Quantum teleportation of a n-qubit state performed using as entangled resource a general bipartite state of 2n qubits instead of n Bell states is equivalent to a correlated Pauli channel. This provides a new characterization of such channels in terms of many-body correlation functions of the teleporting media. Our model is then generalized to the Continuous Variable case. We show that this new representation provides a relatively simple method for determining whether a correlated quantum channel is able to reliably convey quantum messages by studying the entanglement properties of the teleportation mediating system.
Quantum teleportation is studied in noninertial frame, for fermionic case, when Alice and Bob share a general nonclassical correlated state. In noninertial frames two fidelities of teleportation are given. It is found that the average fidelity of teleportation from a separable and nonclassical correlated state is increasing with the amount of nonclassical correlation of the state. However, for any particular nonclassical correlated state, the fidelity of teleportation decreases by increasing the acceleration.
Motivated by the results of C. Macchiavello and G. M. Palma on entanglement-enhanced information transmission over a quantum channel with correlated noise, we demonstrate how the entanglement teleportation scheme of J. Lee and M. S. Kim gives rise to two uncorrelated generalized depolarizing channels. In an attempt to find a teleportation scheme which yields two correlated generalized depolarizing channels, we discover a novel teleportation scheme, which allows one to learn about the entanglement in an entangled pure input state, but without decreasing the amount of entanglement associated wit…
Quantum discord and quantum entanglement are resources in some quantum information processing (QIP) models. However, in recent years, the evidence that separable states or classically correlated states can also accomplish QIP is demonstrated. It provides a useful tool since such states are easier to prepare. Quantum coherence is a measure of non-classical correlation, containing entanglement and discord as a subset. Nowadays, it is of interest whether quantum coherence can act as a resource in QIP independently or not, without the help from quantum discord or entanglement. In this paper, we sh…
We propose dissociation of cold diatomic molecules as a source of atom pairs with highly correlated (entangled) positions and momenta, approximating the original quantum state introduced by Einstein, Podolsky and Rosen (EPR) [Phys. Rev. 47, 777 (1935)]. Wavepacket teleportation is shown to be achievable by its collision with one of the EPR correlated atoms and manipulation of the other atom in the pair.
We propose a protocol in which the faithful and deterministic teleportation of an arbitrary mixture of diagonal states is completed $via$ classical correlation and classical communication. Our scheme can be generalized straightforwardly to the case of $N$-qubits by using $N$ copies of classical correlated pairs and classical communication. Moreover, a varying scheme by using the generalized classical correlated state within a multiqubit space is also presented. In addition, the arbitrary mixed state whose set of eigenvectors is known are a direct application of our protocol.
The one-qubit teleportation protocol is reexamined when it is executed in the presence of various decohering environments. The results revealed that this quantum protocol is more robust under the influence of dephaisng environment than those under the influence of dissipative or noisy environment. The environment may deprive the quantum advantage of teleportation over purely classical communication in a finite or infinite lifetime, which is dependent on the type of environment. Also we found that except entanglement, the purity of the entangled state resource is also crucial in determine the q…
Recently, de Visser and Blaauboer [Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 96}, 246801 (2006)] proposed the most efficient deterministic teleportation protocol $\cal T$ for electron spins in a semiconductor nanostructure consisting of a single and a double quantum dot. However, it is as yet unknown if $\cal T$ can be completed before decoherence sets in. In this paper we analyze the detrimental effect of nuclear spin baths, the main source of decoherence, on $\cal T$. We show that nonclassical teleportation fidelity can be achieved with $\cal T$ provided certain conditions are met. Our study indicates that real…
We propose a protocol to achieve high fidelity quantum state teleportation of a macroscopic atomic ensemble using a pair of quantum-correlated atomic ensembles. We show how to prepare this pair of ensembles using quasiperfect quantum state transfer processes between light and atoms. Our protocol relies on optical joint measurements of the atomic ensemble states and magnetic feedback reconstruction.
Transfer of entanglement and information is studied for quantum teleportation of an unknown entangled state through noisy quantum channels. We find that the quantum entanglement of the unknown state can be lost during the teleportation even when the channel is quantum correlated. We introduce a fundamental parameter of correlation information which dissipates linearly during the teleportation through the noisy channel. Analyzing the transfer of correlation information, we show that the purity of the initial state is important in determining the entanglement of the replica state.
