Structures of $p$- and $sd$-shell nuclei are studied with the deformed-basis antisymmetrized molecular dynamics method using the Gogny D1S and Skyrme SLy7 forces as effective interactions. By the energy variation with a constraint, energy curves as functions of quadrupole deformation parameter $β$ are obtained. The energy curves for $sd$-shell nuclei show structure change as a function of $β$, and suggest shape coexistence. Nuclear structures in the deformed region are discussed focusing on deformations and clustering. It is found that the deformations often involve cluster structures. Effective-interaction dependence is also discussed comparing the results obtained with the two effective interactions. Although the two forces give similar results when cluster structures do not develop clearly, they give different energies in the largely deformed region when an $α$ cluster develops.
The ground-state properties of neutron-deficient Hg isotopes have been investigated by the constrained self-consistent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approach with the Skyrme and Gogny effective forces. In the case of the Skyrme interaction we h ave also applied the Hartree-Fock+BCS model with the state-dependent $δ$-pairing interaction. Potential energy surfaces and pairing properties have been compared for the both types of forces.
I discuss the inadequacy of the "projected density" prescription to be used in density dependent forces/functionals when calculations beyond mean field are pursued. The case of calculations aimed at the symmetry restoration of mean fields obtained with effective realistic forces of the Skyrme or Gogny type is considered in detail. It is shown that at least for the restoration of spatial symmetries like rotations, translations or parity the above prescription yields catastrophic results for the energy that drive the intrinsic wave function to configurations with infinite deformation, preventing…
We calculate properties of the ground and excited states of nuclei in the nobelium region for proton and neutron numbers of 92 <= Z <= 104 and 144 <= N <= 156, respectively. We use three different energy-density-functional (EDF) approaches, based on covariant, Skyrme, and Gogny functionals, each within two different parameter sets. A comparative analysis of the results obtained for odd-even mass staggerings, quasiparticle spectra, and moments of inertia allows us to identify single-particle and shell effects that are characteristic to these different models and to illustrate possible systemati…
Recent ground--state--focused studies of the tensor effects in the mean--field framework are our starting point. On the basis of phenomenological arguments, we indicate regions for acceptable values of the parameters that are associated with the tensor effective forces within both the Skyrme and the Gogny models. We identify acceptable signs and values of the parameters by making an adjustment on the neutron $1f$ spin--orbit splitting for the nuclei $^{40}$Ca, $^{48}$Ca and $^{56}$Ni. The first nucleus is not used to adjust the tensor parameters because it is spin--saturated, but is employed t…
Some thermodynamical magnitudes of interest in a pure neutron plasma are studied within the framework of the non-relativistic Brueckner-Hartree-Fock approximation at finite density and temperature. We use Skyrme and Gogny forces to describe such a neutron plasma and study the main differences that arise in these two effective parametrizations of the nuclear interaction when a strong magnetic field induces a permanent magnetization in the gas. The existence of a non-zero permanent spin polarization in a neutron plasma is explored in the density-temperature parameter space. We find that for mode…
We use the Negele-Vautherin density matrix expansion to derive a quasi-local density functional for the description of systems of fermions interacting with short-ranged interactions composed of arbitrary finite-range central, spin-orbit, and tensor components. Terms that are absent in the original Negele-Vautherin approach owing to the angle averaging of the density matrix are fixed by employing a gauge invariance condition. We obtain the Kohn-Sham interaction energies in all spin-isospin channels, including the exchange terms, expressed as functions of the local densities and their derivative…
The density-dependent finite-range Gogny force has been used to derive the effective Hamiltonian for the shell-model calculations of nuclei. The density dependence simulates an equivalent three-body force, while the finite range gives a Gaussian distribution of the interaction in the momentum space and hence leads to an automatic smooth decoupling between low-momentum and high-momentum components of the interaction, which is important for finite-space shell-model calculations. Two-body interaction matrix elements, single-particle energies and the core energy of the shell model can be determine…
The proton and neutron density distributions, one- and two-neutron separation energies and radii of nuclei for which neutron halos are experimentally observed, are calculated using the self-consistent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov method with the effective interaction of Gogny. Halo factors are evaluated assuming hydrogen-like antiproton wave functions. The factors agree well with experimental data. They are close to those obtained with Skyrme forces and with the relativistic mean field approach.

