerant electrons at each pair of decorating sites, is exactly solved by the use of a generalized decoration-iteration transformation. Our main attention is focused on an in uence of the on-site Coulomb repulsion on ground-state properties and critical behavior of the investigated system.
We consider two lattice models for strongly correlated electrons which are exactly-solvable in one dimension. Along with the Hubbard model and the su(2|2) spin chain, these are the only parity-invariant models that can be obtained from Shastry's R-matrix. One exhibits itinerant ferromagnetic behaviour, while for the other the electrons form bound pairs and at half-filling the model becomes insulating. We derive the TBA equations for the models, analyze them at various limits, and in particular obtain zero temperature phase diagrams. Furthermore we consider extensions of the models, which reduc…
Here we consider the Ising-Heisenberg model in the expanded Kagomé lattice, also known as triangle-dodecagon (3-12) or star lattice. This model can still be understood as a decorated honeycomb lattice. Assuming that the Heisenberg spins are at the vertices of the triangle while other spins are of the Ising type. Thus, this model is equivalent to an effective Kagomé Ising lattice, through the decoration transformation technique. Thus this means that the model is exactly solvable so we can study the most relevant properties of this model. Like the phase diagram at zero temperature, exhibiting a …
