Approximation of real analytic functions by Nash functions is a classical topic in real geometry. In this paper, we focus on the Nash approximation of an analytic desingularization of a Nash function germ obtained by a sequence of blowings-up along smooth analytic centers. We apply the result to prove that Nash function germs that are analytically equivalent after analytic desingularizations are Nash equivalent after Nash desingularizations. Results are based on a precise Euclidean description of a sequence of blowings-up combined with Néron Desingularization.
We address the following question, raised by T. Fukui. Is the corank an invariant of the blow-analytic equivalence between real analytic function germs? We give a partial positive answer in the particular case of the blow-Nash equivalence. The proof is based on the computation of some virtual Poincare polynomials and zeta functions associated to a Nash function germ.
We propose a refinement of the notion of blow-Nash equivalence between Nash function germs, which is an analog in the Nash setting of the blow-analytic equivalence defined by T.-C. Kuo. The new definition is more natural and geometric. Moreover, this equivalence relation still does not admit moduli for a Nash family of isolated singularities. Some previous invariants are no longer invariants for this new relation, however, thanks to a Denef & Loeser formula coming from motivic integration in a Nash setting, we managed to derive new invariants for this equivalence relation.
To a given analytic function germ $f:(\mathbb{R}^d,0) \to (\mathbb{R},0)$, we associate zeta functions $Z_{f,+}$, $Z_{f,-} \in \mathbb{Z} [[T]]$, defined analogously to the motivic zeta functions of Denef and Loeser. We show that our zeta functions are rational and that they are invariants of the blow-analytic equivalence in the sense of Kuo. Then we use them together with the Fukui invariant to classify the blow-analytic equivalence classes of Brieskorn polynomials of two variables. Except special series of singularities our method classifies as well the blow-analytic equivalence classes of B…
Blow-analytic equivalence is a notion for real analytic function germs, introduced by Tzee-Char Kuo in order to develop real analytic equisingularity theory. In this paper we give complete characterisations of blow-analytic equivalence in the two dimensional case: in terms of the real tree model for the arrangement of real parts of Newton-Puiseux roots and their Puiseux pairs, and in terms of minimal resolutions. These characterisations show that in the two dimensional case the blow-analytic equivalence is a natural analogue of topological equivalence of complex analytic function germs. Moreov…
We define invariants of the blow-Nash equivalence of real analytic function germs, in a similar way that the motivic zeta functions of Denef & Loeser. As a key ingredient, we extend the virtual Betti numbers, which were known for real algebraic sets, as a generalized Euler characteristics for projective constructible arc-symmetrics sets. Actually we prove more: the virtual Betti numbers are not only algebraic invariant, but also Nash-invariant of arc-symmetric sets. Our zeta functions enable to sketch the blow-Nash equivalence classes of Brieskorn polynomials of two variables.
We prove the finiteness of the number of blow-analytic equivalence classes of embedded plane curve germs for any fixed number of branches and for any fixed value of $μ'$ ---a combinatorial invariant coming from the dual graphs of good resolutions of embedded plane curve singularities. In order to do so, we develop the concept of standard form of a dual graph. We show that, fixed $μ'$ in $\mathbb{N}$, there are only a finite number of standard forms, and to each one of them correspond a finite number of blow-analytic equivalence classes. In the tribranched case, we are able to give an explicit …
For two variable real analytic function germs we compare the blow-analytic equivalence in the sense of Kuo to the other natural equivalence relations. Our main theorem states that $C^1$ equivalent germs are blow-analytically equivalent. This gives a negative answer to a conjecture of Kuo. In the proof we show that the Puiseux pairs of real Newton-Puiseux roots are preserved by the $C^1$ equivalence of function germs. The proof is achieved, being based on a combinatorial characterisation of blow-analytic equivalence in terms of the real tree model. We also give several examples of bi-Lipschitz …
We make progress towards the classification of simple Nash germs invariant under the involution changing the sign of the first coordinate, with respect to equivariant blow-Nash equivalence, which is an equivariant Nash version of blow-analytic equivalence, taking advantage of invariants for this relation, the equivariant zeta functions.
To any Nash germ invariant under right composition with a linear action of a finite group, we associate its equivariant zeta functions, inspired from motivic zeta functions, using the equivariant virtual Poincaré series as a motivic measure. We show Denef-Loeser formulae for the equivariant zeta functions and prove that they are invariants for equivariant blow-Nash equivalence via equivariant blow-Nash isomorphisms. Equivariant blow-Nash equivalence between invariant Nash germs is defined as a generalization involving equivariant data of the blow-Nash equivalence.