Recently, a new parameterization of the Gogny interaction suitable for astrophysical applications, named D1M*, has been presented. We investigate the possible existence of spurious finite-size instabilities of this new Gogny force by repeating a study that we have already performed for the most commonly used parameterizations (D1, D1S, D1N, D1M) of the Gogny force. This study is based on a fully-antisymmetrized random phase approximation (RPA) calculation of the nuclear matter response functions employing the continued fraction technique. It turns out that this new Gogny interaction is affecte…
We have systematically investigated the excitation spectra of $p$-shell hypernuclei within the shell model based on the nucleon-nucleon and hyperon-nucleon interactions. For the effective nucleon-nucleon interaction, we adopt the Gogny force instead of the widely-used empirical $p$-shell Cohen-Kurath interaction, while the hyperon-nucleon interaction takes the $ΛN$ interaction including the $ΛN$-$ΣN$ coupling effect. We find that the shell model with the Gogny force can give reasonable descriptions of both spectra and binding energies of the $p$-shell nuclei. With this confidence, combined wit…
We discuss the need of including tensor terms in the effective Gogny interaction used in mean-field calculations. We show in one illustrative case that, with the usual tensor term that is employed in the Skyrme interaction (and that allows us to separate the like-nucleon and the neutron-proton tensor contributions), we can describe the evolution of the N=28 neutron gap in calcium isotopes. We propose to include a tensor and a tensor-isospin term in finite-range interactions of Gogny type. The parameters of the two tensor terms allow us to treat separately the like-nucleon and the neutron-proto…
We present the evolution of the shell structure of nuclei in Hartree-Fock calculations using Skyrme's density-dependent effective nucleon-nucleon interaction. The role of the tensor part of the Skyrme interaction to the Hartree-Fock spin-orbit splitting in spherical spin unsaturated nuclei is reanalyzed. The contribution of a finite range tensor force to the spin-orbit splitting in closed shell nuclei is calculated. It is found that the exact matrix elements of a Gaussian and of a one-pion exchange tensor potential could be written as a product Skyrme's short range expression times a suppressi…
Deformed and spherical even-even nuclei are studied using a finite range simple effective interaction within the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov mean field approach. Different parameter sets of the interaction, corresponding to different incompressibility, are constructed by varying the exponent gamma of the density in the traditional density-dependent term. Ten of the twelve parameters of these interactions are determined from properties of asymmetric nuclear matter and spin polarized pure neutron matter. The two remaining parameters are fitted to reproduce the experimental binding energies known in …
The D1 family of parametrizations of the Gogny interaction commonly suffers from a rather soft neutron matter equation of state that leads to maximal masses of neutron stars well below the observational value of two solar masses. We propose a reparametrization scheme that preserves the good properties of the Gogny force but allows one to tune the density dependence of the symmetry energy, which, in turn, modifies the predictions for the maximum stellar mass. The scheme works well for D1M, and leads to a new parameter set, dubbed D1M*. In the neutron-star domain, D1M* predicts a maximal mass of…
We describe the new version 3.00 of the code HFBTHO that solves the nuclear Hartree-Fock (HF) or Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov (HFB) problem by using the cylindrical transformed deformed harmonic oscillator basis. In the new version, we have implemented the following features: (i) the full Gogny force in both particle-hole and particle-particle channels, (ii) the calculation of the nuclear collective inertia at the perturbative cranking approximation, (iii) the calculation of fission fragment charge, mass and deformations based on the determination of the neck (iv) the regularization of zero-range p…
Melting of N=20 shell and development of N = 16 and N = 34 shells for neutron-rich nuclei have been studied extensively through inclusion of tensor interaction in Skyrme Hartree Fock theory optimized to reproduce the splitting neutron 1f states of 40, 48Ca and 56Ni nuclei. Evolution of gap generated by the energy difference of single particle levels neutron 2s1/2 and neutron 1d3/2 state has been found to be responsible for the development of a shell closure at N = 16. The splitting pattern of spin-orbit partners 2p shell model state in Ca, Ti, Cr, Fe and Ni isotopes indicates formation of a ne…
As part of a program to study odd-A nuclei in the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) theory, we have developed a new calculational tool to find the HFB minima of odd-A nuclei based on the gradient method and using interactions of Gogny's form. The HFB minimization includes both time-even and time-odd fields in the energy functional, avoiding the commonly used "filling approximation". Here we apply the method to calculate neutron pairing gaps in some representative isotope chains of spherical and deformed nuclei, namely the Z=8,50 and 82 spherical chains and the Z=62 and 92 deformed chains. We find …
