It was found in [Phys.Lett.B 675 (2009) 98] that information is conserved in the process of black hole evaporation, by using the tunneling formulism and considering the correlations between emitted particles. In this Letter, we shall include quantum gravity effects, by taking into account of the log-area correction to Bekenstein-Hawking entropy. The correlation between successively emitted particles is calculated, with Planck-scale corrections. By considering the black hole evaporation process, entropy conservation is checked, and the existence of black hole remnant is emphasized. We conclue in this case information can leak out through the radiation and black hole evaporation is still a unitary process.
We define the Bondi energy for two-dimensional dilatonic gravity theories by generalizing the known expression of the ADM energy. We show that our definition of the Bondi energy is exactly the ADM energy minus the radiation energy at null infinity. An explicit calculation is done for the evaporating black hole in the RST model with the Strominger's ghost decoupling term. It is shown that the infalling matter energy is completely recovered through the Hawking radiation and the thunderpop.
The conservation of energy implies that an isolated radiating black hole cannot have an emission spectrum that is precisely thermal. Moreover, the no-hair theorem is only approximately applicable. We consider the implications for the black hole information puzzle.
In this work, we calculate the Hawking temperature for a quantum corrected black hole geometry using the $reflection$ $from$ $the$ $horizon$ method. We observe that quantum gravity corrections indeed show up in the Hawking temperature formula of the quantum corrected black hole. It is important to notice that the quantum gravity corrections arise in the Hawking temperature formula only due to the underlying quantum gravity corrections to the lapse function of the black hole metric rather than the semi-classical methods used in the analysis. We also substantiate our result by computing the Hawk…
In both classical and quantum world, information cannot appear or disappear. This fundamental principle, however, is questioned for a black hole, by the acclaimed "information loss paradox". Based on the conservation laws of energy, charge, and angular momentum, we recently show the total information encoded in the correlations among Hawking radiations equals exactly to the same amount previously considered lost, assuming the non-thermal spectrum of Parikh and Wilczek. Thus the information loss paradox can be falsified through experiments by detecting correlations, for instance, through measur…
We investigate the features of the non-corrected thermal (non-thermal) spectrum and the quantum corrected thermal (non-thermal) spectrum. We find that: (i) using the quantum corrected non-thermal spectra, the black hole radiation as tunneling is an entropy conservation process, and thus black hole evaporation process is unitary; (ii) there are no obvious differences between all spectra except for near the Planck mass scale by comparing their average emission energies, average numbers of emissions and average emission energy fluctuations; (iii) the energy covariances of Hawking radiations for a…

An argument by Banks, Susskind and Peskin (BSP), according to which violation of unitarity would violate either locality or energy-momentum conservation, is widely believed to be a strong argument against non-unitarity of Hawking radiation. We find that the whole BSP argument rests on the crucial assumption that the Hamiltonian is not highly degenerate, and point out that this assumption is not satisfied for systems with many degrees of freedom. Using Lindblad equation, we show that high degeneracy of the Hamiltonian allows local non-unitary evolution without violating energy-momentum conserva…
Recent work, which treats the Hawking radiation as a semi-classical tunneling process at the horizon of the Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordstrom spacetimes, indicates that the exact radiant spectrum is no longer pure thermal after considering the black hole background as dynamical and the conservation of energy. In this paper, we extend the method to investigate Hawking radiation as massless particles tunneling across the event horizon of the Kerr black hole and that of charged particles from the Kerr-Newman black hole by taking into account the energy conservation, the angular momentum conser…
We give a new and conceptually simple approach to obtain the first law of black hole thermodynamics from a basic thermodynamical property that entropy (S) for any stationary black hole is a state function implying that dS must be an exact differential. Using this property we obtain some conditions which are analogous to Maxwell's relations in ordinary thermodynamics. From these conditions we are able to explicitly calculate the semiclassical Bekenstein-Hawking entropy, considering the most general metric represented by the Kerr-Newman spacetime. We extend our method to find the corrected entro…
Recent work that treats the Hawking radiation as a semi-classical tunnelling process from the four-dimensional Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordstrom black holes is extended to the case of higher dimensional Reissner-Nordstrom-de Sitter black holes. The result shows that the tunnelling rate is related to the change of Bekenstein-Hawking entropy and the exact radiant spectrum is no longer precisely thermal after considering the black hole background as dynamical and incorporating the self-gravitation effect of the emitted particles when the energy conservation and electric charge conservation are…
Hawking radiation viewed as a semiclassical tunneling process from the event horizon of the (2 + 1)-dimensional rotating BTZ black hole is carefully reexamined by taking into account not only the energy conservation but also the conservation of angular momentum when the effect of the emitted particle's self-gravitation is incorporated. In contrast to previous analysis of this issue in the literature, our result obtained here fits well to the Kraus-Parikh-Wilczek's universal conclusion without any modification to the Bekenstein-Hawking area-entropy formulae of the BTZ black hole.