Recently we have considered two-qubit teleportation via mixed states of four qubits and defined the generalized singlet fraction. For single-qubit teleportation, Badziag {\em et al.} [Phys. Rev. A {\bf 62}, 012311 (2000)] and Bandyopadhyay [Phys. Rev. A {\bf 65}, 022302 (2002)] have obtained a family of entangled two-qubit mixed states whose teleportation fidelity can be enhanced by subjecting one of the qubits to dissipative interaction with the environment via an amplitude damping channel. Here, we show that a dissipative interaction with the local environment via a pair of time-correlated a…

We provide an alternative simple proof of the necessity of entanglement in quantum teleportation by using the no-disentanglement theorem. We show that this is true even when the state to be teleported is known to be among two noncommuting qubits. We further show that to teleport any set of commuting qubits, it is sufficient to have a classically correlated channel. Using this result we provide a simple proof of the fact that any set of bipartite entangled states can be exactly disentangled if the single particle density matrices of any one party commute.
The quantum teleportation process is composed of a joint measurement performed upon two subsystems A and B (uncorrelated), followed by a unitary transformation (parameters of which depend on the outcome of the measurement) performed upon a third subsystem C (EPR correlated with system B). The information about the outcome of the measurement is transferred by classical means. The measurement performed upon the systems A and B collapses their joint wavefunction into one of the four {\it entangled} Bell states. It is shown here that this measurement process plus a possible measurement on the thir…
We show that, by utilising temporal quantum correlations as expressed by pseudo-density operators (PDOs), it is possible to recover formally the standard quantum dynamical evolution as a sequence of teleportations in time. We demonstrate that any completely positive evolution can be formally reconstructed by teleportation with different temporally correlated states. This provides a different interpretation of maximally correlated PDOs, as resources to induce quantum time-evolution. Furthermore, we note that the possibility of this protocol stems from the strict formal correspondence between sp…
A one-dimensional topological superconductor features a single fermionic zero mode that is delocalized over two Majorana bound states located at the ends of the system. We study a pair of spatially separated nanomechanical oscillators tunnel-coupled to these Majorana modes. Most interestingly, we demonstrate that the combination of electron-phonon coupling and a finite charging energy on the mesoscopic topological superconductor can lead to an effective superexchange between the oscillators via the non-local fermionic zero mode. We further show that this teleportation mechanism leads to entang…
In this article, we exploit the different notions of quantumness measure to understand the properties of the Heisenberg XY model with and without PT-symmetric operation. In the absence of PT-symmetry, we study the significance of different measures, namely entanglement and measurement induced nonlocality (MIN), in the detection of the quantumness of the Heisenberg XY model. It is observed that the quantum correlations and teleportation fidelity monotonically decreases with respect to temperature. Furthermore, the intervention of PT-symmetric operation enhances the strengths of quantum correlat…
With progress towards more compact quantum computing architectures, fundamental questions regarding the entanglement of indistinguishable particles need to be addressed. In a solid state device, this quest is naturally connected to the quantum correlations of electrons. Here, we investigate the entanglement between electrons, focusing on the entanglement of modes, the entanglement of particles and the effect of particle-number superselection rules. We elucidate the formation of mode and particle entanglement in strongly correlated materials and show that both represent important resources in q…
It is shown that the information losses due to the limited fidelity of continuous variable quantum teleportation are equivalent to the losses induced by a beam splitter of appropriate reflectivity.