Background: The half-life of the famous $^{14}$C $β$ decay is anomalously long, with different mechanisms: the tensor force, cross-shell mixing, and three-body forces, proposed to explain the cancellations that lead to a small transition matrix element. Purpose: We revisit and analyze the role of the tensor force for the $β$ decay of $^{14}$C as well as of neighboring isotopes. Methods: We add a tensor force to the Gogny interaction, and derive an effective Hamiltonian for shell-model calculations. The calculations were carried out in a $p$-$sd$ model space to investigate cross-shell effects. …
The Gallagher-Moszkowski rule in the spectroscopy of odd-odd nuclei imposes a new spin constraint on the energy functionals for self-consistent mean field theory. The commonly used parameterization of the effective three-body interaction in the Gogny and Skyrme families of energy functionals is ill-suited to satisfy the spin constraint. In particular, the Gogny parameterization of the three-body interaction has the opposite spin dependence to that required by the observed spectra. The two-body part has a correct sign, but in combination the rule is violated as often as not. We conclude that a …
A multiconfiguration microscopic method has been applied with the Gogny effective interaction to the calculation of low-lying positive-parity states in even-even $^{26-28}$Si isotopes. The aim of the study is to compare the results of this approach with those of a standard method of GCM type and to get insight into the predictive power of multiconfiguration methods employed with effective nucleon-nucleon force taylored to mean-field calculations. It is found that the multiconfiguration approach leads to an excellent description of the low-lying spectroscopy of $^{26}$Si, $^{28}$Si and $^{32}$S…
Evolutions of single-particle energies and Z=64 sub-shell along the isotonic chain of N=82 are investigated in the density dependent relativistic Hartree-Fock (DDRHF) theory in comparison with other commonly used mean field models such as Skyrme HF, Gogny HFB and density dependent relativistic Hartree model (DDRMF). The pairing is treated in the BCS scheme, except for Gogny HFB. It is pointed out that DDRHF reproduces well characteristic features of experimental $Z$-dependence of both spin orbital and pseudo-spin orbital splittings around the sub-shell closure Z=64. Non-local exchange terms of…
We study the predictive power of Skyrme forces with respect to low lying quadrupole spectra along the chains of Sn, Cd, and Te isotopes. Excitation energies and B(E2) values for the lowest quadrupole states are computed from a collective Schroedinger equation which as deduced through collective path generated by constraint Skyrme-Hartree-Fock (SHF) plus self-consistent cranking for the dynamical response. We compare the results from four different Skyrme forces, all treated with two different pairing forces (volume versus density-dependent pairing). The region around the neutron shell closure …
We discuss some infinite matter properties of two finite-range interactions widely used for nuclear structure calculations, namely Gogny and M3Y interactions. We show that some useful informations can be deduced for the central, tensor and spin-orbit terms from the spin-isospin channels and the partial wave decomposition of the symmetric nuclear matter equation of state. We show in particular that the central part of the Gogny interaction should benefit from the introduction of a third Gaussian and the tensor parameters of both interactions can be deduced from special combinations of partial w…
We describe the new version (v2.73y) of the code HFODD which solves the nuclear Skyrme Hartree-Fock or Skyrme Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov problem by using the Cartesian deformed harmonic-oscillator basis. In the new version, we have implemented the following new features: (i) full proton-neutron mixing in the particle-hole channel for Skyrme functionals, (ii) the Gogny force in both particle-hole and particle-particle channels, (iii) linear multi-constraint method at finite temperature, (iv) fission toolkit including the constraint on the number of particles in the neck between two fragments, calc…

The spin-flip M1 giant resonance is explored in the framework of Random Phase Approximation on the basis of the Skyrme energy functional. A representative set of eight Skyrme parameterizations (SkT6, SkM*, SLy6, SG2, SkO, SkO', SkI4, and SV-bas) is used. Light and heavy, spherical and deformed nuclei ($^{48}$Ca, $^{158}$Gd, $^{208}$Pb, and $^{238}$U) are considered. The calculations show that spin densities play a crucial role in forming the collective shift in the spectrum. The interplay of the collective shift and spin-orbit splitting determines the quality of the description. None of the co…
The proper understanding of the equation of state (EoS) of highly asymmetric nuclear matter is essential when studying systems such as neutron stars (NSs). Using zero-range Skyrme interactions and finite-range interactions such as Gogny forces, momentum-dependent interactions (MDI) and simple effective interactions (SEI), we analyze the properties of the EoS and the influence they may have on the calculations for NSs. We study the convergence properties of the Taylor series expansion of the EoS in powers of the isospin asymmetry and the accuracy of the results for $β$-stable nuclear matter whe…