Applying the Hamilton--Jacobi method we investigate the tunneling of photon across the event horizon of a static spherically symmetric black hole. The necessity of the gauge condition on the photon field, to derive the semiclassical Hawking temperature, is explicitly shown. Also, the tunneling of photon and gravitino beyond this semiclassical approximation are presented separately. Quantum corrections of the action for both cases are found to be proportional to the semiclassical contribution. Modifications to the Hawking temperature and Bekenstein-Hawking area law are thereby obtained. Using t…
We investigate the effect of quantum correction on Hawking radiation for Schwarzschild black holes. We consider Hawking temperature and entropy to order G^2 and find that the area law of black holes should be modified. We think of Hawking radiation as tunneling and find that at certain frequency ω the radiation spectrum of black holes can be pure blackbody spectrum. Therefore, it is possible to break down information conservation. In order to ensure information conservation at any energy scales, we suggest that black holes cannot release all information they have. We briefly discuss the bound …
We study the hamiltonian and constraints of spherically symmetric dilaton gravity model. We find the ADM mass of the solution representing the Schwarzchild black hole in thermal equilibrium with the Hawking radiation.
In this paper we explore the effect of the generalized uncertainty principle and modified dispersion relation to compute Hawking radiation from a rotating acoustic black hole in the tunneling formalism by using the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) approximation applied to the Hamilton-Jacobi method. The starting point is to consider the planar acoustic black hole metric found in a Lorentz-violating Abelian Higgs model. In our analyzes we investigate quantum corrections for the Hawking temperature and entropy. A logarithmic correction and an extra term that depends on a conserved charge were obt…
It is shown that quantum-induced (inflationary) brane Universe occurs in the bulk 5d AdS black hole in accordance with AdS/CFT correspondence. Brane stress tensor is induced by quantum effects of dual CFT and brane crosses the horizon of AdS black hole. Quantum-corrected Hubble constant, Hawking temperature and entropy are found on the brane (and at the horizon). The similarity between CFT entropy at the horizon and FRW equations is extended on the quantum level. This suggests the way to understand cosmological entropy bounds in quantum gravity.
In this paper, we investigate the tunneling process of charged massive bosons $W^{\pm }$ (spin-1 particles) from noncommutative charged black holes such as charged RN black holes and charged BTZ black holes. By applying the WKB approximation and by using the Hamilton-Jacobi equation we derive the tunneling rate and the corresponding Hawking temperature for those black holes configuration. Furthermore, we show the quantum gravity effects using the GUP on the Hawking temperature for the noncommutative RN black holes. The tunneling rate shows that the radiation deviates from pure thermality and i…
Relations between the tunneling rate and the unified first law of thermodynamics at the apparent horizon of the FRW universe are investigated. The tunneling rate arises as a consequence of the unified first law of thermodynamics in such a dynamical system. The analysis shows obviously how the tunneling is intimately connected with the unified first law of thermodynamics through the principle of conservation of energy.

We present exact analytical black hole solutions with conformal anomaly in AdS space and discuss the thermodynamical properties of these black hole solutions. These black holes can have a positive, zero and negative constant curvature horizon, respectively. For the black hole with a positive constant curvature horizon, there exists a minimal horizon determined by the coefficient of the trace anomaly, the black hole with a smaller horizon is thermodynamically unstable, while it is stable for the case with a larger horizon. The Hawking-Page transition happens in this case. For the black hole wit…
We complete the analysis started in [arXiv:0804.0198] of the Hawking radiation calculated by means of anomaly techniques. We concentrate on a static radially symmetric BH, reduced to two dimensions. We compare the two methods used to derive the integrated Hawking radiation, based on the trace and diffeomorphism anomaly, respectively, and show that they can be reduced to the same basic elements. We then concentrate on higher moments of the Hawking radiation and on higher spin currents, and show that, similarly to trace anomalies, also diffeomorphism anomalies are absent from the conservation la…
The classical first law of thermodynamics for a Kerr-Newman black hole (KNBH) is generalized to a law in quantum form on the event horizon. Then four quantum conservation laws on the KNBH equilibrium radiation process are derived. The Bekenstein-Hawking relation ${\cal{S}}={\cal{A}}/4$ is exactly established. It can be inferred that the classical entropy of black hole arises from the quantum entropy of field quanta or quasi-particles inside the hole.
