We study geometric realization questions of curvature in the affine, Riemannian, almost Hermitian, almost para Hermitian, almost hyper Hermitian, almost hyper para Hermitian, Hermitian, and para Hermitian settings. We also express questions in Ivanov-Petrova geometry, Osserman geometry, and curvature homogeneity in terms of geometric realizations.
The projective curvature tensor $P$ is invariant under a geodesic preserving transformation on a semi-Riemannian manifold. It is well known that $P$ is not a generalized curvature tensor and hence it possesses different geometric properties than other generalized curvature tensors. The main object of the present paper is to study some semisymmetric type and pseudosymmetric type curvature restricted geometric structures due to projective curvature tensor. The reduced pseudosymmetric type structures for various Walker type conditions are deduced and the existence of Venzi space is ensured. It is…
We obtain an Euclidean volume growth results for complete Riemannian manifolds satisfying a Euclidean Sobolev inequality and a spectral type condition on the Ricci curvature. We also obtain eigenvalue estimates, heat kernel estimates, Betti number estimates for closed manifolds whose Ricci curvature is controlled in the Kato class.
In classical differential geometry, a central question has been whether abstract surfaces with given geometric features can be realized as surfaces in Euclidean space. Inspired by the rich theory of embedded triply periodic minimal surfaces, we seek examples of triply periodic polyhedral surfaces that have an identifiable conformal structure. In particular, we are interested in explicit cone metrics on compact Riemann surfaces that have a realization as the quotient of a triply periodic polyhedral surface. This is important as Riemann surfaces where one has equivalent descriptions are rare. We…
We obtain a Bonnet-Myers theorem under a spectral condition: a closed Riemannian manifold $(M^n,g)$ for which the lowest eigenvalue of the Ricci tensor $ρ$ is such that the Schrödinger operator $(n-2)Δ+ ρ$ is positive has finite fundamental group. As a continuation of our earlier results, we obtain isoperimetric inequalities from a Kato condition on the Ricci curvature. Furthermore, we obtain the Kato condition for the Ricci curvature under purely geometric assumptions.
We introduce two invariants called the secondary cuspidal curvature and the bias on $5/2$-cuspidal edges, and investigate their basic properties. While the secondary cuspidal curvature is an analog of the cuspidal curvature of (ordinary) cuspidal edges, there are no invariants corresponding to the bias. We prove that the product (called the secondary product curvature) of the secondary cuspidal curvature and the limiting normal curvature is an intrinsic invariant. Using this intrinsity, we show that any real analytic $5/2$-cuspidal edges with non-vanishing limiting normal curvature admits non-…
We show that the theory of geometric structures proposed in the recent book "An Alternative Approach to Lie Groups and Geometric Structures" can be developed independently of connections.

We prove rigidity theorems for ancient solutions of geometric flows of immersed submanifolds. Specifically, we find pinching conditions on the second fundamental form that characterize the shrinking sphere among compact ancient solutions for the mean curvature flow in codimension greater than one, and for some nonlinear curvature flows of hypersurfaces.
In this article, we will use the harmonic mean curvature flow to prove a new class of Alexandrov-Fenchel type inequalities for strictly convex hypersurfaces in hyperbolic space in terms of total curvature, which is the integral of Gaussian curvature on the hypersurface. We will also use the harmonic mean curvature flow to prove a new class of geometric inequalities for horospherically convex hypersurfaces in hyperbolic space. Using these new Alexandrov-Fenchel type inequalities and the inverse mean curvature flow, we obtain an Alexandrov-Fenchel inequality for strictly convex hypersurfaces in …
For undirected graphs, the Ricci curvature introduced by Lin-Lu-Yau has been widely studied from various perspectives, especially geometric analysis. In the present paper, we discuss generalization problem of their Ricci curvature for directed graphs. We introduce a new generalization by using the mean transition probability kernel which appears in the formulation of the Chung Laplacian. We conclude several geometric and spectral properties of directed graphs under a lower Ricci curvature bound extending previous results in the undirected case.
In this paper, we analyzed the physical meaning of scalar curvatures for a generalized Riemannian space. It is developed the Madsen's formulae for pressures and energy-densities with respect to the corresponding energy-momentum tensors. After that, the energy-momentum tensors, pressures, energy-densities and state-parameters are analyzed with respect to different concepts of generalized Riemannian spaces. At the end of this paper, linearities of the energy-momentum tensor, pressure, energy-density and the state-parameter are examined.
In this paper we discuss the highest weight $\frak k_r$-finite representations of the pair $(\frak g_r,\frak k_r)$ consisting of $\frak g_r$, a real form of a complex basic Lie superalgebra of classical type $\frak g$ (${\frak g}\neq A(n,n)$), and the maximal compact subalgebra $\frak k_r$ of $\frak g_{r,0}$, together with their geometric global realizations. These representations occur, as in the ordinary setting, in the superspaces of sections of holomorphic super vector bundles on the associated Hermitian superspaces $G_r/K_r$.
We provide a new proof of the following inequality: the maximum curvature $k_\mathrm{max}$ and the enclosed area $A$ of a smooth Jordan curve satisfy $k_\mathrm{max}\ge \sqrt{π/A}$. The feature of our proof is the use of the curve shortening flow.
In this paper, we establish compactness for various geometric curvature energies including integral Menger curvature, and tangent-point repulsive potentials, defined a priori on the class of compact, embedded $m$-dimensional Lipschitz submanifolds in ${\mathbb{R}}^n$. It turns out that due to a smoothing effect any sequence of submanifolds with uniformly bounded energy contains a subsequence converging in $C^1$ to a limit submanifold. This result has two applications. The first one is an isotopy finiteness theorem: there are only finitely many isotopy types of such submanifolds below a given e…