The detailed knowledge of the inner crust properties of neutron stars might be important to explain different phenomena such as pulsar glitches or the possibility of an {\it r-process} site in neutron star mergers. It has been shown in the literature that quantal effects like shell correction or pairing may play a relevant role to determine the composition of the inner crust of the neutron star. In this paper we construct the equation of state of the inner crust using the finite-range Gogny interactions, where the mean field and the pairing field are calculated with same interaction. We have u…
This paper deals with the theoretical foundation of effective two-body forces for the Generator Coordinate Method (GCM) and the projected mean-field method. The first aim of this paper is to reduce into various local-densities the in-medium content of a generalized $G$ matrix removing the hard core problem in this extended context. Then, we consider the possible renormalization of multi-body forces through a density-dependent two-body interaction in the context of configuration mixing calculations. A density dependence of the form $ρ^σ$, as used in Skyrme and Gogny forces, is successfully inte…
A Skyrme-like effective interaction is built up from the equation of state of nuclear matter. The latter is calculated in the framework of the Brueckner-Hartree-Fock approximation with two and three body forces. A complete Skyrme parametrization requires a fit of the neutron and proton effective masses and also the Landau parameters. The new parametrization is probed on the properties of a set of closed-shell and closed-subshell nuclei, including binding energies and charge radii.
We calculate positions of one- and two-particle, proton and neutron drip lines within the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory using Skyrme interaction. We also determine an approximate $r$-process path defined as a line where the neutron binding energy is equal to 2~MeV. A weakening of the nuclear shell structure at drip lines is found and interpreted as resulting from a coupling with continuum states.
We propose a procedure to determine the effective nuclear shell-model Hamiltonian in a truncated space from a self-consistent mean-field model, e.g., the Skyrme model. The parameters of pairing plus quadrupole-quadrupole interaction with monopole force are obtained so that the potential energy surface of the Skyrme Hartree-Fock + BCS calculation is reproduced. We test our method for $N=Z$ nuclei in the $fpg$- and $sd$-shell regions. It is shown that the calculated energy spectra with these parameters are in a good agreement with experimental data, in which the importance of the monopole intera…
We discuss the mechanism causing the `kink' in the charge radius isotope shift at the N=126 shell closure. The occupation of the 1$i_{11/2}$ neutron orbital is the decisive factor for reproducing the experimentally observed kink. We investigate whether this orbital is occupied or not by different Skyrme effective interactions as neutrons are added above the shell closure. Our results demonstrate that several factors can cause an appreciable occupation of the 1$i_{11/2}$ neutron orbital, including the magnitude of the spin-orbit field, and the isoscalar effective mass of the Skyrme interaction.…
We study systematically the impact of the time-even tensor terms of the Skyrme energy density functional, i.e. terms bilinear in the spin-current tensor density, on deformation properties of closed shell nuclei corresponding to 20, 28, 40, 50, 82, and 126 neutron or proton shell closures. We compare results obtained with three different families of Skyrme parameterizations whose tensor terms have been adjusted on properties of spherical nuclei: (i) TIJ interactions proposed in the first paper of this series [T. Lesinski et al., Phys. Rev. C 76, 014312 (2007)] which were constructed through a c…
The quadrupole collectivity in Nd, Sm, Gd, Dy, Er, Yb, Hf and W nuclei with neutron numbers 122 $\le$ N $\le$ 156 is studied, both at the mean field level and beyond, using the Gogny energy density functional. Besides the robustness of the N=126 neutron shell closure, it is shown that the onset of static deformations in those isotopic chains with increasing neutron number leads to an enhanced stability and further extends the corresponding two-neutron driplines far beyond what could be expected from spherical calculations. Independence of the mean field predictions with respect to the particul…
A new method of calculating pairing correlations in coordinate space with finite range interactions is presented. In the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) approach the mean field part is derived from a Skyrme-type force whereas the pairing field is constructed with a Gogny force. An iterative scheme is used for solving the integro-differential HFB equations via the introduction of a local equivalent potential. The method is illustrated on the case of the nucleus $^{18}$C. It is shown that the results are insensitive to the cut off value in the quasiparticle spectrum if this value is above 100 MeV.