The effective one-loop action for general dilaton theories with arbitrary dilaton-dependent measure and nonminimal coupling to scalar matter is computed. As an application we determine the Hawking flux to infinity from black holes in d-dimensions. We resolve the recently resurrected problem of an apparent negative flux for nonminimally coupled scalars: For any $D \geq 4$ Black Hole the complete flux turns out to be precisely the one of minimal coupling. This result is obtained from a Christensen-Fulling type argument involving the (non-)conservation of energy-momentum. It is compared with appr…
In this paper, we study the thermodynamic quantities of Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe by using the tunneling formalism beyond semiclassical approximation developed by \emph{Banerjee} and \emph{Majhi}\cite{beyond0}. For this we first calculate the corrected Hawking-like temperature on apparent horizon by considering both scalar particle and fermion tunneling. With this corrected Hawking-like temperature, the explicit expressions of the corrected entropy of apparent horizon for various gravity theories including Einstein gravity, Gauss-Bonnet gravity, Lovelock gravity, $f(R)$ gravity…
For Hawking radiation, treated as a tunneling process, the no-hair theorem of black hole together with the law of energy conservation is utilized to postulate that the tunneling rate only depends on the external qualities (e.g., the mass for the Schwarzschild black hole) and the energy of the radiated particle. This postulate is justified by the WKB approximation for calculating the tunneling probability. Based on this postulate, a general formula for the tunneling probability is derived without referring to the concrete form of black hole metric. This formula implies an intrinsic correlation …
The tunneling formalism in the Hamilton-Jacobi approach is adopted to study Hawking radiation of massless Dirac particles from spherically symmetric black hole spacetimes incorporating the effects of the generalized uncertainty principle. The Hawking temperature is found to contain corrections from the generalized uncertainty principle. Further, we show from this result that the ratio of the GUP corrected energy of the particle to the GUP corrected Hawking temperature is equal to the ratio of the corresponding uncorrected quantities. This result is then exploited to compute the Hawking tempera…
In this letter, we use the Parikh-Wilczek tunneling model of Hawking radiation to illustrate that a reformulation of Verlinde's entropic gravity is needed to derive the Newton's law for a temperature-varying screen, demanded by the conservation of energy. Furthermore, the entropy stored in the holographic screen is shown to be additive and its temperature dependence can be obtained.
We have studied the Hawking radiation corresponding to the NS5 and Little String Theory (LST) black hole models using two semi-classical methods: the complex path method and a gravitational anomaly. After summarizing some known concepts about the thermodynamics of these theories, we have computed the emission rates for the two black hole models. The temperature calculated from, e.g. the well-known surface gravity expression, is shown to be identical to that obtained from both the computation of the gravitational anomaly and the complex path method. Moreover, the two semi-classical methods show…
Hawking has proposed non-unitary rules for computing the probabilistic outcome of black hole formation. It is shown that the usual interpretation of these rules violates the superposition principle and energy conservation. Refinements of Hawking's rules are found which restore both the superposition principle and energy conservation, but leave completely unaltered Hawking's prediction of a thermal emission spectrum prior to the endpoint of black hole evaporation. These new rules violate clustering. They further imply the existence of superselection sectors, within each of which clustering is r…
In this paper we focus on the Hamilton-Jacobi method to determine the entropy of a self-dual black hole by using linear and quadratic GUPs(generalized uncertainty principles). We have obtained the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of self-dual black holes and its quantum corrections that are logarithm and also of several other types.
We present a short and direct derivation of Hawking radiation as a tunneling process, based on particles in a dynamical geometry. The imaginary part of the action for the classically forbidden process is related to the Boltzmann factor for emission at the Hawking temperature. Because the derivation respects conservation laws, the exact spectrum is not precisely thermal. We compare and contrast the problem of spontaneous emission of charged particles from a charged conductor.
