Using hard-loop (HL) effective theory for an anisotropic non-Abelian plasma, which even in the static limit involves nonvanishing HL vertices, we calculate the imaginary part of the static next-to-leading-order gluon self energy in the limit of a small anisotropy and with external momentum parallel to the anisotropy direction. At leading order, the static propagator has space-like poles corresponding to plasma instabilities. On the basis of a calculation using bare vertices, it has been conjectured that, at next-to-leading order, the static gluon self energy acquires an imaginary part which regulates these space-like poles. We find that the one-loop resummed expression taken over naively from the imaginary-time formalism does yield a nonvanishing imaginary part even after including all HL vertices. However, this result is not correct. Starting from the real-time formalism, which is required in a non-equilibrium situation, we construct a resummed retarded HL propagator with correct causality properties and show that the static limit of the retarded one-loop-resummed gluon self-energy is real. This result is also required for the time-ordered propagator to exist at next-to-leading order.
The paper presents a system of nonlinear Lorentz-invariant equations. The behavior of their localized solutions is analogous to the processes of formation of azimuthal-anisotropic elliptical flows of quark-gluon plasma and hadron jets. In contrast to the hydrodynamic models of an ideal fluid, the elliptic flow in this model has a significant negative acceleration. The presence of the negative acceleration allows us to propose a hypothesis about the direct elliptic flow of photons as braking radiation QGP.

We introduce a method for reducing anisotropic heavy-quark potentials to isotropic potentials by using an effective screening mass that depends on the quantum numbers $l$ and $m$ of a given state. We demonstrate that, using the resulting 1D effective potential model, one can solve a 1D Schrödinger equation and reproduce the full 3D results for the energies and binding energies of low-lying heavy-quarkonium bound states to relatively high accuracy. This includes the splitting of different p-wave polarizations. The resulting 1D effective model provides a way to include momentum anisotropy effect…

We generalize a complex heavy-quark potential model from an isotropic QCD plasma to an anisotropic one by replacing the Debye mass $m_D$ with an anisotropic screening mass depending on the quark pair alignment with respect to the direction of anisotropy. Such an angle-dependent mass is determined by matching the perturbative contributions in the potential model to the exact result obtained in the Hard-Thermal-Loop resummed perturbation theory. An advantage of the resulting potential model is that its angular dependence can be effectively described by using a set of angle-averaged screening mas…
For a moving heavy quark antiquark ($Q\bar{Q}$) in a quark gluon plasma (QGP), we use gauge/gravity duality to study both real and imaginary parts of the potential (Re$V_{Q\bar{Q}}$ and Im$V_{Q\bar{Q}}$ respectively) in a gluon condensate (GC) theory. The complex potential is derived from the Wilson loop by considering the thermal fluctuations of the worldsheet of the Nambu-Goto holographic string. We calculate Re$V_{Q\bar{Q}}$ and Im$V_{Q\bar{Q}}$ in both cases where the axis of the moving $Q\bar{Q}$ pair is transverse and parallel with respect to its direction of movement in the plasma. Usin…
Having in mind the pre-equilibrium stage in peripheral heavy-ion collisions as a possible scenario for the production of electromagnetic radiation, we compute the two-gluon one-photon vertex in the presence of an intense magnetic field at one-loop order. The quarks in the loop are taken such that two of them occupy the lowest Landau level, with the third one occupying the first exited Landau level. When the field strength is the largest of the energy (squared) scales, the tensor basis describing this vertex corresponds to two of the three vector particles polarized in the longitudinal directio…
We examined the effects of the weak magnetic field on the dissociation of heavy quarkonia immersed in a thermal medium of quarks and gluons. For that purpose, we have revisited the general structure of gluon self-energy tensor in the presence of a weak magnetic field in thermal medium and obtained the relevant structure functions. The structure functions give the real and imaginary parts of the resummed gluon propagator, which further give the respective dielectric permittivities. The real and imaginary parts of the dielectric permittivity will be used to evaluate the real and imaginary parts …
Due to the rapid longitudinal expansion of the quark-gluon plasma created in heavy-ion collisions, large local-rest-frame momentum-space anisotropies are generated during the system's evolution. These momentum-space anisotropies complicate the modeling of heavy-quarkonium dynamics in the quark-gluon plasma due to the fact that the resulting inter-quark potentials are spatially anisotropic, requiring real-time solution of the 3D Schrödinger equation. Herein, we introduce a method for reducing anisotropic heavy-quark potentials to isotropic ones by introducing an effective screening mass that de…
