We construct a norm compatible system of Galois cohomology classes in the cyclotomic extension of the field of rationnals giving rise (conjecturally) to the degree four p-adic L-function of the symplectic group GSp(4). These classes are defined as cup products of torsion sections of the elliptic polylogarithm pro-sheaf. We rely on the norm compatibility of the elliptic polylogarithm and on some weight computations in the cohomology of Siegel threefolds.
We investigate level $p$ Eisenstein congruences for GSp$_4$, generalisations of level $1$ congruences predicted by Harder. By studying the associated Galois and automorphic representations we see conditions that guarantee the existence of a paramodular form satisfying the congruence. This provides theoretical justification for computational evidence found in the author's previous paper.
Pullbacks of Eisenstein series from GU(3,3) and critical L-values for GSp(4) X GL(2)
We set up a general framework to compute the exact multiplicity with which certain automorphic representations appear in both the cuspidal and Eisenstein cohomology of locally symmetric spaces. We apply this machinery to Eisenstein series on $GSp_4$ and split $G_2$. In the case of $G_2$, we will also obtain new information about the archimedean components of certain CAP representations using Arthur's conjectures.
We obtain an conditional result for the regularized fourth moment of some newform Eisenstein series, using a recipe by Conrey, et al. We also discuss the fourth moment of truncated newform Eisenstein series.
We construct global cohomology classes in the middle degree cohomology of the Shimura variety of the symplectic group $GSp_6$ compatible when one varies the level at $p$. These classes are expected constituents of an Euler system for the Galois representations appearing in these cohomology groups. As an application, we show how these classes provide elements in the Iwasawa cohomology of these representations and, by applying Perrin-Riou's machinery, $p$-adic L-functions associated to them.
We prove a sup norm bound on the real-analytic Eisenstein series, of the form $E(z, 1/2 + iT) \ll T^{3/8 + \varepsilon}$, uniformly for $z$ in a fixed compact subset of $\mathbb{H}$.
Using Robert Spira's \cite{D} definitions of complex Mersenne numbers and the complex sum-of-divisors function, we characterize $(ω+2)$-norm-perfect and $(ω+2)$-perfect numbers that are divisble by $ω+2$ and prove the nonexistence of $2$-norm-perfect numbers that are divisible by $2$ in the Eisenstein integers.
We prove an asymptotic formula expressing the regularized fourth moment of all newform Eisenstein series of primitive nebentypus as a mean value of $L$-functions. This is an analogue of the recent work of Djanković and Khan in the spectral aspect.
In this paper we consider the sup-norm problem in the context of analytic Eisenstein series for $GL(2)$ over number fields. We prove a hybrid bound which is sharper than the corresponding bound for Maaß forms. Our results generalise those of Huang and Xu where the case of Eisenstein series of square-free levels over the base field $\mathbb{Q}$ had been considered.
In this paper we prove a hybrid subconvexity bound for class group $L$-functions associated to a quadratic extension $K/\mathbb{Q}$ (real or imaginary). Our proof relies on relating the class group $L$-functions to Eisenstein series evaluated at Heegner points using formulas due to Hecke. The main technical contribution is the following uniform sup norm bound for Eisenstein series $E(z,1/2+it)\ll_\varepsilon y^{1/2} (|t|+1)^{1/3+\varepsilon}, y\gg 1$, extending work of Blomer and Titchmarsh. Finally, we propose a uniform version of the sup norm conjecture for Eisenstein series.
The paper deals with establishing bounds for Eisenstein series on congruence quotients of the upper half plane, with control of both the spectral parameter and the level. The key observation in this work is that we exploit better the structure of the amplifier by just supporting on primes for the Eisenstein series, which can use both the analytic method as Young did to get a lower bound for the amplifier and the geometric method as Harcos--Templier did to obtain a more efficient treatment for the counting problem.
We generalise the sum-of-divisors-function $σ$ and evenness to the rings of integers of certain algebraic number fields. In particular, we present necessary and sufficient conditions for even Eisenstein integers to be (norm-)perfect based on the work of McDaniel [McD] on Gaussian integers. Furthermore, some results concerning odd norm-perfect Eisenstein integers and the rings of integers of other cyclotomic fields are proven.
Subconvexity bounds are proved for general Epstein zeta functions of k-ary quadratic forms. This is related to sup-norm bounds for Eisenstein series on GL(k), and the exact sup-norm exponent is determined to be (k-2)/8 for k >= 2. In particular, if $k$ is odd, this exponent is not in Z/4, which shows that Sarnak's purity conjecture does not hold for Eisenstein series.
We study two closely related problems stemming from the random wave conjecture for Maass forms. The first problem is bounding the $L^4$-norm of a Maass form in the large eigenvalue limit; we complete the work of Spinu to show that the $L^4$-norm of an Eisenstein series $E(z,1/2+it_g)$ restricted to compact sets is bounded by $\sqrt{\log t_g}$. The second problem is quantum unique ergodicity in shrinking sets; we show that by averaging over the centre of hyperbolic balls in $Γ\backslash \mathbb{H}$, quantum unique ergodicity holds for almost every shrinking ball whose radius is larger than the …
Let $X$ be a smooth, compact, projective Kähler variety and $D$ be a divisor of a holomorphic form $F$, and assume that $D$ is smooth up to codimension two. Let $ω$ be a Kähler form on $X$ and $K_{X}$ the corresponding heat kernel which is associated to the Laplacian that acts on the space of smooth functions on $X$. Using various integral transforms of $K_{X}$, we will construct a meromorphic function in a complex variable $s$ whose special value at $s=0$ is the log-norm of $F$ with respect to $μ$. In the case when $X$ is the quotient of a symmetric space, then the function we construct is a …
We give a new proof of the norm relations for the Asai-Flach Euler system built by Lei-Loeffler-Zerbes. More precisely, we redefine Asai-Flach classes in the language used by Loeffler-Skinner-Zerbes for Lemma-Eisenstein classes and prove both the vertical and the tame norm relations using local zeta integrals. These Euler system norm relations for the Asai representation attached to a Hilbert modular form over a quadratic real field $F$ have been already proved by Lei-Loeffler-Zerbes for primes which are inert in $F$ and for split primes satisfying some assumption; with this technique we are a…
This paper is an exposition of the completion of a modular group with respect to its inclusion into SL_2(Q) and the connection with the theory of modular forms and variations of mixed Hodge structure over modular curves. Among the goals of this paper are to give a context to Manin's iterated Shimura integrals (iterated integrals of modular forms) and to study relations in the "maximal Eisenstein quotient" of the completion of SL_2(Z). In particular, we use a computation of Terasoma to prove that Pollack's quadratic relations in the derivation Lie algebra of a rank two free Lie algebra lift to …
We present a novel axiomatic framework for establishing horizontal norm relations in Euler systems that are built from pushforwards of classes in the motivic cohomology of Shimura varieties. This framework is uniformly applicable to the Euler systems of both algebraic cycles and Eisenstein classes. It also applies to non-spherical pairs of groups that fail to satisfy a local multiplicity one hypothesis, and thus lie beyond the reach of existing methods. A key application of this work is the construction of an Euler system for the spinor Galois representations arising in the cohomology of Siege…