We consider charged black holes within dilaton gravity with exponential-linear dependence of action coefficients on dilaton and minimal coupling to quantum scalar fields. This includes, in particular, CGHS and RST black holes in the uncharged limit. For non-extremal configuration quantum correction to the total mass, Hawking temperature, electric potential and metric are found explicitly and shown to obey the first generalized law. We also demonstrate that quantum-corrected extremal black holes in these theories do exist and correspond to the classically forbidden region of parameters in the s…
We study the Hawking radiation as charged particles' tunneling across the horizons of the Hot-NUT-Kerr-Newman-Kasuya spacetime by considering the spacetime background as dynamical and incorporating the self-gravitation effect of the emitted particles when the energy conservation, the angular momentum conservation, and the electric charge conservation are taken into account. Our result shows that the tunneling rate is related to the change of Bekenstein-Hawking entropy and the radiant spectrum is not pure thermal, but is consistent with an underlying unitary theory. The emission process is a re…
We consider the BTZ black hole surrounded by the conformal scalar field. Within general relativity, the resonant \emph{quasinormal} (QN) modes dominate in the response of a black hole to external perturbations. At the same time, the metric of an evaporating black hole is affected by the Hawking radiation. We estimate the shift in the quasinormal spectrum of the BTZ black hole stipulated by the back reaction of the Hawking radiation. For the case of the 2+1 dimensional black hole the corrected (by $\sim \hbar$) metric is an \emph{exact} solution [C.Martines, J.Zanelli (1997)]. In addition, in t…
Various studies have explored the possibility of explaining the Bekenstein-Hawking (black hole) entropy by way of some suitable state-counting procedure. Notably, many of these treatments have used the well-known Cardy formula as an intermediate step. Our current interest is a recent calculation in which Carlip has deduced the leading-order quantum correction to the (otherwise) classical Cardy formula. In this paper, we apply Carlip's formulation to the case of a generic model of two-dimensional gravity with coupling to a dilaton field. We find that the corrected Cardy entropy includes the ant…
Here we study the effects of the Generalized Uncertainty Principle in the tunneling formalism for Hawking radiation to evaluate the quantum-corrected Hawking temperature and entropy for a Schwarzschild black hole. We compare our results with the existing results given by other candidate theories of quantum gravity. In the entropy-area relation we found some new correction terms and in the leading order we found a term which varies as $\sim \sqrt{Area}$. We also get the well known logarithmic correction in the sub-leading order. We discuss the significance of this new quantum corrected leading …
We study the AdS rotating black hole solution for the Bergshoeff-Hohm-Townsend (BHT) massive gravity in three dimensions. The field equations of the asymptotically AdS black hole of the static metric can be expressed as the first law of thermodynamics, i.e. $dE=TdS-PdV$. The corrected Hawking-like temperature and entropy of asymptotically AdS rotating black hole are calculated using the Cardy formula and the tunneling method. Comparison of these methods will help identify the unknown leading correction parameter $β_1$ in the tunneling method.
We present a derivation of Hawking radiation through tunneling mechanism for a general class of asymptotically flat, spherically symmetric spacetimes. The tunneling rate $Γ\sim \exp{(ΔS)}$ arises as a consequence of the first law of thermodynamics, TdS=dE + PdV. Therefore, this approach demonstrates how tunneling is intimately connected with the first law of thermodynamics through the principle of conservation of energy. The analysis is also generally applicable to any reasonable theory of gravity so long as the first law of thermodynamics for horizons holds in the form, TdS=dE + PdV.
We show that the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy associated with any black hole undergoes logarithmic corrections when small thermodynamic fluctuations around equilibrium are taken into account. Thus, the corrected expression for black hole entropy is given by $S= A/4 - k \ln(A)$, where $A$ is the horizon area and $k$ is a constant which depends on the specific black hole. We apply our result to BTZ black hole, for which $k=3/2$, as found earlier, as well as to anti-de Sitter-Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordstrom black hole in arbitrary spacetime dimensions. Finally, we examine the role of conformal…
When two objects have gravitational interaction between them, they are no longer independent of each other. In fact, there exists gravitational correlation between these two objects. Inspired by E. Verlinde's paper, we first calculate the entropy change of a system when gravity does positive work on this system. Based on the concept of gravitational correlation entropy, we prove that the entropy of a Schwarzschild black hole originates from the gravitational correlations between the interior matters of the black hole. By analyzing the gravitational correlation entropies in the process of Hawki…
Static oscillating bounces in Schwarzschild de Sitter spacetime are investigated. The oscillating bounce with many oscillations gives a super-thick bubble wall, for which the total vacuum energy increases while the mass of the black hole decreases due to the conservation of Arnowitt-Deser-Misner (ADM) mass. We show that the transition rate of such an "up-tunneling" consuming the seed black hole is higher than that of the Hawking-Moss transition. The correspondence of analyses in the static and global coordinates in the Euclidean de Sitter space is also investigated.