This article is devoted to studying multiplicity and regularity of real analytic sets. We present an equivalence for real analytic sets, named blow-spherical equivalence, which generalizes differential equivalence and subanalytic bi-Lipschitz equivalence and, with this approach, we obtain several applications on analytic sets. On regularity, we show that blow-spherical regularity of real analytic implies $C^1$ smoothness only in the case of real analytic curves. On multiplicity, we present a generalization for Gau-Lipman's Theorem about differential invariance of the multiplicity in the comple…
This paper is devoted to study multiplicity and regularity as well as to present some classifications of complex analytic sets. We present an equivalence for complex analytical sets, namely blow-spherical equivalence and we receive several applications with this new approach. For example, we reduce to homogeneous complex algebraic sets a version of Zariski's multiplicity conjecture in the case of blow-spherical homeomorphism, we give some partial answers to the Zariski's multiplicity conjecture, we show that a blow-spherical regular complex analytic set is smooth and we give a complete classif…
We address the question of the classification under blow-Nash equivalence of simple Nash function germs. We state that this classification coincides with the real analytic classification. We prove moreover that a simple germ can not be blow-Nash equivalent to a nonsimple one. The method is based on the computation of relevant coefficients of the real zeta functions associated to a Nash germ via motivic integration.
It is known that the weights of a complex weighted homogeneous polynomial $f$ with isolated singularity are analytic invariants of $(\mathbb C^d,f^{-1}(0))$. When $d=2,3$ this result holds by assuming merely the topological type instead of the analytic one. G. Fichou and T. Fukui recently proved the following real counterpart: the blow-Nash type of a real singular non-degenerate convenient weighted homogeneous polynomial in three variables determines its weights. The aim of this paper is to generalize the above-cited result with no condition on the number of variables. We work with a character…
It has been recently proved that the arc-analytic type of a singular Brieskorn polynomial determines its exponents. This last result may be seen as a real analogue of a theorem by E. Yoshinaga and M. Suzuki concerning the topological type of complex Brieskorn polynomials. In the real setting it is natural to investigate further by asking how the signs of the coefficients of a Brieskorn polynomial change its arc-analytic type. The aim of the present paper is to answer this question by giving a complete classification of Brieskorn polynomials up to the arc-analytic equivalence. The proof relies …
We call a local homeomorphism $f: (R^n,0)\to(R^n,0)$ blow-analytic if it becomes real analytic after composing with a finite number blowings-up with smooth nowhere dense centers. If the graph of $f$ is semi-algebraic then, by a theorem of Bierstone and Milman, $f$ is blow-analytic if and only if it is arc-analytic: the image by $f$ of a parametrized real analytic arc is again a real analytic arc. For a semialgebraic homeomorphism $f$ we show that if $f$ is blow-analytic and the inverse of $f$ is Lipschitz, then $f$ is Lipschitz and the inverse of $f$ is blow-analytic. The proof is by a motivic…
We construct a finite dimensional Kaehler manifold with a holomorphic, symplectic circle action whose symplectic reduced spaces may be identified with the tau-vortex moduli spaces (or tau-stable pairs). The Morse theory of the circle action induces natural birational maps between the reduced spaces for different values of tau which in the case of rank two bundles can be canonically resolved in a sequence of blow-ups and blow-downs.
By Hironaka Desingularization Theorem, any real analytic function has only normal crossing singularities after a suitable modification. We focus on the analytic equivalence of such functions with only normal crossing singularities. We prove that for such functions $C^{\infty}$ right equivalence implies analytic equivalence. We prove moreover that the cardinality of the set of equivalence classes is zero or countable.
For a complex analytic function $f$, the exceptional divisor of the jacobian blow-up is of great importance. In this paper, we show what a lemma from the thesis of Lazarsfeld tells one about the structure of this exceptional divisor.
We compute Bernstein-Sato polynomials of some pairs of topologically equivalent plane curve singularities. Some pairs have the same Tjurina number but distinct Bernstein-Sato polynomials, which implies that they are not analytically equivalent.
To a Nash function germ, we associate a zeta function similar to the one introduced by J. Denef and F. Loeser. Our zeta function is a formal power series with coefficients in the Grothendieck ring $\mathcal{M}$ of $\mathcal{AS}$-sets up to $\mathbb{R}^*$-equivariant $\mathcal{AS}$-bijections over $\mathbb{R}^*$, an analog of the Grothendieck ring constructed by G. Guibert, F. Loeser and M. Merle. This zeta function generalizes the previous construction of G. Fichou but thanks to its richer structure it allows us to get a convolution formula and a Thom-Sebastiani type formula. We show that our …
A semialgebraic map $f:X\to Y$ between two real algebraic sets is called blow-Nash if it can be made Nash (i.e. semialgebraic and real analytic) by composing with finitely many blowings-up with non-singular centers. We prove that if a blow-Nash self-homeomorphism $f:X\rightarrow X$ satisfies a lower bound of the Jacobian determinant condition then $f^{-1}$ is also blow-Nash and satisfies the same condition. The proof relies on motivic integration arguments and on the virtual Poincaré polynomial of McCrory-Parusiński and Fichou. In particular, we need to generalize Denef-Loeser change of variab…
Let $f,g:(\mathbb{R}^n,0)\rightarrow (\mathbb{R},0)$ be analytic functions. We will show that if $\nabla f(0)=0$ and $g-f \in (f)^{r+2}$ then $f$ and $g$ are $C^r$-right equivalent, where $(f)$ denote ideal generated by $f$ and $r\in \mathbb{N}$.