A microscopic thermodynamically consistent approach is applied to compute electron capture (EC) rates and cross sections on nuclei in hot stellar environments. The cross section calculations are based on the Donnelly-Walecka multipole expansion method for treatment of semi-leptonic processes in nuclei. To take into account thermal effects, we express the electron capture cross section in terms of temperature- and momentum-dependent spectral functions for respective multipole charge-changing operators. The spectral functions are computed by employing the self-consistent thermal quasiparticle RP…
Self-consistent calculations within the relativistic mean field theory (RMFT) were performed for 150 spherical even-even nuclei. The macroscopic part of the binding energy was evaluated by subtracting the Strutinsky shell corrections from the RMFT energy. The parameters of a liquid-drop (LD), like mass formula which approximates the RMFT results, were determined. The mass and isospin dependence of the RMFT mean-square radii constant for the neutron, proton, charge and total density distributions were estimated. The RMFT liquid-drop parameters and the radii constants are compared with similar r…
Nuclear density functional theory is the only microscopical theory that can be applied throughout the entire nuclear landscape. Its key ingredient is the energy density functional. In this work, we propose a new parameterization UNEDF2 of the Skyrme energy density functional. The functional optimization is carried out using the POUNDerS optimization algorithm within the framework of the Skyrme Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory. Compared to the previous parameterization UNEDF1, restrictions on the tensor term of the energy density have been lifted, yielding a very general form of the energy densit…
The nuclear incompressibility $K_\infty$ is deduced from measurements of the Isoscalar Giant Monopole Resonance (ISGMR) in medium-heavy nuclei, and the resulting value turns out to be model dependent. Since the considered nuclei have neutron excess, it has been suggested that the model dependence is due to the different behaviour of the symmetry energy in different models. To clarify this issue, we make a systematic and careful analysis based on new Skyrme forces which span a wide range of values for $K_\infty$, for the value of the symmetry energy at saturation and for its density dependence.…
We present a large scale survey of life-times for spontaneous fission in the regime of super-heavy elements (SHE), i.e. nuclei with Z=104-122. This is done on the basis of the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock model. The axially symmetric fission path is computed using a quadrupole constraint. Self-consistent cranking is used for the collective masses and associated quantum corrections. The actual tunneling probability is estimated by the WKB approximation. Three typical Skyrme forces are used to explore the sensitivity of the results. Benchmarks in the regime Z=104-108 show an acceptable agreement. The gen…
A systematic study of the effect of tensor force on the evolution of shell structure in even-even super-heavy nuclei in the region of proton numbers Z=114, 120 and 126 and in the region of neutron numbers 178 $\le$ N $\le$ 188 is presented. We use, in this investigation, the Hartree-Fock framework by means of different types of Skyrme functionals in two cases with and without tensor force. The Bardeen-Cooper-Schriefer (BCS) approximation has been used to treat the pairing correlations. By investigating structural and decay properties of nuclei under consideration, it is found that N=184 shell …
We investigate the ground state structure of $^8$B within the Skyrme Hartree-Fock framework where spin-orbit part of the effective interaction is adjusted to reproduce the one-proton separation energy of this nucleus. Using same set of force parameters, binding energies and root mean square radii of other light p-shell unstable nuclei, $^8$Li, $^7$B,$^7$Be, and $^9$C, have been calculated where a good agreement with corresponding experimental data is obtained. The overlap integral of $^8$B and $^7$Be wave functions has been used to determine the root mean square radius of the single proton in …
In this paper we review the semiclassical extended Thomas-Fermi theory for describing the ground-state properties of nuclei. The binding energies calculated in this approach do not contain shell effects and, in this sense, they are analogous to those obtained from the mass formula. We discuss some techniques for incorporating the shell effects which are missing in the semiclassical calculation, such as the so-called expectation value method and the Kohn-Sham scheme. We present numerical applications for effective zero-range Skyrme forces and finite-range Gogny forces.