This paper is devoted to study charged fermion particles tunneling through the horizon of Kerr-Newman-AdS black hole surrounded by quintessence by using Hamilton-Jacobi ansatz. In our analysis, we investigate Hawking temperature as well as quantum corrected Hawking temperature on account of generalized uncertainty principle. Moreover, we discuss the effects of correction parameter $β$ on the corrected Hawking temperature $T_{e-H}$, graphically. We conclude that the temperature $T_{e-H}$ vanishes when $β=100$, whereas for $β<100$ and $β>100$, the temperature turns out to be positive and negativ…
The Rényi and Tsallis entropies are discussed as possible alternatives to the Bekenstein-Hawking area-law entropy. It is pointed out how replacing the entropy notion, but not the Hawking temperature and the thermodynamical energy may render the whole black hole thermodynamics inconsistent. The possibility to relate the Rényi and Tsallis entropies with the quantum gravity corrected Bekenstein-Hawking entropy is discussed.
The absorption rate of low-energy, or soft, electromagnetic radiation by spherically symmetric black holes in arbitrary dimensions is shown to be fixed by conservation of energy and large gauge transformations. We interpret this result as the explicit realization of the Hawking-Perry-Strominger Ward identity for large gauge transformations in the background of a non-evaporating black hole. Along the way we rederive and extend previous analytic results regarding the absorption rate for the minimal scalar and the photon.
We compute the corrections, using the tunneling formalisim based on a quantum WKB approach, to the Hawking temperature and Bekenstein-Hawking entropy for the Schwarzschild black hole. The results are related to the trace anomaly and are shown to be equivalent to findings inferred from Hawking's original calculation based on path integrals using zeta function regularization. Finally, exploiting the corrected temperature and periodicity arguments we also find the modification to the original Schwarzschild metric which captures the effect of quantum corrections.
In this paper we consider the generalized uncertainty principle in the tunneling formalism via Hamilton-Jacobi method to determine the quantum-corrected Hawking temperature and entropy for 2+1-dimensional noncommutative acoustic black holes. In our results we obtain an area entropy, a correction logarithmic in leading order, a correction term in subleading order proportional to the radiation temperature associated with the noncommutative acoustic black holes and an extra term that depends on a conserved charge. Thus, as in the gravitational case, there is no need to introduce the ultraviolet c…
The massive particles tunneling method has been used to investigate the Hawking non-thermal and purely thermal radiations of Schwarzschild Anti-de Sitter (SAdS) black hole. Considering the spacetime background to be dynamical, incorporate the self-gravitation effect of the emitted particles the imaginary part of the action has been derived from Hamilton-Jacobi equation. Using the conservation laws of energy and angular momentum we have showed that the non-thermal and purely thermal tunneling rates are related to the change of Bekenstein-Hawking entropy and the derived emission spectrum deviate…
Path integral quantization of dilaton gravity in two dimensions is applied to the CGHS model to the first nontrivial order in matter loops. Our approach is background independent as geometry is integrated out exactly. The result is an effective shift of the Killing norm: the apparent horizon becomes smaller. The Hawking temperature which is constant to leading order receives a quantum correction. As a consequence, the specific heat becomes positive and proportional to the square of the black hole mass.
In this paper, by introducing a Lorentz-invariance-violation (LIV) class of dispersion relations (DR) suppressed by the second power $(E/E_{QG})^2$, we have investigated the effect of LIV on the Hawking radiation of the charged Dirac particle via tunneling from a Reissner-Nordström(RN) black hole. We first find the effect of LIV speeds up the black hole evaporation, leaving the induced Hawking temperature very sensitive to the changes in the energy of the radiation particle, but at the same energy level, insensitive to the changes in the charge of the radiation particle. This provides a phenom…
The correction of Hawking temperature of Schwarzschild-de Sitter (SdS) black hole is investigated using the generalized Klein-Gordon equation and the generalized Dirac equation by taking the quantum gravity effects into account. We derive the corrected Hawking temperatures for scalar particles and fermions crossing the event horizon. The quantum gravity effects prevent the rise of temperature in the SdS black hole. Besides correction of Hawking temperature, the Hawking radiation of SdS black hole is also investigated using massive particles tunneling method. By considering self gravitation eff…
Based on a previously found general class of quantum improved exact solutions composed of non-interacting (dust) particles, we model the gravitational collapse of stars. As the modeled star collapses a closed apparent 3-horizon is generated due to the consideration of quantum effects. The effect of the subsequent emission of Hawking radiation related to this horizon is taken into consideration. Our computations lead us to argue that a total evaporation could be reached. The inferred global picture of the spacetime corresponding to gravitational collapse is devoid of both event horizons and she…