We show that two analytic function germs $(\C^2,0) \to (\C,0)$ are topologically right equivalent if and only if there is a one-to-one correspondence between the irreducible components of their zero sets that preserves the multiplicites of these components, their Puiseux pairs, and the intersection numbers of any pairs of distinct components.
Sufficiency of jets is a very important notion introduced by Rene Thom in order to establish the structural stability theory. The criteria for some sufficiency of jets are known as the Kuo condition and Thom type inequality, which are defined using the Kuo quantity and Thom quantity. Therefore these quantities are meaningful. In this paper we show the equivalence of Kuo and Thom quantities. Then we apply this result to the relative conditions to a given closed set.
A well-known construction of associahedra comes from truncations of simplices. Motivated by compactifications of point configurations, we show associahedra as truncations of certain products of simplices. This is then used to provide a combinatorial construction of the real moduli space of spheres relating it to blow-ups of the braid hyperplane arrangement.
We prove that two analytic branches in $(\mathbb{C}^n,0)$ whose dual resolution graph is the same admit an ambient isotopy which is smooth outside the origin. A weaker version of the converse is also proved.
In this paper, we prove identities for a class of generalized Appell functions which are based on the $\operatorname{A}_2$ root lattice. The identities are reminiscent of periodicity relations for the classical Appell function, and are proven using only analytic properties of the functions. Moreover they are a consequence of the blow-up formula for generating functions of invariants of moduli spaces of semi-stable sheaves of rank 3 on rational surfaces. Our proof confirms that in the latter context, different routes to compute the generating function (using the blow-up formula and wall-crossin…
We solve fundamental problems in Oka theory by establishing an implicit function theorem for sprays. As the first application of our implicit function theorem, we obtain an elementary proof of the fact that approximation yields interpolation. This proof and Lárusson's elementary proof of the converse give an elementary proof of the equivalence between approximation and interpolation. The second application concerns the Oka property of a blowup. We prove that the blowup of an algebraically Oka manifold along a smooth algebraic center is Oka. In the appendix, equivariantly Oka manifolds are char…
We prove that if two germs of irreducible complex analytic curves at $0\in\mathbb{C}^2$ have different sequence of characteristic exponents, then there exists $0<α<1$ such that those germs are not $α$-Hölder homeomorphic. For germs of complex analytic plane curves with several irreducible components we prove that if any two of them are $α$-Hölder homeomorphic, for all $0<α<1$, then there is a correspondence between their branches preserving sequence of characteristic exponents and intersection multiplicity of pair of branches. In particular, we recovery the sequence of characteristic exponents…
In this paper \emph{analytic equivalence} of geometric transition is defined in such a way that equivalence classes of geometric transitions turn out to be the \emph{arrows} of the \cy web. Then it seems natural and useful, both from the mathematical and physical point of view, look for privileged arrows' representatives, called \emph{canonical models}, laying the foundations of an \emph{analytic} classification of geometric transitions. At this purpose a numerical invariant, called \emph{bi--degree}, summarizing the topological, geometric and physical changing properties of a geometric transi…
We prove a monomialization theorem for mappings in general classes of infinitely differentiable functions that are called quasianalytic. Examples include Denjoy-Carleman classes, the class of $\cC^\infty$ functions definable in a polynomially bounded $o$-minimal structure, as well as the classes of real- or complex analytic functions, and algebraic functions over any field of characteristic zero. The monomialization theorem asserts that a mapping in a quasianalytic class can be transformed to a mapping whose components are monomials with respect to suitable local coordinates, by sequences of s…
We define a de Rham cohomology theory for analytic varieties over a valued field $K^\flat$ of equal characteristic $p$ with coefficients in a chosen untilt of the perfection of $K^\flat$ by means of the motivic version of Scholze's tilting equivalence. We show that this definition generalizes the usual rigid cohomology in case the variety has good reduction. We also prove a conjecture of Ayoub yielding an equivalence between rigid analytic motives with good reduction and unipotent algebraic motives over the residue field, also in mixed characteristic.