The tensor force, as an important component of strong nuclear force, generates a variety of intriguing effects ranging from few-body systems to neutron stars. It is responsible for the nucleon-nucleon correlation beyond mean-field approximation, and is accordingly proved to play no role in the standard Skyrme energy density functionals in the present work. Therefore, the Skyrme's original tensor interaction that is extensively-employed presently is invalid. As an alternative strategy, we introduced a central interaction, i.e., the $\bm{σ}_{1}\cdot \bm{σ}_{2}$ term, to improve the description o…
The Thermal Quasiparticle Random-Phase Approximation is combined with the Skyrme energy density functional method (Skyrme-TQRPA) to study the response of a hot nucleus to an external perturbation. For the sample nuclei, $^{56}$Fe and $^{82}$Ge, the Skyrme-TQRPA is applied to analyze thermal effects on the strength function of charge-neutral Gamow-Teller transitions which dominate neutrino-nucleus reactions at $E_ν\lesssim 20$~MeV. For the relevant supernova temperatures we calculate the cross sections for inelastic neutrino scattering. We also apply the method to examine the rate of neutrino-a…
First calculations for deformed nuclei with the Fayans functional are carried out for the uranium and lead isotopic chains. The ground state deformations and deformation energies are compared to Skyrme-Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov results of HFB-17 and HFB-27 functionals. For the uranium isotopic chain, the Fayans functional predictions are rather similar properties compared to HFB-17 and HFB-27. However, there is a disagreement for the lead isotopic chain. Both of the Skyrme HFB functionals predict rather strong deformations for the light Pb isotopes which does not agree with the experimental data…
Low-energy E1 strength in neutron-rich $^{132-164}$Sn isotopes is analyzed in the framework of the Skyrme random phase approximation (RPA) with different Skyrme forces. A double folding procedure is applied to take into account the energy-dependent width effects beyond RPA. All the considered Skyrme forces indicate a soft prolate deformation in the open shell isotopes $^{142-164}$Sn. The integrated E1 strength in the energy region of the pygmy resonance grows with the neutron number. The influence of deformation on the integrated strength near the particle emission thresholds (which is of a ke…
A systematic search for axial octupole deformation in the actinides and superheavy nuclei with proton numbers $Z=88-126$ and neutron numbers from two-proton drip line up to $N=210$ has been performed in covariant density functional theory (DFT) using four state-of-the-art covariant energy density functionals representing different model classes. The nuclei in the $Z\sim 96, N\sim 196$ region of octupole deformation have been investigated in detail and the systematic uncertainties in the description of their observables have been quantified. Similar region of octupole deformation exists also in…
Shell corrections to the nuclear binding energy as a measure of shell effects in superheavy nuclei are studied within the self-consistent Skyrme-Hartree-Fock and Relativistic Mean-Field theories. Due to the presence of low-lying proton continuum resulting in a free particle gas, special attention is paid to the treatment of single-particle level density. To cure the pathological behavior of shell correction around the particle threshold, the method based on the Green's function approach has been adopted. It is demonstrated that for the vast majority of Skyrme interactions commonly employed in …
The nuclear $α$ decay of heavy nuclei is investigated based on the nuclear energy density functional, which leads to the $α$ potential inside the parent nucleus in terms of the proton and neutron density profiles of the daughter nucleus. We use the Skyrme force model, Gogny force model, and relativistic mean field model to get the nucleon density profiles inside heavy nuclei. Once the nucleon density profiles are determined, the parameters of the nuclear $α$ potential are fitted to the observed $α$ decay half-lives of heavy nuclei. This approach is then applied to predict unknown $α$ decay hal…
We determine two-body Skyrme force parameters from a Nucleon-Nucleon interaction as a function of the maximal momentum fitting NN scattering data. We find general agreement with Vlowk interactions based on high quality potentials.
The nuclear structure of even-even and odd lead isotopes (178-236 Pb) is investigated within the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory. Calculations are performed for a wide range of neutron numbers, starting from the proton-rich side up to the neutron-rich side, by using the SLy4 Skyrme interaction and a new proposed formula for the pairing strength which is more precise for this region of nuclei as we did in previous works in the regions of Neodymium (Nd, Z=60) [Int. J. Mod. Phys. E 24, 1550073 (2015)] and Molybdenum (Mo, Z=42) [Nuc. Phys. A 957 22-32 (2017)]. Such a new pairing strength formula al…
The low-lying level structures of $^{26}{\rm Ne}$, $^{28}{\rm Ne}$ and $^{30}{\rm Ne}$ which are related to the breaking of the N=20 shell closure have been studied by the framework of the deformed-basis antisymmetrized molecular dynamics plus generator coordinate method using Gogny D1S force. The properties of the many-particle and many-hole states are discussed as well as that of the ground band. We predict that the negative-parity states in which neutrons are promoted into $pf$-orbit from $sd$ orbit have the small excitation energy in the cases of $^{28}{\rm Ne}$ and $^{30}{\rm Ne}$ which, …
