In this thesis, we study the three-loop QCD form factors. After an introduction and a discussion of the physics motivation, we generate the quark form factor using Qgraf. We then show how to bring the Feynman integrals into a unique form by using various trivial symmetries such as shifts in loop momenta. We then try (and fail) to reduce it to master integrals using the Laporta algorithm. After a discussion of our implementation of the Laporta algorithm (called "Solve") we perform an extensive classification of all the integrals into irreducible, reducible and loop-by-loop integrable topologies. We devise methods to deal with each of these cases. We show that our reduction code fails to reduce only a small set of 11 topologies. We finally give some partial results, and in the appendix we collect some already known master integrals.
We compute the on-shell wave function renormalization constant to four-loop order in QCD and present numerical results for all coefficients of the SU$(N_c)$ colour factors. We extract the four-loop HQET anomalous dimension of the heavy quark field and also discuss the application of our result to QED.
We report on the calculation of the two-loop penguin amplitudes in non-leptonic B decays in the framework of QCD factorization. We discuss the computation of this genuine two-loop, two-scale problem and provide details on the matching from QCD onto SCET, the evaluation of the master integrals, and the convolution of the hard scattering kernels with the light-cone distribution amplitude of the light meson. Preliminary results on the size of the two-loop correction are given.
We present the mixed QCD-EW two-loop virtual amplitudes for the neutral current Drell-Yan production, one of the bottlenecks for the complete calculation of the NNLO mixed QCD-EW corrections. We present the computational details and the first steps towards their automation. We describe the evaluation of all the relevant two-loop Feynman integrals using analytical and semi-analytical methods, the subtraction of the universal infrared singularities and present the numerical evaluation of the finite remainder.
We review the current status of perturbative corrections in QCD at four loops for scattering processes with space- and time-like kinematics at colliders, with specific focus on deep-inelastic scattering and electron-positron annihilation. The calculations build on the parametric reduction of loop and phase space integrals up to four-loop order using computer algebra programs such as FORM, designed for large scale computations.
We compute the contribution of three-loop mixed QCD-electroweak corrections ($α_S^2α^2$) to the $gg \to H$ scattering amplitude. We employ the method of differential equations to compute the relevant integrals and express them in terms of Goncharov polylogarithms.
We perform a dedicated study of the $q \bar{q}$-initiated two-loop electroweak-QCD Drell-Yan scattering amplitude in dimensional regularization schemes for vanishing light quark and lepton masses. For the relative order $α$ and $α_s$ one-loop Standard Model corrections, details of our comparison to the original literature are given. The infrared pole terms of the mixed two-loop amplitude are governed by a known generalization of the dipole formula and we show explicitly that exactly the same two-loop polarized hard scattering functions are obtained in both the standard 't Hooft-Veltman-Breiten…