In this work we analyze the quantum correlations in a spin-1/2 Ising-XXZ diamond chain with one plaquette distorted impurity. We have shown that the introduction of impurity into the chain can significantly increase entanglement as well as quantum correlations compared to the original model, without impurity. Due to the great flexibility in the choice of impurity parameters, the model presented is very general and this fact can be very useful for future experimental measurements. In addition to entanglement and quantum coherence, we studied quantum teleportation through a quantum channel compo…
We study quantum teleportation via Bell-diagonal mixed states of two qubits in the context of the intrinsic properties of the quantum discord. We show that when the quantum-correlated state of the two qubits is used for quantum teleportation the character of the teleportation efficiency changes substantially depending on the Bell-diagonal-state parameters, which can be seen when the worst-case-scenario or best-case-scenario fidelity is studied. Depending on the parameter range, one of two types of single qubit states is hardest/easiest to teleport. The transition between these two parameter ra…
We report experimental results on the action of selected local environments on the fidelity of the quantum teleportation protocol, taking into account non-ideal, realistic entangled resources. Different working conditions are theoretically identified, where a noisy protocol can be made almost insensitive to further addition of noise. We put to test these conditions on a photonic implementation of the quantum teleportation algorithm, where two polarization entangled qubits act as the entangled resource and a path qubit on Alice encodes the state to be teleported. Bob's path qubit is used to imp…
We obtain the maximal average fidelity corresponding to the standard quantum teleportation protocol for an arbitrary isotropic distribution of input states and an arbitrary resource state. We extend this result to a family of von Neumann measurements, which includes the projections onto the computational and Bell basis, considering a Bell-diagonal resource state. We focus on three specific isotropic distributions of input states: 1) completely mixed input states, 2) states with a certain (fixed) degree of purity, and 3) quasi-pure input states. We show that the standard quantum teleportation p…
We give a description of balanced homodyne detection (BHD) using a conventional laser as a local oscillator (LO), where the laser field outside the cavity is a mixed state whose phase is completely unknown. A scheme is proposed to teleport charge qubits via superradiance. Reservoir-induced entanglement is generated between two semiconductor dots in a microcavity where a quantum state encoded in a third quantum dot is then tuned into collective decay with one of the entangled dots. Teleportation is achieved automatically in our scheme which we also extend to quantum wires.
Energy in a multipartite quantum system appears from an operational perspective to be distributed to some extent non-locally because of correlations extant among the system's components. This non-locality allows users to transfer, in effect, locally accessible energy between sites of different system components by LOCC (local operations and classical communication). Quantum energy teleportation is a three-step LOCC protocol, accomplished without an external energy carrier, for effectively transferring energy between two physically separated, but correlated, sites. We apply this LOCC teleportat…

Quantum transduction refers to the coherent conversion between microwave and optical states, which can be achieved by quantum teleportation if given high fidelity microwave-optical entanglement, namely entanglement-based quantum transduction. Reliable microwave-optical entanglement can be generated using various platforms. In this paper, we base the discussion on piezo-optomechanical system and make the teleportation induced conversion scheme more concrete in the framework of quantum channel theory. By comparing the quantum capacity between the entanglement-based conversion channel and the tra…

By leveraging shared entanglement between a pair of qubits, one can teleport a quantum state from one particle to another. Recent advances have uncovered an intrinsically many-body generalization of quantum teleportation, with an elegant and surprising connection to gravity. In particular, the teleportation of quantum information relies on many-body dynamics, which originate from strongly-interacting systems that are holographically dual to gravity; from the gravitational perspective, such quantum teleportation can be understood as the transmission of information through a traversable wormhole…
A scheme for suppressing the correlated noise in signals transmitted over the bosonic Gaussian memory channels is proposed. This is a compromise solution rather than removing the noise completely. The scheme is based on linear optical elements, two $N$-port splitters and $N$ number of phase flips. The proposed scheme has the advantages that the correlated noise of the memory channels are greatly suppressed, and the input signal states can be protected excellently when transmitting over the noise channels. We examine the suppressing efficiency of the scheme for the correlated noise, both from q…
A current-biased low-temperature superconducting Josephson junction (JJ) is dynamically describable by the quantized motion of a fictitious particle in a "washboard" potential. The long coherence time of tightly-bound states in the washboard potential of a JJ has prompted the effort to couple JJs and operate them as entangled qubits, capable of forming building blocks of a scalable quantum computer. Here we consider a hitherto unexplored quantum aspect of coupled JJs: the ability to produce Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) entanglement of their continuous variables, namely, their magnetic fluxes …
Gaussian noise induced by loss on Gaussian states may be corrected by distributing EPR entanglement through the loss channel, purifying the entanglement using a noiseless linear amplifier (NLA) and then using it for continuous-variable teleportation of the input state. Linear optical implementations of the NLA unavoidably introduce small amounts of excess noise and detection and source efficiency will be limited in current implementations. In this paper, we analyze the error-correction protocol with non-unit efficiency sources and detectors and show the excess noise may be partially compensate…
The application of Quantum Teleportation for control of classical dynamic systems and autonomy is proposed in this paper. First, a review of how Quantum Entanglement and Quantum Cryptography can be integrated into macr…
